Yuri had been training for a period for now, although training nowadays were nothing compared to the ones in the past, she would have already be getting back to her groove. It is time to start giving her stuff to improve her combat prowess and that needs money. She had been thinking about her capabilities for real missions recently as she had not done a single one for a long while. Thinking of missions, she was reminded of how she was given one.

Past the entrance of the hideout reveals the warmth of the sunlight. At the moment when she made her first step out, she glance at the surroundings and decided to begin from her left.

Yuri's prowess from her disadvantage has allowed her to move through the grasses with the lowest height among the others in her group. As she gets her way around to scan an area 3 kilometers wide, she couldn't feel any intent of a fight. She was doubting the accuracy of her info until she spotted someone struggling to get down from being hanged on a tree from her legs. The victim was shouting for help as she goes forward to free her. Her legs tapped lightly on a soft surface and she backed a few steps immediately. There was no consequence from that action but she had decided to wait for a few minutes in the grass. The victim went quite, Yuri figured the trap instantly as she moves slowly to the back of the tree which holds the victim. She threw a kunai that cut the victim's face lightly. The grass were shredded 20 meters in front of Yuri. She retracts her kunai and found traces of blood, her kunai needs sharpening as well. She headed to the next area in mind.

Yuri followed what her past guided her past self to do and ended up in front of a big tree with the difference that she is totally alone now. She was reminded of what happens next.

One of the mentioned location was the bridge that helps travelers to cross the valley easily. Yuri stopped when she was 40 meters from the area. If there is enemy, they shouldn't know Yuri was aware in mind that she was never intended for combat. There isn't much option as Yuri closes into the path in front of the bridge. She paused for a moment and prepared herself as she dashed across the bridge. If there is any resistance, it should show at going back. Yuri was at full speed when she turned sharply and dashed around the bridge again. The bridge blew up the moment she crossed half of it. Yuri anticipated trouble as she jumps and balances herself on the sides of the valley, debris were falling down when someone makes use of the falling objects to make his attack stronger. A wind release backed by the debris with their falling speed, Yuri waited to get in range with the nearest falling object as she made it just in time to get back up the valley and made haste for her next location before her enemy could close in on her.

On her way, she dodged a few shuriken with ease as she did a flat landing on the ground suddenly, causing dozens of shuriken to pass by above her. Voices of being wounded came out softly from the bushes as Yuri gets up immediately and runs to her right and parried a cleaving attack with a kick to the aggressor's grip. She did a somersaulted to follow up on her second kick sending her enemy a few feet backwards on his fours. Her bet was to use the same trick twice so that her enemy will know her intentions which in turn gave her a chance to make her escape. They were no fools as her feet was grabbed from the ground. A long branch was rooted to the ground. Yuri already had a countermeasure when she saw a the requirements at the direction she planned to run to. She grabs the head of the emerged and knocks him out with an elbow attack.

After half an hour, she reached her next area. It seems to be fresh from a battle, bodies were found all over the place along with their weapons that played as their partners while they were still alive. She looked around for any clues starting from their attire, 4 diagonal lines on some of the headbands and a ridiculous amount of dead insects from some bodies. Small trees started their life at some of the bodies as well, she finds it hard to believe what had happened and she saw a few blood trails that ended at certain points. She needs to leave immediately.

Guided by her memory, Yuri had spent the entire day running to different spots within Kirigakure. From the perspective of others they would be puzzled by her actions. No one cares anyway, making her actions insignificant. While moving around, she did come across some "transactions" made by certain individuals , but all of them deserves to be ignored since the participants were only tall enough to reach for her chest and they are wearing simple clothes that often hang loose. Just hearing the starting contents of it gives her enough reasons not to continue hearing for the next few lines. Her senses tells her that they are not disguises as well. Her mind is still working.

Her last area was to check on a currently predicted fighting area. She was 50 meters from the scene when the battle happened, it seems that this unified attack was not to her superior's expectations. She had to go back and make her report. Unfortunately, she could not avoid combat when a clone nearly back-stabbed when she did a last minute forward roll a few steps forward saving her life. She jumped onto the clone successfully halfway performing the roll. The clone turned into a puddle of water. She tried making a run again when an explosion behind her was so large that she had a tough time to keep herself balanced when running. She made a crash onto 1 of the escaping fighters on the battlefield. The guy turned around and prepared his blade. He did a simple stab attack on Yuri while Yuri held onto her kunai and tried to do the same. The crash ended in Yuri taking a considerable cut on the side of her gut while killing the guy in the process with Yuri's kunai pierced through his neck from the side. Her journey back to the hideout was slow.

Yuri went back to town after a series of runs that made her stomach growl. Hanging vines, cliffs, and unmaintained trees within the forest of Kirigakure kept her past close to her. It is not a bad thing to know the areas well, but it is important for her not to lose her way back in her current home ground.

Yuri wander into the town once again finding some fun to cut herself some slack. Half of the able-bodies are working in factories to produce the needed necessities daily. Along some streets where the shop owner takes care of their child at the same time, children can seen chasing each other around without having to worry on anything and just stay happy. It is their parents who are the one having the real headache having to deal with customers and the safety of their darlings when shouting can be here to tell them not to wander off too far. Arguments are a common thing as well when customers do haggling at the prices of items, a match of both emotion and reasons, the one put to the test ultimately is always the owner.

Looking to the front, there was a commotion that got surrounded by a few dozens of bystanders. Wondering if it will be of any thrill, she heads up the roof and take a look. In the middle of the crowd, there are a few injured people with the man standing putting his arms on a "Fight Challenge Tour" banner. Yuri grinned at the kind of scene that challenger made as she jumps down right to the center of the crowd to try her luck.

The tall opponent is front of her lets go of the banner immediately and prepares his stance for a fight. Without further ado, Yuri does the same as well although it is not needed for her. The atmosphere of the crowd quite down for a few seconds. Yuri had no intention of starting the attack yet, On an early defense? The man smirked as he delivered his first blow to Yuri's surprise. Fast! Yuri moved a step to her right to avoid the punch but was caught off guard by the high kick that she flew a few meters back having not backing off in time. Getting back on feet from air is not a problem usually, while Yuri somersaults for that in air halfway through, she saw a hand coming for her face directly. She had to deal with it, which leaves the safety of landing uncertain as she grabs hold of his wrist with her right hand and pulled down trying to balance herself on his hand. It was at this moment her neck was grabbed and followed by her being raised up high. Yuri knew that she was gonna smash the ground hard if she didn't break his hold.

Not her best days again as the misjudge from the start caused her problems. Yuri pondered for a split second as she was grabbed on air. She simply used her state of vulnerability and kicks him in the eye with her left leg, it worked as he rotated his head to the right. Her right leg was already right beside his head as he swings her down. Yuri used the force pushing her down as aid for her next move as she forgo breathing for seconds and bends her body backwards to let her hand land first, affecting the direction the slam. The seemingly slam turns to her advantage by now as her legs tightens its grip on his head and pulls him down, leaving the outcome a mess. The man got slammed lightly instead and Yuri was grasping for air for a few seconds before the 2 of them stood up, leaving the watchers cheering loud.

Yuri knows that she needs to buck up as fight resumes when he comes charging again. Not letting any moments to waste this time, Yuri waited for his first attack against and he goes for her gut this time round. As his attacks landed, she uses both of her hands to grip onto his punch. Without regards to be thought as a diversion, the man had already grabbed her head from the back to let the attack follow up with his knees. Yuri got kneed on her face as she struggles to block it with the grabbed fist, dealing considerate damage to her face. She was waiting for this moment as her legs gripped his attacking leg with force and shoves in an attempt to break his foot. Yuri used all her might on this attack knowing that she wouldn't stand a chance against him head-on and loses balance purposely. The man changes his expression as he came to realize that this was a trap and loses balance as the other leg was out of condition to move. He desperately tried to elbow her on the back of her head to knock her out but was too late as Yuri forces herself to recover as she steps the injured foot and jumped a few feet away ending up being partially hit on the gut by the elbow.

Yuri had little problems getting up although the attacks cost her. Her opponent endured the pain of his fractured foot to get back on his feet. Yuri did not allowed the entire process to finish as she speeds towards him and did a leg sweep on him to seal the win. She was mistaken as the man grabbed her leg and tossed her up in the air right above him. The pain didn't get the better of him as he recovered and waits for her to land. Yuri had the make the landing count as failure will make let her taste broken limps.

There was a second for thought which Yuri fully used it to her advantage. While unbalanced, she knows that there is no way the man can move around given the time limit he had to get her and thought of a plan based on that. The time to get attacked is near, Yuri regains her composure for the final attack.

The moment she got within his reach, He uses both of his fist and hammers Yuri on her upper body and her thighs with his working knee prepared underneath. Just when everyone thought the man won again, Yuri grabs onto the wrist of the hand that first reaches her and used it as the center of her gravity. Before taking anymore damage, Yuri maneuver her body about the wrist and did a kick aimed at his temple. The guy's vision blurred immediately and fell to the ground. Knowing that he could still recover, Yuri quickly recovered her balance on the ground did a hard stomp on his temple again, knocking him out and sealing the win. The crowd applauded.

Dark skies appears to be the right atmosphere when performers started parading around the town with brightly colored clothing. Children are playing hard for the prizes when games were set out to be a test of luck rather than a test of mettle. Couples walk together holding hands like there is no tomorrow. The annoying noises of rolling dices are present as well, creating results surprising enough to make men shout. Yuri just received her meager meals from working hard as she walks towards the hot-spots of the event. With nowhere to go, she decides to find the nearest bench to rest. She was just in luck for that to happen when she decided that the course of action is better taken by the loving couple in front of her. A kid jumped onto them right after they sat. A sight of memory to her, Yuri continued walking to places that will eventually bath her in light and enough to make relief her of troubles.

Yuri stopped for a moment. Her doubts surfaced as she rushes towards what seemed like a happy family. Yuri was just in time to push the tiny wrist away before the technique worked its way to assassinate the woman. The couple couldn't believe what just happened as they are now in a state of shock. The kid had failed its purpose and jumped back. Such a way of killing is the simplest and the fastest as the kid turns into a Shinobi in an instant. She did not pause to stop the assault as Yuri did not have any time to prepare. The couple ran while Yuri buy some time from the aggressor. Pair of swords versus pair of hands forced Yuri to go on the defense. Before Yuri could dodge, the event was slightly disturbed as Yuri braced for impact against a painted wall. The aggressor went for the couple as Yuri recovered quickly to divert the attention again.

Yuri went with the handseals quickly to stop her, which is only returned by a moment of standstill in her pace. When the blade was on its way to the running man, Yuri did just enough to parry her attack by grabbing onto the sword. Blood started flowing from her palm as this marks the start of staring. The pulling of a sword prompted Yuri to attempt a roundhouse kick only to be dodged by a somersault. A double mid-air was done by her opponent to defend herself as Yuri bent to dodge followed by a kick which got defended and prevents the Blader from touching the ground. Meanwhile, Yuri rushed towards the Blader and grabbed both of her hands, balancing the Blader as well. This started a series of legwork as Yuri failed to get a head-start on. Shin to shin, knee to knee and ankles to ankles. This interlocks both of them together as both stared at each other. A moment is enough to out-muscle Yuri even though Yuri isn't stupid. She aimed a kick and one of the opposing handles as she jumped back, disarming a Blader from her opponent. You won't be leaving As both were in their fighting stance waiting for each other to strike.

Both of them chose to strike at the exact moment as their feet started lifting from the ground at the same time. Both went straight at each other, as soon as the Blader stopped her steps, so did Yuri. The difference comes when the Blader threw her other blade at Yuri, forcing her to do a side roll. The Blader took this chance to grab her disarmed katana and threw it at the rolling Yuri. Yuri wasn't quick enough to evade again as she did a handstand to kick the katana aside via the face of the blade. The enemy had the upper hand as she fully equipped herself and did a slash horizontally. Yuri was forced to kick the incoming blade's handle without preparations. She barely evade the stab as the blade slightly cuts her right shoulder blade. This in turn allows her to recover herself in fighting stance before being forced to balance on one leg again by the incoming wind done by the opponent. The Blader's attacks were lethal this time round as every dodged attack gives Yuri a small cut as her final slash radius rose greatly to lead Yuri to mid-air. Yuri was looking down at her opponent face to face when this is a great opening for her end.

Checkmate. The Blader garners her strength for the final pierce. In her vulnerable position, there choices of objects for her escape. She looks at each of them carefully. A rubbish bin seems to be the best choice. As Yuri descended and the sharpness of the cutting blade touches her. A rubbish bin was sliced into 2, with lots of powder obstructing her vision. Yuri on her grounds, threw a wooden plank aiming at the blader immediately. The blader slices the plank into half, falling into her trap as she comes from her back and did a leg sweep. Yuri intended to knock her out and her stomp was avoided by the rolling enemy. The blader recovered and produced a thin crescent of wind from her sword at Yuri. Looking at the thin attack, Yuri timed her somersault as to avoid the horizon attack. The blader kept her blades all of a sudden. Before Yuri could fully recover from her position. A great gust of wind unbalances her. This gives her opponent another great chance as she rushes to the recovering Yuri and pulls out one of her blades using the Iai style of attacking. Yuri could only roll away from the first slash which leads her to her advantage by pushing up herself with one hand instantly and did a kick towards opponent's face. It nearly hit her but it forces her sights to be off from her target. This is the moment when Yuri forgoes her balance and tackles the blader crudely, resulting in a rolling struggling between both fighters. The guards soon arrives at the scene when the 2 fighters vanished, leaving their prints all over the place.

The more good she does, the more evil she attracts. Her abilities are limited and due to the opposition numbers that threatened her life greatly, she is forced to wander in hopes of another settlement again. She might go back to the previous place she went. But laziness does not get to her as she chooses otherwise. She would get by easily, if another place of livelihood unfolds quickly. As she left the outskirts, there are still some hindrances that needs to be handled with. These boys were all around the same age as her but their prowess were trained by their leaders after almost 4-5 incidents happening a day all related to avoiding bloodshed to these lost boys having little to no understanding of their enemy. Being young enough to be misdirect by ego, Yuri had decided to spare them for a few times ever since just by restricting them with ordinary ropes. They tried doing the same thing to Yuri which they can never execute it successfully given their prowess and the room they allowed themselves for their thinking process. This is when they would usually end up with a bleeding nose or a twisted ankle. They never improved all along and will remain this way for seemingly years. It didn't take Yuri more than 5 minutes to subdue them this time. 6 of them ran at her from a single direction but was not able to catch up with her and were seperated before Yuri dealth with time one by one quickly. She wouldn't waste too much efforts for such matters anymore.

For a while, no funny incidents happened in her way as she ends up in the forest after 2 hours of walking.

In Yuri's mind, she had seen how is life of an orphan during the assignments she was given when the organization still functions. She would be alienated if she did get into one right now. Bring reality closer, the day comes faster than expected for Yuri. Sitting on a bed with the vision aided by the shiny moonlight, Yuri had decided that she should leave a piece of her opinion behind. She climbs up to the window and looked at the amount of floors for the last time. As soon as she is ready, her climb down begins. Holding onto the ledge below the window, she looked down for another and also making sure that there was no window opened in a way that would obstructed her when she goes down. Step by step as it involves avoiding difficulty going down, she would also move to the ledge beside the one she held on. It took her 20 minutes before she was finally on the second floor and finds it okay to jump down. The move was followed by a forward roll that would save her knees from breaking down. She turned back and gave the hospital one last look.

A straight fighter stood in her way of her freedom as he wields the same weapons drawn from the different positions. From the first look, it looks redundant but a few trade of blows easily defined him as someone who draws to fight. Yuri could feel the close call from every dodge in close combat. Whenever she could not evade, she would try to let the thicker side of the blade brush her skin instead. She knew if this were to continue her defense would be exhausted. She decided to run her way to the top of a tree and buy some time for ideas. But things were not going to her plan as her opponent threw a chained sword at her to slow down her advancement, confining Yuri's area of activity somewhat. Fortunately, forested area always acts as a safety charm. He retracted his sword since leaving it covered in bushes would do no good to him. Yuri took this run to go long with the retracing blade by holding it to try turning the tide by giving him less time to act from his amount of available choices. Just as she thought, her enemy would forgo doing anything with the retracting sword and plan with the others. It was a moment late as he pulls Yuri towards him as a result as well. However, he prepares his other blades in an attempt to slice Yuri with maximum amount of slashes one could try. It was Yuri's third option, one that has an unpredictable outcome. Yuri now have the grip of the chained blade in her hands after retracting the wires, she quickly threw the blade, making it reaching the enemy before she does.

The man deflected the incoming blade as it went spinning to the side losing control over the blade at the same time. If this was what Yuri only wanted, she would have planned to use the destination of the deflected blade to evade the incoming strikes totally. She opted for otherwise instead, using the chained blade to turn against its owner. Yuri went to pick the blade up and circle around him trying to beat him by pace to make him lose balance. The enemy knew the mistake and attempts to detach the chain from him, giving Yuri time to reach him and a blade to deal with him. Yuri took this chance to close in make him parry her attack. When 2 blades got into contact, Yuri turned her sword to allow the shoulder to help in parry the blade without getting hurt. This allows her to have a free hand as she tries to pull another sword from the enemy, diverting his attention. He tried to stop Yuri by freeing a hand that is holding his blade. He could not move his hand, as Yuri took the moment to bind him with his own chains temporary and made her escape.

So that was all i could say on my here. An old lady is hearing her out. It was actually the first time Yuri got so particular about her location within the 10 islands. Can you kindly tell where am i right now? The old lady smiled where else? Where else could actually have a black road stretching from being horizontal from our view to being vertical? I hope you give it a thought. As she walks away, Yuri can only say that she likes to give clues and only clues. But her steps were slow, so Yuri followed her in order to try and find out more.

On this day a group of hunters were selling their spoils in town, everything are edible insects. Yuri is not used to seeing such amount of insects shown in the market today as she goes back to her lodging and take a short nap. Short nap are always the bane of long rest. Hence, should the thoughts before sleep were deeply negative, the sleeper might experience a nightmare as Yuri was about to.

Whoever who knew of the betrayal must have been watching him for a long time. The plan wasn't fully well executed but allowed subjects to fight for their survival nevertheless. The kids made a charge for escape as a dozen of shinobi with different outfits blocked their route. Yuri tried to lead the charge but was overtaken by her partner with the first impact consisting of the strong gust of wind to start the distraction. Knowing his intention when Yuri could not, the other 2 members in the group tried to pressure the separate opponents. One of them stopped and focused on 5 identities while the other threw 6 shurikens into air. They were a second slower when a man with an abnormally long sword went for one of the neck, someone in the group would have died if it wasn't for Yuri's upward kick that made the attack past a neck by air. The man got knocked out by a fused fist that made his head bleed and lied on the ground motionlessly. However, he was avenged shortly by an incoming fireball that aimed onto the area of the group. Most of the enemies were out there executing attacks cautiously while observing the group of kids.

While given time to evade the incoming attack, the group never expected the single fireball to split into hundreds of smaller ones. Worse still, half of them had a kunai hidden in it. Except for Yuri who could only have enough time to allocate herself to handle only a small amount of fireballs, others got hit on their limps. For the boy who knocked out the first seen enemy, he had to face the most attacks given his position. With his prowess, he couldn't keep up with the pace eventually and got shot by a kunai into his neck. This was the first time the group had actually lost a member forever. However, all of them had no time to grieve as they desperately tried to hide their pain and presence sending the battlefield into a silence. Everything was going accordingly as planned by the enemy.

Poison gas starts spreading through the battlefield after several minutes. One of the them had no choice but to disperse the gas using wind release, he was out-powered as a tornado came sucking all the gas to it, beating the jutsu by the kid and re-spread the entire poison. The group had to retreat as a result but that would mean facing more opposition. To solve the current obstacle, one of them used an earth dome to cover the group before poison could be widespread by the eye again. The kids were planning a counterattack, initially giving enough time for a sand technique that distracted one of the enemies outside followed by a payback that uses sand to distract the eye's view. The distraction failed as explosives did their job to open the dome up, only to have blast a sand clone inside.

The group knew there was no chance they could win as they made a tunnel and ran for it. The plan didn't work out well as 2 of the enemies were still hot on their heels. Yuri threw a few kunai to shake off the pursuers then her partner uses it to advantage by altering its trajectory when the initial aim was expected to be missed. The sand techniques came in handy again when it trapped one of the enemy's foot for a few precious second. When the trap failed, it became a hindrance to their sight with the help of the wind release again. It was successful this time as a thin metal wires found their way to their foot from a distance of 50 meters. These wires were accompanied by the 2 explosive tags. An explosion happened the next moment in the midst of a running battle for escape. The front runner of the group fell into a trap moments later when she tripped and got electrocuted by a strike of propelled lightning nearly knocking her out but enough to made her stagger, there was no time to help her to get her feet up as Yuri gets her on her back and ran for it. Many knew that Yuri would be the target now as they tried to get into formation.

The group ran for another 200 meters before meeting resistance. A gigantic wave of water mixed with lightning came rushing towards them. It was blocked by an earth wall for a short moment for everyone to get up to the trees before the wall was blown into pieces. Before they could look up, one of them was hit by 2 shurikens at his right arm. They had no choice but to hide again as the adults took this opportunity to close into them. Yuri's partner knew where they were coming as he produced a slice of wind at the direction enemies are coming from. It was too slow as the group was soon fully exposed. An earth dome was produced again to protect them. But this time it depleted one of their chakra pools as he fainted after the technique.

The enemies simply waited outside for the lightning release to neutralize the dome. As for the kids inside, they were running out of ideas and only 5 of them were left standing. Each of them knew that there were no way out since both earth users were down. It was then that they found out that something is wrong around them, Yuri was very pale all of a sudden. Her partner went up to her as he looked at her. There was no pupil in her eyes. he could not think of anything before all of them inside overheard the enemies running off. He left Yuri and went out to take a look. There was no time left to run. The incoming attack signal the end of the battle as 2 explosion with blast radius of 8 miles silenced lots of lives, friends and foes alike.

The Rainy morning saw the day where freedom was finally in their grasp in a different way for each fighters that fought yesterday.

Its not as though time travels very fast. The day still shines through the windows to indicate that sleeping more would mean the night will be harder to get by.
