Is still training, will still be alone
Sun Apr 17, 2016 12:46 am
Taking down petty ones, moving alongside animals and getting more small self-assigned missions to be done certainly helped Yuri in her growth as she could feel her constant improvement on her pace has allowed her to regain her former speed. Still, her chakra pool and might is lacking. As she reflects upon her progress, a brute was rushing straight at her without the knowledge of his enemy. Yuri simply ducked his first grapple and countered by striking him on his left arm joint that connected his arm to the torso. Nightfall is coming, the man flexed his left arm for a moment and rushed straight at Yuri again. Yuri quickly grabbed the nearest object on her right as a rubbish bin was sent flying towards the brute to keep it as a distraction. The brute simply punched it aside and the rubbish came flying out in front and all over him. Yuri could take this moment to get away from him. Instead, she simply moved to his right and sweep him from below. With no real impact on him, the brute merely hopped a few steps to his left before he vision found Yuri again. Yuri still had the advantage of speed and took a few steps back quickly to prepare for his incoming charge.
The brute was so near to the wooden pole that he used it as a makeshift staff instead rushing at Yuri and followed by strikes with extended reach, Yuri was forced on the defensive as there is no way she could get to him as quick as the previous attempt. However, she could get further away from as her back approaches the wall. She turned and ran on the walls to dodge his thrust attack that broke the wooden pole into half. Yuri saw her chance as it means that now he had to get nearer to her due to the shortened pole. However, the brute grabbed the piece that broke off and decided that dual wielding is his next pattern of attack as Yuri jumps off the wall and touch down to the ground again to see the brute catching his breath.
The brute did not stop, she didn't know why. It was as though she took something that meant a lot to him. As he came charging again, the chance to communicate flew away as Yuri is now facing extended strikes that comes faster than the previous attempt by the brute. This no counter plan in Yuri's mind yet as she continued dodging with her speed advantage. With both swings that got both of the brute's arms to his right. Yuri did a kick on his left arm to prevent him from coming at Yuri for a few more swings. It gave Yuri the time to back off from him quickly as she ran up the walls to get to the roof, losing the brute in the process. He did lose her trail, but not for long as she was looking around on the roof, she could see his hand getting to the roof. She ran, from that direction so that she could reach the next roof to leave a gap to test him. As he also got to the roof as well, he could see the gap to get to Yuri. Feeling that he could easily make it through, the brute gave chase. But letting him cross the roof was not part of her part, she moved in opposite direction and gave him a kick to his head. Anticipating that he will try to get a hold of her since her attacks does not have much effect on him, her attacking leg had to do a quick return so that his reflexes will never find the correct spot. But, by landing a kick on him midair also means that she would drop together if she didn't do anything to prevent herself from falling. The brute did not regain balance as he fell down from the roof, he did made attempts to drag Yuri together by trying to grab onto her legs. However, Yuri gave him attention elsewhere from where he he would catch her first by kicking him at his lower right arm. it prevented him from reaching Yuri in time since his left hand was still out in the air to his left and Yuri was able to use it to propel herself a few steps forward back to the roof. This much of a movement made Yuri's hair a mess as she could not allow herself to drop down to get hold of the hairpin that she picked from the street this morning.
The man did not land without any form of cushion, what made the clothes dry in the bright sun saved him from certain cripple as he got hold of the falling hairpin and loss all fighting spirit that he had garnered at Yuri from the start. Yuri look down at him and saw him smiling as he lose hold of his consciousness, Yuri figured out that she should have get going with finding the owner of the hairpin earlier in the day. Having to forget to do something as simple led her to this. Though it seems unnecessary, it felt as though it was a hint from the heaven that raw pace was no longer enough to keep her going. She need to expand her chakra and might in order to allow her from getting more control on her pace, she could feel her legs getting sore from all the sudden stopping during her movement during her runs. She simply walked away assuming that the man would clear up the mess for himself. The night is still young, she went back to the where the noises usually are, where technology advancement of Kirigakure made lights from all over the city shine in a file parallel to each other, as though they were made for a grand arrival of a certain figure a few times larger than a normal human. for the rest of the night.

Re: Is still training, will still be alone

Followed by a fight due to a hairpin, Yuri got herself into moving from opposite roof to another. Not the best in Kirigakure to be performing that, Yuri have not tried that for a long time. However, the light ganged up to be her enemy this time as its brightness prevented certain angles that would allow Yuri to make turns quicker. Nights are not suited for training heights but the senses used would allow one to avoid traps from heights. Its not a very daunting task but could prove to be fatal if a mistake was made in the midst of action. Confused for a moment, Yuri simply sat down on the roof and focused.
Yuri got up early in the mourning and walked to the training ground. He went to the middle of the field and looked at the rare blue bird that touched down on a tree branch. Today it was her enemy and as it would seem they were going to be fighting. She allowed the bird to gain attention on him. As it did Yuri drew her weapon with a goal in her head. However, a stone beside her began to grow and flow the opponent as it flew up. as it flew up higher another branch from the tree came out. This thing was meant to follow the enemy or opponent for a long time. the bird flew to the left and the rocks followed. It then went down and so did the rocks. Yuri stopped the move by breaking what would look like a rocky ledge. Yuri went out to find a real opponent. She found two of the other trainees that were raring for a spar with him. She agreed and they began to fight. As they did Yuri saw the same rock as the two boys made clones and ran toward him. Yuri was a little puzzled on why the earth is following her as the rock began to grow. They jumped and it expanded quickly stabbing one of the two clones. it grew faster and quicker and got the others. Then the originals came from the ground and jumped Yuri but she had the advantage of speed and won. Yuri smiled and began to walk away as the both trainees felt like they were being played by an unknown enemy. Reluctantly accepting defeat, they asked if they could spar with Yuri again. having no answers in mind, she smiled at them and left. As she walked back to her lodging she said under her breath.
Well i hope to be out from here soon enough , i don't think i'm cut for such activities.
I beg to differ.
She looked around for the voice and what she saw was a another trainee just like her, she figured mother earth wasn't as biased to tip the combat in her favor.
Yuri forgot that she isn't lying on her bed but a random roof, unknowingly sleeping from focus.
Yuri woke up somewhat early and ate some breakfast with many other trainees together. About an hour later she decided she would do some stamina, and strength training, so she got properly dressed and went outside. She started going off to the training grounds like everybody did. Yuri went out to the training grounds and looked around to see that most of the trainees was on the area training as well do maybe she could have a partner to help her train. Yuri didn't see anyone like her in particular so she decided to start training on her own. She took out some weights that where about 15 lbs and she had four of them. Yuri strapped one of the weights to her left arm, another to her right. She also tied one of them to her left ankle and then to her right. Yuri then took a knife out of her pouch and put it in a sheath strapped onto her pants. Yuri stood up and picked er arms up and crosses them. Yuri slowly walked up to a tree and looked up at it. The tree had a lot of branches so that she did not have to channel her chakra to her feet to walk up the tree instead she would pull herself up with her strength alone. Yuri reaches up for one of the branches and pulls herself onto the tree. Then, she supports herself with her feet and starts running up the tree pulling herself up along the tree. She got about half way to the top of the tree she rested on a branch as she was breathing heavily and was sweating. Yuri took only a 5 minute break and started back going up the tree with the weights attached to her body as it started weighing her down as she started getting more and more tired. But Yuri was determined to get to the top, she finally got to the top and she was just about completely worn out and breathing quite heavily and was sweating a lot. She took some water from her pouch and drank it, then with her knife she marked the top of the tree to tell that she has been there. When she was up at the top she looked down at the training grounds and smirked, she looked for a tree but one taller than the one she had already climbed, and she spotted one. Yuri smirked again and started coming down from the tree. Yuri jumped from the top branch and landed on a smaller one breaking it from the force of the weights and continued falling down... Yuri was fallen half way down the tree before she slammed into the branch that she was resting on. She paused her progression for a moment and lied on the branch to think of a way to get down the other branches without breaking them due to her weights. Yuri got an idea and slowly stood up on the branch. Yuri put her body and hands on the tree and channeled her chakra to her hands and feet. and she slowly made her way to the bottom of the tree, she walked over to her starting point and sat down panting.
Yuri was shocked that she had slept on the roof for so long.
Yuri stood up again and continued to look at the night life of Kirigakure streets. It is not very surprising to catch the sight of endless horizon since the land does not span as wide as the other countries did. She heard rowdy noises below her shortly.
She saw a group of thugs terrorizing the civilians , disrupting the peaceful nightlife giving a halt to the niceties exchanged across the streets. Yuri looked at them carefully and asked herself for why did these gangsters think that in a well guarded ninja village like this, they could get away with crimes? Did they believe the crimes they committed were too small to be attended too? Well, not that Yuri cared about that anyway. These hooligans would be delivered justice, and kicked out of this village, they could always come back again to amuse her. If only she had the resources alone to fight outnumbered.
Yuri hasn't expended all her energy to the previous fight, she felt that she could go at it again if she wanted to. But charging in head-on is not her style. She'll have to wait for the correct moment. She required the thugs to be more spread out trying to send fear to the civilians. Besides that not, she also wondered how likes of those got into the village. This is something the guards can handle, unless there were no guards which would contradict her impression of the village being well guarded. The night certainly helps as the winds brushes her, regaining her mood and energy without getting sapped of them just by standing around. The thugs were busy getting themselves worked as commands were exchanged in a loose manner.
Not the best day to be fighting such a force but necessary, Yuri looked out for the leader amongst. As everyone wore different outfits, it was hard to tell and using height for such a purpose had been history. Sadly, her red outfit was holding her back since it made contrast with darkness even though its not the brightest colour in the night. There is no way she could go for a change at this moment since the civilians need her. So, she looked for the weakest area of thugs instead, deducing that a systematic takeout would be more effective. She had to close in to her prey.
She started off with the thugs furthest behind from those shouting at the front. Her flicker wouldn't help much. But she did it anyway for surprise. There were four of them, the first in her mind did not have the chance to react as Yuri kicked his head at the back and he flew to a stall's front unconscious, she made for cover again before she was seen. The others only saw him lying on the ground and started shouting again as though they found a new enemy. Evading their attention, Yuri made for the second guy from his back after the attention was dispersed again as one of them went to help their fallen member. Yuri flanked him with a short wooden pole at his left eye with another flicker and headed for cover again. The hit was enough to get her target on his fours clueless of what just happened. This time, Yuri could tell their purpose when she overheard their purpose at the streets. The main target is nowhere around and is waiting for a diversion of forces to happen.
She now knows where their masterminds was hiding out. They chose the slums of Kirigakure, which was left untouched for quite some time. From her calculations, she was about 20 minutes from crossing from the good to the bad. Yuri was amazed at how the slums even managed to exist, even if it was such a small part of the village. Plus, she always remembered that specific part being bad. Why didn't she thought about it before taking out 2 thugs? Gritting her teeth, she knew she would have to do something about that. This part of Kiri had to change.
Entering the slums, no one actually bothered her at all. It was entirely possible, although they weren't shinobi, that they could still tell the difference in agenda given Yuri's outfit, contrasting with all others. While she didn't actually plan on killing anyone unless they attacked, it served as a tactic to ward them off necessary conflict, and it would probably work on the gangsters unless one of them saw right through Yuri. Five minutes later, she kicked down what she could identify as the door where the masterminds are hiding, walking in as if it were her own house.
All six of them were chilling in the living at the time, and were surprised, and a little annoyed that Yuri barged in in such a way. Just as they prepared to try and beat her up by standing up. Yuri took the first guy out by breaking the table in front of her with a head on her hand, not wanting to be outnumbered, she took the chair nearest to her and through it at another guy's head. He was quick to dodge but knocked out when he ducked with his head onto Yuri's knees. Another man charged at her with a swing of his blade, Yuri kicked the man on her knees to block the attack while she went for the other guy going for his weapon sending him crashing into what Yuri believed to be the closet of weapons. She quickly drew a metal pole from the weapon that flew out from the closet due to the impact. Sensing an attack already set in motion to her direction, Yuri swapped places with one of the chair and ended the fight by striking the head. Throwing the metal pole out, a window broke in the process. A method for the thugs out there to stop what they are doing and withdraw. Yuri could feel herself in action of such an activity from some point of time in her life.
It was strange, the Land of the Lightning. The land was full of inclines and declines. There were mountains everywhere. It wasn’t really a mountain range either; for mountain ranges tend to follow a relatively straight line. But these mountains peppered all of the Country. One could see lush forests and snow in the same picture from when the altitude of the mountains got so high that trees were no longer able to survive and it was so cold that snow capped off the mountain. There were rivers and streams running all throughout the mountains; between them, down their sides, and even through them in some cases.
Yuri had never seen sights like these before. She had spent most of her life in the training camp, where everything was set for her training and the only thing she was interest was her makeshift bed because she could sleep. Nothing this colorful and vibrant. Able to set out on a mission seemed to be a luxury. The Land of Lightning definitely had the most gorgeous landscape she ever saw once in a while. She marveled at what looked like the teeth of the universe and wondered if it was like this in other places too. That gave her the strange urge to travel more via missions.
But she didn’t have too long to marvel at the landscape, as she begun smelling smoke. Her head whipped in the direction that it seemed to be coming from and she surveyed the land for one moment. Between her and whatever it was, was a giant rock wall. Determining that there was no way to establish a sightline with whatever was burning, Yuri made her way to the source, wondering exactly what it was; probably a forest fire. Focusing chakra into her feet, she scaled the wall, but was she ever so wrong.
Houses burned. A small collection, far outside a city and probably outside any aid from a ninja; which meant Yuri had to help. But it didn’t take long for Yuri to realize that it wasn’t at all a natural or accidental fire, as there were people lined up outside their houses with men in masks holding them at knifepoint. She wasn’t sure if any would be hurt, or if any already were. It seemed the men in masks wanted the people out of their houses so they’d be free to search the homes for… what? Valuables? The village seemed so small and poor… there was no way there was anything valuable inside.
Hidden behind a bush, She tried to root out the man giving out orders. However, all of them were yelling at all the other men, at least, and they seemed to be listening. Yuri could not make out the leader behind them. However, with her confident speed, she took out 3 of the men by her appearance. 2 had their holding a weapon wounded while the 3rd one got sent to burn. The other men rushed at her. She evaded them in order to get those closest to danger to safety. Where a villager was close to getting grabbed for threaten, Yuri aimed for the eye with her kunai. Chaos started and all the villagers ran in different directions, Yuri pinned down another attacker and stabbed the arm with the weapon. There is no time for warning as she evaded a club swing and stabbed both arms of the attacker in no time. Next, she had to dodge a few shuriken coming at her. She was right about her gut feeling and she had to leave him for her mission partner; The plan utilised her as the decoy since she could not find the leader.
Fighting stopped at a point of time when the attackers gotten themselves a hostage. Yuri could tell the ninja within their ranks now, it was the leader at the same time as well. Checkmate She muttered to herself. As a large rock came flying towards the ninja from the back. As the ninja decides to take the hostage together with him, his katana was matched by Yuri kunai barely saving the hostage from dying by the throat. Sliding the kunai along the blade, Yuri successfully disarms the ninja and kicked him to get the hostage away from him. He fell into quicksand, the others fled. Both of them could only hope that the villagers had made it to safety. Their purpose was to get here and retrieve a hidden stash of items. Looking at the situation now, it would seems that they had to search it for themselves.
Where there was a time to be fighting side by side with others, there are times where one had to do it alone. Just like now, Yuri had to call it a day and hand it over to someone else.
Once out of the bed and from the blanket, Yuri could feel the sun's absence immediately. It almost hurts. However, it is not snowing. Yuri was relieved because necessary work will have to be done if it is.
Wow, this? Not a problem. Hmm.... Yuri looked at the task given to her for the day. She wondered why would anyone ask others for help for shoveling snow since anybody can do it. Worse, she will not be alone for this task. Subduing comes to her mind which in turn makes her task look dangerous. She would have to actually get there to take a look.
Yuri thought that some certain place must be so poor and neglected for them to be hired rather than authorized ninja. The pair arrived at the borders of Yukigakure. Yuri could certainly see snow more than humans in this village. Making matters even worse, the villagers looked as though nothing happened and continued with their daily lives. Yuri ignored that for the moment and got started with her task. Armed with only a snow shovel and her techniques which is as good as only having the snow shovel, walked to a displaced pile of snow. She stuck the snow with the shovel and lifted her first load of snow, which was instantly filled with more snow. She shoveled faster to no avail as more snow fell into the holes she made. Shoveling snow simply became a form of patience test quickly as Yuri got no clones to help her unlike her partner. She looked over and there were 2 clones helping her partner. She let out a sigh. She continued shifting the snow to the right place. About an hour of hard work give her body a signal to tell her to rest. She sat down at one of the chairs outside of a house. Her partner simply let the clones continue the work. Nothing in particular was happening for 10 minutes. Then it looked as though the snow started moving by themselves. That was when the villagers looked as though they were moving in an organized manner to their own houses, not a single sight of rushing was seen. The pair stood up. They had never seen something like this, it was as though a spirit is making its way to the world by the form of snow. The snow organized themselves into a 5 meter tall giant. It started attacking immediately by striking Yuri with a punch, snow burst forth from the ground obstructing her vision while she dodged while her partner tries to shackle the giant by the foot at the same time. The giant took a moment to notice the earth taking its foot and tried to free itself from it. Yuri could see her partner having trouble just by the giant moving its foot to free it. She threw a kunai tagged with an explosive to the giant's torso to prevent it form using its hands. It was enough for her partner to strength the grip she had over the giant's foot followed by its knees. Yuri had to keep the giant's hands distracted, striking at the upper arms of the giant, she had to be very careful because a single grip from the giant might mean serious injuries for her. Running out of explosive tags, she knew she could not risk going close any further. As the giant is finally free from Yuri's harassment, the binding earth exploded, causing snow to fly everywhere, everyone could clearly see soaring spirits as though it was the first time in their life.
Yuri headed out of her apartment.
Listening to the busy village as she expected most people to be awake she would then block out most of the noise by focusing as she prepared for training. Stretching her arm and legs, she would then first bend down and and reach her toes and start and count all the way to 10. She would then do a few arm circles from big to little and going forward then backwards counting to 10 for both as well. She would then spread her legs apart by a few inches and would raise her right arm into the air. Bending down she would then reach for her left foot toes with her right arm. She would then do the same for her left arm as she came back up and raised her left arm then bending down reaching her left arm to her right foot toes counting to 20 for both arms. She did this three more times before twisting and stretching her torso. She would then sit on the ground and extend one leg, the right leg forward and her left leg bent as if she was making a four with her legs. Reaching both arms and hands to her right leg her would stay in that position and count to 20 then switching legs and doing the same for her left leg. Standing up and stretching her torso again she would then move on to her next part of her day.
Since she had stretched her body she was ready to start the next part she would then walk around the training grounds first making her starting point which her had made for herself. As she made it back to the starting point she knew what path she would take for her next lap. Starting at a slow jog she would throw a few punches in the air and would continue doing so until she made it back to her starting point. She would then jog faster almost to the point where it seemed she was running but she wasn't. Still throwing her punches in the air as she jogged around the training grounds she would look around at her surroundings looking at the horizon but she kept her focus knowing that her mind might make her daydream. There are no sparring partner around either. She continued her jog till her made it back to starting point where she would take a short break before continuing. After the break she would then run her at fastest pace around the training ground as she could go without throwing any punches in the air this time. Returning to starting point that she made she would then get in a pushup position which is where she would do pushups. Keeping her head up and looking straight and making sure her hands was at a good enough distance apart she would start. Counting each pushup as her body get really close but not touching the ground she would say it out loud. The first 10 seems to be fine but when she started the eleventh she could feel her arm muscles hardening. A signal that she had not trained for strength a lot. After doing 15 of them, the next pushup felt like a mountain and she gave up. Getting up from the ground she would go get a drink before she would consider continue again.
Half the day passed before she would know it. Looking at her speed now, it would seems that she can stop training it for now. Whereas for strength, doing 15 seems to have taken a toll on her muscles. She let out a sigh.
Another day started as Yuri awakes when the sun blasted through her window shining on her face; She opened his eyes slowly and tired. As she got out of bed, leaning back snapping her spine, she put her hand on her chin, and turned her head snapping it. She made way to her window closing her blinds letting less sun light enter her room. She got into her usual ninja outfit, which was slightly more thorough than her normal everyday clothes. She went out to get herself some food, there as no need for a living room; She lived alone by herself. Her parents were not part of her memory consciously as far as she could remember. She was never told of her heritage either since her instructor never knew of any bloodline limit existing within her. For she looked too plain for it, her tint in the skin was not as visible as it is now when she was young. She had never looked into her innate strengths, partially because there was no clue on it either. After purchasing takeaways from nearby stores, she sat down on a bench she could find at the end of the street and started filling herself for the training to come.
Yuri suddenly remembered that her door was unlocked. Not far from her lodging, she simply went back to do so. She had decided to take a change in her training environment as she would approach the horizon for today. As she walked towards the ocean where she would begin her training over Chakra Control, She looked around the village as she walked, seeing a few shops as he walked on; some shops sold weapons, those shops mostly had swords in them, Kirigakure was known to have great swordsmen that were born here at some point of time. Some other shops had sold medicine, or some grocery, food, and other sorts of stuff. Yet looking at those shops, they seemed to have been abandoned today, normally people were inside at this time. Yuri caught sight of a shop entrance that held a similar layout before her home was destroyed. She decided to look upon it after her training. Looking up into the sky, clouds filled the sky, only a bit of the sun was able to be shown, the clouds had allowed small rays of light to shine down on Kirigakure, which had hit around the area her lodging. She continued walking as the wind was blowing rather strong, it would soon push the clouds to block the sun, leaving it darker than normal.
Yuri soon reached the halfway mark, by that time the clouds filled the sky completely not leaving any room for the sun to shine. She was still a bit of a travel from the ocean. She continued walking on, towards the ocean so she could begin her training. As she walked while kicking dust into the air, she could still feel the day just starting for her. She put her hands towards her eyes and rubbed them wiping the sand out of her eyes, the sand people normally woke up with and when they are tired. She soon reached a small river, not where she wanted to be, she focused chakra within his feet, and took a step onto the water and took her other foot off the land to where she was only standing on the water, her chakra had allowed her to stay on the water without falling into the water, she moved her other foot which was in the air forward, and took a step on the water with that foot. She continued doing this, taking a step forward with her other foot, then once more moving forward, slowly, balancing on the surface of the water. Soon reaching the land on the other side of the river, she continued towards the ocean, where she had planned on training, she was going to do exactly what she did to get across the river, walk on the surface of the water using chakra control. She had soon heard a loud boom directly over her head, looking up seeing nothing however, she continued walking. After a while, she had heard another boom, she had known it was soon going to rain, she looked around his area, as tiny drops of water fell from the sky, few of them hitting her head and hair. While scanning the area, looking around for nothing but the sea, she had seen a flash from the sky and hit a tree not too far away. It was a lightning bolt, making the trees smoke after a charge from the very heaven. The tree burned after a few seconds, there was nothing she could do. She continued towards the ocean.
As she continued in her travel towards the ocean, she had not seen too many living things, not a single person, not any animals, yet. She kicked up the dirt with every step she took, still slightly tired from when she had woken up. She soon arrived at the ocean, looking at the water while the rain was pouring rapidly from the sky, down into the water of the ocean and the land around Yuri all the way back to Kirigakure and even further. The waves seemed to be a tad bit violent, and seemed they could knock over someone after a while. Yuri charged chakra within her feet, and took a few steps forward, eventually stepping onto the ocean’s water with his right foot. She took his left foot off the land, off the surface of the dirt and motioned it forward and stepping on the water, then taking her right foot, which was behind and moving it forward, lifting it into the air and motioning that foot forward past her left foot letting it land on the water, she repeated with her left, then right, then left, then right, then left, then right, then left, then right, then left, then right, motioning her feet forward, taking another step forward out further into the ocean with each step she took, though they were tiny steps, she continued, moving her left foot once more, with enough chakra to keep her from falling into the ocean, then stepping on the surface on the water once more, continuing with her right, then her left, then her right once more, and then her left again. The rain was still pouring down, Yuri wasn’t bothered by it though, she wasn’t bothered by the waves trying to push her down, or the loud booms coming from the sky, she wasn't even bothered by the mist that blocked her view from the way she came from, which had blocked all sight of the land, she had planned on staying out on the ocean for quite a while.
She now stayed completely still, holding her hands up into a hand sign together, her feet not making a single motion, nor her hands, the only thing that would have been moving was her hair, which was being pushed by the wind. She just stayed there, meditating, focusing on nothing, just clearing her mind. Her chakra kept him on the surface of the water, making it where she wouldn’t fall in, yet the waves continued trying to push her over into the ocean, only losing her balance a few times, not falling in though. Opening her eyes after a few hours, she had seen that the mist that was around her, made it harder the see, there was more mist then before, now she could barely see 10 feet in front of her. She thought it was now time to return for home, the rain was still pouring down when Yuri took a quick look around and headed in a random direction, she couldn’t remember the way she had come from; She had to be lucky to get back to home sooner than she is expecting. The rain began to settle, small drops of rain still falling, yet slower then before, one drop after another taking less than a second for it to hit right after the one before it, some had hit the ground at the same time, some landed on Yuri.
Soon enough she reached land, the waves had settled, so has the rain, only a few drops were falling from the sky, once every twenty seconds or so. She took her right foot off the land, moved it forward and landed it on the sand of a beach, the area seemed slightly familiar to Yuri, but she was sure this wasn’t the way home. She was tired, it had seemed to pass noon , she had been using his chakra quite a bit today, she figured it would be time for a short rest, to let her chakra return making sure she could get across the ocean and return home. She looked around, knowing nothing or no one was around, she climbed up in a tree, using her chakra which were stored in the bottom of his feet, and she took a few small steps up the tree feeling tired, getting to the top of the tree, she was about to fall off. She grabbed the branch that was near the top of the tree and pulled herself up, then leaned her back against the tree trunk and closed her eyes, falling asleep. During her sleep it had started to rain once more, she did not awaken yet, she remained asleep as the rain lightly fell on the area around her, some rain drops falling past the leaves over her head, allowing the drops of water to hit her forehead, it slowly slid down her face, eyes, cheek and soon onto her neck, then down her arm soon falling off of her finger tips, other time it hit her hair, some of the drops stayed there, other drops fell off her hair and onto the ground along with the drops of water which had hit Yuri’s forehead. The sound of the rain would have been a pleasant, nice, calm quiet sound for those who were sleeping in the night time, along with the sound of birds chirping while hunting the loud crickets, a rather nice sound, music some might have called it. Yuri was fine with the accumulated noises, a sign of peace within the area.
She fell awake from the sound of thunder, and lightning hitting a tree just nearby. The rain was now falling rather rapidly, like before but much, much faster. She reached to feel her hair, rubbing her hand through it tiredly, feeling that it was wet from the rain fall, hearing the noise of lightning, thunder, rain falling, crickets chirping, and birds calmed her a bit. She jumped from the tree, seeing that the sun was rising made him wonder how long she had been asleep. Most likely just a day, it could have been more but Yuri doubted she was gone for longer than a day. She landed on the ground, looking around as the rain fell rapidly from the very dark clouds in the sky. She looked at the ocean, seeing very violent waves colliding and trying to reach the sky. Yuri wondered if she would just find shelter for now, or head home, ignoring the rain and lightning and waves. She looked at the beach’s sand, seeing nothing but what seemed to be mud, or just wet sand, the waves reached father up the beach than before, Yuri decided to stay here for a bit and explore. She went past the tree she had slept in, and then noticed the mist had cleared up, it was completely visible. She continued to travel, looking for nothing but waiting for the rain to clear. After a few hours it finally cleared, she was resting in a tree now. She jumped down and headed for the ocean, but having no idea which way was home now.
After a while, she was back in the middle of the ocean, the dark grey and black clouds still filled the sky, the sun completely blocked, she continued, while chakra was stored in her feet, allowing her to keep herself on top of the water. She soon reached more land, finding herself on where she had first took this adventure out onto the ocean, she made his way home now. She had traveled back the way she came from. She had soon reached the tree which was struck by lightning, and was set on fire, it turned out to be completely ash, and one touch could make it collapse into black dust, also known as ash. She went over there and touched the tree, making it collapse. She traveled on, towards Kirigakure, towards her new home, towards a place where she can go back to sleep. She soon reached the river she had to cross to get to the area she had done part of her training, charging her chakra in her feet, hopefully a last time, she took a step onto the river, the current was heading towards the south, as her left foot touched the surface of the water, she picked her right foot into the air and motioned it forward, passing her left foot, and forcing it down in a tiredly way, landing on the water with that foot now, she continued doing this, left, then right, then left, then right, then left, then right, then left again, then right again, until she had gotten on the other side of the river she picked up his left foot one final time, and motioned it towards land, passing her right foot, landing it onto some dirt which had turned to mud due to the water from the river, and the rain as well. She continued towards the technological side of Kirigakure.
She soon arrived back at her home village, entering back into the street finding out she was gone for about a day, as expected by Yuri. She made her way towards home, hungry realizing she hadn’t eaten for a day, noticing she wasn’t hungry until she had noticed she hadn’t eaten for a day. As she got to her home, she had a few bought a few takeaways as well. She took out her keys for her house, unlocking the front door, then turning around after entry and shutting, then locking her front door. Her hungry stomach replenishes now.
She took off her forehead protector, holding it within her left hand, walking towards her bed. She lied down on her bed, laying her head against her pillow and putting her head band on the stand that held a lamp which was right next to her bed. She thought about today and yesterday, as the sun set, her room filled darker as she thought about her crossing the ocean today and yesterday.
A rather dull and silent day in Kirigakrue, The weather in Kirigakure made it pass borderline sunny occasionally. Today is the usual, gray clouds fill the sky, almost blocking out the entire sun. It didn't take long until it began to rain, it wasn't a heavy downpour but it was more than a light drizzle. The street were mostly empty expect for a few vendors that decided to remain open for the day, hoping that a few customers will pop in and buy something. Despite the rain, ninja and civilian alike crawled out of bed, got dressed and left their house. There would be things that still needed to be done, and roles for said people to fill. This was no different for Yuri either, she thought about what to do next after chakra control for almost the past few days. Once Yuri left her new comfort zone, she went to a nearby shop. She would usually have takeaways, but she decided for a change regardless of the weather and sat at an empty table. Yuri waited for a minute for someone to take her orders and the next few for her order. She eat as she enjoys the scenery that time had accelerated to prevent her from doing so. It is not at the best state now since the drizzle prevented people from walking on the street and it blocks out much of what's meant to be seen. Done with her meal, Yuri simply paid and left, letting the drizzle get her. She was suddenly reminded of her rating on her strength, she had been lacking it since long. However, she doesn't seems to need it in the past. Hazy memories prevented from Yuri from remembering. She knew that there must be some things missing from her mind.
Just as Yuri was thinking about the mission, right on time, her partner walk through the door and took her usually spot right in front of Yuri. Good Morning, Yuri how are you doing? We took down a dozen yesterday. So what will today bring us? Its great being operational right? You get to move around sightseeing. Yuri tilted her head sideways, wanting to agree to but would rater be focused on the mission. Let's now waste any time, Let's go As both talked about their task on the way. Both made it to a country's border, mining area. For them to arrive it usually means that the area is out of reach from the authorities for a variety of reasons. It says that we should expect resistance to be of human-level intelligence, don't let down your guard Both knew that its awfully quiet and open tot he point that they might have been watched. They walked into the minds carefully not to topple any pile of coal or set any carts moving. Inside of the mine, there was no resistance either but navigating it feels like a labyrinth as every tunnel has no discerning features over the other. Both of them was getting a bit tired when her partner's mind snapped all of a sudden. Kai! Yuri was freed from the illusion by her partner. The tunnels have no traces of living things until now, dead bodies were seen all over the place. Yuri was stepping on one of them, all the "bumps" she felt was actually limps lying on the ground. She had to control herself from giving in to the horror. Her partner started to grab the handle of her sword, hinting Yuri that the enemy is near. Relaxing her grip, she warned Yuri about getting more help. This might not be something the bot of us can leave it to ourselves to handle. Since tricks were employed to vision, we better explore around first and get some form of backup. It was not something that can be settled within a day for what Yuri can tell from her partner's tone. Yuri immediate plan was to try and find the poster who paid for the task the pair was going to handle. From her map, she could tell that there was a small town not very far from the mine.
When both arrived at the town, It was the same sight at the mines, bodies were everywhere telling an event of struggle going on around here. As Yuri checked the footsteps on the ground, there was weird patterns where curvy lines was replaced by footsteps. It was no normal enemy, what was more horrifying came when her partner saw a severed hand with veins hardened beyond human limits. No amount of strength could get that much blood flowing through, it would burst if there was ever such a case under normal means. Both of them headed to the largest house in the town, the tavern. It was not pleasant sight as well, this time there were humans fully in statue status. Still no life is sign, both of them pondered what should be. Calling the authorities is as good as going back for a beating but the request was severely underestimated. A presence came from the ceiling as it gave way. Yuri backed off from where she was seconds ago. She saw someone with abilities of a ninja. And so my request finally made it to some, good, now we can get that thing for good. Both of them calmed down as the third person explained himself in the flashy entrance. He explained that recently there was someone among the miners being possessed. At first it didn't look serious or rather, nobody even noticed until a third of the miners died working overtime in a single night and someone went missing. It was too late to stop him by the time many saw the man again, no longer once the man they knew where legs were seen replaced by a big tail and could be morphed back into legs. Most of the remaining miners did not have the time to prepare even when help had been requested. A handful evacuated before the attack on the small town but their earnings prevented them from going far. The possessed had too power for him to stop it alone as he could only defend for a few escaping miners while the rest were not so fortunate. He warned both of them to keep their distance as having contact when seen by the possessed will turn the blood part of them into stone. Given the ability from all 3 of them, the best plan all of them could come up will be to try and blow the poor soul up.
Unlike all the opponents Yuri fought, this one had a truly terrifying ability, it can turn blood to stone, just by looking at it and contact. The effects are permanent as show on the miners. Not much is known about monster beside that it possessed a miner and can appear like a snake. 3 of them headed back to the mine cautiously. This time no illusion can trick them into going into clean tunnels. This time however, the new team member got a plan. They will not combat the monster in its comfort zone but instead lure it out in the open. He used an illusion attempting to trick the monster to think that there are lots of miners coming to mine again. While Yuri's role is to add on to the explosive techniques that her partner will be using. The monster did not waste its time coming out at the open, only to realize that it has been tricked to the open. It was twice the size her partner expected. Earth formed quickly to capture the lower half of the body while Yuri play the decoy carefully due to the consequences. The man helped Yuri by shooting wind cutters to slow down the monster. The earth eventually caught to the monsters upper body. Yuri stepped up her pace and place a few tags behind its back as her partner detonated immediately when the tags were placed. With the monster immobilized but still alive while a blood pool is forming. The man performed a technique similar to fuinjutsu. everyone was caught by surprise especially the monster. It ended its existence with a deafening shout.
So much so that Yuri was back to enjoying the drizzle, she realized that she had yet to acquire something special of her own and of her comfort.
Sitting cross-legged in a somewhat oversize arena that made up one of the training grounds in Kirigakure sat Yuri, wearing her usual ninja outfit that allows her to survive in different weather and yet move in combat somehow at her comfort. Her hands cupped in one another with eyes closed as if in some sort of deep trance, she meditated until her could become extend further into her surroundings. Around her lie a 50 foot expanse of stone riddled with boulders in large quantity as if the room had been made for her. Up towards the dome she temporarily claimed as a roof was another 75 foot space between herself and the ground she currently sat on. Once the entirety of her surroundings were summed up and she was certain that she was at peace within herself, she stood straight up and without opening her eyes, produced a handseal that served as a blur to the untrained eye, just as she slowly opened her eyes, she touched ground. It would seems that she had used body flicker to a certain degree of mastery.
Snapping her head to her right just as she commenced the ending of her handseal, Yuri went past obstacles lined in a zig-zag manner herself san, speeding into the direction of the nearest wall. About 25 feet up was a carefully placed platform and in intervals of an approximate 6 feet were small, basketball-shaped stones suspended in air by chains hanging from the ceiling that stood 100 ft above the ground. Once to the wall, Yuri came back to the surface and then immediately sped up the large expanse towards the platform, with carefully placed chakra on her feet allowing her to stay on without falling straight back into the stony ground that lay below. Once to the platform, she unsheathed the training blade she had taken from the training storeroom and flung it towards the metal chains enabling the suspension of the stone spheres.
Before the sword could even make contact however, she sped past more obstacles and those that she can't she had to make sure that her steps were accurate placed through the course. With that in mind as the course works in a loop , she had to rise exactly where she had been standing beforehand. She looked up as around 3 of the balls were already descending towards him and his sword made contact with the hanging chains. Fourth.. Fifth.. Sixth. The snapping of chains became ever more present until her sword lost momentum and came down into the ground below, point first. All of the chains had been broken and as they made their way towards her, she fought those with dojutsu at certain point of her life and now she attempts to deal with as though she was them. A timely focus is required from her so that she could handle what is coming down.
Stone spheres rained down upon Yuri as she then got into a stance and focusing intently raised her right fist as the first sphere came within range, knocked it into the opposing wall. She then sprang up lightly and in a sideways flip, grabbed the second ball, launching it into the same wall while kicking the third into the opposite direction. With perfect form she began to quickly dispense of her falling objects, kneeing and elbowing them in opposite directions until she came to the tenth and kicking off of the wall opposite of the first one she had climbed performed a swift, but powerful guillotine kick to the object, propelling it toward the ground and shattering upon impact. Yuri landed gracefully as she prepared another sequence to her training regimen.
She could not fully remember who her squad members once were, but she could remember one with what seems to have telescopic vision. Trying to pull off what she would expect one with those sort of vision will, Yuri had to focus. There is no way she could slowly scan around the large expanse of a room that served to be her training grounds for the day. Quickly, however, she was lost in yet another one of her daily reveries; An all too often occurrence lately for the 19 year old. She seemed to be always lost in thought lately whenever she did anything, even the simplest of tasks and always when she was in a relaxed state. When lying in bed she’d reminisce. When watching the stars, as cliché as it sounds, she’d reminisce. And even now while trainings he was exhibiting of one of her all too many habits, reminiscing. She knew she was too young to be so stuck in the past where her future lay ahead of her and she had so much yet to see, but she just could never shake those past memories for they were so ingrained upon his mind and visage that it was all she saw on a regular basis, but now was not the time. As quick King Cobra strike she snapped out of one of her many daydreams found what she’s been looking for.
Within her immediate line of sight was a circle with the diameter of about 10 feet surrounded by a massive array of boulders, all the same height and width with the circumference of about 5 meters. Yes, these babies were massive and that was exactly what Yuri had anticipated for and the perfect size to set her real training into motion. What she had performed earlier was simply a warm-up exercise to sharpen, train, and keep her reflexes from dulling. What she actually wanted to try in mind was a red hot training session of her own devising. She wasn’t going to stop until she dropped. She is no dojutsu user and handling the warm up already taken a small toll on her, now she will have to capitalistic fully on her speed to overcome all the babies coming at her. Embracing her speed, she forgot that she need to do some strength training as well.
Still not finding her comfortable groove. Yuri had decided to review some of what she had learned in the hopes of guiding herself back to the correct path of power she would be heading.
Today, Yuri has decided on training over a simple technique that would be what the basics of genjutsu might have come from. She has learned the basics of chakra molding from her instructor long ago and got information over techniques from notes she has found when she settled herself in the village she was staying in as her new home. The technique she was going to practice on was the Bunshin no Jutsu which could turn out helpful to her in different situations in the wild and against actual opponents as told by her instructor. The notes Yuri looked over was quite useful to her as it described the technique quite well too, as well as the way of performing and the handseals required. Her instructor has taught her the basic handseals and so she began with her training.
Yuri began circulating her chakra through her body as she began performing the handseals required for the technique. She has memorized the handseals in their correct order as they were the Ram seal, the Snake seal and finally the Tiger seal. After she has performed the handseals, Yuri began circulating her chakra out of her body, around herself. After she ran her chakra all the way around her body, she parted it from her body and began shaping a human body figure out of chakra right next to herself. After the chakra took the exact same shape as herself, Yuri pulsed the chakra she was running through the almost-done clone. Bunshin no Jutsu! Yuri yelled as she sent the pulse to the clone.
The results turned out to be satisfactory. Yuri let the clone go off as she wanted to try again as she felt that she had not found the groove doing it. This time, she performed the set of handseals for the technique again, Ram, Snake and finally Tiger. This time, she began circulating her chakra through her body after she was done performing the handseals and repeated the same steps as she did the previous attempt of hers. This time, when she pulsed her chakra, the mass of chakra in the air next to her kind of surprised her and again took the shape of Yuri. Yuri examined her clone. She knew it was just an illusion she created with her chakra but she still examined it. It looked like her to the smallest detail. Even the manners were the same as the clone ran her fingers through her hair, moving it to her back. Rose commanded the clone to move around, perform some actions and such, the clone followed them perfectly until the point when it came to physical contact. It slipped her mind for a moment that these clones were mere illusions and couldn't possibly make contact with physical objects or substances.
The next technique Yuri was planning on to review would be the transformation technique, another technique that could turn out rather useful in different types of situations and not only - the technique could also be useful to Yuri in battle to confuse her opponent as written on the notes. Yuri began performing the needed handseals for the technique which was in fact only one - the rat handseal. As she performed it, she began circulating her chakra around her body rapidly. At the point when Yuri's chakra was in it's highest level and speed of circulation, at the point when she felt that her chakra was enough to activate the technique, Rose created a pulse of chakra to the chakra that was circulating around her. The expected results were the following: Yuri transformed herself in a beautiful wolf with scarlet fur and crimson eyes and she would be visible to her surroundings after the puff of smoke the technique created would scatter in the air. She could see herself in a puddle of water nearby.
Again, it was only satisfactory. It is not that Yuri could not succeed at the technique. To Yuri right now, it was a matter of getting inspiration as a means to return to her former strength. Yuri took off her transformation and try again. She performed the rat handseal again and focused her chakra for a second time. She began circulating it around her body but knew that she had already master the technique and using it again and again might exhaust her first rather tan helping her. This time, while circulating her chakra around her body, Yuri parted it in two portions that would each have it's tasks. The first portion of chakra would continue flowing around her body and the second portion of chakra would layer itself over Yuri herself. After again feeling that these were the right proportions of the chakra, Yuri pulsed both of the portions, in her mind, imagining the scarlet wolf. There was again a puff of smoke and this time, after it disappeared, things felt like Yuri was viewing the ground from a closer distance from before, lifting her left hand to take a look of herself, Yuri would notice the wolf's palm made on the previous attempt and also that she was currently seen as standing on 4 legs.
Still not finding the spark, Yuri began to try running around in her wolf form. It really felt odd running on four legs, she haven't been doing that since back then in the training camp. Relieving the feel of being in the transformation, she somehow managed to do so. Maybe it was due to the different, perfect wolf shape of the legs, however, no matter how good she was able to run. Yuri couldn't avoid a large boulder that appeared basically out of nowhere before her and there was a hit which after another puff of smoke, reverting Yuri back to her original form again.
Annoyed that she could not find her comfort zone, more oil was added to fire when she found a few thugs threatening an old man to give in for whatever reason that may apply. She shouted out to those thugs to come at her to resolve matters, she had her ninja headband concealed so that they will not hesitate to rush at her. As usual as those thugs she fought, one of them decided to rush at Yuri head on with his fist seemingly to target Yuri's face. Yuri grabbed him by the incoming fist and threw him off his footsteps. The thugs ran earlier than Yuri expected, summing up her day.
