Warm Meal on a Cold Day - Komon and/or Komori
Sat Feb 25, 2017 10:22 pm
The days cooped up in his shack had all started to blur together. It had been some time now that he was holed away, unable to do much until his wounds had healed, the worst of it being his wounded pride. That shinobi had mopped the floor with his team, and did so while making it look easy. Shinobi of that strength, people on the same playing field as the Raikage. They were something else entirely. He would need to grow much stronger before he could ever be on such a level.
Max knew that he needed to train, but his body still ached where his limbs had previously been. So, instead of pushing himself while injured and chancing the fact that it could likely make things worse, Max would leave his puppets home (besides Napa of course) while he strolled about the town looking for something to do. Word of what had happened might have travelled to the townsfolk by now, but then again they would only have to look at the boy to see what had happened. He now walked with a slight limp, at least until he got more used to the new limbs. His old dirty green jacket had been destroyed in the fight, and now he had on only a plain white shirt that he had found in a house belonging to a now deceased prisoner. It was a bit loose and too big for him, but much like his new parts, he would just learn to grow into it. On the plus side, unlike his old jacket, this shirt hadn’t been stained with blood and the stench of death and decay. It was surprisingly clean. Napa of course was just as rotten as usual, but with his wrappings the puppets stench was surprisingly held in check.
Walking around the village with his pal on his back, Max would look around for something to do. Maybe he would run into one of his teammates, or one of the other village shinobi. They could go and grab a bite to eat, as Max had been living off of rather poor meals these last few weeks. Checking his pockets to make sure that he had his Ryo, he would look around in search of a warm meal and good company.

Komon stood in the center of the streets of the hidden cloud. He was currently waiting on his more attractive twin brother Komori Hozuki to meet up with him. The two hadn’t hung out in a while, with the exception of a few missions with senshi lately. So the twins had decided to spend their day off at a local fish restaurant. Kumogakure was located near the ocean and was famous for its superb seafood.
He sighed as he began to realize his brother was going to be late, five minutes had passed but there seemed to be no sign of him. However as Komon’s eyes began to look for his brother they spotted something else. The puppet user he had met while training with senshi a while back… Senshi’s teammate. Komon believed his name to be max if he remembered correctly and decided that that must be it.
Max didn’t look the same as he did back then though. One of his arms and one of his legs now looked to be made out of the same material of his puppets, and he had a slight limp to him. He looked exhausted. “What the hell happened to him” Komon thought to himself as he walked up and said hi to the boy.

Komori was running late, as usual. You see, he was a rather focused shinobi, but since he was still just a teenager, he was also prone to being distracted by gorgeous women. God bless his soul if he ever encountered one in battle. After getting her address, since there were no phones yet, and Komori did not want to have his entire body covered in telepathy seals with various girls, addresses would have to do. He held the ram seal up before remembering how he should not use jutsu as recklessly as he had as a gennin. He was still one, however, but he was the closest to chuunin that he had ever been, and could taste the promotion. Therefore, he decided to restrain himself and act like a chuunin by simply keeping a normal pace. He already was much faster than the average person at his base running speed, so it would not have made THAT much of a difference. Komori turned a corner and saw the seafood restaurant, but then saw Komon seem to walk away from it. In fact, Komon approached Max, the puppet user that Komori had just recently seen in the hospital, and then whatever else they did after that. He seemed to have gotten new prosthetics and walked with a limp for the time being. Komori hurried over so that he would not have to miss any conversation and greeted both his twin brother and the young boy.

"Hello, Komon" Max would reply to the twin known as Komon, a hand extended in greetings with his left arm... his good arm. He could tell it had been Komon because of those rather strange white eyes of his, the Byakugan. Despite the fact that it would likely prove at times hard to determine what it was the Hyuuga was looking at, Max instinctively knew that he noticed the parts of him that had been... replaced.
"This is what happens when you get in over your head during a mission." He would say, answering the boys question without being asked, using only the look he was given as clue to what the Hyuuga had been thinking. Right as he was saying this Komori would run over and greet Max as well. "Good seeing you folks again. Komori, did you manage to follow up with that nurse you were so enamored with?" Max was young and didn't know the details, but he knew that Komori was up to something.
"I was just looking to enjoy a nice meal. Would you two care to join me? I haven't had much company lately, and it would be nice to talk to someone other than Napa for a change." The young boy would smile to the twins, hoping that they would accept his invitation and get the chance to catch up.

Apparently max could tell that Komon was a bit put off by the new puppet limbs, but he had meant no offense by it. In fact he thought the limbs looked kind of cool. “Sorry didn’t mean to draw attention to it” He’d say as he turned to see his brother come around the corner. Max held a conversation with him as he walked up to which Komon didn’t really understand, so he just assumed the two had met before then, especially since he didn’t seem to be the least bit surprised by Max’s puppet limbs.
His attention snapped back when Max asked if the twins wanted to eat. “Uh yeah sure, Me and Komori were about to go eat some seafood at that restaurant around the corner, you can tag along if you’d like. Komon would say while smiling before looking to Komori to see if he would approve. Although he didn’t really care if he did or not, Max was coming regardless.

Komori recalled the nurse from not too long ago, when he had visited Max in the hospital. The tight skirt remained a fond memory in Komori’s mind as he stopped staring into space and began to pay attention to the actual conversation once more, “I think I’ll stop by to see her afterwards, actually,” he said with a wide smile on his face while scratching the back of his head. It was a habit, really, whenever he felt slightly awkward or ashamed for forgetting something. For the record, Komori was completely up to something. The Hozuki was happy to accept the young puppeteer as a dinner guest, and as such, simply nodded his head. “Hope you like seafood.” Komori was in a rather good mood because he had both been reminded to visit the insanely hot nurse and also for his progress as of late. He truly felt as though he was growing as a shinobi.

Max would be happy to enjoy some seafood with the twins. “Yeah, that sounds nice.” Max would say as he walks with them to the nearby restaurant. The sweet smell of food hung in the air, a pleasant appetizer to the meals that were likely to come. Max could feel his stomach growl a bit, clearly indicating that he should eat something soon.
Upon sitting down, Max would immediately look over the menu. “I haven’t eaten here before, so what would you recommend?” the boy would ask, his eyes never lifting from the menu. He hadn’t meant to be rude, but he was starving and trying to find a tasty meal as soon as he could.
“So, Komon. Komori had told me that you have moved on and gotten a promotion. He said you made it to Chuunin while I was in the hospital. Congratulations! So what is it like having those added responsibilities? Did they already assign you a team?” Max asked inquisitively. The boy had a tendency to wander around the village and learn as much as he could about the things happening around it, but due to his circumstances he hadn’t been able to recently.
“And Komori, last time we spoke you said you were almost a Chuunin yourself. How is that going?”

As the trio made their way into the restaurant, they were escorted to their table by a nice waitress that Komori would most likely hit on. Once seated, Max would admit that he had never eaten at the restaurant before and asked Komon for a recommendation. “Well I’m getting the fried salmon” He’d say before telling him that max should get it as well. Truth be told Komon had never eaten here either but it sounded good and he might as well recommend something. Then max would ask him about his newfound job as a chuunin.
In all honesty Komon loved being a chuunin, which was something he hadn’t expected. He had never seen himself as someone who could lead until the job was forced on him by a relatively persistent chuunin by the name of senshi. “Chuunin is nice, we get a lot of responsibilities, things like filling out mission details, reporting back to the village. All that, and yah I do have a team in fact I just got the details. He’d let a smile crack on his face as he said this similar to the one’s he’d always let slip before retaliating to his brothers pranks. “My gennin are Hitori Uzumaki, Sakana Meijin, aaaaaaaaaaaaand Komori Hozuki” He’d let out a laugh as he said the last part aloud.

Re: Warm Meal on a Cold Day - Komon and/or Komori

Komori opened his mouth to hit on their waitress but then closed it as his last attempt at flirting with one had not gone over well. Come here often? He shuddered from the memory. He and Komon had shortly been kicked out afterwards for chucking chopsticks at each other, so Komori decided that he would be on his best behavior with Max around and keep his chopsticks to himself. It was nice seeing Komon out of uniform, as he usually wore Invictus, but had recently passed the armor on to Komori in preparation for his second chuunin exam. Then Komori had an idea. As the boys would sit down, Max began to ask a few questions for the boys to respond. He waited for Komon’s response before he would answer the question addressed to him, only to have a look of horror upon his face at the news being broken. His brother. Leading a team. Especially one with him on it. Komori had been training rather intensely as of late, and been attempted to fly through his chuunin exams with passing colors. As his brother laughed, presumably with his eyes being closed, Komori would seize this opportunity to sign Bird → Snake → Dragon → Horse → Ox as his fingers would light up with blue chakra. He would then use the Keiren no Jutsu to shock his less attractive brother on the shoulder. If it contacted, Komori would laugh at his brother, and if it was blocked, he would be disappointed that Komon refused to be any fun.
Komori would then answer Max’s question, “Yes, I’m nearly there.” He smiled at his progress. “The only exams that I have left are the final two. Although speaking to the Raikage is the one that truly scares me the most…” his voice wandered off as the waitress came by again to bring them glasses of water and take their orders, “What would you like, hun?” She spoke with a southern drawl, which was odd, considering that they were in the Land of Lightning. Komori answered, “A chance to get to know you better. And as for the food, I’ll have the salmon skin roll, please.” He said these phrases casually, with almost no break in between. And before anyone else could say otherwise, the waitress blushed slightly at the unexpected flirtation, in a way that meant that she was totally into him. No one else gets to say otherwise. She then would ask the boys what they wanted to order, starting with Max.

“Well, it is good that you have someone that you are on such good terms with as team leader. Plus, you guys are already highly familiar with one another. Should anything bad happen you know that you have a teammate that you can both count on and trust. That is a key element in any successful team composition. I can understand their reasoning for doing such.” Max would say, clearly trying to make Komori feel a bit better about it as he seemed rather… displeased with the news. In fact, he seemed to want to vent his frustration and so he would try to use a Lightning Syle jutsu to shock the unsuspecting brother. He could almost feel the brotherly connection between the two twins. It was a wonderful feeling.
Max would take Komons suggestion and decide to order that. As the waitress came over to take the order, Komori would order a salmon roll while simultaneously finding a way to try and flirt with her. After seeing him in action with that nurse at the hospital, the youth would expect no less from the Hozuki.
“I’ll have the fried salmon, and a tall glass of iced tea as well. Unsweetened please.” The boy would say with haste. If the twins knew him a bit better, they would know that he regularly eats candy and sweets for many of his meals. It would be strange that he would order a tea without any sugar.
“I can’t say that I want to have the responsibilities of a team. I don’t mind more difficult missions. I don’t mind learning how to properly fill out the paperwork, either. I just really don’t like the idea of being responsible for the lives of others under me. What if I don’t lead very well? Or worse, what if a bad call of mine ends up killing one or more of my students?” Max asked these questions, mostly directed at Komon since he had already been a chuunin, but Komori could freely respond as well.
“I am planning on taking on the exams. I just worry about my leadership skills. I’m only recently developing more… people skills. I only spoke to Napa for a while there.”
