What doesn't kill you...
Tue Nov 15, 2016 4:22 pm
This day was supposed to be normal. A very simple day with zero complexity whatsoever. Alex kept to himself as he made his way towards the training grounds as he did everyday. Usually he would head there immediately after class at the Academy, but class today was bland and dry. Who needs to know the original creator of the Demon windmill shuriken? Besides, Alex taught himself the class on the night prior. That was the way he always did things. At night, when the town had settled and the moon was high shining its light through his window at the right angle for him to not have to move from his comfy cot he would open his notes for the next day and get a grasp of the class himself. He called it, ~Getting ahead~ he thought to himself as he walked alongside the trail that led to the open field where many Chuunin would come to spar and practice various Jutsu. "I mean come on, It's called a Fuuma Shuriken for a fucking reason. How dense can you be? The Fuuma clan should be well known through out all peer groups in the ninja world. Whether you are a Student or fucking Kage. " He thought out loud as he made a hard right and began walking through the foliage not bothering to attempt stealth. It wasn't that he was cocky or anything. He was a student regardless of how smart he thought he was, and knowing his own level of skill he knew if he made contact with the wrong person he would get creamed.
No, he didn't make an attempt at stealth because of his trust in his own skill. The air here was far more humid than most places throughout the village. This was do to the high amount of people who come here and practice the Kirigakure no Jutsu. A jutsu any and every Shinobi in this village should learn and master. As he got to his spot and worked his way up the very tall tree to get up to his perch, he felt the sweat condensing on his back under his sleeveless hoodie. His hair was sticking to the side of his face, and that was enough to piss him all the way off.
It wasn't necessarily his fault that he was in a terrible mood today. He wouldn't have walked out that class if it wasn't for the blatant ignorance of that little privileged brat in his class. Well she was as privileged as it gets in Kiragakure, and about as stupid as it gets as well. When the class was addressed the question, "Can anyone tell me what clan created the Fumma Shurikan?" Alex had taken it as some sort of joke or trick question. Regardless he went to raise his hand and before he could, she raised hers first. He grimaced staring at her stupid glowing smile and let out a slight "Tch.." facing towards the front of the class crossing his arms.
"The Fuuma clan was created in Kazegakure 524 years ago. The Masumuna family were the first to create and implement this great powerful weapon. "
Alex stood up slamming his textbook shut and turned looking at the girl with piercing gray eyes. His teacher asked "What are you doing?"
"Alright fuckstick listen up because I'm going to drop some actual knowledge on you. Seeing as you weren't paying attention this whole time. First off, The Fuuma Shuriken is a large, four-bladed shuriken possessing pre-eminent sharpness and lethality. This type of shuriken is considered characteristic to the famous Fuuma clan, after whom they were named and who developed them. However, their use is not limited to this clan. Its four blades can be collapsed for easy storage, leading to its nickname Shadow Windmill , Kage Fūsha...BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE!" He exclaimed as he flicked off the kid next to her as he tried to ask Alex to calm down.
"Although a Fuuma Shuriken is normally characterised by curved blades, the blades can be of any shape, such as the straight-edged ones which cannot be folded, Even the giant square-shaped ones are classified as Fuuma shuriken. So while you sit here and BULLSHIT your way through the academy and probably through the rest of your probably very, very short career as a Shinobi. I would probably let go of mommies tit and start learning how to work on your own. Guess what!? The world isn't going to be easy on you just because mommy and daddy have some money. Fuck That! Some one is going to fuck you up one day, plus a pretty little Kunoichi like you? Yeah you might wanna fucking start taking life seriously."
He let that last part out with a slight laugh as he slammed the classroom door behind him.
The more Alex though about it the more pissed he would get. He finally got to the top of his little perch and took out his note pad and pen so he could take some notes if he got lucky and someone came along to train. He let out a deep breathe to calm down and then started reviewing his notes. That's when things got weird. Someone had made there approach on the training field, Two very young slightly familiar Kiragakure youths. He scratched his head with his pen and got slightly excited thinking maybe he was going to see a duel or something.
That's when he noticed both had no head bands, Clenched fists, and they were making there way directly towards Alex..
"Ah shit..I'm gonna take a wild guess and say her brothers didn't like that very much..The fuckers followed me." He said as they were 50 meters away trying there best to look absolutely intimidating. Rayne dropped down from his perch and made his way onto the training grounds. He had only ever been out here alone before so this was interesting. They stopped there approach at 17 meters and Alex did as well. He unzipped his hoodie and through it to the side staring at the two with heavy intensity. He looked down at the one on the lefts hand and noticed something shine and catch his eye. Was that.. a Kunai?..

Azure was making his way home when he walked passed the training grounds Man Learning medical ninjutsu is hard, he told himself as he walked by some kids playing but he could tell that they had other plans for kid they surrounded "Hey wat are you guys doing leave him alone!!" he shouted as he rushed over to them. Azure pulled out one of his kunai and placed on the third kids neck "Whatever you guys have going on with this kid better stop." he said pressing it on his neck Oh man this is something Ren would do he thought to himself as he pushed the kid away and looked at the kid that was about to get his ass kicked. "Hey you okay?" he asked as he smiled at him.

Altar was walking through the academy, enjoying the sight of children learning how to better themselves and the village. Learning truly was an amazing thing. Kirigakure prided itself on two things, it's incredible world-renown bakeries, and it's students. If not for the constant threat of death, Kirigakure would surely be a haven for students and those in love with academia. The halls of the academy were quiet, the rooms filled with joyous learning and knowledge.
Until there came a slam, an exchange of words, and sudden shouting. Masking his chakra, Altar would slide next to the door to the classroom the noise was coming from. Inside, a student was clearly displeased and ignoring the protests of his classmates and instructor as he shouted at someone about the origins of a fuuma shuriken, or something or other, and behind the shouting he thought he could hear the quiet crying of a girl.
Oh. Fuck. No.
As the boy finished his tirade and opened the door, Altar would be there to greet him, delivering a kick to the boy's stomach, hard enough to launch him clear across the classroom and drive the air from his lungs. From here, Altar would blitz through the room faster than anyone in the room could see, pinning the boy to the wall, glaring at the boy with his mismatched eyes.
"Alright fuckstick, listen up cause i'm gonna drop some knowledge on your ass. You are an academy student of Kirigakure no Sato, the bloody mist. The first thing you did wrong, was you ignored your superior, your teacher. We take education very seriously here. If I ever hear of you doing this again, i'll break your arm. Next, you cause an uproar that was very unneeded. You erupted in the middle of class about something so small that it's more degrading for you than it is for her. If I ever hear of you doing this again, i'll break your leg. Lastly, you insulted, demeaned and degraded one of your classmates and fellow students, who will soon be one of your fellow nin. We are not a village of close-knit teamwork, but that is no way to treat an equal, especially not a girl. If I hear of you doing this again, i'll break an arm AND a leg. Now, I expect you to beg for an apology from that poor girl, as well as your teacher and your class. After that, you will sit back down and continue with your class. If it is reported back to me that you left early, I will find you and make good on all my threats." the boy would say, releasing the student from his grasp and shoving him to the front of the class before making his way out of the room, shutting the door behind him before taking his leave of the academy, marking that interjection as his good deed for the day.
Afterwards, the boy would take up a post at the training field. A short while after he had taken post, the same boy as before showed up, sticking around for a while before being jumped by two others. Without a word, a fourth child entered the fray, seemingly helping the academy boy. Grinning, Altar would watch, waiting for an opportune moment to jump in.

"Hey little bitch! You wanna talk to our little sis like that? You don't live long in Kiragakure with a big mouth, but I guess you forgot that huh?" Said the older boy as he started walking a little closer. He was roughly 12 or 13. He had fresh acne on his face. Little pimples with white heads that looked like they were absolutely ready to be popped. He reeked. His body smelled like stale potato chips and chicken broth. He wasn't the one with the weapon though, and that made him obsolete in Alex's mind.
"Look it's not my fault your family raised grade a dumbass's! How about instead of jerking your dad to get your way in life you actually go out and do something?" Alex said in the toughest voice he could. He watched as the older boy halted looking absolutely taken aback. That's when Alex decided to have some fun. The air down in the actual fields was thick and humid. Breathing felt like he was in the hotsprings almost. He was trying his best to look tough but the sweat pouring down his brow must have made him look weak, so he was going to make up for it somehow.
"You know I'm glad to see you aren't letting your education get in the way of your ignorance." He said with a chuckle. The younger boy canted his head to the side slightly and pursed his lips as if he was trying real hard to figure out what had just been said. He smiled, Alex assumed the kid took it as a compliment so he tried again. "I don't think your family is stupid, maybe you guys just have bad luck hen thinking."
The older boy looked at him and let out a loud sarcastic HA. "If you think trying to suck up to us now is gonna save you, well you're dead fucking wrong. Now shut up before I gut you myself." He said screaming loudly. Alex could tell he was getting pissed. The thing is, the longer Alex stood here smelling the boy the only thing he could think of was hurting him even more.
"Alright well I see you set aside this special time to go ahead and humiliate yourself in public so by all means lets just get this over with." Alex said taking a decent fighting stance and reading himself. Before the situation could escalate however, a stranger ran up seeminly out of no where putting a kunai to the younger boys throat. "Whatever you guys have going on with this kid, you better stop." He said. Alex just put his hands down . His eyes watching closely. He noticed the new arrival had a headband.."Shinobi.." Alex said soft enough for only himself to hear.
His eyes lit up, he never actually talked to any mist ninja before. Only his teacher and that was pretty much it. As a matter of fact Alex was known by the ninja who came here to train as just a fanboy. Atleast thats what they would yell at him when they would chase him away when they would practice secret things, even then Alex would find a way to sneak back in and get a good view. There was even a day where he watched someone practice water dragon jutsu.
Alex looked up at the new comer and frowned . "Cool, guess I'm supposed to go back and hear about how I was too weak to fight my own fight right? I bet you're expecting a fucking thank you!" Alex said. "Well how about instead of letting these two live to try this shit again you help me send a message." Alex said as he brought his hands back up again. His chest still hurt from a kick a certain individual gave him earlier on in the day. His head also still throbbed but that was nothing. He had been ganged up on enough times at the academy. He wasn't about to take this shit here at his favorite place. There were many things this villages politics took away from him. Family, Friends...Well no Alex never really tried to make any, but that's beside the point. He was tired of getting his ass kicked. He pointed at the older boy and laughed.
"Like someone tole me earlier, this is Kiragakure no Sato, the bloody mist. So are you gonna live up to this villages name or run away like a coward. Because no matter how strong I WILL NEVER, back down to a shinobi. I will never back down from everything. Even if I get dismembered in the process I would rather fight tooth and nail then lose my place In this village. Now I know i may have lost my cool earlier, but dammit just because there isn't some great ninja war going on that doesn't mean we shouldn't be giving it our all in our studies and in our training! If you too wanna test me I will gladly show you both just how well studied I am." He paused for a moment to look at the Genin. " And if you want to stand in my way then I will just have to do my best to go through you." He said as he brought his left foot around from the front of his body to the side, tracing a C as he got into his stance. "I may not know jutsu but I am kinda tough." He told himself.
He stood there sweating harder than ever as he tried focusing what little bit of chakra he had. He wasn't sure exactly what to do to it but maybe just building up some energy within would make the punches hurt a little bit left. Alex was fast for his age. So he was willing to try and put his speed against these bigger kids strength. He dropped down and squatting and then took off in a full sprint towards the older boy. 6 meters away he would slow down til he was 4 meters away and leap into the air attempting to send a hard roundhouse to the older boys left side of his face. He knew jumping was stupid but he was sure he could counter the next move if he just kept his eyes open.

Training tiiiiiiiiiiime.
A wispy shadow flitted about quietly among the shinobi and students practicing in Training Field A5, searching for a dummy to work on his scant skills in taijutsu with. A small breeze stirred the mists surrounding him and his pitch black overcoat, the flapping fabric around his legs the only active reminder his presence in the physical plane. He was used to being somewhat invisible, of course, but on days like these when he was just trying to focus on himself, he never minded.
He spied an open spot a few dozen meters in front of him, and was all too happy to take it before he heard a ruckus somewhere behind him.
Having been trained to be aware of his surroundings and prepared for combat at a moment's notice, he turned on a dime, a hand already in his weapons pouch to slip a finger in the ring of a kunai before he took a few seconds to ascertain what was going on.
Apparently it was nothing serious, in the grand cycle of life and death Kirigakure experienced. Not on a cosmic scale, at least. For Kaane however...it somewhat was.
It was just a child, like he was. A child being confronted by two opponents at once. A frightful occurrence for someone in his position. He knew. He knew it all too well.
Kaane himself got beaten up a few times, when he had first joined the Academy. He didn't exactly have the most natural talent for wrapping his head around ninjutsu, taijutsu wasn't a natural strong point either, and he'd always had his head in the clouds and one foot in the grave. Not to mention, his status as the son of the village's mortician didn't exactly help him much either. It was inevitable that he'd get hurt at some time or another, being as talentless and weird as he was. But he had always been hurt more so on the inside, than the outside, if he were being honest. There were times where he'd barely get bruised after being ganged up on, and he'd still hold it all in just to shamble home to his father and cry his eyes out. Weakness in that front once defined who he was.
But if there was one thing a shinobi wasn't, definitely a Kiri-nin, at least, it was soft. He was, at one point in time. Perhaps more accurately, he still was. But now he knew when to show it. He certainly didn't show it when he trained his ass off to the point where he was finally able to show his aggressors who was boss, to the point where finally, no one beyond the few acquaintances he had even joked about screwing with him. And at times like these, times this academy student he saw so much of himself in was experiencing, softness was a death sentence.
But this guy already had toughness in spades.
He made his way closer, not wishing to interfere like the other Genin currently in the fray had. It would do a disservice to him, in his opinion, doubting his abilities like that. He was prepared to assist should the need become apparent, however; though death was inevitable, it was still somewhat avoidable, especially for someone as young and brimming with promise as this kid was.
He stopped about next to someone else who was also currently monitoring the altercation from a distance. Kaane had to look up at him to see his face, a subtle smirk of amusement playing on the man's features. With how old he looked and the way he carried himself, he definitely wasn't a Genin like he was. An experienced Chuunin, at the very least.
But rank never intimidated him. The way he saw it, even if most others didn't, the ninja of Kirigakure were his brothers and sisters. Even those who were unfit to be shinobi deserved a modicum of respect for still dedicating themselves to Kiri's ways. Kaane would give an ethereal smile to the man and break the ice in the only, slightly-unsettling way he knew how.
"Say...if that student died here...would you care?"

Azure started to tear up by the comments made by the young boy "You don't have to be so mean I was just helping." he said going for a gut punch on the kid followed by a gab to the ribs. He then put his kunai way and walked over to a bench and sat down "I really need food.." he wined looking into the sky just tbefore he stood up once again and picked up his things "Hey my names Azure by the way and if u need anything just ask okay." he said to the kid as he smiled at him. Azure walked away from the boy really sleepy from adays work.

Altar would stand by, watching the pitiful fight commence and come to a close immediately. As the event settled down, another boy sidled up to Altar, asking him a simple, but redundant question. Looking down to the boy, Altar would raise a single eyebrow and respond.
"That, m'boy, is a loaded question. No, I wouldn't care. I have no reason to care if either of them dropped dead this instant. It's no skin off my back of they were to pass. However, it is my job to ensure they don't. So, in a way, i'm forced to care. Why do you ask?" Altar would say, eyeing the boy up and down. Judging solely off looks, the boy was an academy student. But his chakra let off something just higher than that, that of a genin.
As the scrap finished, one boy seemed to just walk off, taking a seat and complaining. Sighing, Altar would drift towards the seated boy looking down at him with a face if disappointment.
"You came to the training fields to sit and complain? You involve yourself willingly in a fight, throw two punches and walk away? I think not. You came here to train, and train you will. Stand up and follow me" The boy would say, and assuming Azure followed, Altar would walk to the boy he met earlier at the academy, a twisted grin coming over his face as he approached the boy.
"Now, you two are going to spar. To make it fair to the student, no jutsu are allowed. This is a CQC combat experience. Now, begin." the boy would say, taking a few steps back and motioning the boy he had spoken to earlier to his side, speaking to him as well.
"Observe. I want you to tell me as they spar what they are doing right and wrong. What would result in a swift death in a real fight, or what could create a victory." Altar would say, crossing his arms.

Where was the aggression stemming from? When did Alex even begin this cold path of his? The day he got that letter? His thoughts went to the crumpled parchment he kept in his virtually empty equipment pouch. The words Rain Alex Rain hastily scribbled on the paper with the red smudges and mud wiped across the back. No, it wasn't that. He thought back to all the days he spent as a youth watching the real SHinobi train and run on missions. Some would go out on missions and not return. Others would come back maimed slightly. That wasn't it either. He was so comfortable with the thought of death. Almost too comfortable. Sometimes he scared himself with his own thoughts.
As he made his approach towards his aggressor he felt an impact in his gut and the air suddenly fly out of him. He let his arms drop naturally which softened the incoming blow to his ribs. He dropped to his knees clutching his stomach. His eyes were closed. He was so stupid. Alex shook his head and then slapped himself once to shake the pain away and then a second time for good measure. He thought to himself maybe if i had my eyes open I could have taken tha better, or at least seen in coming. He looked up thinking his aggressor caught him off guard only to see the genin standing there running his mouth about being friends or something or the other.
Alex stopped holding his stomach and jumped up slowly, still slightly feeling that 1st blow. Did this kid really just interfere? "Did...Did you just hit me you stupid piece of.."
But before he could finish the boy was already making his leave. Azure. Alex at least recalled the Genin's name. Alex turned back to his original aggressors who were slowly backing away with a bit of fear in there eyes. Actually a lot of fear. Alex was confused and turned around just in time to see the same Ninja that sent him crashing back into his classroom earlier that day. "Oh you gotta be fucking kidding me" Alex said as he brought his guard up preparing himself for what would probably be his first and last real fight. This jackass was serious, he's actually gonna smoke my ass for skipping class. But his thoughts were stopped short hearing the clearly experienced shinobi speak. He really wants me to fight a genin? Not trying to get his hands dirty I see. Maybe he has something else planned, fuck I wish I was strong enough to stab this fucker through those stupid fucking teeth and fix that fucked up grin of his. Alex turned and faced Azure bringing his left leg forward slightly bending at the knee and resting on the ball of his foot.
Muay Thai was the only style of fighting Alex could really do. He had been taught a few basic things when he was 9 and from there altered it to feature some joint and body manipulations. He was small so using his opponents weight against them was something he got used to doing as he pissed off more and more people with his attitude. He bounced softly on the heel of his right foot and extended his left arm a bit further than his right. This allowed him to chamber punches with ease. One hand the Agent the other hand the Patient. He smirked and gestured for the boy to come forward. If the boy came withing 3-4 meters of him Alex would drop down into a squat extending his right leg, using his palms to twist his body clockwise performing a leg sweep, If successful he would follow up with completing his rotation in time to bring his left leg up high and then down with his heel aiming for the boys ribs or back, depending how he fell. Axe kick.
