Kaen's Late Night Training
Fri Dec 02, 2016 11:55 pm
Kaen had already known how to use an arrow, but what was an arrow without its bow? What was a boxer without his gloves, or a baseball player without his bat? It felt wrong to use the arrow without the bow so he quickly went to work. Today was another training day before he went on his first mission, to finish it... or die.
Three E-Rank missions around the village. Kaen could sometimes be very anti-climatic without even recognizing it. Kaen instantly got to work on trying to manifest his wind chakra again. As usual, he felt it flow through the tendrils in his chest and flow throughout his whole body. It would first spread to his arms and a warm fuzzy feeling would spread inside him giving him goosebumps.
It would then go to his legs, and make him feel as if he could run a 5k in a minute. It went all the way to his legs, to his thighs, forelegs, feet, and all the way to his toes making Kaen want to do jumping jacks. The next place his chakra flowed to was his neck making it feel as if he had a pillow around it. Then he wouldn't dare go farther than that still scared of chakra killing his brain. He might have to ask one of his elder's about this.
Then imagine as Kaen went into his chakra pool that was now flowing around his body and looking for the particles of his wind chakra. Of course, this was all figurative but as he went further into his chakra he'd see small white specks of chakra. He'd gather them all together, and it'd take a while until they filled his whole chakra stream. Then the same thing would happen with his wind chakra that had happened with his pure chakra.
Channeling it throughout his whole body Kaen held out his hands in front of him before starting to form it while looking at his Jutsu Encyclopedia which he had pulled out of his scroll before he started working on this move. It seemed as he needed to curve it to make it an actual 'recurve' bow. As he read through the description he noticed the air pressure needed to be involved. Kaen instantly started to focus his wind chakra with the air pressure making him feel the skill even stronger than before.
Now that he had the basis of wind chakra he had to form it just right. He started to move his hands in a sort of way he imagined the bow. The wooden part of the bow would have the shape of half an oval. Then the string would connect both parts, though this wasn't physical so he had to think larger than that. He would think of half an oval shaped sphere - which would be the bow and the string - he then thought of the wind arrow he had mastered and thought of it going into the slot to fire.
He imagined the string being slightly thin but strong enough at the same time to where he could pull back far enough to shoot it long enough. The bow's frame would be thick like and be set to be curved so as he pulled back the figurative string the bow could actually bend to extend the height. All of a sudden Kaen stopped and fell backward onto the sheets of his bed.
"Chak-ra... Exhau-stion..." Kaen had muttered before he started to drift to sleep. He wasn't in a chakra exhaustion mode of where he could be seriously injured as he slept. It was kind of like a concussion, your head would start to hurt and almost turn into a full out a horrible migraine, where your head won't stop pounding. You'd lose all the power in your body making it feel like gelato and literally just pass out wherever you are, either standing or sitting. The summary would be, don't go through Chakra Exhaustion, it sucks, and here Kaen was experiencing it.
Kaen instantly passed out due to the fact his chakra was at 5% of his full 100% of his chakra pool. Kaen hadn't noticed how much time had passed as he passed out on his bed with his legs and arms hanging limply off the side.
Kaen woke up later with drool trailing down his face. He woke up with bleary eyes as he looked at the clock in his room. It was almost time for bed, but he wasn't tired. Instantly sitting up Kaen almost forgot what happened. It seemed he'd need to excel on training his reserves. Maybe after he got this skill down he could go for some training. Kaen sat up and got into a meditative position. He started focusing on his chakra once again.
If he seemed to understand wind chakra better and get a better control on all of it then the skill that he was trying to learn would be so much better. Kaen breathed in and out calmly and slowly. Bringing chakra to his pores, bloodstream, and organs it started to flow throughout him like a waterfall. He kept it at a steady level, just so he wouldn't explode. Then once again he transferred it into wind chakra.
Exhaling for the last time, Kaen slowly opened his eyes. He brought out his hands starting to form the exact shape he had once done before with an extra help from more chakra he had pulled out of his system. It became easier, and easier until he scrapped one bow and made another. The base was too wide, the string was too thin, and many more excuses.
He kept making the hand seal multiple times to form the bow...
Until he finally made the right one. It was curved at just the right angle with the right size bow. It seemed like it was lean enough that the base would pull back to make the shot longer, and it was easy enough to create once you've got it down. It also took one hand seal as well.
Kaen smiled before opening his window and leaping out of it. He did the hand seal summoning the perfect bow and then had summoned the arrows in the direct place to where he'd shoot. Letting the arrows fly it hit into a tree damaging it, then the next one caving it in a bit more, then the next one making the tree look very weak before his last one was sent right through the tree.
He instantly stopped the wind chakra use wiping the sweat from his forehead. That was a good work out, it made him want to train more. He had already gotten enough sleep so he decided to go to the training grounds now, enjoying the chirping of crickets as he walked towards the green grassed area.
He sat on the grass once again enjoying the stars for a bit. It'd be nicer if Chisana was laying right next to him, enjoying something peaceful for once as he life wasn't pleasant. Shaking his head at the thought, Kaen pulled out his Jutsu Encylopedia once again hoping to learn even more from the small book. It seemed as if he'd need a taijutsu style instead of focusing on a brawler sort of style.
Though Kaen wasn't going to do that until later, he was actually going to condition his body for the techniques he wanted to practice. The boy instantly dropped to the ground doing push-ups, it seemed as if he'd do enough pushups, and then he'd do lots of sit-ups, jumping jacks, squats, pull ups, and everything else that would make him physically fit. He would then study a bit about chakra theory, and even practice his other skills.
Kaen stood up sweating as he took off his shirt. There was nothing impressive to see there, except for his small muscles on his arms, but he still had a long way to go before he could be considered 'ripped as a fat girl's pants' or so as his crazy dad put it. Laying straight on his back Kaen started doing his sit-ups.
As he did them he thought of how far he had gotten so far. He hadn't known anything about life before he wanted to become a ninja. He understood the concept of a ninja as his father was one, but why become a ninja. Kaen hadn't asked his dad that because his reply would be a stupid one. After Kae had realized what had happened to his mother he had decided that he wanted to help everybody. That lead to him wanting to do medical ninjutsu. His hidden clan that had come from his mother's side interested him in Ninjutsu.
He was still thinking about going for Taijutsu (for his dad's side of specialty) or Genjutsu for his own personal desire. It was all confusing, though. As he finished training he decided to actual practice the taijutsu.
The first skill he was going to get down was Leaf Whirlwind. It was a feint and then attack move, which would be easy enough for Kaen to learn. He first adopted the stance of it, before practicing his kicking as the skill was basically that.
Kaen started to run in place, before jogging around the grounds trying to get his legs to feel more pumped up. He started to kick the trees from side to side, and then straight. Low kicks, high kicks, middle kicks, roundhouse kicks, high jump kicks, drop kicks, and everything else related to kicks that he could think of. It seemed the skill wasn't that hard to learn it just took a lot of patience.
He got the stance down, and he had gotten the kicks down. Now he would do some more conditioning to his body before he continued as the term 'No Pain. No Gain.' had come to the boy's mind. He jumped up latching his hands onto the tree as he struggled to pull up. He grunted as he excelled his chakra through his body once again boosting him by just a bit as he pulled up.
"Da-damn it," Kaen muttered to himself by the fifth pull-up. It seemed to get harder and harder as the boy lifted his body weight. He instantly fell down when it was the seventh pull-up and he fell ungracefully of course. Pulling out a flask of water from his backpack that he had laid by the tree he had taken a huge gulp of cold refreshing water. He laid on his back for a while enjoying the night sky and crisp cold air against his sweaty hot skin and clothing.
Standing up again shaking, he started to practice the kicks again. The key to it was speed and strength. You need to be fast enough to feint the attack, and then actually punish them. That is when you actually attack you need to put enough power into your blow to actually harm your opponent. Kaen could actually find some taijutsu styles to go with this one move. It would be easy if he just looked at the Jutsu Encylopedia, as it had lots of things in it.
Kaen once again took a break after practicing with the style again, it seemed to be getting easier though which was good news. The black-haired boy sat up slowly as he cracked his knuckles. His father probably was wondering where he was, or he wasn't even home.
That fueled Kaen's anger as he stood up again, forcing his body to move. He spun around in a kick, before dropping to the ground and performing a sweeping kick to the poor tree that had done nothing to the Yuki. He constantly smashed his legs into the tree, hurting himself more than he hurt the life in front of him.
Why was his father always like this? Had he blamed his son for his mother's death even though he couldn't even be conscious for the event? Maybe, if she was alive he wouldn't have been a ninja. Going out to fight for his life every day, protecting the people that he cared for and loved, trying to remember his mother the best way he could following in her footsteps!
At Kaen's last sentence in his mind, he swung his leg as hard as he could, so hard that he had heard something crack. Kaen went out of his raging stupor to look at the tree that was actually broken into. He was quite terrified that he had broken his foot, but that wasn't the case.
Sighing lightly, Kaen fell on his butt. He missed his mother even though he hadn't met her once, but that didn't mean he hadn't dreamed of them training together. Her sweet kiss and blueberry like smell that would cause him to fall to sleep as she sang him a lullaby or read him a story. Kissing his forehead lightly as he went to sleep.
Going shopping together, laughing at each other's jokes, and just having a good time as mother and son. Friend and friend... but it'd never be like that. His father hardly gave him the time of day ever since he wanted to become a ninja. That made a lightbulb go off in Kaen's head. What if he was reminding his dad too much of his mother and wanted him to stop trying to become a ninja.
That would be a thought for another day; He was just happy that he had gotten this technique down. The next that he would do is get control of his anger because on the field that could cost him his life. Kaen went to practice more with the skill as he set up targets carved out of the wood of the tree with his kunai and then scribbled on with a dull pencil.
Kaen would launch himself towards the target trying to hit his leg square in the middle of the make-shift wood. He would then put them lower each time until he was too tired to continue. Kaen decided he would take his leave.
