(Letter to Snow) Goodbye... Doing it Right

Salzem sat at a small wooden desk with a pencil in one hand, holding the paper down with the other. He was going to be leaving suna again, and this time, he was letting Kira know. With the words in his head, he began to write them down quickly, but neatly.

Kira,

I'm moving again. Soon. This time, I'm letting you know because you deserve to know. I'm going to help an acquaintance of mine. There is no telling how long I'll be gone. You've been a close friend to me, helped me adjust to life in the sand and acted as my conscience when I needed it.

Salzem paused there, tapping the pencil tip against the side of his head while he tried to think of what to say next.

I'm writing this to you now because I don't know if I'll be coming back, even though I fully intend too... and because you deserve to know. I wish to say that you've made my time in Sunagakure worth sharing and I hope we'll see each other again. Under better circumstances than those last couple of times. You've not seen me at my best recently. I hope that strain of bad luck ends soon. For both of us.



 
With this letter written, Salzem folded it up and walked it to the Suna Post Office to be mailed, proper address and stampage in tow. He slipped it into the box and went about his day, not sure how he felt. On the one hand, he was excited for a potential home he helped build with his own hands. On the other, he didn't want to leave Kira like this... He hoped desperately that he'd see her again before he left. He really did.
