Master of the Creepy Crawly [training]
Wed Aug 19, 2015 1:21 am
Malvoes rises in the morning stretching out, the sun peeking through the mist of Kiri, he cracks his back and quickly gets dressed, heading out to the streets as soon as he ate breakfast. Pulling his bandana up over his mouth to help him breath through the mist, he quickly made his way through the crowds, ducking out as soon as he could and making his way to this secluded training spot. There he breathed a sigh of relaxation, “Today I’ll be training you my lovely insects.” He stretches out his arms nonchalantly, insects exiting from the pores on his hands and forming buzzing clouds on either sides of him. He reaches into one of his bags and pulls out a handful of uninflated balloons, fifteen to be exact, stretching them out as he sits down, he starts blowing them up, “Target practice.” He smiles warmly up at the cloud of chakra devouring insects, who indifferently buzz around their host, uncaring of his work. He starts walking around the small 30x40 foot clearing, letting the balloons drop or float into the air, throwing a few higher up into the air. Malvoes walks back to his swarm of killer insects and opens his palm, they immediately fly back into his hands and as the last of them return he stretches about limbering up his body. He kneels down, taking the position of a runner before a race looking up with determination, gritting his teeth he dashes forward. He rushes past the first two, jumping up into the air, he sweeps both of his hands outward, throwing a cluster of insects out from each hand, they go rushing towards the first two balloons, popping them as the clusters pierce them. As he lands he doesn’t take a moment to breath, keeping his pace he dashes forward toward the third ballon, pulling his right arm back his insects swirl around his fist, creating an insect drill, as he rushes forward uppercutting the balloon, it pops with little resistance. He swings around with the momentum from his punch, sending out three more insect clusters, popping three more balloons in succession. He dashes forward, throwing out a line of insects from his right hand, the wave connects with the last three balloons popping them effortlessly. As all the insects return back to him Malvoes looks up at a large Pine tree, “Guys, I have a idea.” This shouldn’t be too hard, it’s just stripping pine needles off a tree, surely a swarm of murderous insects can do that. First he brought a cluster of insects out into his right hand, making a small sphere, he winds up and throws it pitcher style, hitting one of the larger branches, totally meant to aim for that. The insects barely graze it before returning to him though, “No, guys this is what I want you to do.” He starts to exlpain, mentally, not literally, supposedly the insects can communicate with him telepathically, but whenever he tries the hive mind just gives him some sass. After he’s done, he tries again, aiming for the same branch, this time he sends out a wave of insects using both hands, the wave travels outward, as it hits the branch it deforms, the insects surround the branch in an amorphous blob, staying there for a few moments then returning to Malvoes, peeled bark falling from the branch as they leave it. “That was… impressive, really impressive but sadly wrong, maybe you can get it right this time.” Taking a combat ready stance he firmly plants his feet onto the ground, extending both of his arms creating two separate swarms of insects over each of his hand, he pulls his arms back, lunging forward slightly he flings the swarms at the tree each hitting it on two separate branches. On impact the swarms each swarm along their respective tree branch, covering it completely. Malvoes watches in anticipation, waiting, it’s not long until the two swarms come off the offensive and return back to Malvoes. As they return Malvoes notices that, dissapointingly, one swarm once again peeled the bark off the branch, he looks over the the other and to his great pleasure it is completely stripped of it’s needles. “Wahoo! Now to redo that but on a larger scale.” So again he brought an arm out, bringing a swarm crawling out of his wrist, he tosses the swarm forward, propelling it at the tree, it lands on the branch and successfully strips it of all it’s needles, but Malvoes notices that there’s a problem, the sheer amount of insects is too little to spread out across the tree and take off all of the needles. “Hmm, what to do. Maybe we change the method of attack?” Idea number one: Send a cloud of insects to attack as one. Going with this, Malvoes extends his arms, insects swarming out of every pore on his arms, they swarm together and form a massive cloud in front of Malvoes. He takes a step forward, sweeping his arms forward dramatically, ushering the deadly cloud forward, and at first it appears to be successful, sweeping through the branches as one large entity, pine needles dropping here and there, all is good and deadly in the world. But soon Malvoes notices that the stripping process is taking too long still and it’s too spotty with this method, he recalls the insects and goes about thinking what to do this time. “Maybe we go about in a whirlwind around it, like keep your paths but when you come across it rip and shred at will.” He says out loud, which he reminds himself, is rather pointless considering that the insects can react to his commands through their telepathic link. He takes a moment, closing his eyes he envisions a cyclone, surrounding his target, engulfing them, and tearing them to shreds. He puts his hands together sending out a wave of insects towards the tree, as they arrive to their target they form a ring around the base, slowly spreading up and outward to surround it. As the insect tornado(hehe) climbs upward the individual insects start to strip all of the needles off the tree, soon there’s a blur of tree shrapnel and swirling insects. As the tornado dissipates and the insects return to Malvoes, he gazes upon the work they’ve done, the tree is almost completely stripped of its needles, and most of the bark is chipped off. Malvoes grins at the wonderful carnage, or is it just poor woodsmanship..hm a question for another time perhaps. Now, to try and perfect the technique, finesse was never the strong suit of Malvoes or his insects but there’s always time to learn a new skill. He sends out the insects again, “Same as last time my little friends.” They rush out, faster than before, they form the tornado but tighter, staying closer to the edge of the branches, as before they swirl in a flurry of buzzing, but there’s not much to be seen until they dissipate and return to Malvoes. The tree itself for the most part is almost completely unscathed, except it is completely barren of all of it’s pine needles. Malvoes smile but suddenly feels exhausted, he realizes that he has not limited the chakra use of this technique, the insects are doing as they please with his chakra network. Malvoes sits down, breathing heavily as his body starts to naturally heal itself and replenish his chakra pools, he takes the time to thing of hand seals he could use to limit the chakra usage for this technique. After pondering it for a bit and letting his body rest up he stands cautiously, until he’s sure that he can take it, then when he decides that he is, he gives it another go. Forming the hand seal he releases a wave of insects that hit the base of the tree, as soon as they do the rest converge on the tree, and form the tornado, quickly rising in height and consuming it all into a black mass of hungry chakra draining bugs. The tornado rages on for a few moments until it eventually subsides, all of the insects returning to Malvoes and work they’ve done making him extremely proud. The magnificent tree that stood before him was completely stripped of all of its bark, completely smooth, “If I ever decide shinobi work isn’t for me I’m going to become a master woodworker.” Malvoes proudly says to the air around him, he then realizes he already is, given that he is a puppeteer and he crafts all of his puppets. Malvoes looks up to the tree and bows, giving respect to his formidable opponent and sparring partner. He then goes about the work of cutting down the tree, and gathering the wood to bring to his workshop, can’t let it go to waste, and the tree will just perish after what I’ve done to it, which would be dishonorable to the tree and to myself, don’t want to be known as the tree killer of Kirigakure. He collects it all and then cuts up the wood into several pieces, that will be useful in creating various parts of a puppet. It takes him a few trips to bring all of the lumber to his storage and to his workshop, it’s nearly night time when he’s finished. He wraps up his work, organizing his lumber, double checking schematics for new puppets, cleaning around his house, and once he finishes everything he wraps up his equipment, quickly summoning Mantis from his scroll and hanging him up on the workshop wall and he heads to bed, satisfied with his training.
