Peek A Cook [Mission] [P]

Mission:

”Are you ready yet, Shouhei. If not, you need to hurry up.” His mother asked from somewhere down the hall hastening him in dressing up for a visit to a local restaurant with some clients. He was of that age where he had to attend business dealings, so that was what he was going to do. He also had a secret mission to carry out, but that was a detail for later. As for why he was late? He had accidentally gotten pulled in by a book on human anatomy which had eaten up all of his time. He couldn’t help it at all. It first started with him needing to know a little more about the subject to apply chakra based healing techniques properly, but a few chapters in he couldn’t get his nose out. That was of course until his father had knocked on his door about twenty minutes ago, to remind him to get his kimono ready. A traditional one, but with a twist in the form of coloring. The upper part of it was white until you came down to belt which was black, and from there on downward it went from grey to black with a gradient effect.

“I just finished, Mother.” Shouhei called back as he finished combing his hair and brushing his teeth to freshen his breath. He couldn’t be smelling like a corpse after all. Okay not that his breath normally smelled like that, but that was the thought behind it. Shouhei couldn’t help but being a little nervous. Not since the contract with the queen have they had this big a contract and this dinner wasn’t so much about negotiating the terms as it was about making a good impression. Hurrying out of his room, Shouhei went to the front door and put on his sandals before mounting the carriage outside the walls of the compound.

Driving in the carriage was a boring experience for two reasons. His parents were talking among themselves, and he hadn’t brought a book with him to read. However, one thing was convenient. Someone, somewhere had been talking that they were going to one of the finest restaurants in Hoshi, which had caused the mission center to slide a task down for him from above. When Shouhei first had written the note, he thought he was supposed to put on a pair of glasses and do espionage, but it was a lot simpler than that. He just had to wait outside of the restaurant for a package to have handed over to him with the code word ‘The Lavender Peacock’ then hand it over to someone else. Or rather, wait for him or her to say the password then hand it over. That was simple enough.

An hour or two later of socializing at the restaurant, Shouhei finally found an excuse to catch some fresh air when the lady of the bishop they were negotiating with went to the bathroom. While he was almost an adult he was still partly seen as a child so he could excuse himself that much when others had already left the table event thought it was temporarily.  Now standing outside he was waiting for whomever had the package to arrive, while he had his hands inside the sleeves of his kimono.

Hikari was sitting in the room at her apartment. It was 4:30 in the afternoon and Hikari had a book and was reading it to distract herself from the box she was holding in her room.. She was given it at the time she had requested the mission. The young kunochi was told this was the secret ingredient of a great recipie that the world’s finest restaurant used. As  cook, the young Hikari wanted more than anything to find out what was in the package, but was told specificly that she wasn’t allowed to look in it. As such, to distract her for the temptation, she did what she always did to distract herself, read ninjututsu books. The one that she was looking at the most was an A rank fire jutsu called Majestic Fire Destruction. She read it and here was the summery of it.
Majestic Fire Destruction is an A rank fire style jutsu. After forming the hand signs, Rat → Ox → Dog → Horse → Monkey → Boar → Tiger, the user can summon forth a great sized stream of fire from their mouth; this jutsu is much like its sister jutsu, Great Fire Annihilation. The only difference is that this jutsu does not widen when summoned, and is used for hit hitting a single area. The user can perform this technique by taking a deep breath, and forming fire in the user’s lungs. Once this is done, the user exhales it, shooting the flame at their intended target.

Hikari would read this over a few times before putting the book down and looking at the package. It was SO tempting for HIkari to open it! She could become one of the world’s best chiefs in the world by just finding out what was in the contents of the package was! Hikari would take a deep breath and calm herself down though. She was a kunochi, not a perfesionl chief. This was her mission, and she was to follow through it to the letter. As Time passed, it turned to 5:00 Hikari would figure that she should change into mission wear. She was told not to wear her normal combat outfit so that no one could tell she was on Hoshi business, but at the same time not to wear something that would inhibit her movement incase she had to run or fight. Hikari would go through her closet, she had a lot of clothes now, but which one was best? After a few minutes, she would find a dress that would suit her needs, being nice enough to go to a restraint in, but not restricting her movements to the point that she couldn’t fight.

Spoiler:

Usualy, Hikari would be a lot more scared to wear something that showed so much skin, but after her last mission, she felt a little bit more comfortable with it. (Long story, don’t worry about it.)
With that, Hikari would go out and see that she had spent a long time looking for her outfit, it was almost the pick up time! Hikari would go, grab the package and then go out and pick up the package.

[later that night, at the meet up point.]

Hikari would be carrying the bag, looking for someone she recognized as the drop off person. After some time, she would see outside of the restaurant that she was supposed to make the drop of, a handsome looking  Shoushei Sato, sitting around looking like he was waiting for someone. Hikari Namikaze would go up and smile to him.   “Hello Shoushei! Hikari would smile at him, here for a family affair? Or have you found a date? Or are you on a mission?”

Although he was standing up in such a way that a cigarette wouldn’t look that foreign in his mouth, he was indeed waiting on someone with a package. Then when he saw something red approaching, his eyes locked onto it. After realizing who it was and what she was wearing, Shouhei blushed. Although, she needed something more on her bust, he still couldn’t help but liking what he saw.

“Ehm ehhhh--- One of each if you are up for it?” He shyly asked. “But yeah. I was here with family then I was told to wait for someone. Is that package for me?”

Hikari would smile and giggle at his what he was saying. "Well, maybe, I do have a package, but there is a code word. I belive it is the lavander peacock if I remember correctly!". with that Hikari would bow and give the young genin the package. She still wanted to see what was in it. But Hikari would give a bow and would leave.

Shouhei nodded and accepted the package. “If you want a date, we might have to find another day to do it on. We are having dinner with a bishop. See you another time.” Then he looked at the address and went to the place in question.

At the address he would know on the door – or ring on the bell – and said nothing but. “The Lavender Peacock brings you a package.” Upon or nod or some other affirmative action, he handed the package over.

It was a bright and sunny morning where you could find Nano Gōka sitting in his apartment, awaiting a special package only he could receive. The reason only he could receive it, he had no idea but it seemed simple enough. All he had to do was remember the code word. The Lavender Peacock. Whilst waiting for the package, Nano decided he needed to do something while sitting there waiting. Nano went to his bookshelf and searched for a book that interested him. There was wind ninjutsu but that was too destructive for in the apartment. There was Medical jutsu but he had nothing to practice on. Eventually Nano settled on a Space/Time jutsu book.

He flipped to the first chapter and read the heading. 'Mass Shift.' He continued to read through the whole page, 'Mass Shift is a technique used to move an object through space with your mind. While this technique is relatively weak, it is commonly used to trip the user's foe or retrieving lost weapons. To use this technique, one must reach out to the object with their will whilst doing the Rat hand seal. If it is done correctly, the object should glow gold before moving through the air towards you.'

Nano decided to try the jutsu out on a nearby sandal he had left on the floor. He performed the Rat hand seal while he stretched his will and chakra towards the sandal. The shinobi sandal glowed gold for a moment before hovering slightly in the air. Unfortunately that was as far as it would go. After 5 seconds of it hovering in the air, unmoving, the golden glow subsided and the shoe fell to the ground.

Nano slapped his knee in frustration, leaving a bright red mark. Nano stopped and imagined the shinobi sandal. This time, Nano made a point to not try pulling the shoe but to make the space around it propel it forward. With that in mind, Nano did the single hand seal once more and caused it to glow golden. It slowly hovered towards Nano's hand until finally it was directly above it. Nano released his hold of the object, making it drop harmlessly into his hand. He had finished the mass shift jutsu.

After he had gotten the technique down, Nano had no clue what he should do next so he decided to lie down on his bed and get comfy, he would probably be here for a while. After about one hour of waiting he heard a loud knock on the door. Nano stepped up to the door and looked through the peep hole. Behind it he saw a boy with bright orange hair and pale skin holding a box. The said "The Lavender Peacock brings you a package."

Remembering the code word, Nano opened up the door and accepted the package. "Thank you for bringing this here, I hope it didnt bring you any trouble." He then walked back into the apartment and read through his mission assignment. He was meant to drop this off to an anonymous mailbox on the far side of town. This whole scheme of pass the parcel was all just to throw off any potential thieves.

Climbing out the fire escape ladder of his building, Nano dropped to the ground. As soon as he touched the ground he began sprinting in the direction of the drop off zone. The last thing he needed was to be tailed by some civilian thief. Nano could have used a jutsu to make him faster but seeing as most civilians see him as a devil for harnessing chakra, it would most likely draw unnecessary attention.

Once he could see the drop off box he made sure he wasn't being followed. Luckily the only other person in the area was a boy who looked about 5 years old and wouldn't think of him as suspicious at all. Acting casual, Nano walked up to the abnormally large mailbox and delicately place the package inside. He didn't know what was in the box but if it was fragile, he didn't want to be the one blamed for the failure of this mission.

With the package gone, Nano was free to do as he pleased and after making sure nobody had seen him put the package in the box, he used the body flicker technique to speed away to the top of a building, too fast for any civilian to see.  He then jumped from building to building until he reached the apartment once again. He came back in through the fire escape and lied down on his bed for a nap after this long day of waiting.

”You’re welcome. Have a good day, sir.” Shouhei said to the kid he recognized from the Academy. Not by a name basic, but at least enough that he knew not to say ‘say hi to your parents for me’. With that, he went back to the restaurant before people wondered where he went. And well, before someone attempted to mug him for wearing regal clothes in a normal quarter.
