Money Grubbing Fools Continued Again

As Komon lead the dilegent trio through the forest he couldn’t help but feel tired. He couldn’t really be blamed for that thought, as five missions in one day was enough to tire out anyone. As they made their way through the forest Komon made sure to keep his byakugan active so that he could be constantly aware of any threat. The run wouldn’t take long before the three could see a large wooden fort like structure that Komon could only assume was the outpost they were meant to guard.

As they got closer to the structure Komon could clearly make out the hidden cloud vest on the guards vests and introduced himself and the two shinobi behind him as their replacements and that they were here to take the remainder of the shift. The guards on duty looked happy to say the least, and Komon understood why, shifts like these lasted hours and getting off meant that they could go home and get some well earned sleep.

The young Hyuuga chuunin would wave to the three un named shinobi as they walked past before taking a seat in a large wooden tower about 2 stories high overlooking the road while directing his brother and senshi to the small huts on either side of the road. These were the three guard stations that Kumogakure shinobi were responsible for monitoring. Should a civilian come by they were to ask for the proper papers before allowing them to pass through the road.

Komon sighed as he secretly hoped to himself that this shift would go by fast.

Senshi held his position in the formation as rigidly as he did everything in his life. Komori might think that Senshi had put Komon in charge, but that was not the case. He was actually retaining command. He had simply given the scroll to Komon so that he could familiarize himself with the mission again, since they had been at missions all day. Komon was a Chuunin as well, and thus if something were to happen command would fall to him. Meaning that he needed to be fully away of what the mission entailed, and what he needed to do to complete it successfully. Komon had also been put on point, not because he was a Chuunin or because he was in charge, but because it made the most logical sense.
 
With his byakugan he could focus more on the front of the formation and where they were going. Ensure that their path was clear of any traps. Not to mention with his intention to focus on weaponry and his ninjutsu abilities he was uniquely suited to get himself out of any potential ambush easily. Komori would be a good back up to Komon with his Ninjutsu skills, but also it placed Senshi so that he could respond to either Komon or Komori easily. By placing himself on the flank Senshi could easily move in and use either his fuuinjutsu or his weaponry skills to support either of the twins.
 
Whereease, if he had been in the point position he would have had to turn around and find a way to get into support range of both of them. Senshi could fight on the front lines just fine, but his main position was in a support position ensuring that anyone on his team who needed the assistance received it immediately. Komori would do well to remember that he was supposed to be analyzing why the decisions were being made the way they were, rather than just jumping to a conclusion because it was the first one that occurred to him. It was probably a good thing that Senshi couldn’t read minds the way Komon did, because then he would have been forced to verbally berate the boy.
 
Once they arrived at the outpost, Senshi felt a twinge of memory in his mind from the last time he had been here. He was very familiar with the area not only because he had already ran a mission here, but because this was where he had gained his summons. Senshi looked around the outpost as he allowed Komon to deal with relieving the previous guard shift. Once they began to spread out Senshi noticed that, Komori was in a rather precarious position. With the way they were separated it would be hard for Komon or Senshi to come to his aid quickly. Forming some quick hand seals, Senshi summoned his A rank flamingo Ganjo. Looking at the brightly colored bird he offered a serious nod of greeting.
 
“Ganjo, would you please stand with Komori. I apologize for calling on you for something as simple as guard duty, but I do required your assistance considering what happened here last time.” The brightly colored flamingo, eyed his Flock leader for several seconds before offering a sweeping bow, throwing one of its wings out grandiously. “It is not problem, Senshi-taicho. Kyoki informed all of us what happened during your last mission here, it is a pleasure to help.” Senshi nodded watching as Ganjo trotted up to the Hozuki Genin, to stand beside him like some frighteningly large Crayola marker. Senshi moved to his own location his senses pinging on a chakra signature approaching.
 

Ganjo would turn to Komori as he trotted up next to him, giving a wide sweep of his wings and a little hop and then a skip as she introduced herself to the Genin. “Fare thee well Genin Komori, I am Ganjo of the Black Forest a Flamingo summon for Lord Senshi. I shall assist you in your tasks.” As Ganjo was introducing himself a fast moving person was approaching Komori’s position, the Hozuki boy would be able to see the man soon enough. He was of average height and build wearing no forehead protector, but clearly he was running from something. He looked dirty, sweaty, and all around like common bandit.

A normal chuunin might be slightly startled by the look of a man making an animal appear out of thin air like some kind of magician. However, as a former summoner of the Rhino’s of Raiton Valley, Komon recognized it as the summoning jutsu. Apparently, senshi was a summoner as well, and had assigned his flamingo to assist Komori should he need it. Komon smiled as he realized that senshi might be taking a liking to his brother, it would be much easier to function if all three of them got along.

He watched as the bright pink bird bowed, and watched as his brother bowed back. The sight was comical to say the least. As he took note of this he saw a man running towards the outpost making eye contact with senshi as he did so. He would then suggest that senshi let his brother deal with this to better prepare him for his next chuunin exam. As it stood Komon should not be the one getting tested after all. Youka had deemed him a chuunin for a reason, his brother still had to earn that right, and experience would help to guide him.

Senshi blinked as Komori and Ganjo seemed to hit it off quite well. He rather wanted to make some sort of comment to his flamingo summon that she ought to be treating this more seriously considering what had occurred the last time he had this mission, but choose to keep his mouth shut instead. Ganjo wasn’t likely to listen to him when it came to that anyways. She was rather obstinate, and did what she wanted to do most of the time. Not something that Senshi was going to mess with, when he didn’t have a reason to. Plus it wasn’t like Komori or Ganjo were neglecting their duty, they were just being weird.
 
As Komori bowed back to Ganjo she would preen her feathers up in pride that someone else would understand decent customs and courtesies. Her summoner might be polite, but he just didn’t seem to get it sometimes. Ganjo would give another skip and hop of pleasure as the boy spoke back before speaking, in her usual grandiose way. “Genin Komori I shall endeavor to help thee on thine task. Lord Senshi has informed me that it is a matter of grave importance, a quest for the grail of sorts. We shall succeed in our quest together together, and smite down thine foes with the wrath of the gods themselves!”
 
As Ganjo spoke she would wave her wings, the pink feathers billowing in the wind in what she imagined was a majestic pose. Her wings would sweep out to emphasize words and attempt to make herself look larger than she was. As she spoke her voice would rise in volume, her utter excitement at doing some kind of quest clear. “Oh look! Thine enemies have appeared Genin Komori! We must smite them!” She would gesture towards the approaching man with her wings just as Komori would notice him and Komon would mention to Senshi to let the flamingo and her genin partner deal with them. The overly serious Chuunins eyebrow would be twitching in annoyance at Ganjo’s behavious as he nodded to Komon.
 

While Komori and Ganjo were focused on the approaching man Senshi would activate the Barrier: Canopy method in order to better sense the area around him. It was a fuuinjutsu he had been studying for a while that could help boost his chakra sensory as it was capable of picking people up who were even suppressing their chakra. Granted its range was significantly less, and it was a technique that only lasted for a short amount of time, but regardless it would be useful in the long run. The approaching man would eye Komori and Ganjo with a malicious intent in his eyes, reaching back and pulling two daggers from underneath his shirt he would rush forwards to try and stab Komori in the chest.

Komon could tell his brother was enjoying the company of Senshi’s summon but he hoped it wouldn’t distract him from the imminent threat that was quickly approaching. He watched with anticipation as Komori began to send bubbles towards the robber. “This should be interesting he thought” While also pulling out a kunai and activating lightning javelin. If his brother failed to stop the charging man on his own, Komon would sent a kunai through the man’s forehead. No harm would come to his brother on his watch. But he would allow Komori the chance to stop him himself beforehand.
