Komori was finally ready. Senshi and his twin brother Komon had been chuunin for what seemed like weeks to the young Hozuki. He was eager, despite having killed several people the day prior to this scheduled meeting. He darted outside of his house, this time closing the door behind him. He had a pet corgi now, Captain “Komorgi” Einstein. He would not be able to fight alongside of him in the same manner as Beafosu’s bear, but perhaps if he put enough effort in, he could get it to pee on Komon’s bed. The boy rounded a corner with a smile on his face. He had heard the rumors about the Raikage. He was a man to be feared, yet respected in the same manner as a deity. However, Komori was feeling exceptionally brave today as he ran down the roads of Kumogakure until he arrived at the office of the kage. He was escorted to his leader’s chambers as he would wait outside of a closed door.

The raikage had paid special attention to this particular Genin"s journey and it was finally time for a big milestone. The door to the office would creak open, seemingly unassisted, into a darkened roon, daring Komori to enter.
Should the Genin do so, he would find only a single chair in the center. A raspy voice that originated from nowhere and everywhere at once would speak up.
"Sit"

Komori was immediately creeped out by the ghost door as he decided to skip out on the mission and remain a genin forever instead of come face to face with the Plague Lord himself. At least, that is what he thought to himself as he froze in place. Komori exhaled sharply, in what might have been the beginning of his final breaths as he forced his legs to move and approach the creaky door. It seemed as though someone with the Raikage’s status could have afforded to oil the door, but Komori was not going to verbalize his thoughts as they ran a thousand miles a second. His barrage of thoughts only made it easier to walk forwards as he entered the room where the sun did not seem to shine. He stood in the doorway, taking in the scene before him, despite there not being much to observe. An unfamiliar voice invited him to take a seat. The Raikage. Komori felt a small lump form in his throat, but refused to gulp. He would show no fear, even in the face of death himself. Komori stepped forward, more confident in his steps, but careful not to show any signs that could be taken as bravado and cockiness. He continued his pace until he reached the chair, where he promptly sat down straight with his arms folded in the lap. This man was his leader, and as such, he deserved respect.

Once the Genin was seated, the disembodied voice would continue.
" You have come far in your journey, and yet this is further to go still. You seek the rank of chunin and I ask you, why should you be given it? From all that you have learned of yourself through these missions, why do you feel you deserve to be hailed as a chunin of Kumogakure no Sato?"

Komori had to consider his words carefully, as this was a loaded question. How he responded would determine the course of his career as a shinobi. He had no plans to manipulate the Raikage or lie, as one would on a resume. He did not want to pause, as he did not want to appear as if he was unsure of himself. Short, sweet, and to the point, he stated unwaveringly, “My duty as a shinobi of Kumogakure no Sato is to protect the city and its inhabitants. My purpose in life is to protect my family, my friends, and my village, Lord Raikage sir.” He addressed the man with a formal title in order to be able to demonstrate that he recognized the kage as his superior as he would continue for a brief moment. “It is my belief that as a chuunin, I would be able to become better prepared for the responsibility that I choose to take upon myself.” This man practically held the boy’s life in his own hands. He could squash the Hozuki in a moment, turning the boy into a bloody puddle instead of a water one. He would continue sitting unwaveringly as the Raikage would presumably continue.

"Inteteresting..." The voice rasped as the door behind them snapped shut, no sign of creaking from the well oiled hinges.
"And what if you find that protecting your family and your village becomes mutually exclusive one day?" A chilling pause as an icy blast of air occupies the room for a few seconds, disappearing without a trace.
The voice speaks again, a cold, calculated statement. "I understand you have a twin..."

Dammit. Honestly, Komori had anticipated this question, but the fact that this was true still hit him as a surprise. The first question seemed more rhetoric than the second statement, especially since the mention of his blood related family came as a shock to him. The Raikage could not seriously ask him to consider killing his brother? Right? He would dwell on this thought, however, he would not let it show as he tried to think quickly in order to not appear hesitant. “I do indeed, Lord Raikage. He is known as Komon Hyuuga of the Hidden Cloud.” He took a short breath. “You recently promoted him to the rank of chuunin, sir.”

The disembodied voice ignored Komori's remark, choosing to stay quiet as the boy tried to formulate an answer to his first question. He had answered the second but said nothing on the first and until he did, the Genin would be locked in this dark, eerie room, only to be assaulted by sudden blasts of cold air that ended as quickly as they started.
The man behind the voice was not to be trifled with.

The Raikage did not seem too thrilled with his response, as Komori evaluated what he had just done in order to send him into silence. A cool breeze blew against him, as he shivered slightly. “My belief is that I would protect my village, as I also view the village as my family.” He paused to allow the Raikage to soak in his words before continuing, “Should a family member decide to turn against the village, it would be my duty as a shinobi to stop the rogue member. Whether it be a friend or even my own brother, I will do what is best for the people of my village. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Even if it is my own, personal needs.” He would await the Raikage’s response.

Listening to the boy go on about the possibility of turning on his family for the good of the village, the voice remained silent, contemplative. Only when Komori was done speaking did the voice let out a short short sound of interest.
"But your brother, your twin is not simply your flesh and blood. You share a much more important relationship within the village ranks. He is a chunin, and your superior. By our regime you are ordered to do all he asks of you without question... Would you turn on authority and disobey?"
