Guard The Dead [Mission]

All right, so now he was going to guard a cemetary, the home of the dead. In there, the dead must stay dead, so that they can rest in peace. Not in this world though, there was no such thing as having peace when you have valuable information. And someone planned to strike, yet all of the major ninja were going away during this time. So they had to grab a Genin with an okay ratio when it came to missions. Currently, he had 2 – 0, which was technically perfect work. However, if this were a Genin working on things alone, could they really trust him to do it without fail on his own? Taking that risk, they decided to put him on the job. And of course, he will get a fair sum if he was able to guard it for the night, in case there was an attacker that was trying to extract information from the village ninjas that were there before. And so Haruki Akari would step up to the plate, and all the faith had been placed in him. Hopefully he would not let them down. While it did make him a bit nervous, it was also very exciting. So many things to do all at once, the rush was getting to him. However, him and the Haru crew were ready. The Haru crew consisted of three members. Me, myself, and I. All the Shadow Clones. In all seriousness though, he will be using clones to help him guard the scene. While it would be a little more helpful to have them all armed, he did not want to waste his Hunai knives, especially after he got a pretty decent set of them last week from his last job. So he would wait for the moment in which he could just strike on the attacker. While he did think that it would be better if no one attacked for the night, he was secretly wishing that someone was declaring an attack on him. It would put him in a real battle scenario. However, he did not want to kill anyone, despite what everyone says. Life was pretty cool to have, if he thought so himself, and that should not be taken away from anyone. However, there was an exception to this, that being self -defense. If he has to defend himself from an attacker, and that involved killing, the Akari was going to take it without giving it a second thought. Again, he loved life, and he was not going to let his own be extracted from his own body. Over his dead body… Pun definitely not intended. So what were his thoughts on this? Well, it did seem fun at first, only for him to realize that he had to stay up the entire night, and so he was not too keen on messing up his sleeping schedule. On top of that, it was rather boring. Almost no one to talk to, maybe three people every hour. Talking to the clones who were patrolling the area was no different than talking to himself, and what would he gain with that? Well, he at least had a pretty decent layout. There were three lightning clones on the outsides of the graveyard, one per cardinal point. One was on the East, one was on the West, one was on the South, and the real Haruki was up at the North. Two Shadow Clones were walking around while inside of it. The reason why the dark would not phase them was because they could not see it. Their eyes allowed them to magnify the light, so they pretty much saw what they would see in the daytime. It was a perfect result. If he would have to fight, he would be able to fight them as if he were fighting them in the daylight. Heck, he could even try to have the light amplified so that his opponents could see. After all, being outnumbered in the dark was not going to have the best results for an opponent. However, he would then bring the idea back into his head. He had been told many times that in this world, it was not about fighting fair, it was about fighting to win. Besides, the shining ball that he had would blind an opponent, and then they would not be seeing anything for a long while. So with that being said, the current stance this battle was taking place in was fairly decent. What else was there to check? The hours were passing him by, and he honestly felt rather bored. A new plan was formed when they would check up on each other. To make things more interesting at least. The real Haruki would be allowed to sleep while the clones were up. That way, they all gain more energy while he is resting. The clones did not need to sleep since they were made from his Chakra. And if Haruki was able to regain it, they would gain power as well. If someone were to attack, four of them can attack the attackers while the fifth one can wake up the real Haruki and guard him. That plan seemed well enough, so they stuck by it. It helped the Akari out a lot, getting him through the night a lot quicker and bringing him closer to a paycheck very soon. However, while in this vulnerable state, there are less guards. Four clones on each side, and one guarding Haruki, no one was in the middle, and that was a place they could be struck at. It seems like no one was getting there, and the plan was that if they were attacks from under the ground, they would be able to all attack at the center. Was it a good idea? Meh. It was the best they had if they wanted to kept the plan of having a sleeper. So that was it, their imperfect plan to guard the grave. How wonderful.

After many hours passed by, it was almost sunrise. The sun was about to reveal itself again. However, the moon was very well up as well, and has about a decent hour left in time. With that thought in mind,, the clones were still up and active, refusing to let their own take any damage. And so that would be the main goal, at least they valued his life more than a sum of 1000 Ryo, mainly because they were him, but it was nice to think that they were loyal to him. However, a sudden pair of attacks would arrive on the scene, one of the clones being taken out from the west side. Damn it! With that, the Haruki guarding the real one would call out to the others, warning them of the attack. And so the guards would refuase to stay where they were, all three of them charging while the fourth was waking up the sleeping child. After a few seconds, he was brought back up and was ready to battle. The attackers did not use too much Chakra, but seemed rather decent with their swords. However, they were much quicker than the blades, and the only reason why they got one of the Shadow Clones was because they attacked out of nowhere. But now they were on even ground. With a team effort, two of the Lightning clones would grab one of the blades, bleeding seemingly, but did not quite disappear yet before a Shadow Clone would snatch the sword of its hands, and the last lightning clone would kick at the attackers stomach to send them stumbling back. The second attacker would try to slice down onto all of them, but the real Haruki was charging like a boar. A little late to the party, but that was how the best of heroes were to be. Late. Taking the impact to the right arm, he was bleeding as he would slide to the side from the impact. An interesting development, and rather painful, but not enough to send the hooded by back home. And the battle was still on. With that, the clones got angrier at seeing their owner get hurt. They did not go down without a fight, as one of them would charge over towards the second attacker, causing an impact so devastating that the clone would explode, leaving a huge trail of lightning to paralyze the body and cause it to fall over. That was not going to look too good if the body were not checked soon, but since when was it his responsibility to do such a thing. Who knew what these people wanted with the data of the dead? But the fact that they can’t seem to respect the dead was what got to him, and so they will pay with their very lives… Wasted at least. Yes, Haruki can’t bring himself to kill them, since he knew that with their power, it was not really necessary to do so. While the numbers was the reason, he liked to believe that it was because of a difference in strength. Placing his palms in his pockets, he would look over to the one enemy who was not paralyzed yet. This was a choice right now, he could continue and lose his friend over here. Or he could give in right now. Not a single word needed to be said, the choice was obvious. And so the man, the one without a blade to fight with, the one that had a partner that was down, would place himself onto his knees, hands up behind his head, giving in. The sun would rise at the moment, the population was beginning to increase, and soon, the Anbu would arrive on the scene to see the knocked out lady and the man who surrendered. Seems like this couple did not have much except the ability to revive the dead. It was not too much of a task after all, but the Anbu would still tell him that he did well. Due to the lack of Chakra that Haruki had however, the clones would suddenly pop away, and he would be alone with absolutely no energy. While he did sleep, the lightning clones demanded a lot of Chakra, and they had been up for hours. Of course he was going to not have any energy if they were able to protect him throughout the night. However, it was still fair to give them credit. Without them, it was going to be rather difficult to guard the graveyard. So with that, he would receive the small pouch of Ryo that the Anbu believes he deserved before walking away, planning to return back home to Aunt Nea. She probably had breakfast for him, and the poor lady must be worried sick for him. So that was it, that was how he stopped a few people from bringing back the dead. It was rather interesting compared to the things he had done in the past, but it was still not quite there. He wanted a challenge! There must be someone out on Earth who was able to make clones that can give him a decent fight! Eh, it was probably just him complaining. It was not like he actually wanted to battle people in a real fight. There were other ways of getting it, but they all required time. As much as Haruki would love to say that he is a patient one, in reality, he was not even close. It was natural for his age, to want things at the moment and not at any other time. Life will teach him soon. But for now, he had to continue making the money that he was. Soon he will buy some weaponry to help advance him further on the battlefield. Like rollerblades. Yes, he wanted to fight on rollerblades, and was not the least bit sorry about wanting such a thing. He just wanted to have fun.
