Blood Games: 2+2=Violence
Sun Jan 01, 2017 11:35 am
Held in a small arena built specifically for this. Stone floor for the outer 20 meters, water from the centre to 15 metres out, the water is 10 foot deep, circular 70 meter diameter arena, 10 foot high walls surrounding with a viewing area above. No rooftop to allow the patter of rain if it should come. Xyxer sat at one edge of the arena, awaiting the entrances of the shinobi as well as their gaze upon him so he could start the event. Of course, by this point there was a variety of bone fragments, and perhaps the odd limb, littering the area, despite no fight having really occurred since every match had basically been a forfeit at this point, but hey, NPC's exist so let's pretend they got beat up to add to the atmosphere, right? The blood in the center was turning a faint crimson from the streams of blood that steadily snaked down towards the water.
The Mizukage felt like adding an element of luck to this, perhaps these people were friends with one another outside of the arena and would have an unfair synergy advantage.. but that was not going to be likely at this point, for the Mizukage had brought in the Mizukage hat, which had FOUR coiled pieces of paper, four! Picking up two pieces of paper because he didn't care too much for the theatrics of it all, Xyxer unrolled the pieces of paper to announce to the people, who were likely in the arena by now, the teams, "Kozurou and Hinoki will form one team, and thus Yazu and Ren will form the opposing side! The aim of this is to force your opposition to stop fighting and secede victory to you! Whether this is done through maiming, unconsciousness or even death, the goal is the same. The team that remains standing in the end will be the winner of this round."
[Rules are basically the same at this point, but the Chuunin have to follow the jutsu restrictions of Genin]

Hinoki opened his eyes in shock. The last thing he remembered was arriving early to the arena and deciding to take a small nap outside against a thick tree trunk to pass the time instead of waiting idly while at the same time energising himself for the fight. The Sun had set faintly up into the misty sky yet a stray ray pierced the heavy curtain of mist and made its way straight onto Hinoki, waking him from his light slumber. It also indicated that he was late! He was once again dressed in his usual blue floral shirt and knee-length bermudas but he was wearing sandals instead of his usual flip-flops and over his shirt he was wearing a light blue long-sleeved overcoat that came down to above his knees and tied together in the middle with a sash that also held his weapon pouches. On the back of it, The Hyuga symbol lay sewn in. The ceremonial clothing was now all dirty and ragged from the nap.
He ran as fast as he could into the Arena, quickly passing trough the tunnel as fast as his obese weight allowed him. As soon as he made his way outside, His eyes instantly found themselves on the great Mizukage who sat majestically on his throne, with two fierce hounds at his side. Hinoki instantly did a quick bow of respect, the fear that was installed deep into him reminding him even in such a hurried and embarrassed state. He expected the fight to already have begun or at least be on its way yet all he could see was his teammate Kozai waiting. There seemed to be no sign of their opponents. Hinoki stood there at the entrance of the tunnel, unsure what to do.

Ren strode out onto the battle field, things hadn't gone exactly as planned; He'd hoped to avoid the pointless waste of life, yet this pointless facade had cost the lives of 4 of his students and counting. Still more were in the makeshift medical ward in one of the preparation rooms, Ren had spent the past few hours healing what wounds he could, and trying to save the lives of his students, only to glance up at the clock and realise he was late for the final match. Not a 'mistake' that Xyxer would be happy with no doubt, but one that Ren would still have chosen to make if he was given the opportunity again. Ren strode out into the arena, tired and somewhat drained from his work and saw that the other examiner wasn't there yet either. 'We'll that's good, I guess he was held up too' Ren thought and breathed a sigh of relief before striding into the arena proper, and looking out across at the two students who had made it this far.
One, unsurprisingly was the top of his class. Kozurou Kaguya an enigmatic loner who had been the best student at the accademy since well before Ren took over. The boy was also one of the few Ren had never had the pleasure of interacting with, the child preferring to shun contact with his instructors and train on his own. Looking at the results of the last few matches, Ren couldn't deny that his training had certainly seemed to work. Most of the dismemberments and students in his makeshift medical ward was the result of this one child. The other contender, was a surprise however, Hinoki Hyuga, the waste of space that Ren had expected to end up as the first casualty of the blood games had managed to fight his way through all of his matches, and despite a few close calls the boy was relatively unscathed on top of all that. Ren caught himself about to make another insulting quip at the boy before he caught himself, after a moment he decided that if there was ever a time to offer the boy some encoragement it would be now. "You've both done very well to make it this far, I'm both impressed and proud of you." Ren would call out, looking at young hinoki, though at this distance the distinction between that and simply looking at the both of them was almost imperceptible, before continuing his words. "You've both proven that you are the best of your class, and I'm proud of you both for making it this far".

Kozai snapped Hinoki out of daze, prompting him to put his mind into combat mode; or what passed for combat mode in terms of Hinoki. After a few seconds, Hinoki would formulate what he thought would be a good reply. “Well, Emmmm….I am a Hyuga, exclusively short range. If you manage to somehow subdue her or stop her in her tracks, I might be able to cripple her Chakra Network and then we can finish her off easily, I guess.” Hinoki would hesitantly reply in the same low tone that Kozai used, making sure to cover his mouth in a way that Ren couldn’t read his lips. Even though this Kozai guy seemed to know what he was doing, He wasn’t really confident they could defeat his sensei. She was far faster than him and he little to no clue what her fighting style was. Yet, he did his best not to show his fear to his Sensei, trying desperately to keep up a poker face, especially due to him being in full view of the great Mizukage.
Preparing himself for battle, Hinoki would activate his Byakugan and wait for Kozai’s response and then slowly start making his way to Kozai's side unless interrupted; His attention focused on Ren. This wasn’t going to be easy.

Ren saw Hinoki move towards Kozai and began too start to run around the side of the arena, building up momentum and sticking to the concrete circle rather than running across the water. Assuming nothing happened to cause him to change his strategy once Ren was within 10 meters off the two of them Ren would lift up his right hand and release a bolt of force towards Hinoki who having turned too talk to Kozai was facing away from Ren, moreover assuming nothing changed Ren would have positioned himself such that Hinoki would be obscuring Kozai's vision of the bolt

Before Kozai could comment on Hinoki’s plan, Ren was already on the move. She was fast, yet Hinoki could track her easily thanks to his enhanced vision. As soon as Ren was 25% to her destination, he would plunge his hand into his weapon pouch and palmed two shuriken, hidden in the long sleeve of his overcoat. She was picking up speed and even with his Byakugan, he knew he had to step up his game and be careful. In the back of his vision, he noticed Kozai’s chakra system flare up slightly and melding with some object he had in his hand. “Nice, Guess he is already on the offensive.”
Unsure if she was going for a hand to hand strike or a close-quarters ranged strike, Hinoki stood his ground before he saw chakra flare up into her right arm; As soon as he saw the flare moving up her now outstretched hand, he moved 5 meters to the left, Bring himself 2 meters away from Kozai, ending up to the South-West of him (aka behind him). As soon as he got clear from Kozai's mass, and could see Ren clearly; He flung two shuriken at Ren at the speed of 55 and sharpness of 50; one over another, to inhibit his opponent’s reaction time; both aimed at her chest.
Should anything out of the ordinary happen, Hinoki's actions would change accordingly.
