Komons jerked his entire body to the side to dodge the attack that had just been sent at him. And watched in awe as Tayo’s fist swung straight past him, the genjutsu specialist had a speed to his attacks that left even Komon in envy, and he had to push himself to his limit’s to keep up with the man. As the fist flew past his face komon took a step closer to the man's body and sent out a punch connecting with the man's chest, the force of his blow wouldn’t be enough to deal a significant amount of damage but was more intended to create distance between the two so komon would have a moment to catch his breath.

All was fair in this spar, as the two had agreed at the beginning of the match so when Komon sent the man backwards he created a cross with his pointing and middle fingers on each hand to form the clone hand seal. “Shadow Clone Jutsu!” he said as clouds of smoke appeared around him before dispersing and revealing two exact copies of himself both with swords drawn standing 2 meters on each side of him. Tayo seemed concerned about the new turn in events, but showed no intention of giving up and motioned for Komon to continue.

“Well he’s certainly got guts that's for sure…” Komon thought to himself as he looked at the man’s face, Komon hadn’t realized it at the moment but the eye contact he had just made would prove to be a crucial mistake in his upcoming exchange of blows. He had just fallen victim to Tayo’s eye mind reading ninjutsu. Of course Komon was unaware of his mistake and continued his attack as if he had no knowledge of it. He subconsciously directed his clones to the left and right of Tayo before making both clones and himself charge in unison.

The clone to the right was going to swing his katana from the air downwards onto Tayo’s vest shoulder pad, the force from this attack would injure tayo but not kill, Komon himself would attack head on sending a jab at the man's chest, again this attack was not intended to kill but injure, the two were simply sparring and Komon had no intention of killing his friend, and the last clone on the left would go for Tayo’s legs at the exact moment the other two would attack. Komon had planned every single point of this attack out in his head and saw no way for Tayo to beat it. Eager to execute it he began his onslaught with a smirk on his face.

As he neared his opponent he couldn’t help but notice Tayo’s left eye was grey, almost as if it had gone blind. He didn’t let the new information set him off course however as his clone to the right of tayo raised his katana for his attack at the man’s shoulder he extended his arm to hit the man in the chest and his other clone began to dive for the mans legs. His victory was imminent and there was nothing Tayo could do about it… Or so he thought.

Komon was once more left in awe of the kumogakure jounin’s abilities, Tayo had seen the clone to the left diving towards his legs and in response jumped into the air, causing Komons clone to slide under him, knowing Komon was still charging at him he extended the legs while he was in the air sending a drop kick to Komon’s chest, knowing his legs had a longer reach than Komon’s arms. While also extending his right arm which was wielding a kunai to deflect the sword swing the clone to the right had sent at him.

The drop kick he had sent in Komon’s direction caused the gennin to fly backwards into a nearby tree, while the deflection of the sword had caused the katana to fly out of the clone to the rights hand and fall nearby into a patch of grass, this had all happened in about half a second and Tayo was still in the air, with a clone sliding underneath him he directed his weight to fall onto the carbon copy of Komon slamming into him and causing him to disperse into a puff of smoke. Now only one clone remained and Tayo quickly dealt with it by throwing his kunai he was already wielding into the remaining clones face, causing it to disperse into smoke along with the earlier one.

Komon watched all this happen almost in a state of shock, the man had reacted as if he had known what Komon was going to do before he had even thought about it. “That was amazing…” He thought to himself. Tayo seemed relatively amused with himself before he said “Thanks I thought so too” Komon was startled by what the man had just said, Komon hadn’t said anything at all, at least not out loud for Tayo to hear. “It appears you still haven’t figured it out Komon.. Why don’t you try another attack” Tayo teased at the gennin, who was clearly confused.

Not looking forward to another exchange of blows with the man who had just made him look like an infant wielding a sword, Komon decided he needed to think harder about his next course of action. Komon suspected that the grey eye had something to do with the man's newfound reaction time, and had noticed that the man had seemed almost blind in respect to his left eye, he intended to use that to his advantage, first Komon slammed his hand to the ground causing a wall of earth to be put between him and the genjutsu specialist, then he would once more use shadow clone jutsu creating a mirror image of himself, and both would draw forth 4 shuriken.

The earth wall would keep this series of events hidden from his opponent and allow him an element of surprise. At least Komon thought it would, unaware that tayo was listening to every thought he had in his head at the moment. Confident that his method would work Komon and his clone jumped out from behind the wall in unison, the clone and himself both launching 4 shuriken as they did so. The clone attacked from the right where Tayo’s eye was still working perfectly fine and did so with normal shuriken, primarily as a distraction for Komon’s actual attack.

Komon had sent forth a volley of chakra infused shuriken at his friend hoping that the enhanced shuriken would catch him off guard in his blind eye. He watched as the shuriken, that where eight in total shot forward at the man, but to his surprise when he locked eyes on Tayo the man already had a kunai drawn and easily deflected the first four normal shuriken that had come from Komon’s clone. He however made no effort to dodge Komon’s enhanced shuriken. At first Komon had thought this was because he simply couldn’t see this from his own blind eye, but he later realized it was because of a completely different reason.

“Poof!” he heard Tayo tease right before the shuriken hit him and a puff of smoke appeared, a metal clank could be heard ringing from within the smoke and as it cleared Komon was alarmed to see his own katana that his clone had wielded and been disarmed of had been used for a substitution jutsu. Tayo had known the attack well before it had even come into play and adjusted accordingly. Suddenly the entire fight was beginning to make sense to him, Tayo wasn’t fighting so well because of increased reflexes. “He’s reading my mind with some kind of ninjutsu” Komon thought to himself.

And almost as soon as he thought it he heard clapping from behind him. “Aaaaand you finally figured it out!” Tayo said. Komon didn’t appreciate the man’s humor, the shinobi had entered his mind without his permission, a private place that he had thought was completely his own and secure. To have his mind read felt like the upmost violation he could think of, and he intended to tell Tayo that, but when he looked at him the man’s eye was no longer grey. “I’m sorry Komon, but I only looked at your active thought I’d never scavenge through an allies memories without consent” Tayo assured him, apparently the man had caught onto Komon’s dislike of the technique the second Komon had begun to feel angry.

Komon could tell that the man was being sincere and that his memories had been ignored by the man. Taking this into consideration he thanked the man for his restraint, and then he began to think about the capabilities of the technique. As much as he disliked it being used on himself he had to admit that it’s capabilities in combat where immense, and that it would certainly pay off to have it in his arsenal. Now interested he turned to look at Tayo, the Jounin hadn’t taught him anything since his Temporary Paralysis Technique, he seemed to specialize in these kind of visual based ninjutsu along with his genjutsu, and would make a great teacher.

“Would you be willing to teach me the technique?” Komon asked the jounin in front of him. Tayo seemed startled at first, just seconds ago the kid had clearly been pissed at him for using the technique on him and now he was asking to learn it merely seconds later. Tayo smiled as he rubbed the back of his head with his hand and sighed, “I was hoping to go home and eat, but if you're willing to train hard and get this over with quickly, I guess I could teach it to you. It’s an A rank like your chidori technique, so hard work will be a given to learn it.”

Komon’s eyes lit up upon hearing the rank of the technique, he had been wanting to learn more A ranks since he had vowed to leave the library but they all required a massive amount of knowledge to learn, and he had no access to books without the library to study the techniques like he would have in the past. As he saw it a jounin was the next best thing to the library when it came to learning these type’s of techniques and Tayo had just offered to teach him himself. Quickly and excitedly he nodded his head to show the jounin that he was willing to work his ass off to learn this A rank technique.

Seeing Komon’s excited reaction relieved Tayo, an eager student was often a good one, he just hoped that Komon would retain that excitement as he began the training, it would be essential for learning it as it was a difficult technique and required dedication to learn it. “Alright, follow me back to the village, we will find a group of people and practice on them.” Tayo said as he raised his arm turning towards the village and waving his arm towards it, signaling Komon to follow him as he walked with both his body language and voice.

The gennin and the jounin walked side by side down the streets of Kumogakure and after several minutes found their destination, there was a large tower in the center of the alley and Tayo began to use his chakra control to scale it, Komon following closely behind. The tower was about four stories high and presented a great view of the village below them. Looking down at the street Tayo spotted a group of children playing a popular children's game, that involved kicking a ball. With the children in sight he tapped Komon on the shoulder signaling him to watch, and began to explain how they would be training.

“Alright Komon, if you want to learn the eye mind reading technique you need to learn how to break past peoples mental defenses, children's minds are the least developed and the easiest to bypass.. That group of kids down there will be your training dummies for the day. I want you to break into their subconscious and tell me what they’re going to do before they do it. Any questions?” Tayo asked the gennin in front of him.

Komon responded almost instantly shooting off a question at the seasoned jounin. “Yah actually.. So I get that I’m supposed to read their minds and all, but you didn’t tell me how, the jutsu is an A rank so I don't really see myself just figuring it out on my own, how do I do it?” Komon asked the man clearly confused on how to continue. Tayo listened to the gennin ask for help and sighed before continuing. The jutsu is activated based on sight, all you have to do is look at someone in order to create a mental link, they however have to be within 20 meters of you as that is the jutsu’s maximum range, once the link is made you need to use your chakra to break past their mental defenses, your chakra has to overpower theirs in order for this to work. Alright… that’s pretty much it. You got it?” He questioned the gennin once more.

Komon felt like he understood what the man was saying and felt confident that he could begin his training, but before he could do that he had to select his target, the children below where still playing the game with the ball, two battling each other over control of the ball and the other two guarding their respective nets. Komon’s assignment was to read one of their minds and predict what they were gonna do before they actually did it. One of the two battling over the ball broke through the other as he watched and Komon decided that the kid would be his target.

Focusing his chakra he locked his eye’s onto the boy and could feel his consciousness leap forward, as he did this his entire left field of vision seemed to leave him, and he began to realize that the downside to this technique was that his left eye would lose its vision while the technique was active, well loss of vision wasn’t exactly a correct term, Komon just couldn’t really describe what he was seeing through his left eye, it was like another plain of existence all together, the boy’s subconscious. He couldn’t interact with it however as the boy’s chakra system was still restraining him. Like Tayo said he would have to overpower the boy’s chakra system in order to read his mind.
Desperately wanting to gain access to the new ability Komon began to pulsate his chakra in the strange realm his left eye was seeing pressing it against the barrier that seemed to protect the boy’s psych from Komon’s reach. The barrier was sturdy and more than capable of defending itself against the small amount Komon was sending out, frustrated Komon began to expel more putting more strain on himself and slammed it against the barrier once more, this time as he did so he noticed through his right eye peering into the actual world in front of him that the kid he was targeting brought his palm to his head as if Komon’s efforts were working.

This bit of information gave Komon a bit more confidence in his attempts as he could now see the physical strain in the boy he was attacking, he knew in the future he would be able to bypass his target's defenses without them physically being able to notice anything, but for now he would take what he could get and slammed as much chakra as he could expel at once into the child's mental defense shattering it and bypassing it. Upon doing so he could instantly hear the boy’s active thought’s. It was like a radio broadcasting straight to Komons ears Komon could also see what the boy was seeing through a small panel in the realm his left eye peered into.

Through it Komon could see the boy focusing on the ball at his feet, and hear what he was planning on doing. “Ill kick it to that opening, in the top left corner of the net… He always seems to miss that block” Komon was amazed he had gotten the hang of this jutsu so fast, and quickly turned to Tayo informing him that the boy was going to kick the ball to the top left corner of the net, before turning back to watch the boy do just that. Pleased with his success in using the jutsu Komon pumped his hand into the air to celebrate. Tayo seemed pleased by the boys progress as well, but he was not done teaching the boy by any means.

“Alright Komon, what you just witnessed was the boys active thought’s, that is basically a live feed of what the boy is thinking, but with eye mind reading you can go deeper, you can dive into the boy’s memories, find out information and gain intel. This is extremely useful in the field and can help you gain an edge on your opponent, find a weakness that only they know about and use it against them. I want you to peer into this boy's memories and find his name. I’ve already done it so I’ll know if you are right or not.” Tayo relayed to the boy.

Komon followed the jounins instructions keeping his newfound ninjutsu active and continued to explore the realm his left eye was peering into. After a bit of searching he found a vast amount of what appeared to be memories and began to sort through them, after sifting through information he found a memory from a couple days ago of the boy leaving his house to go play with his friends. On his way out the child waved to his mom and said “Bye Mom!” to which his mother replied “Bye Yiku”

Komon turned to face tayo and relay the information to him satisfied with himself for mastering his second A rank jutsu. Tayo then nodded to confirm that Komon was correct and the two said their goodbyes before Tayo went home to eat and Komon went home to rest, exhausted from his day of training.

Hi there! So your spec is listed as Nin but you're training an A rank medical jutsu. Without medical spec, you may not train any med jutsu higher than C rank. <3
