Copying [solo, nk]

Ever since Kanae had learned the surface walking technique, she had been somewhat... thirsty, ya know? Well, she had had a good drink when she had gotten back home, but also, it was more of a knowledge thirst thing. Like... not the studying kind of knowledge. No, Kanae was looking for more basic jutsus to learn. So she had gone to her teachers and rather actively learned the name of the surface walking technique and some interesting information about several other techniques that they said she should learn before going on to anything more advanced. Well, she would be happy starting from the bottom.
However, in order to balance her thirst, there was apparently a real hunger this time around. A hunger for food. Even ninja needed sustenenace, so Kanae headed down to the ramen stand to grab something good to eat. While eating the hot, slightly spicy food, she wondered how she could prevent that annoying guy across the street from sitting down next to her. At this stage, a use for one of the jutsu that the teachers had told her about. She sighed, and got up from her seat, heading off to the training grounds, stretching casually as she went.
When she got to the training ground, she found it mostly empty. Oh well, that was fine. Honestly, Kanae didn't really care if there were people around to watch or not. At this point, she just wanted to learn the jutsu. Now, she noted back to what her teachers had told her about this one specifically. The clone jutsu, bunshin no jutsu. It wasn't like some of the more advanced duplication techniques that she had heard rumors about in the academy, but at the very least, it would suffice as a basis until she learned something more of these techniques. 
Well, where to start? Kanae knew the purpose of the technique, so that was something. To create maybe two image copies of herself. These would copy her movements and such, and be useful overall. At least, against people like her fellow academy students, who were really easily distracted and such. Sure, she wasn't exactly the most distracting girl to look at, but suddenly having more than one of a person coming at you was sure to at least startle a youngling. But what Kanae was thinking as a starting point was a physical one. How to start performing the jutsu?
Well, duh. There were three handseals in this jutsu, and they seemed simple enough to form. Kanae began to make the handseals, her fingers moving slowly and cautiously. She hadn't had much practice with these, but she knew that over time, her hands and muscle memory would become accustomed to them and eventually, she would be able to perform them without even thinking about them. For her, it was something to look forward to, as it was one less thing to worry about during combat. After completing the handseals, she focused her chakra outward, the first time she had done so practically. 
This was a first, beyond doubt. With this outpouring of chakra, Kanae was stepping into a whole new field of ninjutsu. Sometime in the past, chakra had been used... differently, as a connection. But Kanae didn't know any of these things. She was now only focused on the two copies that now appeared on either side of her. Upon raising her arm, they raised theirs as well. She flicked her short hair, and they did as well. Dispelling the clones she breathed a sigh of relief. One jutsu down, several left to go, she thought.
