Wolf's Blood

Salzem walked through Suna, pushing past few a few denizens running in the opposite direction. Many were panicked, frenzied. running down anything and anyone to get away from the creature up ahead. Salzem helped those who'd fallen near him, though constantly advancing against the tide of bloodied/terrified villagers. Some had bite marks upon their flesh, bloody, torn, swollen. It was as if a rabid animal had torn into them. Salzem's basic medical knowledge told him that none of the wounds were fatal and probably could make it to the Suna Hospital. The concerned Missing Ninja pushed his way through the remainder of the panicked crowd, coming face to face with the mongrel responsible. It was a large dog. Very large. At least 4 feet tall and highly muscular. Its eyes glowed a sickly red and drool and blood poured from its snarling maw. It's fur was matted and black, blood splattered across it like paint. It seemed to gurgle at him and sputter something resembling a bark before charging at Salzem head on, waving its head left and right crazily. Salzem was unprepared for the beast's sudden attack and was barreled into, causing Salzem to be thrown to the ground with the mad dog on top. Salzem growled in shock and tried to raise his arms but found his right was pinned underneath the dog's massive paw. The dog threw it's head at Salzem's throat, snapping madly. in an act of desperation, Salzem raised his other, free arm in front of the dog's face and it went straight for the bait, snapping around Salzem's forearm with a bite-force so great, Salzem yelled in agony. The beast threw it's head left, then right, intent on tearing his arm from its socket as fast and brutally as it could. Salzem growled, then roared as he tore his arm free of the beasts maw, kicking it away with a feverish grunt. He looked down at his torn arm, various puncture wounds, torn strips of flesh... blood everywhere. His breathing was shaky, uneven... His body shivered horribly at the gruesome sight that was his arm. He could feel whatever disease the dog had coursing through him... it felt unnatural... evil... he felt it course up his arm and into his chest, already past amputation in the first couple of seconds. The Dog wasn't down yet though. Not by a long shot. It lunged at Salzem again, same as before, but Salzem was ready. He stepped back, letting the dog's head snap in front of his chest. Then, he brought his arm and knee up in an intersection method, crushing the beast's neck and throat. It went down with a gurgle, dead before it hit the ground. Salzem pushed the dog's body away from him with his foot and stared at his arm in horror. In the seconds it took to deal with the dog, it had gone from red and irritated to inflamed maroon and nasty purple around the bite. He couldn't help but stare at it in horror but also marvel at the swiftness of the infection. He was already finding it hard to focus... his sense of balance distorted... the world was spinning and Salzem's vision began to swim. He fell to one knee, groaning softly, clutching his wounded arm and shivering as his body sent blood to the wound, chilling the rest of his body. Slowly, his vision returned and he slowly stood up on his to his feet, stumbling forward sickly. He needed to get to a hospital.... he needed a hospital fast...
