A boy's Journey [Travel] Empty A boy's Journey [Travel]

Wed Feb 08, 2017 12:55 am
The air had been thick with rain. His cloak sleek with the tears of the sky as he traversed the borders with his fox companion. The two had met a single person during what seemed like his infinitesimal stay in the shinobi world, the single person not being that bad. He learned quite a bit and yet he was still hungry per se to know more. In this day he journeyed across the borders until a single structure had came into his eyesight. Kazuhiro noticed this based on its large stature, but what he had not known was that behind its massive girth laid a foundation of many other smaller buildings.

In his wake he moved in silence as he skittered across the wet road until he had arrived to the colossal tower, slate eyes staring it over until he removed his hood," What do you think this could have been Koan?," the boy asked the fox who was naught but a few steps away from him. The fox simply shrugged and returned its head underneath the hood it had been wearing. So simple was his curiosity that he began to step forward despite it being a potential danger zone, he wanted to know what it had held within its structure. Soon enough the young male had entered it, its warmth embracing his body as if it had been untouched by time and yet no one had dared to live in it. This young male continued to walk into it, shutting the out the ailments of nature so that the warmth would not leave him.

Removing his cloak he would slowly place the small bundle of fire wood into a circle, lighting it and sitting in front of the fire to warm up," We have found shelter for the night. Why is it we must wait for this woman in these lands instead of going to her? Surely mother Inari would have-," the young fox simply looked at the male before sighing. There was so much the boy couldn't be told for his own good. What would his father have done in this situation? The thought of his old master passing through his mind caused the young fox to curl up into a ball. They all had their ways of coping with the loss of their sage, their mother took in his heir in an attempt to correct the past and prevent the son from becoming the father. His brothers? Riled with rage they wanted nothing more than to avenge their family, but their mother had forbid it. Their obligation was to the heir not the past. Koan? He had Kazuhiro, but that didn't stop the thoughts..

The young male poked the fox for a moment before picking him up and hugging him," I hate it when you are like this...There is something you all are keeping from me, but why?," the fox simply shook his head. He didn't want to be the one that would reveal the boy's deceased father's story to him and how he ended up with the foxes, the promises that were made and above all else? Why he had to grow up not knowing this until the time was right. The rain continued to pour down on the outer structure for what seemed like hours before letting up and the dreary sky was all that remained. The two during that time slept in comfort though the small child only murmured in his sleep. He kept remembering the whispering among the foxes of how he resembled a certain male, his eyes and feral like demeanor stood out, though he was more proper thanks to Lady Inari's "Strict" teachings. He had slowly stirred from his sleep as a single drop of rain entered through a small crack and dropped onto his face.

Moments later the two were back out on the road toward their destination, the small fox being the only one to know where they had been going. The wait was longer than he anticipated but if they were to quickly get Kazuhiro into his new foster home, they would need to move with haste. The borders began to slowly merge into new territory, going from forests and rocks to a simple tundra. Sand clenched between his toes as he stopped and looked down at it puzzled and yet curious about it enough to stop for a moment and pick it up in his hands. As it fell back and settled into the ground he thought about how the sand had been made, his wandering mind would have to wait as he played catch up to the fox. Within moments they found themselves closer and closer to their destination as the village unknown to the child was slowly coming into place. Picking up his speed he walked silently beside the fox as the two soon traveled to their new home.
