Task: A nearby temple of the hidden cloud has been seeing some unwanted activity over the past few weeks. Reports of groundskeepers finding tombs and crypts raided for loot and what not have been found, disgracing the bodies of the ones whom once laid there. Your job is to go out there at night, find the robbers, and bring them in for questioning so that those belongings can be returned to their rightful place, this cannot continue.

Komon looked onwards through the street of the village hidden in the cloud’s, the atmosphere was rather cold which seemed strange because of how brightly the sun was shining, it was like the air had not yet adapted to the sun’s bright rays. Komon sighed, and upon doing so saw his breath in the cold winter air of kumogakure. “What a wonderful day for a mission” he said to himself quietly and sarcastically as he continued walking forward. Komon then slipped the helmet that had been resting on his belt loop at his side of its clip, and up over his head, letting it slide gently before his eyes aligned with the tinted glass.

Today he was going on a combat mission and had dressed appropriately, around his body the invictus suit was wrapped firmly, and on his backside rested his weapons pouches holding five steel kunai in one, and five steel shuriken in the other. And lastly on his back laid his sheath, effectively carrying his katana. This was his first combat mission and he had felt a little nervous going in, but when he had placed his gear onto his body he had felt a bit more confident in himself. He sighed again as he went over the details of the mission, there were supposedly reports of temple robbers and the hidden cloud had assigned him and two other gennin to detain and bring back the suspects.

As he continued walking the village gates began to appear over the horizon, Komon knew that the two gennin he was working with would already be there, he was running a bit late, but wanted to get a good idea of who he was working with, so he activated his byakugan from behind his black mask.

“Oh” He would mutter quietly as he instantly recognized the two chakra signatures

Komori was impatient as always. This had been the first REAL mission he had been assigned, his only previous one being to guard a shipment of booze that was being run through the village. The memory made him smile at the thought and forget about the wait. It had been the twin’s first time together outside of the academy, back before Komori even knew any water techniques besides the hydrification kekkei genkai that he had inherited from his dad. At that time, Komon had had such little chakra control yet that he was only able to taze a kid at most. Good times. Since that day, both boys had grown, although Komon had progressed at a noticeably faster rate. If only Komori did not get distracted easily so often. Like seriously it was bad. Usually involved girls. He and the red headed genin assigned to this task, Hitori Uzumaki, had been waiting at least 15 minutes for their other teammate and this new chuunin that had been assigned to lead their squad. Komori did not recall there being any active chuunin the Village, so he was eager to see who it was. If it had not been for the medical shinobi next to him, Komori would have caused a rainstorm to appear in the sky overhead, as relaxing in the rain helped time to go by sooner, but he was being a kind and considerate person. And it was killing him. He looked over to the Uzumaki to see if he was as bored as he was of waiting.

Hitori lay on his back, trying to absorb the sun’s warming rays. He looked up at the partly cloudy skies in admiration, making shapes out of the sparse clouds that populated the brilliant blue sky. The brisk air cooled his skin, much to his distaste, but it was again heated by the blinding warmth of the sun that burned so many miles away. The constant heating and cooling was much like a wave of the ocean against the sand, and the same rhythmic cooling and heating had overtaken Hitori. The rhythm kept him alert, however, as his body constantly adapted to the changing temperatures as he waited.

Hitori felt the crisp grass. When his hands discovered a pebble of adequate size, the genin tossed it into the air and caught it, thus starting a rhythmic process of catching and tossing the pebble into the air. Where could he be? Hitori yawned, stretching out his arms in an attempt to make the hard, icy ground as comfortable as possible. The sun was only a few hours until night, but it burned so brightly for the orange color that it had taken on.

The mission was of great interest to Hitori. In fact, it was his first time to really venture out and, maybe, fight other shinobi seriously. It was rather exciting, but the thought of potential violence did not exactly sit well with Hitori.

Hitori began to roll around the grass out of sheer boredom, circling Komori in a constant, unenthusiastic spin. “Look, Komori, I’m a planet,” he said, part of his sentence muffled by dirt.

Senshi stared at the three Genin dispassionately, he had been perched on top of a nearby building suppressing his chakra while he waited for them all to arrive. This was his first mission as a team leader and he had wanted to arrive early so as to test the Genin he was going with. He was surprised to discover he knew all three. He was also surprised and dismayed that none of them had taken the time to observe their surroundings well enough to see him. With a slight sigh, as the Uzumaki kid began rolling around he jumped landing next to Komon.

Since taking the Age pills after he had been promoted he had grown to a height of six foot seven inches, his muscles were massive compared to his twelve year old self and his wardrobe had changed as well. The largest change had to be the thick, grizzly black beard that now covered his face. Looking down at Komon slightly he spoke, "We've been given a C rank mission to clear out some temple robbers, near the Dragon ravine. I will take point, with my trap experience I'm uniquely suited to watching out for them. Komori, Hitori you two will be in the center ready to support the rear or the front as needed. Komon you'll take the rear, with your byakugan you're uniquely suited to covering that position best."

Senshi shifted slightly his massive sword clinking against his back. It didn't look nearly as large now that he was taller than it was. He reached up scratching at the beard absentmindedly before turning towards the gates. "Lets head out. You can ask your questions on the way." He started off walking at a sedate pace so that any of the Genin could ask their questions and he could answer. Once their questions had been asked and he had answered them appropriately he sped up running at a sped fast enough to push the weakest member, Hittori, but not enough to leave him behind.

Komon hardly recognized the man in front of him, but knew it was senshi, the voice, the weapons, everything matched. He didn’t have time to comment on the man’s sudden rank change or for that matter the change in appearance. The man seemed to be in a rush which was understandable considering Komon’s rather late arrival, and ran out of the village gates, he seemed to be doing so at a reduced speed which komon couldn’t help but wonder why, however the man quickly handed out the plan, and komon realized it involved hitori and komori standing between them.

In other words they had to move at a pace that both Komori and Hitori could keep up with, and since Hitori had very little training they where going to need to slow down there pace. Komon however was going to be the caboose, because he was a hyuuga he served that position best and intended to do it effectively, as the ninja made their way through the forest Komon felt now was an appropriate time to ask senshi his question.

“So I guess you made chuunin? Also what the hell happened to you, you look like you aged five years.”

Komori had started laughing uncontrollably when Hitori had treated him as the sun and rotated around his person on the ground before their chuunin proctor had showed up with the manliest manly beard of the utmost manliness that was thicker than Beafosu’s bear’s fur. “Well, that’s a really impressive beard there. Do I know you?” The chuunin had apparently not heard him, as he began to immediately assign roles for the mission and begin to head out. After a moment of recognizing the way that the now 6 foot 7 inches tall chuunin acted in an abrupt and borderline cold manner, Komori realized that it could be none other than his socially awkward friend slash comrade slash teacher Senshi.

“Congrats on the promotion!” Komori said before dropping slightly back a few inches to be in line with Komon, where he said in a lower voice, “That is Senshi, right?” in order to confirm with his twin brother whether or not that was indeed their friend and fellow shinobi Senshi Kobayashi. Komori then quickly sped up to get back in line with Hitori, as his speed was only slightly below that of Senshi and Komon, however, they would be carrying the Uzumaki for the majority of this mission, as he did not seem to have many offensive jutsu. Or at least any that he displayed. Nonetheless, it was always a good thing to have a medic nearby, in the unlikely event of one of their teammates getting injured. Or in the more likely scenario, the team kicked too much of the enemy’s behind and needed to make sure they did not die, as this was an apprehension mission and not an assassination mission. “So. You look different. By like. A lot.” He paused frequently throughout his sentence in order to add emphasis to parts where it felt needed. This was not necessarily a question, as it was more of an obvious statement. Still, it was very odd nonetheless that the twelve year old boy was now roughly five or six years older. Maybe even a decade with the beard. Komori had heard rumors of the Raikage’s medical prowess and wondered if this was some sort of rite of passage. He shook his head, and despite how cool Senshi looked with a beard, decided that he would not get one, at least for a very, very long time. Komori opened his mouth to ask a question but instead his brother Komon had asked what he had in mind for him, so he opted to remain quiet as Senshi would answer.

Hitori accelerated with his arms behind him. He was able to keep up, but his body was certainly being pushed. Running did not particularly interest him, nor did he find much time or desire to try. Hitori liked walking, observing the details in admiration as opposed to living in a blind dash. At least when something exciting wasn’t happening.

The Chuunin before him was unrecognizable until the mention from the twins, and still even then. Senshi had grown much older, though how, Hitori did not know or particularly want to know. If there was one thing he had learned, it was that life was not to be accelerated to any degree beyond that which was natural. In fact, it angered him that life would be thrown away so carelessly when it had been taken from him.

Hitori shifted his focus to the mission to avoid becoming furious. He suppressed his feelings on the matter, despite the difficulty, and began to think on what he was briefed earlier. Grave robbers, Hitori thought with malice. How could someone rob from the defenseless like this? Violate their tombs? What if they did that to my mother? Hitori did not like the train of thought this mission was leading him down. Still, the issue needed a solution, not a minor action to temporarily stave it off. No, this required something else. And not just the injustices of robbing from the dead.

Hitori bit his cheek and forced a smile, trying to become happy. After all, this was his first real mission, and a C rank nonetheless. How could he not be excited? Hitori looked to his comrades with a slight smile, and pressed on, feeling the crunch of grass beneath his shoes.

As they ran along Senshi kept his eyes peeled for any threats coming there way, he didn’t want his first ever mission as a team leader to turn out badly after all. His eyes moved around and as they moved he heard Komori’s statement and gave the boy an appreciative nod for his thanks. He kept silent at Komon’s question for several minutes before finally responding. “There’s a thing called Age pills, that allow you to physically mature faster than you would. Once I made Chuunin I decided to utilize them so that I could appear mature so that clients will feel more secure when I run missions.”

Senshi continued running, slowing his pace only slightly so that the Uzumaki boy would be able to keep up. He rose his hand and gave a halting signal. He made one last final jump, loosing another pulse of chakra before turning to look at the team. He remembered his first C rank and how Itami Taichou had left the majority of the fighting to them. It had been a test and had assisted the team in becoming more confident. He would emulate his commanders example and do the same with his own team. It would allow them to build up combat experience in a relatively safe setting.

“About thirty meters away there are three chakra signatures. This is pretty close to the graveyard, as such they could be our prey. The mission states that we are to capture them alive, so you three will take them out. I will provide back up for you.” Senshi turned his eyes to Komon and gave the boy a slight head nod, “Komon I want you to develop a plan of attack for Komori and Hitori to follow. I know you’re close to becoming a Chuunin and this will help you better prepare for that rank. When you’re ready carry out the plan.” Senshi crossed his arms taking a step back and ceding the floor to the senior Genin of the team. He wished he had been offered an opportunity like this when he had been a Genin, it would have greatly assisted him.

Thirty meters away two smallish men sat around a campfire listening to the lone woman of the group tell a story about some odd conquest of a sort. The clearing they were in was relatively small, about eight meters long by five meters wide. The two men were seated on opposite ends of the campfire one around the north east part of the campfire and the other in the south west part. The woman was standing, gesturing wildly at the northern part of the campfire about a meter away from it. All three had maces on their hips and basic armor on their bodies to protect them. They looked rather dirty and ragged as though they could have been digging in the dirt, or simply have been in the woods for awhile.

The man in the south west part of the camp would read as having the largest chakra signature (50). While the woman would feel to have only a slightly smaller chakra signature (45), and the final man with a significantly smaller chakra signature than the others, almost completely unable to feel his someone would have to be paying very close attention to notice him (30).

Komon was kind of surprised by senshi’s sudden request, The man was the chuunin he was supposed to lead them, but apparently he thought now would be an appropriate time to teach Komon a lesson. Komon knew time was of the essence and used his natural quick thinking to format a plan of action.

Komori’s byakugan quickly turned towards the direction senshi had pointed out, in it he could see two chakra signatures growing very brightly and what looked like it could be either a very weak shinobi or a squirrel, (Much like hitori) in the distance. “Ok” He would say before pausing. “I spot 2 shinobi, and one mystery, they don’t look extremely powerful and were still not sure they’re the enemy, I’d like to get a closer look at them and use the eye mind reading technique on one of them before we do anything rash, Komori, and Hitori, please find a resting place in tree branches near the clearings, and stay hidden they seem to have a light source, I’ll send a clone to each of you with instructions on what to do after”

He would say before taking a deep breath. “Lets go” soon followed his long sentence. And he would dash through the trees with his byakugan still active in an attempt to get within 20 meters of the largest chakra signature.
