Training the inside to outside block
Sat Feb 11, 2017 5:37 pm
As Hikaru walked away from the academy he realised his taijutsu was extremely lacking. He had got some ninjutsu down but he knew next to nothing about taijutsu. He began to run towards the library, maybe it had some basic taijutsu moves he could learn.
As he entered the library he looked around for any taijutsu books. He saw the section and he quickly headed towards it. In the section he saw a book labelled "The basics in blocking" He quickly picked it up and began to read. He only skim read because he knew, due to his excellent memory recall, he could get remember it later on. After he finished reading he rushed out the library, getting a few disgruntled looks from the villagers as he whizzed past them.
When he reached his training grounds he began meditating. He recalled that that the technique required a high kick or a level punch. He also remembered the technique used a closed fist or open palm technique. The closed fist was all about power whereas the open palm was all about speed. He got up and began practicing the motions. He swept away an imaginary fist and and proceeded the close his fist and punch his fictional enemy. He noted, it felt sloppy and unpolished.
Through the next days in academy taijutsu spars he practiced the block against his classmates. He had began to do it so much he did it on instinct, he didn't need to think to execute the block and punch. He got up onto the raised platform and took a look at his opponent, he got into stance and sneered at his classmate. His classmate charged at him and through a punch towards his chest. Hikaru smirked and proceeded to sweep his opponents fist out the way, close his fist, and punch his opponent right into the chest. His classmate went soaring through the air and landed outside the platform "Winner, Hikaru Komatsu!" his sensei said.
After the academy Hikaru went back to his training grounds and began to practice the other version to the block, the open palm. The open palm version focused on redirecting the attack and slowing down the enemy or increasing ones speed. He stood up and got into his stance he grabbed an imaginary opponents hand and shoved his open palm into his stomach. Hikaru felt like learning this was going to be easier, speed was his specialty after all. He practiced the form until he dropped, he certainly liked using this version to the closed fist version.
The next day in the academy he got up onto the platform once again and faced his opponent. His opponent, being the fool that he is, charged head first at Hikaru. Hikaru dodged and jumped to the side of his attacker. This time his attacker though about it and ran at Hikaru. He went for a quick jab at Hikaru's throat, He grabbed the fools arm and sent his open palm blurring into his stomach. Hikaru jumped off, he had learnt both versions of the block.
