How Do You Do? (P, NK, IO)

Roy's whole appearance seemed to be dead for a few moments. He was really missing his family and was bent on restoring the love between him and his parents. For that, he needed to become a better ninja. Maybe that is why he had been pushing himself as hard as he was lately. One slip up could eventually severe the connection bridge that he still has with them.

Makoto's words seemed to reveal her sympathy towards him. As much as Roy's mood could change from energetic to depressing, he hated seeing others try to sympathize with him. What he did like was how she tried to change the subject. Royalty really needed that. As she asked her question, he looked up towards her face.

"Well, that is a bit complicated to be quite fair.........Let's just say I am 18. How about you Makoto?" Roy did not want to get too much into it. The complication had been about the aging pills he had taken not too long ago. His body was still getting adjusted to the rapid puberty growth. One side effect of the pills is that it evolved everything but the mind. In his head he was still a 13 year old boy but it was not too noticeable as he was very mature for his age. He might crack a few jokes here and there but when it came down to it, he knew when to change his attitude.

"I'm 16, but I'll be turning 17 near the end of this month." Makoto replied. The topic wasn't as awkward as it played out in her head. Quickly changing the subject once again she asked, "So you mentioned that you returned with your friend. Kyson, was it? How come you're spending your morning here with me and not with him?"  

(Sorry for the short post :( brain is blocking my creativity at the moment)

"That is great to hear. I will be sure to wish you a happy birthday when I see you." Royalty had not been really keeping track of time. He was unclear to what month it was either way. Roy was still looking at Makoto as she asked another question. The girl was indeed curious but it was better than her shrugging him off. He had hoped that with him, she would not feel as if she doesn't really have any friend. He tried to make it easy for anyone to socialize with him.

"Well, Kyson is asleep as far as I know. Either that or he is somewhere training. We have just recently finished a spree of missions and we have been getting a lot of things done. Our goal is to just grow as individuals, you know? We also love protecting and serving the ones we love most." Roy's answer was sincere. He hoped that hearing this, Makoto would have a better understanding of him. The first impression he had left off was did not go too well.

(It's cool. There's barely enough to go off of to actually make large posts until we leave the restaurant. So it'll gradually get better.)

"Training, huh? I should probably get to work on that," Makoto said chuckling. "I'm a bit lazy when it comes to training. I spend most of my time building puppets, well, just one puppet at the moment I suppose. The process has been taking longer than I anticipated." Makoto felt that she was talking about herself too much. "You guys seem pretty intense. Although, I can respect your goals. They are very noble," she said with a smile. 

Makoto finished her meal. Her and Roy chatted for awhile longer. Before they knew it a time had passed. It was noon now, and after hours of talking, Makoto had felt a slight bond forming between her and Roy. Could this be a start to a new friendship? She was unsure but she also didn't want to return home at that moment. For once she didn't want to return to her home and work on her puppet. After all she did say that she should take a break from it for a day or so.

Royalty had liked that Makoto was now seeing how he could truly be. He had not known what came into him the way her had first approached her. Just his inner child seeping out it seemed. While she was talking, Roy's stomach had growled again. It was not loud enough to disturb her speech, but Roy definitely noticed it. He tried not to show any real signs of it. When she was finished, Roy had replied to her.

"Thank you. I appreciate that. But I wouldn't say we are too intense. Or maybe that's just me being modest. I'm not sure. I have done a few things I was not used to however. Feel like it is changing me." Before he could speak some more, the waiter had returned noticing that Makoto was finished with her food. Roy picked up his glass of water and pretty much downed the whole glass in huge gulps. It was refreshing.

"So I take it you guys are done?" said the waiter.

"Yes, thank you," said Royalty. The waiter grabbed the plate of Makoto and the two glasses that we on the table. He placed the check down on the table.

"Anything else?" said the waiter?

"Yes, could I please have a burger to go? Thank you," said Royalty.

"Very well sir," said the waiter as he left with the dishes and went back to the kitchen. 

Royalty then turned his attention back to Makoto after pulling out his wallet from his back pocket. He pulled out the necessary amount to pay for their meals and left a generous tip.

"Well, since you feel you need to get to training, how about it?" Roy knew that Kyson had been training others. It was time that Roy did the same. Although, it felt kind of weird seeing as he was just a student to his uncle about a month or so ago.

Roy graciously paid for Makoto's meal. "Thanks for breakfast," she said with a smile. He kindly asked if she wanted to train with him, it had been awhile since she had done anything other than working on puppets. "Sure, I wouldn't mind training with you. Hell, I certainly need it." Makoto wanted to take the Chuunin exams eventually, and the training would certainly help at improving her skills as a shinobi. "I'm not sure how you could help me though... No offense, but I only really use puppets, and I'm not exactly a master at that yet either..." 

Roy and Makoto got out of their seats and walked out of the restaurant. She activated her chakra threads, attaching them to Daichi. The three of them left the restaurant and began walking down the dusty streets of Suna, towards the training grounds.

Makoto agreed to a training session with Royalty. He felt a bit of nostalgia from when he and Ashura used to do a lot of training and mentoring. This certainly felt like a big turn of events. As the two were walking out of the restaurant, Roy grabbed his burger and ate it in his hand while on the way to the training grounds. He finished it rather fast without getting too sloppy with it. After he was finished, he turned to Makoto to reply to her statements.

"Well, to be honest, I do not know a wick about puppetry. I am a Medical and Taijutsu user. I am pretty sure we could find a medium? You certainly would not want to rely solely on Daichi. You need to learn how to fight by yourself. I could teach you some basic things. They won't be too special but we could work on your speed and other components of becoming a great ninja." Royalty smiled at Makoto as he then turned his attention to the training grounds before them. The field they had been in was about half the size of a football field. There were 4 cylinder sand pillars in each corner that stood about 3 meters. The terrain was nothing but hot sand as the sun shined brightly upon them.

The fiery sun blazed down on Makoto and Roy as they arrived at the sandy training grounds. She could feel the hot sand below her feet, even when she was wearing shoes. Roy told Makoto that he didn't know anything about puppets but he was skilled in Taijuts and Medical jutsu. She knew she couldn't rely on Daichi for physical combat, and would have to strengthen herself up if she wanted to become Chuunin. "I guess you're right, I could work on improving my speed, strength, and stamina. Taijutsu may be the best option to learn right now, I suck with hand to hand combat. Maybe you could teach me a few things. Where should I start?" 

As Makoto was speaking, Roy had been already thinking about which techniques would be suitable for her to learn. It reminded him of when he learned his first Taijutsu technique which had been the Leaf Whirlwind. Since Roy had started with that, he figured that would be a great way to start her off. It was not too hard of a technique. In fact, it was quite easy. Roy had it down pact the first try. After she was finished, Roy spoke.

"To start off, I will be teaching you a move called Leaf Whirlwind. It is indeed a popular taijutsu that dates hundreds of years back." Royalty jogged over to one of the sand pillars and then turned back to face Makoto. 

"Using this technique utilizes a series of kicks that start from higher up and gradually get lower. The idea of this is to distract your opponent with the high kicks to increase the success rates of the lower ones. I will demonstrate." Royalty backed up a few and crouched very slightly. Holding his fists at waist level with his fingers facing upwards, he rushed at the pillar. Using this granted him a speed of 140. Once he was close enough, he jumped into the air and pivoted his body so that his back was facing the ground. He kicked the pillar at a height of around 5 feet while switching which foot he kicked with interchangeably. His kicks got lower and lower as he finished with a left kick at a height of around 3 feet before using the sand pillar to push off and perform a back flip and land on his feet. After he was finished, he turned to Makoto.

"There you go, that is the Leaf Whirlwind. It isn't really nothing fancy but it's a start. How about you try now?" Royalty looked at her while trying to catch his breath. Though, he had not been anywhere near exhausted.

Makoto stood back as she watched Roy perform the Taijutsu technique called the "Leaf Whirlwind." His moves were frightening yet graceful. He walked back over to Makoto and told her to give it a try. Taijutsu wasn't her area of expertise, but she felt that she needed to at least give it a try. She sat Daichi down leaning him against the nearest pillar. "Take a rest bud," she said with a smile. Makoto walked back to Roy, and got in the stance that he had taken to perform the technique. She took a deep breath in, and charged towards the pillar that Roy had stricken. She focused her chakra into her feet to gain a little more momentum, and jumped a few feet into the air. She turned slightly, striking the pillar at the height of her jump with the heel of her right foot. Then she turned in the air 180 degrees striking the pillar just below the first impact with her left foot. And finally came to the bottom of the pillar hitting it once again with the back of her right foot in a sweeping motion. Makoto stood up from her crouched position, breathing heavily. She looked back at Roy and asked, "How was that?" She felt like she had done hardly any work but her face was drenched in sweat. It must have been from the heat.
