Some quick Fuiinjusu
Fri Nov 18, 2016 2:22 pm
Senshi sat at his desk inside his room, he was leaned back in his chair feet propped up on the desk as he read from a sealing book he had recently received as a gift from his father for his first kill. He was still greatly confused on that topic and did his best to avoid thinking about it. He would be mortified if anyone entered his room to see him sitting like this, no decorum at all. But his room was his sanctum and he had placed the E rank locking seal on both his door and his window so that only he could gain access to the room. Well within his family. Other shinobi might have a much easier time but he wasn’t exactly too concerned about them. Shaking those thoughts from his head the boy focused back in on his book. It was book specifically geared to the sealing scrolls. A very basic and common Fuuinjutsu technique that would allow him to seal up to twenty items in a single scroll and then carry them around with him without worry about their weight.
He was sure there were further limitation on the technique, which was why he was making sure to study the book so thoroughly before attempting to make his own. Focusing on his book he flipped the page examining the sealing array he would need to draw out on a scroll. He spent well over thirty minuets examining it so that he could get a solid fix in his mind what he needed to do. Then he flipped the page again reading on the order in which he had to place the seals. He again spent thirty minutes reading this over and practicing to memorize it. He knew it was critically important in seals to get the arrays completely correct in the right order or Bad Things might happen. Like the seal exploding or possibly accidentally summoning a Bijuu. Which would be bad, and very dangerous so Senshi took his studies extra seriously, if that was possible. He continued to read through the book, cementing the limitations of the technique into his mind. No people, Bijuu, jutsus, or special weapons like Kirigakure’s Seven Swordsmans legendary weapons.
That was relatively easy to remember and Senshi pushed on reading until shortly he had completed the book. It was after all a very generic and easy to learn technique, frankly almost anyone with chakra was capable of it. Shoving the thoughts aside he pulled his first scroll and his small bottle of chakra ink over. Time to practice. As he started to draw the seal, he had the book open to the page with the seal diagram on it and occasionally flipped the page to ensure he was doing it in the correct order. Once he had completed it, he placed a pen he had on the sealing array, then flattened his right palm against it charging chakra into the seal watching as the pen quickly disappeared. Keeping his hand in contact with the seal he again released chakra into it pleased to see the pen appear with no issues. He grinned and then with a large surge of chakra he tried to experiment to see what would happen. He was disappointed as suddenly the seal lit on fire. He had accidentally destabilized it, and by the time he had stopped the fire more than half the scroll was destroyed. With a loud sigh he tossed it into the trash. Well that was fine he knew how to do the technique and now he knew the consequences of charging too much chakra into a low rank seal.
Standing up and doing a few light stretches to get his blood flowing Senshi put his book on sealing scrolls on his book shelf before grabbing the Fuuinjutsu book that he had learned his Lock and Lock breaking sealing abilities from. Now that he had a team he had, had an idea that would help them stay in contact. Or at least help him know where his teammates were as long as they were within range of his Chakra sensing ability. He would need to study more into sealing or tracking in order to get more range out of it but at least this would be useful in the short term. Senshi allowed a small smile to cross his face as he hummed slightly. He enjoyed the intellectual pursuits more than the physical but due to his Father, Brothers, and Uncle he was often pushed to work on his physical skills more than his mind. While he knew it would undoubtedly save his life, it was boring and other than wielding and practicing with weapons he only did it out of a sense of duty. Also because his father told him to and he couldn’t fathom disobeying his father’s orders. Maybe he would if the Raikage or a Jounin countermanded them but for now he had never entered a situation to warrant it.
Senshi’s eyes roved over the pages of his book that detailed the Fuuinjusu: Marking Seal. It was also a ridiculously easy technique to perform, he just needed to focus so that a small circle with two comma like dashes appeared with a Kanji for what he wanted to specify himself as in between the two comma like slashes appeared. Then he needed to focus on making it incredibly small so that it was super difficult to see and store a bit of his chakra into it. The book was mildly confusing in that it specified a bit of his chakra as a bit of his personal essence. That would allow someone who knew what to look for to find it. Bringing his hand up he focused his chakra into it, delving into his mind be began to envision what the book had stated. He chose the Kanji for his name with a small mark to denote lightning within it. A lightning soldier, then he carefully converted a bit of his chakra to lightning and with all the thoughts in his mind he pressed his hand against his neck. A small shock, much like static electricity rippled through his very chakra system causing him to shiver slightly. Standing up he tilted his head surprised to see a small, almost invisible dot on his neck. He would need to find a different place to put it on for others so that it wouldn’t be visible. He’d test it out when he headed to the training grounds on some animals, before he put it on any of his teammates.
At least this way if it worked his teammates could learn to sense where he was as well by the mark, as long as they could sense chakra and knew what to look for. Senshi picked his book back up, leaning back in his chair with his feet propped on the desk again. It was time to study the final seal he had in mind for today. Once he did he could head to the training grounds to test out his mark seal for a bit and get a feel for its limitations. Plus he would need to practice this second seal out there to gain an idea for just how effective it was. He also didn’t want to release a large amount of water into his room and destroy something. He did intend to do a quick test in the bathroom before heading out to the training grounds to test it at one of the lakes. Though he didn’t have a water element affinity he was debating developing one down the line. He knew it would take a lot of training but he would be able to use it to boost his meager lightning abilities. While he knew he would never be able to become a Ninjutsu specialist due to his low reserves and chakra potency he knew there were several lower ranked water techniques that could boost his low ranked Raiton techniques, and even when he learned them the higher ranked weapons techniques that use Electricty to make them better.
He also knew that through harsh dedication and focus he could learn to be a Ninjutsu specialist and force his chakra to increase in size an potentcy. Frankly however he really had no interest in the chakra laden abilities or being incredibly flashly. He hoped to one day develop enough of a ration affinity so that he could prevent jutsu from being as loud and flashy as they were. It was something that greatly bothered him about hit primary affinity. His few jutsu were just too flashy to use in any type of stealth activity and word in the shinobi corps is that to complete the Raikage’s chuunin exam, a shinobi needed some basic stealth abilities. It made sense really, some higher ranked missions involved a lot of stealth and would be failed if a shinobi was caught, ensuring his ninja had these abilities before promoting them would only ensure not only the villages survival but that of the shinobi sent on the missions. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts he focused back in on the book of sealing in front of him. This was the last basic technique that was in this book, he would need to go searching the shops or shinobi library for more of the easier techniques sometime soon.
At least to just build his knowledge with Fuuinjutsu, he was certainly very interested in it after all. He could see many things that could be done with it that were incredibly powerful. Plus, barring a scarce few techniques most Fuuinjutsu were A rank and below, and once he was good enough with them he would be able to focus on creating his own unique items. It would certainly take a long time, not just to learn Fuuinjutsu but also to learn to create his own seals but he was hesitantly interested in it for now. It would allow him to stretch his mind intellectually while exponentially increasing his abilities. Plus he could tell his father that it could potentially help him in his shop if he found or created a Fuuinjutsu to increase sharpness or hardness into a weapon. Senshi continued to read from the book as the minuets passed, his eyes roving over the words like a starved man. Books were his solace in life, one of the few true things that allowed him to relax when he wasn’t conducting missions or training to become better for the village. Or as had recently begun to happen helping his father bring in heavy loads. His eldest brother was barely stronger than him and his father while a bit stronger was no exceptionally so.
As such when new barrels of metal were brought in his father ordered him to help unload and take them to his shop so as to get the tasks done faster. As it freed up his brothers and his fathers to do more crafting work with their black smithing abilities, and the fact that it was his duty to both obey his father and assist his family in any way Senshi saw no point in complaining. It was good for his strength training anyways, developed his muscles and increased his abilities. If he ran the whole route it also helped a bit with his speed training, so he was pleased that his father was helping him become a better shinobi for the village. Senshi finally reached the page that detailed the seal array and his eyes roamed over it taking delicate care to give his entire focus to the page. He would memorize this seal, and then move on to memorizing the order that it needed to be put in. All the previous pages had detailed specifics about seals that were beyond important to know. How certain markings worked and in what order they were generally used and the common ways to cause a malfunction in the seal. Once Senshi had memorized everything he needed to know about the seals diagrams and then the order that he needed to draw it in he slid his book out of the way pulling his one remaining sealing scroll towards him.
He began to carefully craft the seal he needed, focusing on the book and reading every portion aloud again to ensure he did it correctly. He would need to practice several more before it became muscle memory and he could craft them quicker but for now upping his offensive abilities by putting in a bit of work before hand was right up the young Genin’s aisle. Especially since one of his Uncle’s core commandments had been that the Next Mission Begins Now. It meant that as soon as your previous mission was completed you began preparing and ensuring you were ready for the next mission that would come up. Especially since you never knew when you actually would receive said mission. Senshi finally completed creating the sealing, standing up and performing a quick Fuuinjutsu lock breaking on the seal that was spread across his door he headed to the bathroom. Once there he started the water in the sink placing the seal into the water once the bowl was filled his hands flashed through the signs quickly before he tapped the scroll with his chakra watching all of the water was quickly sucked in. Once that was complete he moved the now dry scroll to the bath tub and performed the signs in reverse before tapping the scroll again and watching as all of the water quickly began expanding out. He was pleased with the results, though he had used only a small amount of water the seal had worked exactly as he needed it too.
Examining the scroll he was displeased to see that there were several smudge marks. Heading back to his room he pulled out the rice he kept and carefully began scrubbing the scroll. It took several minuets but finally he had cleared the scroll of any ink marks and he quickly began re-creating his Water release/sealing scroll. He had to consult his book less than before, but once he was complete he inspected the seal again. Comparing it to the diagram in his book he was incredibly please with the results. It was time for him to head to the training grounds for some physical training and a bit of practice with his new seals. Quickly he placed on both his weapons pouches and judging by the temperature determined he didn’t need one of his long sleeve shirts so simply threw his vest on pocketing his new training scroll and a bottle of ink and some rice to clean it so he could get at least two more attempts out of the paper before it was used up completely. He checked the seal on his window to ensure it was still good then stepped through his bedroom door, quickly reapplying his Fuuinjutsu: Locking seal, he snuck down the stairs and outside his house door.
