The Three Brothers Grimm... AND FREE MAGIC SHOW
Thu Oct 22, 2015 7:31 pm
A fresh morning to a whole new day sure to be filled with magic of all kinds. Hato awoke in his rather fancy bed in comparison to his brothers. Nothing made him happier than seeing that something he had was more intricate or expensive than another person's. It wasn't as though he enjoyed it because he thought of everyone else around him as peasants; it were simply that he enjoyed the fine arts, such as magic. Hopping out of his bed, the covers flew into the air, seemingly melding into his outfit. Once he were standing however, it became clear that he had in fact just worn his suit to bed and was using his cape to keep warm. "Brothers!" He yelled quite loudly "Awaken, and come with me to the training grounds! I have a few tricks I'd like to practice." Hato said as he begun a light jog down the hall adjacent to his room, cape flying everywhere annoyingly as possible before he got the door and bashed it open as forcefully as possible to create the necessary dramatic effect for those on the street. "Fear not citizens, you are safe in my presence." He said calmly just as he turned and began to run down the street towards the training grounds. The sun was incredibly annoying, and the fact that he wore a black tuxedo and cape at all times certainly didn't help with the heat, or the sand for that matter. Still, he had to be ready to give a show at any moment in case someone was in distress.
Only a few minutes later and Hato had arrived at the training grounds, looking to his make-shift stage that he created out of all the wood he could possibly find in his travels through the Wind Country. Needless to say, he hasn't seen a whole tree in years, though that might just be a bout of horrible luck. The stage wasn't his destination today though. He was planning on practicing these tricks in one of the more secluded corners of the training grounds so that nobody would get a sneak peak save for his brothers. While waiting on his brothers to wake up and get their lazy asses to the grounds, he begun to practice all on his own. This trick actually involved using his chakra to a certain degree, and most certainly would put the viewers in awe. He instantly begun to form chakra around his finger-tip, making a sort of ball that floated just off the tip of his finger. This wasn't even close to what the whole thing was however. Pointing his finger to the ground, the ball flew somewhat slowly towards it before striking and.... nothing happening "What?! That can't be right, I'm the greatest magician this side of the Wind Country!" He yelled in frustration. I'll figure you out damn it Hato thought as he once more begun to form the ball at the tip of his finger.

Kariya awoke to a very familiar sound at this point, his older brother screaming to him and the youngest of them about random nonsense. This time however it was about training, something Kariya could usually get behind if it weren't for Hato being so damn annoying since he studied under those monks. However, he had to admit, whatever those monks did for him, they definitely made him powerful, though not in the same way as himself and his younger brother. Hato instead, had a chakra that was unnervingly potent compared to the average person. His physical power however was laughable at best, which indeed made Kariya laugh from time to time, if simply to piss off his older brother. Rolling out of bed he would slowly exit the house, watching Hato run down the street screaming like a fool, something he did often. "Damn it Hato" he mumbled quietly as he followed, easily catching up to Hato. Following behind him they would pass by the stupid stage he had built and ended up in one of the grounds corners. This is where Hato had performed something unseen by Kariya, Hato had formed his chakra into a ball, a ball powerful enough to be seen with the human ball. Sure, samurai coated their blades with visible chakra all the time, but Hato, did not exactly have the same discipline and training of a samurai. He was a damn magician after all, he was only supposed to be able to hide doves in his sleeves as they shit on his forearms. The normally embarrassing older brother had become something more, possibly a powerhou-.
Kariya was cut off in his thought as the ball of chakra fell to the ground, doing absolutely nothing. Every bit of respect Hato had just received was now gone to the wind as his impressive technique had turned out to be nothing more than another stupid trick. "Still struggling with those tricks huh Hato?" he spoke quietly, a bit frustrated with how his brother woke him for this stupid failure.

Hoan layed in bed sleeping like a log. His bed was the same size as his brothers making it a bit less comfortable because of his size. His feet hung off the end of the bed and his shoulders were nearly as wide as the mattress making it where he couldn't roll over or he wouuld fall off. Unfortunately his slumber was disburbed by a rather familiar annoying voice, his brother Hato's. Slightly startled by the loud voice Hoan rolled over and fell out of bed with a rather loud bang shaking the whole room. After rolling over onto his back Hoan would sit up and rub the sleep from his eyes while only halfway understanding what Hato was going on about. Seeing Kariya get up and head out behind Hato got the message across though, it was time to do some training. Standing up and walking down the hall Hoan stopped and watched Hato and Kariya walk out the door. For a second he thought about just going back to bed, but the odds of that happening after all the ruckess little to none. So he decided to at least grab some food before heading out and stuffed it in a pouch as he followed his older brothers to the training grounds.
Reaching the training grounds he saw the stage Hato had built for his magic shows and chuckled a bit at how sad it looked. Once they reached the secluded area Hato had led them too Hoan began to stretch and get ready for the training to come. While he did this he watched Hato performing some trick he had never seen him attempt before. It was rather impressive until it completely fell apart and Hato's words showed that this must be something new he was practicing explaining his excitement he had getting up this morning. Hoan began to get nice and loose from his stretching something the desert heat helped with a lot. "Okay guys when do we get started?"

This trick was going to be the center-piece to his shows from now on if he got it working, and seeing as his shows were his life, Hato would not fail. He begun to focus on the ball at his finger-tip intently before Kariya stepped in. His comment left Hato aghast with shock. How could his own brother doubt the endless power that he himself had witnessed hundreds of times? "I never have trouble. This is simply a show of failure to inspire the young ones and let them know that even the greatest of people, such as myself, can make mistakes from time to time. Witness my true abilities!" Hato said in his little monologue, trying to hide the failure as a lesson for the children even though they weren't actually anywhere near anyone else, let alone children. "Hoozah!" Hato yelled as he formed the ball at the tip of his finger once more, the ball being slightly larger and brighter than the previous one. Extending his arm forward and pointing it towards a rock, Hato released the ball, which did not fall straight to the ground this time, instead shooting forward with relative haste. Once the ball struck the rock a small green circle begun to form, growing larger and larger until it ultimately collapsed on itself. Another failure! How is this possible! Hato thought, a worrisome expression coming upon his face. What if he couldn't do it? What if Hato was not in fact the greatest magician this side of the wind country? These beliefs were completely unfounded in reality, as he had already gotten the basics of what he were trying to do with the trick down in a mere two attempts. His patience wasn't exactly the greatest of the three however, meaning he only really did something so long as he saw noticeable and massive improvement over each try.
With the new attempt having failed, he noticed Hoan whom had just begun to speak, wondering when they were going to get 'started'. "When are we going to get started? Why I've already begun! Witness the impossi-" He said, realizing that his magic show instincts had kicked in and he was getting ready to start a show in front of his brothers and no-one else. A small crowd was unacceptable, and thus he saw the reasoning behind Hoan's statement. He wanted Hato to practice his tricks WITH them rather than in front of them. "Well, I expect to see some new tricks from you two. I've already developed my greatest creation yet! Though.... I think I remember somebody else doing something like this." Hato said, partly speaking to himself as he attempted to remember where he had gotten the idea for the trick he were working on. Perhaps it were one of the lesser magicians he had met in the past. Regardless, he needed to get some practice in on these tricks with his brothers. If they didn't have something new then Hato would be forced to develop twice the amount of tricks as usual just to show them up. Hato then jumped back some ten meters before pulling out a cheap cane, which was more a stick painted black than anything else. After the tuxedo and tophat he didn't exactly have much money left. "Prepare yourselves!"

Kariya rolled his eyes as his older brother began with his stupid speeches again before firing off another ball of chakra. Oddly however, it didn't fail like he had expected, it actually shot forward. Not extremely fast, but still impressive. Hitting an object off in the distance it created something odd, something Kariya had never seen before. As Kariya expected however, it failed once again. It was those damn monks that made Hato like this. They had turned the oldest brother in a family of proud samurai into a man who could do little more than card tricks and a few techniques he had learned from the shinobi. Sighing loudly Kariya would look over to Hato as he brandished his cane. Now, his brother had fucked up, showing he was willing to spar with his physically superior brothers was foolish. However it was something they all had not done together in quite some time. Perhaps this encounter would remind Kariya of their childhood. When they would gather sticksand spar with them, breaking them over each others bodies to train them against pain as well as devloping their blade skills. However, Hato had diverged from the path of a samurai. At one point Hato was the best of them all, but this new persona that he has taken on could have possibly made him far less skilled. Regardless however, Kariya could not disrespect his elder brother in such a way as refusing him a spar.
Pulling a large, roughly katana length stick from his kimono he would hold it firmly with both hands. Taking a stance similar to that of kendo, Kariya would stare down his older brother, waiting for him to make some kind of move. However, he would still pay close attention to Hoan, as leaving him any kind of opening would be foolish to say the least. "Attack when you are ready brothers, just know that this is a free for all" he spoke calmly. His stance did not waver one bit, regardless of what either of his brothers did. He planned on only getting involved once both of them had made their first moves, prefering to react and counter.

Standing still and watching Hato perform his trick again he noticed a big difference in how well it worked. It didn't just fall limp and lifeless to the ground it actually shot forward and looked to be increasing in strength until it reached a nearby rock and fizzled out. It was about then that Hato took notice of what Hoan had said and jumped away raising his cane at Hoan and Kariya. It semed the spar was going to begin right now and unfortunately Hoan had forgotten his training stick and was the only one who was unarmed. Either way he wasn't about to miss out on this session and moved away from Kariya to a postion that left an equal distance between all of them in the shape of a triangle. Hoan rolled down the top half of robes and it hang from his waist revealing his massive and defined upper body. Seeing as Hoan had no weapon on him he would have to fight with his hands making it necessary for him to counter and get in close for any possibility of getting hits in. Hoan decided he would take a defenive stance he had learned while being trained as a samurai that specialized in defending against blades when unarmed. Nodding at both of his brothers Hoan was ready to spar and show that he was now the strongest of the brothers even when they had an advantage over him.

As usual, Hato's brothers were leaving the hard work to himself, forcing him to even begin the spar that THEY wanted. "So I see. Let your fear of my awesome power not hold you back, brothers. Engarde!"dHe yelled as he begun to run towards the center of the triangle they seemed to have formed between them. Hato tossed his cane into the air so he could form the seals for one of the most basic jutsu a ninja can use, the clone. Of course, it were practically useless in the sense that it couldn't actually physically fight either of them. It could, however, keep them at bay long enough for him to get off some sort of combination that would incapacitate them if he were lucky. Finishing the seals as he reached the center, Hato was surrounded by a large puff of smoke, followed by two of himself dashing out in either direction towards his brothers. Little did they know, probably, that he were simply standing in the still dissipating smoke and preparing his ultimate attack! They didn't stand a chance against this thing that he was going to do... Or as usual he simply got himself into a situation between a rock and a hard place without thinking out what he were going to do beforehand.
Meanwhile, the clones were rushing towards his brothers and trying their best to rush around them in circles since they couldn't actually do anything else. Really they were just a hopeful distraction to keep them away from him, or possibly lead them into each other. Assuming either of them were actually struck, nothing would happen since his brothers' attacks would just go straight through them. Assuming they both had a basic knowledge of the academy jutsu, it were likely after the first attempt to hit them they would realize what it were.

And so it had begun, all of them had taken their places and the battle of brothers was about to begin. Standing an equal distance from his older and younger brother he watched Hato perform a set of handseals. From what he knew of his brothers abilities and of basic jutsu he could tell one thing. These were in fact not solid clones, as they did not posess a shadow, meaning they were not physical copies. The handseals of the technique were also familiar to him, and thus this helped in quickly deducing the jutsu being used. It was sad really, the oldest sibling had fallen so low as to use cheap shinobi tricks in an attempt to win. There was one thing that bothered him however, he had no clue where Hato had gone. Not knowing if he had ran off somewhere else or had simply stayed in the same position, Kariya would turn to his younger brother, Hoan.
He was the largest and seemingly most physically adept, however, he was only on par with Kariya himself. This was perfect for an equal spar, but sadly Hoan had not brought any training weapon with him, and that meant he was at a disadvantage. Bursting forward at a speed of 60 speed he would take one powerful, horizontal strike at Hoan with his stick. Of course, his movement being so quick, Hoan might find trouble in effectively countering it, however it was by no means impossible, as Hoan was a rather well trined samurai after all. As for Hato, Kariya remained aware of his last known location and continued to scan for him elsewhere. Not wanting to be caught of guard by the trickster of the brothers, as that would only embarass him as the eldest samurai in the group of brothers.
