Kōmon Hyuuga Body Flicker Technique

Komon woke up exhausted, it was a feeling he was starting to get used too. His non stop training was really wreaking havoc on his sleep schedule. But he would eventually get used to it he just needed time to adjust at least that's what he had guessed. He wasn't a med nin by any means, he could be wrong… maybe sleep was essential to being a good ninja. Komon eventually hopped out of bed and began to get ready deciding he was overthinking the sleep thing. That was something he often did to much.. Overthinking. It was probably his greatest weakness, he was unable to just react everything had to be thought out, he couldn't live in the moment.

Heading downstairs he began to get ready for another day of training. Earlier he had seen a couple of taijutsu users moving at incredible speeds that he couldn't keep up with. Wanting to learn some speed of his own he had decided today he was going to research speed based ninjutsu at the library. After downing some waffles and cereal he felt well nourished enough to head out for the day. Running back upstairs to grab his scroll, katana, jounin vest, headband and his dark green hoodie, the key components to his signature outfit. And then headed outside of his apartment.

By now used to his morning routine he already knew he was heading to the library, didn't even have to plan it out. He'd been going there a lot recently to study jutsu he was quickly finding out that the more he read about jutsu the easier it was to perform them. After about 10 minutes of walking he had reached the hidden cloud library and decided to make his way in. upon opening the door he was greeted by the nice librarian. “What kind of book are you looking for?” the woman asked him.

Komon taking a while to think over the answer eventually asked her if she had any books covering jutsu that would make him move faster. The lady looking delighted to be able to do her job, pulled out a D rank non elemental book. “Chapter 3 my boy, it should teach you all you want to know.” Komon looked over the chapter learning about the move. Its name was body flicker and it was supposed to increase your speed by your amount of chakra for short bursts at a time. “That sounds perfect” he thought to himself as he read up on the technique.

After a couple hours of reading and studying the technique Komon decided he was well versed enough in the technique to attempt it and handed the book back to the nice librarian, before heading out the library door and too the training fields. Just like before with the rest of his jutsus he had memorized the signs first. This one was probably the easiest of all his jutsus so far. It was simply the ram symbol. One symbol and of all things the most common one.. Ram. this technique would be easy to weave in battle especially with his combat speed.

Upon reaching the training ground Komon took the center of the field as he usually did and continuously weaved the single sign. Not feeling the need to spend as much time on it as he would for or a more complicated weave he decided he was ready after about 3 minutes of practice. Then he decided to think about how hed use the technique. That was where it was more complicated, he had read about it in the book but the explanation was vague, just saying that his chakra would boost his speed. He guessed he was going to have to do a bit of leg work around that.

So with his first attempt he decided hed try to expel a line of chakra in the direction he planned for his body to move, hoping that the line of chakra would boost his speed as he went. With his plan in tact he weaved the ram sign flawlessly as expected. Then feeling his chakra surging expelled it in a straight line outwards. Hoping that it would help him move faster he began to run over the chakra he had expelled but was disappointed when the chakra did nothing and he was left running at his own normal speed. He was not surprised however, knowing by now that mastering jutsu was typically a trial and error situation. He just had to look at it from another angle.

So taking a step back, Komon went back to the drawing board. “The key to learning this jutsu is to use my chakra to enhance my speed, my first solution was to try and make a line of chakra I could run on and see if it would boost me. That obviously didn’t work out” the genin thought to himself. “Ok then I have two options, I could try pushing out chakra from my hands to boost me, but that seems ridiculous, the better solution would most likely be surrounding myself in a thin layer of chakra and try running with that, it may enhance my body and speed.” In the end he decided to go with the second solution.

Komon now excited to go for another attempt, weaved the ram sign. “This is gonna be so cool” he thought to himself. As he surrounded himself in chakara and envisioned his destination at the tree branch about ten meters in front of him. Activating the jutsu he felt himself burst forward at amazing speeds. He felt like he had almost doubled in speed. And landed directly on the branch. Komon was more than pleased with himself. This jutsu had been surprisingly easy to learn in comparison to electromagnetic murder. Deciding he had trained enough for one day he began to pack up his equipment and make his way off of the training grounds, and began his journey home, planning to catch up on some much needed sleep.
