Playing with Fire [P, NK, element training]
Wed Aug 17, 2016 6:58 pm
The last two spars that Miyamoto had been through taught him a few things; one…he needed to drastically change how he trained. Two…he needed to learn how to tap into his clan’s power. In order to bring forth the power of the Terumi however, he would need to train himself to harness the element of fire. The task set before him was no easy one, and usually was not something that any child, much less something a newly qualified Genin could do.
He dressed as he usually did, his brown training GI, the Hoshi headband, and as usual a few rocks that he kept with him at all times now, as if he had a mini rock collection from the rocks he picked up daily. He sighed to himself; he learned humility over the past week. Both Shiro and Dusk were on complete different levels than he was, and that meant that even Genin could be a major player if the worst-case scenario were to ever break out.
He ate breakfast as usual, afterwards making sure to pack a lunch so that while he was training he would not go hungry, he saw a note from his mother that read that the remaining family members of the house were looking for places to stay…it seemed that after arriving to Hoshi, his cousins and their wives had become pregnant and we needed more space. It hurt Miyamoto that his family was splitting, but he was proud that is was growing. He would help out with his talents soon though…this was his most achievable goal yet. He set out as he began his training for the day. He slipped on his training shoes, which were weighted so that he could increase resistance to help build muscle and speed.
He set off, making sure that he switched up his training, today he would use the rooftops as his conditioning as he would climb to the top and begin to run, jumping from rooftop to rooftop using just his speed and strength to carry him through. The entire time he was thinking back on how he could possible brings out the fire inside.
“It would have to focus on my inner chakra, were my genes and chakra nature able to support such elements…I would have to do a lot of meditation I am sure…”
He would say to himself, bouncing the ideas off of his psyche, if anyone around him saw Miyamoto they would probably call him crazy, or just another ruffian looking for trouble. It did not matter to him; only getting what he needed to succeed did though. He would quickly reach the edge of town where the water gardens would start, and so he would leap from the roof and onto the ground. He would pass through the gardens with easy quickly enough for it to still be morning.
Miyamoto would waste no time as he entered the training grounds. Not bothering to find a new opponent, but as he walked to his normal meditation area, he would pass where his previous bouts had taken place. Reminded of what happened his mood went from one of thinking about his mission, to pure determination as he was determined to not lose again. He shook the feelings and sat below his tree, as he would quickly set his backpack down so that he could begin focusing on his inner self. He began to pull from his chakra a new feeling. He began to think of actual fire and the warmth his body felt while being around it. His body responded by growing warm, and his chakra seemed to change ever so slightly, as if it were emanating whips of smoke inside of him. His very core was like a smoldering fire that had been put out or suppressed long ago, now trying to find new life.
Miyamoto began to think of his chakra as moving through each part of his body, as if each were dedicated to the elements that lay dormant or active within him. The Fire inside him was the center of attention as his legs became the earth, he felt at peace, but kept enough of that fire inside him so that he may be able to grasp it. He was reminded of the fire that Shiro was able to blow through his mouth as if it were second nature. He moved from the Shiro’s fire to how he was able to move with ease along with the earth, everything will come full circle with what you know and are trained to use.
“There is nothing outside of yourself that can ever enable you to get better, stronger, richer, quicker, or smarter. Everything is within. Everything exists. Seek nothing outside of yourself.”
He said to himself under his breath noting that he was able to quote from a book he read on strategy. Many other quotes came to mind, but that stuck out to him and made more sense than anything. HE took in a deep breath and held it as he began to wipe his mind clean, and upon exhaling his mind was blank and he felt the weight of life lift from his body. He was alone in solitude within himself and so he began to work on bringing back up the feelings of warmth and of rekindling the fire inside of his own body. He knew that inside of him laid a dormant volcano capable of devastation and ruin, but in order to learn to control and awaken it. He would need to be able to first breach the gate by harnessing the element of fire. HE felt the warmth and bursts of energy that began to echo through his body as if someone threw a stone into a pond. It was a wonderful and new feeling for Miyamoto as he held it close to him. He began to try and move chakra into the flame metaphorically, and to the naked eye he was just meditating, but inside he was a survivalist trying to keep the embers of a flame and try to cause them to spread.
The best part was…he was succeeding…
Miyamoto was inside of his own mind, like a traveler from a different world, and he knew it, his body knew it, yet he was allowed to stay, as this was the only way for him to get stronger. His mind was like a big practice space at the moment as he was still working on the fire. It was as if he could recall to any moment in his life, so images came before him of the times when he was hugged by his mother’s warm embrace. The hot meals they were lucky to have while being refugees, and the hot meals they ate each night as citizens of Hoshi. He remembered his first time meeting Snow- Senpai and how he was also his Genin Exam Proctor, how he joked with Miyamoto, and looked like he took in actual interest in having helped train him. Then he was brought images of Lucien, Shiro, Dusk, and the subsequent sparring and training they did together. He began to tear up at the memories he was experiencing both physically and inside his own head. The flame before him inside of his head grew three times its size as he wiped his eyes as he saw that the fire had grew his body began to physically grow warm as this was happening inside. The element of fire was beginning to awaken. Miyamoto felt the flame inside as he instinctively reached out towards the fire, the closer he got, the hotter his body grew. Then without hesitation he reached into the fire as it seemed to snuff out as the realm around him grew dark. The warmth remained though as in his hand he felt the extreme heat of the fire as he looked down and opened his hand he noticed the flame was still there, morphing and moving around violently without rhyme or reason.
His eyes snapped open in the real world as he felt the same heat in his right hand, he opened his hand and looked as a bright orange flame moved wildly in his hand. He sighed and held his excitement in, he was well on his way to harnessing the full power of fire as he moved his left hand over the flame causing the wild flame to real back just a bit as he was just testing out to see what would happen, he moved his hand at different angles over and around the flame just to test how it moved. He noticed the flame move to the right and take a bit of shape as he moved his hand causing the flame to curve and round to the right. Seeing as how this was purely cause and effect he began to move his hands in direct motion so that the flame would hopefully begin to move in the same direction that it was earlier just with more motion. Then pop, just like that the fire went out. Miyamoto was breathing heavy and he sat back and laughed.
“Guess it is time for a lunch break.”
He said as the sun was high in the air.

Re: Playing with Fire [P, NK, element training]
Thu Aug 18, 2016 12:02 am
Miyamoto opened up his backpack as he fetched out his bento box. Inside was cooked salmon, grilled red potato, and fried rice. He took his time eating as the food stayed relatively warm due to the sun. As he finished up he packed his box back up before reaching back in he fetched a bottle of water which he managed do down in just a few seconds. With a long satisfied sigh Miyamoto was full and his energy restored to him.
“As always, my mom is the best cook I know.”
He said as he stood up and brushed himself off from the earth that now stuck to his GI. After he cleaned up he held out his right arm, closing the palm before digging again for that feeling, it did not take long before he felt that unfamiliar warmth in his hand. As he opened his hand there was an over abundance ove chakra energy as the flames managed to lick the sleeve of his GI before the flame died down to a small ember. He moved his left hand up as he began to move his hand as he moved chakra around his left hand so that the flame began to move in a circular motion to the right.
“This is wild! I would have never dreamed that I would be learning a new chakra this early in my journey.”
Miyamoto's breathing soon went from a labored breath, to a calm focused inhale and exhale, slow and steady. He felt the energy in his hand as he moved his hand clockwise at a speed of 5 now as he felt the chakra in his left hand began to come more of a ball of energy as the flame inside of the ball looked wild, but tame. He fed more chakra into his right hand now as he kept himself firmly on his feet, the stamina training was really starting to pay off and this was how it showed. He felt the ball of energy grow as Miyamoto slowed his clockwise motion of his hands, and it showed as the ball of energy started to cbecome less stable, but in places it was beginning to hold true as Miyamoto focused on that ball of energy.
“Thats it, keep it together, not much longer to go now...”
He said aloud as he kept his breathing level, but the flame was starting to grow out of control as the flames licked his skin causing him to blister and burn a bit. The smell of singed hair and skin filled the air around him, but he kept his cool as he fought past the pain. He tried to pull out a bit of the chakra in his right hand, but before he could the ball exploded and sent him flying back into the tree as he felt his head smack the tree he blacked out for just a few seconds. As he came too he took in a deep breath as he felt as if he nearly choked out by what had just happened. His hands hurt and were burnt , though the burns were not severe, but they still stung and it took a few minutes of just taking a break to realize that he could not do this without further research or training.
He gathered his things as he left for the library, making sure to take the shortest possible route there he arrived as what he believed to be 3:00 p.m. had passed. He walked in and checked his bag with the librarian as he searched for chakra generation and control, especially in the fire elemental area. After finding the correct books he studied them for hours, finding out that he needed to start as he did with small amounts of chakra and work it into a circulating ball of energy. While the ball was in its energetic form it was the most maleable to outside influence, and the best way to self teach yourself how to controll and harness this energy will depend on just how much chakra is devoted during the making of the controlled energy stage. He also took mental notes while he was there of how to treat the burns sustained while trying to make fire elemental chakra. While he found out that most of the chakra burns he would sustain would need minimal healing, he also found cases of much more severe burns...such is to be expected of the most uncontrollable substance in the elemental wheel.
As the library was closing Miyamoto made sure to return the books where they went before retreiving his bag and making his way home. The entire way home however, he would walk slow deliberately so that he could focus on bringing up the flame within him, both in his right and left hands. At times it seemed his control was getting better, other times it seemed as if he was going to truly hurt himself by practicing control over fire.
As he arrived home he gave his mother his bento boxed lunch before going upstairs to clean himself off, he also made sure to dress his burs so that he would not get infected. He then ran dwnstairs and sat with his family, noting that his cousins were not present as he looked to his mother. His mother just smiled and told him that they found a couple of houses in the city that would be closer to the hospital so that they would not have a long trek to get their wives to the delivery room. Miyamoto understood, but it still did not hurt any less as now it was just him, his mother, and his grandpa who just happened to be partially blind and fully deaf, he sat at home most of the time, other times he was out with mother running errands or at work. Miyamoto ate with them and was still happy as he still had family to come home to, and after he finished he cleaned off his plate in the sink before giving grandpa and his mother big hugs before retiring to his room. It did not take him long as he soon was asleep soundly as he dreamt about being able to weild both earth and fire chakra as he saved Amekagure from a masked figure that came to destroy it.
When Miyamoto awoke the next morning he showered and got ready for the day, dressing his burns which seemed to already have healed quite a bit as he put on his GI once more as he tied his head band around his head. He was leaving his room as he opened the door and about stepped on his backpack, so he reached down and picked it up noticing its heft he opened it to see two boxed lunches as he smiled to himself. There was also a note taped onto the bag that read that his mother was going to take grandpa for his monthly check up and would be late getting home. Miyamoto's smile faded as he closed up and locked the house before leaving, taking the long route to the training grounds once more, this time trying to keep a grasp on his fire shakra as he moved the small flame in between his fingers deftly and between hands as the manifestation of flames seemed stronger today.
As he arrived to the training grounds he took up a new spot in an open field under the sun. The sun beating down on him as the air hung low as if the pressure had also dropped quite a bit.
“Seems that today will be an eventful day...”
Miyamoto took the stance of the horse as he moved his right hand up and began to push chakra up into his hand and the flame erupted in his hand, the flame was about the size of a boxed lunch. He began to move his hand in clockwise fashion once more as he noticed the flame had become more tangeable as he started to toss it between his two hands moving them in circles as he kept his breathing slow and steady. His chakra levels were strong and steady as he held the ball in his hands, steadily pumping more chakra before taking some away surging the power of the fire in his palms.
“Steady...steady...”
He kept saying to himself as he brought his hands apart as he attempted to split the flame, he noticed however that it did not work as he intended and he was left with a fist sized ball of fire that did not burn him even as it touched his skin.
“That's it...it may not be the control that I want, but it is definetly progress.”
He sighed before closing his hands together as he felt the flame extengish in between his hands. Miyamoto looked to the sky as clouds began to form, and the training grounds seemed empty for it being such a bountiful training day. He sat down and pulled his bag over to him before pulling out one of the boxed lunches as he opened it up to see that his mother had packed him sweet rice cakes and toast with bacon in the first box.
“SWEET!!!”
Miyamoto said as he took a well deserved break for snack time.

Re: Playing with Fire [P, NK, element training]
Thu Aug 18, 2016 2:17 pm
As he ate his lunch box he sat in the grass and was relaxing, as if nothing in the world really mattered. He began to contemplate his family structure and how everything seemingly was going well, but at a pace that Miyamoto did not like at all. He could not help it and he knew this, but the feeling of your family leaving even if it is to grow bigger was hard to contemplate after being so close for as long as he could remember. Miyamoto was reminded again of the stories he had read and what was told of Amekagure's destruction...it pained him to have to remember, but pain was the direct cause of Miyamoto seeking the power he did now. Sure he could be ordinary and just get a normal job working on construction or something, but deep down he knew he was always destined to be a shinobi. He looked to the sky and just breathed calmly as the clouds rolled by, he finished his meal in silence as more shinobi turned up to train. Miyamoto knew he would have to finish his training soon so that others could take advantage of the field without him hanging around.
Miyamoto packed the first box up before standing up and as he belched subtley to himself he pat his stomach.
"Thank you mom, for always being so supportive..."
He said to himself before focusing on the fire inside of him once more. He moved up his arms before him as he leveled out his chakra and breathing as he imagined his hands both filling with fire chakra, he closed his eyes and began to steadily increase the chakra flow to his arms as he felt the warmness of the fire move through his body as if it were on fire as well. Miyamoto opened his eyes with such a tremendous amount of energy it was as if he could see the aura that surrounded him as he looked to his palms. Both held glowing orange balls that seemed to swirl with wild fire inside of them, he began to move his arms around as he kept balance with them. He began to move the spheres of energy up and down his arms as if they followed the chakra lines in his body.
He moved the balls of energy back to his hands as he brought the two spheres together as they merged and remained the same size, but the feeling was immense as the energy swept through his body, invigorating his muscles, and sending his nerves on ege before soothing. Miyamoto began to toss the sphere of energy between his hands, all the while making sure his moves were deliberate as if he were following and mimicking ancient tai-chi or taoist forms to make the most of your energy.
"That is it, I got control of this now, I should be able to call upon this energy whenever I need it."
He said to himself as he tossed the sphere into the air, as soon as it entered the sky it exploded...no noise, no harsh blowback, just a simple release of energy as everything was returned to the earth just as we use energy and renew it. The scene was symbolic and s\calming as Miyamoto was already so excited he could hardly contain himself. He moved his right hand again as he engulfed his hand in fire chakra this time, it did not burn but was pleasantly warm as he moved around performing more difficult movements of Tai Chi so that he would have to balance chakra control and making sure nothing caught fire if he were to misstep.
Miyamoto canceled out his fire chakra having been able to call on it whenever he may need it was enough to confirm his control over the element as he picked up his bag and began his journey home. A few shinobi were standing around taking notes, others were laughing, and some even were remarkable astounded that he was able to do what he did on such short notice. He opened his last boxed lunch and ate it the entire way home. It was cold sushi, but that was ok because it tasted sweet and after being very warm all day this was actually refreshing. As he arrived home he was greeted by a few children a bit younger than him that were using his yard like a football arena, Miyamoto stopped about 5 meters away and pulled out a bottle of water as he drank and watched the kids have fun...he wished he was able to have experienced that earlier in life, but in the story of Miyamoto's life he was not meant for a happy childhood. He was meant to grow powerful and bring back his home from the ruins it was left in.
Miyamoto laughed at himself before finally standing up to go and go up to the kids.
'Hey guys, having fun...mind if I join?"
Miyamoto asked as the kids looked at him, a few sneered, others laughed, then said he did not have to ask as they tossed him the ball. Then they all proceeded to tackle Miyamoto to the ground, they wrestled the ball from his hands and began to ran as they yelled out to everyone.
"CATCH ME IF YOU CAN!!!"
He heard one say as Miyamoto took an easy pace to try and catch them while keeping it fair. All was going well as long as the next generation after Miyamoto was happy and could grow up without worry.
