Alone with a Doctor (P, Stein, Salzem

Salzem watched as Stein took the fox from Salzem and tied it down back where Salzem first found it. Salzem strangely did not care for the animals tied down for experiments. He acknowledged and accepted the fact that they were there for the sol purpose of research. Salzem approached the doe, who was struggling, almost feverishly as Salzem approached. Salzem looked down at the deer's legs. One was twisted at a highly irregular angle, twitching below where the fracture had happened. Salzem weaved the signs again, blueish light flickered around Salzem's hands, before fading slowly into existence. He channeled more chakra into his palms, and lowered his hands to the doe's broken leg. It shied away from his hands closed in on it's leg. Salzem tried again, reaching his hands toward the fracture in the doe's leg and again, it twisted it's leg out of the way as Salzem's hands drew near. Running low on patients, Salzem reached out quickly, grabbing the deer's leg, holding it still while Salzem placed his other hand above the bone-fracture. As Salzem's blue-tinted hands were laid upon the creature, it stopped struggling. Although the pain was apparent in the creature's eyes, It seemed to know Salzem was doing it a service. Salzem let go of the Doe's leg slowly in case it would try to jerk it's leg away again but to Salzem's relief, it did not. Salzem then placed both hands upon the doe's leg fracture, pumping chakra into the wound.
 
Stein was right, It takes much more chakra to heal something like this. Salzem thought to himself as he proceeded to pump more chakra into the creature's wound. The chakra moved the fragments back into the places they would naturally be, forming a seal as two pieces came together. The doe would occasionally whimper in pain as Salzem was working but did not struggle beyond the occasional re-positioning it did as it was still tied down. This whole ordeal with the doe took about half an hour's worth of time, being precise, moving bone fragments and the like. When it was all over, the deer seemed to have a glint of thanks in it's eyes, all traces of pain gone from it's body language. Salzem stood up and faced Stein, his teacher.

"Done."

Stein watched Salzem as he approached the doe and how it was shying away from him, he watched as it took some time for Salzem to heal the wound of the doe, longer then he expected even, Stein waited till the doe was fully healed though, and when he was don he looked over it, yea was perfect as the day right before he broke the leg on the doe, he then turned and looked at the kid and nodded "Very well done, now there is a creature" Stein goes and retrieves a animal, and he walked over to Salzem with it and handed it to Salzem "This Creature is dying a painful death, Hare Ox Monkey, these are your hand signs for Chakra Anesthetic, it will remove the pain and allow it to pass peacefully" Stein would demonstrate the hand signs and his fingertips glowed a blue flame on each of them and then he shook it free and nodded to him "Your up next" Stein would then wait for the kid to try it next and watched to help make sure it was done properly

Salzem weaved the signs and channeled his chakara into the tips of his fingers on his left hand as Stein had instructed. Bluish flames ignited on the tips, flickering silently, as a small breeze blew through the trees. Stein handed Salzem a new animal, this one a rabbit. The poor thing had a puncture in it's chest possible piercing one or both of it's lungs. Salzem watched as the creature struggled and contorted as unknowable pain flashed though rabbit's body with each breath it made. Blood pooled in and over Salzem's palm as he held the bunny to his chest, holding it almost the way a mother might hold a child.

"Hush..." Salzem whispered to the rabbit. "It will be over soon." If the rabbit heard or understood Salzem's words, It did not show. Salzem jabbed his fingers into the rabbit's neck, injecting his chakra directly into it's nervous-system. As his chakra traveled, it began to shut down pain receptors all along the animal's body, dulling and eventually shutting down the creature's sense of pain. Salzem watched as the rabbit stopped twisting and contorting in pain as he granted it sweet relief. It's movements now only consisted of the un-even rise and fall of it's little chest. Salzem rubbed the rabbit's head with his thumb and as he did so, the rabbit's eyes closed in pleasure before it's chest fell for the last time and it died in his arms. Salzem would hand the bunny back to Stein, shutting off the flow of chakra to his finger tips. He felt almost robotic, acting purely for acting. He felt nothing emotionally and barely registed the environment around him. He looked down at his hand which was still dripping from the blood of the rabbit. They say a someone can hide themselves perfectly except in the eyes. If that were true, Salzem was a true automaton.

He reached around and pulled out a handkerchief from his pack and wiped the blood off his hands slowly, seemingly thoughtfully, before slipping the piece of cloth back where it came from. In contrast to last time, his hand felt clean, as if nothing had stained it before, as if it had never been sullied before. Salzem was hollow, so hollow in fact, one might be able to wear him as armor. He had no issue with what he was doing. It was science. It was Knowledge. It was Training. But why did he feel this way? He was not certain. He sighed, before entering another coughing fit. Salzem tore off his mask just before he coughed up more blood. It was not just a little anymore. When the hacking had stopped, blood stained the ground in front of Salzem and it was still dribbling out of his mouth. His body was heavy, his mind, a prototype to what it once was. Salzem slipped his mask back on as the wave of disorientation passed and his mind cleared. He wouldn't survive many more fits like that, and he knew it.

 A second after, his chest was racked with immense pain. So much, it felt as if his whole torso was collapsing in on itself. Salzem gripped at his chest as if it would help, his mouth formed into a gnarled snarl. Finally as the pain ceased, Salzem turned to Stein. nodding at the rabbit in his possession.

"Done..." His voice sounded more hollow than he felt. Like an empty suit of armor.

Stein noticed this kid was acting like none of it mattered, he truly saw death of a dear one and it really messed him up, not even the cute bunny dying phased him, this would be a fun student to have, but after that fit stein needed to go study some ways to help the kid out and he nodded his head at the kid "You did well son, Sadly I really need to get to examining ways and preparing for saving your life, you go live life but make sure not to get that cough much worse then what it is right now" Stein would give him a salute and then pointed towards Konoha as he turned around and picked up a scythe he had laying close by, he was going to train using the weapon.

Stein walked some ways out and with nothing around in a good five meter area he would begin, spinning the Scythe around in his hand and then began to flip the scythe from one hand to the other as it twirled, then he would spin it back behind him and into the other hand, and he kept the momentum going and he himself was moving in a small circle, as if he was cutting up an invisible enemy in the center, each slice that would be dealt to this invisible enemy was carefully calculated and meticulous, nothing was to kill, but rather maim, as he would wish to conduct experiments on this fine specimen in his mind he was picturing, when he was finished he would return to his animals and placed the scythe back in its spot, and he would grab a shovel and walked over to the edge where there was no animals and he dug a bit of a shallow hole, then he grabbed the dead bunny and threw it into the hole and covered it back up, time to study the effects of decomposition in the earth.

Sadly that would not be ready for awhile though, so he went out back towards Konoha where the kid should already be back at, it was now night time, Stein had worked up a sweat from how long he practiced with that scythe, he had been practicing with it for sometime now, he had taken his coat off for the training, and he had it draped over a shoulder, and a lit cig in his mouth as he returned to konoha, feeling a little victorious, as he had been messing up that routine for sometime with that scythe and now he had worked out a good bit of it, now it was just making sure he actually cut the invisible enemy and not jabbing it into the being, he would have to test it on a bear soon he guessed, but for now he went to the inn he was staying at in Konoha, finished his cig and then went in and up to his room, and went to sleep in his room with the door closed and locked and in his bed, Dreams of the ultimate experiment being conducted and he was the main person doing it, maybe it will be something he has to test out at some point in life, as this seemed rather possible, but only time will tell, so till then sweet dreams and happy nightmares.

Salzem would nod as Stein left, heading his way to the hospital. His condition was getting much worse and he was going to need to acquire some heavy pain killers if he was going to "live his life to the fullest" as Stein had advised. Then he remembered something... The chakra anesthetic technique Stein had taught him. Salzem channeled the chakra into his hands while weaving the signs Hare, Ox, Monkey. His fingers ignited in blue flame and he quickly jabbed them into his own neck. Salzem shivered as his chakra was injected into his nervous system. The remaining pain fell into non-existence as the jutsu did it's work. Salzem still felt as heavy as before but it was a little easier to move now. Salzem limped his way back home. All he wanted to do now is to sleep.
