Getting the Celestial snake contract

Hikaru was walking through Kirigakure when he realised something. He was weak. He was clanless and had no advantages that he could use against someone with a clan. All he could do was train the basics. Hikaru was no fool, he knew basics were important, but only learning basics? That could lead to some severe problems down the line. What if he met someone in a clan who trained just as hard as him? He would be completely out of his league.

Eventually, he remembered a lesson from his academy days. His teacher was talking about summoning jutsu, from what he could remember if you learnt the jutsu then it would summon a creature that would be best suited for you. The teacher hadn't specified how to perform the jutsu, so Hikaru was still stuck. He then decided to look through the library, hopefully it would have something to do on Summoning Jutsu. He turned around and began to head in the direction of the library.

When he arrived in the library he immediately walked to the Space-Time section, if the summoning jutsu was going to be anywhere, it was going to be in the space-time section. He skimmed through all the scrolls until he found one about summoning jutsu. He began to read it but was disapointed when it didn't have anything to do on HOW to do the jutsu. He continued to look through until he found something. A book labeled "Catalog of all Space-Time jutsu" It was a long shot but Hikaru hoped that it would have something to do on summoning jutsu.

He carefully extracted the book from the shelves and placed it down on the table. Hikaru cracked his knuckles and began reading. Hikaru was skimming through the pages at lightning-fast speed when something caught his eye, but he was already several pages ahead by the time it registered. He stopped skimming and began shifting back the pages. Eventually he saw it, "Summoning Jutsu". He ignored all the writing and went straight to the hand seals. He read that you had to do the seals then use your blood as a anchor for the summon to appear.

He memorised the seals and began to run to find Tenzo. After a while of running around the village he eventually came across Tenzo, staring at the Mizukage monument, looking lost in thought. He ran up to Tenzo and tapped him on the back. "I've got something to show you." Hikaru whispered to Tenzo.

Tenzo sat still in infront of the monument thinking about the future.Currently he was a genin but he wanted to be more,more than just a regular genin.He wanted to become renown and known through out the lands.But in order to do that he needed strength,currently he was far from being considered strong his stats were average and he didn’t have that many jutsu in his belt.He needed to become stronger far stronger than he currently was.His hand went to the green necklace around his neck pondering about strength.

The wind blowed his hair lightly as if wishing to give him an idea.Tenzo began to ponder on what to do.He was thinking about what he could possibly do in order to get renown.

Meh whatever,I'mgoing train a bit to clear my head up.

After that he began to run around the monument area,running till his muscle screamed at him to stop but he wouldn’t.He could feel,his blood pumping,his muscles like engines continously working.After a while he stopped and started to shadow fight.He closed his eyes,when he opened them he was back at the time him and hikaru where fighting.He sent a kick with his left feet making sure all his weight was in it.It was blocked but he used that to send out his right wich was swiftly dodged.Then the battle continued like that.A dodge here a kick there.Both of them fighting with every trick in the book.Exchanging blows quickly,intercept,attack,dodge to the left,kick,to the stomach endure body slam.On the outside it looked like he was fighting thin air as nobody was there with him.

It would look like a madman was fighting crazily,but Tenzo cared little.A punch to the nose,grab his leg pull while kicking at him.Move faster.After a while he stopped and reopened his eyes,his muscles were sore and he felt fatigued.He looked at the sun which was high up in the sky.He would quickly heal himself with the basic healing jutsu beore going to the monument and closing his eyes in order to get some sleep.After a few hours he would hear the sound of somebody running towards him.He would open his eyes and with a confused and lost expression he would feel somebody tapping his back.He would turn around to see that it was hikaru.He was happy to see hik here but he wondered how he had found him.Not many people come to the monument even though it was so awe inspiring.Tenzo would look at the setting sun which cast a bloody glow upon the misty village making it look extremely terrifying yet beautiful.
He would then hear Hik say “I’ve got something to show you”He would turn to Hik with a confused expression on his face wondering what hikaru could possibly want to show him.What is it hik he would ask back,waiting in anticipation for his response.



Unknown to the two genin a man was standing in a tree not far away observing them.Said man would turn and look at the top of the monument were another man was sitting.If one were not a jounin they would not notice this two figures.The man who sat at the top of the monument looked like and old and beefed up Tenzo while the man in the tree was dark skinned with long dreadlocks.Who had purple eyes and a pitch black bow on his back.The dark skinned man would smile a bit before retreating back to god knows where while saying “Be happy child you still have protection or you would be dead.But you won’t have protection forever.”He would run silently and unnoticed through the woods before dissapearing in to the setting sun.The man on monument looked down on the two genin a grim expression on his face as he looked down upon them.You don't have time Tenzo hurry up!He would then seem to melt away into the air,leaving no traces behind.

"What is it hik?" Tenzo asked in response to Hikaru's abrupt statement.

"It's a new jutsu i think we could both learn" Hikaru claimed. He then gestured for Tenzo to follow him before taking off into the opposite direction. Not even bothering to check if Tenzo was actually following him, Hikaru started running to his "Training Grounds".

Eventually he made it there, he checked behind him and Tenzo was not there. Hikaru frowned, where was Tenzo? He then realised he was probably moving too fast for Tenzo to keep up. He sat down on the floor and started waiting for Tenzo to catch up.

It’s a new jutsu we can both learn,When Tenzo heard these words his head snapped to attention.A curios expression on his face as he thought about what Hikaru said.He watched as Hikaru motioned fro him to follow before running away.Tenzo grinned widely when he saw that Hikaru had become much faster than before.It’s like you get stronger after a fight.He began to run at half his regular speed as he pondered about the jutsu Hikaru was going to show him.Hmm a new jutsu huh,I was thinking about getting stronger.He grinned as an idea passed through his mind.My first goal in life is to surpass you Hikaru, yes that a good goal.After a while of running where he was following Hikaru’s footprints.He reached the training field they had been in previously.Isolated and hidden a good place to learn a new jutsu.He saw Hikaru under the tree he had used to rest when he was training.He walked towards Hikaru before saying”You’ve gotten a lot stronger Hikaru I’m not sure i can even keep up with you.Meh whatever,so what jutsu are we learning together.While he said this he started to do a few stretches to warm up.

Hikaru was pleased when Tenzo had finally found him, he hadn't been waiting that long but he wasn't sure if Tenzo would be able to find him. He listened to Tenzo and almost smirked when Tenzo told him that Hikaru was growing stronger.

"Its a jutsu called a summoning jutsu" Hikaru Began "It requires a contract but i have a theory that if we try it without a summoning contract it will bring whatever summon we want." After he said this he got up and started warming up with Tenzo.

"I feel like this would definitely help us become stronger, our summons could probably teach us some of their jutsu." Hikaru continued "I know the hand seals and how to perform the jutsu, do you want to learn?" Hikaru looked at Tenzo for an answer, he didn't really care if Tenzo decided not to do it, Hikaru could still grow stronger on his own.

Tenzo smiled as he saw the small flicker of a smile that appeared on Hikaru’s face when he said he was getting stronger.He shrugged it off before starting to do a few pushups.He listened carefully as Hikaru said “It’s called summoning Jutsu.It requires a contract but I have a theory that if we try it without a summoning contract it will bring whatever we want.”Tenzo frowned a little as he thought of what Hikaru was saying.This sounded way to easy just take the jutsu learn it and bam you get a contract.There’s probably more to this.He started to do some pull ups as he watched Hikaru get up and start working out with him.I feel like this could probably help us get stronger,Our summons could teach us some jutsu’s.Tenzo nodded as he said that before starting to do a few streches.
That’s true.
I know the hand seals and how to do the Jutsu,do you want to learn.Tenzos ears perked when he heard this.He grinned as he stopped his warm and said “is that an actual question.Thought you were smarter than that.”Tenzo would then stagger a bit as Danzo took over.Tenzo aura lost it’s innocence and a bloodthirsty aura came out.We will be learning the jutsu along with you,I get the feeling that we will most likely have the same contract.He streched his neck a bit as a crazy grin came across his face.A grin that wasn’t supposed to be on Tenzo’s face.Let’s get started.

Hikaru watched Tenzo frown at his theory. He didn't care, all he wanted was to get stronger. Hikaru proceeded to bring out his Kunai and started fiddling with it while explaining the summoning jutsu.

"First, you need to understand the basics of the summons." Hikaru started "People are usually given a race that fits your fighting style and personality, no one really knows why this happens but there is many theories." Hikaru continued to explain to Tenzo about Space-Time jutsu and how it is applied in Summoning jutsu.

Eventually, he felt like he had given Tenzo enough knowledge to understand the fundamentals of summoning and space-time jutsu.

"Well," Hikaru started, putting his kunai away "Now the theory is out of the way, lets get onto the exciting stuff!"

"The hand seals are Boar, Dog, Bird, Monkey and Ram, in that order." He explained "After you do the seals you must use blood as an anchor and thrust your hands onto the floor. You can get the blood through any means biting your thumb, cutting your fingers with a kunai or wounds from the current battle your in."

"You ready to do this?" Hikaru asked. After Tenzo's response Hikaru announced that they was going to do the jutsu at the same time.

On the count of three Hikaru would do the Hand seals Boar-Dog-Bird-Money-Ram at the same time as Tenzo and bite his thumb and thrust his palms onto the grass.

Tenzo listened as Hikaru began to explain the jutsu “People are usually given a race that fits their fighting style and  personality ,nobody knows why that happens but there are many theories.The jutsu uses your personality and fighting style as a sort of check list that it sends through time and space before it finally finds the right race for you and pulls you through time and space to the home ground of your Most compatible summon.Tenzo frowned slightly at the most compatible.Just because something was more compatible did’t neccasarily mean that it was a good thing.He than began to wonder if the jutsu was applying his personality or the original Tenzo’s personality.He clicked his tongue as he thought of this.Eventually Hikaru seemed to deem it time for them to start the jutsu.He nodded when Hikaru was done talking a sign that he had understood everything.He had already known the basics of space time and had come to a conclusion on how it was applied in the summoning.Though it helped to see it from anothers perspective.He watched as Hikaru pulled out a kunai while saying “Well,Now the theory is out of the way let’s get to the exciting stuff. You can get the blood through any means biting your thumb, cutting your fingers with a kunai or wounds from the current battle your in."Tenzo nodded as Hikaru explained the means of using the jutsu,his fingers were already going through the jutsu as Hikaru was speaking.He continued to do the jutsu a few more time before turning to Hik and saying he was ready to begin.He started the jutsu begore hik did and Hikaru quickly caught up since he was faster.At the same time they both bit their finger before slamming in into the ground.He watched as seals quickly appered at the point of contact.They rapidly spread out,he watched as his and Hikaru’s seals seemed to intertwine before he felt a huge pressure on his soldiers.He felt as his body had been streched and shoved through a tube at extreme speeds.All he could see was a flash of blue and purple until his feet slammed back onto solid ground again.

Hikaru's eyes widened in surprise when his and Tenzo's seals seemed connect and entangle. Suddenly it felt like he was being ripped apart and stretched. He tried to shout to Tenzo but he had no mouth. He felt like he had been torn into millions of shreds. He began to feel hopeless and weak, floating in this void of nothingness. Somehow he could feel himself moving, he did not know how he could feel this but, against all odds, he felt it anyway. As he moved he began to pick up speed, bright colours flashing past him as he picked up speed. And then. It all stopped.

He blinked and looked around, he saw Tenzo unconscious next to him. He went to shake him but stopped when he saw where he was. His training grounds were completely gone, replaced by a courtyard of an oriental looking Shinto temple. He continued to observe his new surroundings. The main colour scheme seemed to be red with a dash of grey and black mixed in. Around him were several pillars holding up the roof but upon closer inspection he realised that they were wooden carvings of snakes. The courtyard had overgrown grass and several ponds scattered around the ground. All around the courtyard were scrolls with writing on them detailing "Rules of the celestial snakes".

"Are our summons celestial snakes?" Hikaru mused to himself, previous fear and dizziness melting off him. He stood up, leaving Tenzo unconscious on the floor, and walked over to one of the scrolls. He began reading.

- Never fight other celestial snakes unless you are training or it is a last resort
- All celestial snakes are family and must be treated as such
- All celestial snakes must treat inferior celestial snakes with as much respect as the superiors
- All Celestial snakes must meditate once a day
- If any of the rules are broken, offenders will face judgement from the leader

Hikaru nodded as he read these rules. He agreed with most of them, apart from the "Inferior celestial snakes must be treated with the same level of respect as the superiors.". Why should he treat weaklings with respect? It's their fault they don't train enough. It seems that celestial snakes are very spiritual Hikaru thought. Hikaru was too lost in thought so he failed to hear a snake slithering up behind him.


"What have we here?" Hissed a voice behind him. Hikaru quickly took out his Kunai and eyed the snake behind him. The snake was about 7 foot long and had piercing yellow eyes, it's veins were visible through the snakes skin and they seemed very bulky and compact. It reminded him of earth. "I am your new summoner." Hikaru proclaimed 

"Your not our summoner until the great sage decides you are!" Another voice hissed. He turned to look where the new voice had originated from. The other snake was similar to the other one but it was smaller and its veins were jagged and they reminded him of lightning . Hikaru was beginning to feel a little panicked now. He was surrounded by beings that he knew next to nothing about. I thought they were spiritual, their rules state that all snakes are family and should be treated as such? he thought. Then he realised I'm not part of their family yet. Right now, im just an outsider. "How do me and my friend over there," he gestured a steady hand towards the knocked-out Tenzo "become your summoners?" Hikaru asked

"We will take you to our sage and he shall test your worth." one of the snakes drawled. Hikaru nodded and went to wake up Tenzo. He crouched and started to shake Tenzo awake. Once he was awake Hikaru said "They don't trust us yet, they're taking us to their leader, follow them." and he pointed towards the two snakes that were slowly slithering away.

As he said this Hikaru turned and began to run up to the snakes, not wanting to be left behind. The snakes took the boys through a series of winding corridors past many of the other snakes. Even though he was not part of it, he could feel the companionship and warmth emitting from the snakes towards each other. They walked past many snakes and Hikaru noted that some of them were bigger than him. If the size of common snakes are bigger than me, how big is the sage? 

Eventually, the two snakes stopped at a grand looking set of doors and looked at the boys "The great sage is beyond these doors, treat him with respect." Hikaru nodded and followed the snakes through the doorway. When they entered the doorway Hikaru gasped in awe. The room was probably bigger than Kirigakure and it was just a huge grey cube. Hikaru scanned the room and saw a snake the size of the house slithering towards them. His mouth gaped even further at the colossal scale of the snake.

The two snakes hissed at the boys "Bow, he is the great sage!" Hikaru quickly got down onto his knees and began bowing. The huge snake stopped in front of them and looked down.

"Terraies, Micrusus why have you brought humans into this sacred temple?" The great snake asked. The two snakes answered at the same time "They have come here requesting our summoning contract, great sage."

"Summoners, aye?" The snake chortled "We haven't had a contract in hundreds of years, do you believe your selves worthy of our contract little ones? Hikaru spoke out before Tenzo "We are not sure, but we wish to prove to you that we will abide by the rules and will be worthy of your contract" The snake hmmed in response.

"Very well, let the tests commence!" The sage declared "First you must meditate for twenty four hours without a break, doing this will show us your patience and willingness to prove to use that you can meditate." Hikaru nodded, he knew he could do this easily because in order to learn about Space-Time jutsu he had to meditate for an extremely long time.

The sage began speaking again "You must sit down in front of me and meditate for twenty four hours." He waited for the boys to get in a meditative position. "Start... Now." Hikaru closed his eyes and immediately allowed his thoughts to wonder. He was going to be okay, but what about Tenzo, had he done anything like this before?

Hikaru entered a trance like state and he could no longer feel his body, he was just a mind floating in the void. He felt at peace and was relaxed. Twenty four hours passed like a breeze and before Hikaru knew it, it was over. 

"Very good little ones." The sage chuckled "Now it is time for stage two, were you prove your worth in a fighting match." He looked at Tenzo "You, white haired boy you will fight Terraies." The slightly larger snake, Terraies, slithered up to Tenzo and hissed "Lets begin."

Hikaru watched Tenzo rise and slide into stance at the snakes words.

"Lets do this." At these words Tenzo immediately ran at the snake, kunai in hand. He jabbed at the snake but the kunai narrowly missed. The snake's eyes narrowed into slits as he slithered at a rather remarkable speed towards Tenzo. The snake pounced at Tenzo, his mouth agape. Tenzo expertly dodged the pounce and sliced his arm towards the snake, intending to slice open its belly. But once again the snake contorted his body in the air and bent towards Tenzo intending to wrap around his arm.

The snake wrapped its body round Tenzo's arm and began squeezing, cutting off his blood flow and causing Tenzo to drop his kunai. Tenzo yelped in pain as he desperately tried to grapple off the snake, but to no avail. The snake opened its mouth and prepared to bite Tenzo. Using his quick reaction Tenzo quickly crouched down and picked up his kunai, shoving it into the snakes mouth length ways.

This was quickly followed by a scream of pain from the snake as the inside of his mouth began to bleed. He fell off Tenzo's arm and began to write on the floor. Tenzo smirked, picked up his kunai, and put it against the snakes throat. An evil glint flickered in the snakes eye as his mouth opened and quickly shut around Tenzo's wrist. Immediately the veins on his arms turned a nasty shade of purple and Tenzo started shrieking in pain.

Hikaru started to get up to help his friend but he was quickly stopped by the sage.

"Don't interrupt the fight little one." said the great sage sadly. Hikaru turned and saw Tenzo contorting and writhing in pain on the ground. Hikaru ignored the sage's wished and ran to Tenzo. As he ran past Tenzo he grabbed the snake by the neck and began throttling him. The snake struggled in his hands but it was all in vain. As the snake started to grow limp Hikaru felt a huge force press behind him and he was flung into a wall at incredible speeds.

Hikaru shook his head and attempted to stand up but found that he couldn't. Hopeless he to do anything he watched Tenzo stop writhing and slump onto the ground into a lifeless lump.

"Enough!" Shouted the sage. "Human, stand up." Hikaru stood up and looked at sage with a lifeless look in his eyes, he didn't know how to react to the death of his friend, he never was good at conveying his emotions. "I could kill you right now little one, you attacked on off my clan members and attempted to kill him, However the fact that you showed this much compassion towards the death of your friend shows to us that once you make bonds you stick by them" Hikaru didn't even flinch when the sage threatened to kill him, he did show a questioning glance when the sage told him he had compassion. Compassion and Hikaru did not belong in the same sentence.

"Because of this compassion you will be awarded our summon contract, after all, one of the rules state that all clan members must treat each other like family and respect each other. If you show the level of kinship as the same you showed because of your friends death then i believe you will be our perfect summoner." Hikaru nodded, while he didn't know how to show his emotions he could train in Tenzo's memory and grow stronger because of it. More than ever he believed that hard situations and events were the key to becoming a strong ninja.

"Do you Hikaru Komatsu accept the celestial snake summon contract?" The great sage asked Hikaru nodded and a puff of smoke appeared next to him to reveal a large scroll on the floor. "Sign it with your blood and you will be part of our clan and must abide by our rules." Hikaru opened the scroll and nicked his fingers with a small cut from his kunai and imprinted his hand print onto the empty paper. Once he had done this the scroll disappeared in a puff of smoke.

"Welcome to our clan, Hikaru Komatsu," The great sage said "Now step closer and i will transport you back to your world," Hikaru nodded and stepped closer to the sage. Hikaru closed his eyes and in a flash he was back at the original training grounds in kirigakure.

He slumped to the ground in mental exhaustion and reflected upon the events that had transpired. He felt empty without Tenzo, he was the first person that Hikaru had ever befriended and he had died in the blink of an eye. If anyone else had died Hikaru wouldn't have even batted an eye, but losing his only friend had changed him. He felt the need to push people even further away than he usually would.

"Well," He sighed "At least one good thing came out of this mess, at least i got a summoning contract." He raised his hand above him and looked at it absently before closing it into his fist. "I will get stronger." He muttered
