Kasuga & Jace vs The Two Tails

Rather bothersome this border patrol had been. Given the task by his own father, he had been sent out to observe and eventually seek out the cause of a mild disturbance in the area as it had once been reported by a group of wanderers and traders. Standing near the borders of Konoha, the armor clad male looked and peered outward with his right hand shielding his eyes from the sun which had been just a few moments behind him. The trees would have served as cover if he had stayed in them, but discovery and investigation meant coming out and seeing for yourself right?

The eldest son of the Ametsuchi had been wearing one of his armors since his arrival, not wanting to be caught off guard. The single brown dusted armor clung to his form as the long locks blew in the breeze, catching small amounts of the fabric that had once kept his spear shielded from the elements. The only other effects on his person had been his Konoha head band which sat rested against his forehead gently," Something like a disturbance should have been investigated by more than one jounin and a chuunin but...meh it gets me out of the village and into some trouble," the gauntlet clad hands slid to his side as he turned his head slightly to look at the chakra presence that would have been coming up to him.

His eyes looked but for a moment as he returned back to his looking," Sup. Take it you are the extra the village sent? Kasuga. I guess you are pretty curious as to what we were called out here for huh? I don't blame you to be honest, but just so we are clear...Uhh. Hmm..Just don't die and have fun alright?," it was odd feeling...excited about something? Yeah that had to have been it. Excited for something like this. There were many speculations on about just what they were dealing with, but when it finally managed to happen? The boy would be willing and ready for it.

It had been some time since Jace had been sent out on border patrol. This one in particular was in response to reports of a strange disturbance near the village of Konoha. The boy was told that he would be working with a Jounin, the eldest son of Lord Hokage himself. He couldn't help wondering if the guy would be anything like his father. Jace and Lord Kurisu had only met in person a handful of times, but the Uchiha liked him a lot. 

He was walking through the dense forest with his signature pink umbrella being held over his left shoulder as he did so. The hilt of his Heaven's Sorrow ninjato was protruding over his right shoulder for easy access. He had brought all of his usual gear with him; his flack jacket was underneath his shirt, his flute, shuriken, kunai and other ninja tools were placed in the two weapons pouches on his belt. The ring on his right index finger gave him a slight boost to his chakra capacity. His right hand was casually placed into the pocket of his pants as he stepped out from the treeline and next to the Jounin. Kasuga was his name. "Jace Uchiha. I was told that we were supposed to investigate rumors of a strange disturbance. Honestly this is the first time I've been assigned to work under another shinobi on a mission. Usually I'm the one leading the teams." he said calmly in answer to the male's words. 

The crimson of Jace's sharingan scanned the environment around the duo. In front of them was a huge expanse of grass; a large lake was a few meters off to the boys' right. The treeline ended right where they had stepped out from. If he were to guess, Jace would say the lake was probably close to 100 meters in diameter. There was no way to measure meadow in front of him because it went on for as far as his eyes could see.

The beast of blue fires was finally free. And it has been enjoying its freedom very much. So, when the shinobi started to investigate the forests of Fire Country, Matatabi was less than happy, so say the least. For weeks the Two Tails was trying to avoid them, but as these pesky humans were zeroing in on her location the flaming monster cat decided it may be the right approach to kill some of them off. Maybe that will get them off her tails. In attempt to stay hidden as far as possible Matatabi had reduced her form to one in significantly smaller size than what she was capable of becoming. And in such form she had been prowling some distance behind two lone shinobi of considerable chakra, playing cat and mouse, as they were approaching her habitat, while staying hidden from them. But now, it was time to pounce.


Still maintaining her stealth the monster cat would run through the forest attempting to make as little noise as possible until the very end. Then, it would step into the light. Bringing a few trees down with a loud enough crashing noise Matatabi would emerge from the treeline some 15 meters to the left of the two shinobi. The beast in blue flaming fur stood about 4 meters tall and about as wide with body close to 6 meters in length. Her 6 meters long tails arcing through the air she would roar at the men releasing her full chakra in a blast of energy and showing off her glorious fangs. Making first impressions was important and if they didn't fight back, she might even let one of them escape to let the terror of the Bijuu be known. Her golden and green eyes locking onto her prey, the beast would pull with her 3 meter long legs, each protruding with majestic half a meter long dagger-like claws, and start a rush towards the two that dared stand before Two Tailed Bijuu, Matatabi!

"So you're usually the smart one in these situations? Fair enough. Though I think i'd like to see just what makes you the leader most of the time so you'll take point alright?," the words flowed thoughtfully out of his mouth as he continued to look around unaware at the moment for what had still been in the forest while his eyes took on the form of his native Kenseigan. For a moment he found it odd, they had sent the two of them out here in order to look for something but hadn't seen anything yet? Odd. For this reason he took in a deep breath and focused outward, his hearing stretching to the left, right, in front and behind him for fifty meters.  Everything from the swaying of the trees and grass all the way to the babbling of the lakes surface was keen to him but something...stood out.

Faint it was but not unnoticed, someone or something rather was moving from the forest and behind them at a slow pace. Was it intentional? Or just some animal trying to find shelter somewhere? Either way the young Ametsuchi took no chances in attempting to find out. His body turned just for a moment as he looked at Jace," In events like these you just gotta bank it right?," the gauntlets on his hands dropping to the ground and force awakening in front of him. What were simple accessories to his armor grew up five meters and out five meters into colossal hands which floated beside him. Because of the armor flowing to life, he felt the actual effects of the armor take place.

Whatever had been in the forest he was confirming it. Trees had always cracked and moaned before falling, anyone in the vicinity would hear it unless you weren't there then...well you didn't. These two were in the prime position to hear it before the surprise. At the exact moment the trees cracked (This would be just as Matatabi would be pushing past the trees to jump out), the fists collided with the ground causing a shockwave to produce outward from Kasuga. His partner would be safe from the after effects since he was outside of the cone that was created.

Within seconds a giant chasm spanning 20 meters across and downward at 100 speed to swallow the beast before it managed to touch the ground. The movement was sudden and without warning knowing that their enemy could be a powerful one, taking away the ground below the beast before it could make a strike. With the first move made by them he waited for the after response of the beast and his partner.

Kasuga had mentioned wanting to see Jace's leadership abilities for himself, telling the Chuunin to take point on this mission. That was a lot of pressure on his shoulders. Normally it wouldn't have bothered the boy, but since it was coming from a Jounin and Lord Seventh's son it was a little unnerving. At the same time it made him feel proud to be held in somewhat high esteem, at least that was how he saw it. 

The male had turned now, noticing something that Jace hadn't. He expected no less from someone of Kasuga's standing. After a quick mention of 'banking it', the Jounin's armor gauntlets did something Jace had never seen before followed by a quick action that led to a large chasm opening up in front of the pair. A resounding 'crack' could be heard at the same time, an abnormally large cat that looked to be made up entirely of blue flames leaped out from the treeline. 'The two tails.' Without any hesitation, Jace weaved three simple hand seals in succession as fast as his body would allow. The same moment that the bijuu was above the chasm that Kasuga had opened up, a flock of 25 crows would appear in a cloud of smoke surrounding it and begin to dive at it from every angle. The loud sound of cawing carried throughout the area.

If the blue-flamed cat fell into the chasm then Jace would wait and see what happened next before making a move. If it managed to avoid falling into it, or leaped out of the chasm then he would immediately cast one of his favorite techniques, the Genjutsu: Binding. "That should hold it, but I doubt it will be for long. Hit it hard and fast." he said to his partner. If the two tails would break out of the paralysis genjutsu, Jace would immediately perform another single hand seal and trigger a second genjutsu technique using his crows as a catalyst. If it took effect, Matatabi would begin to feel very tired and soon fall asleep if the genjutsu wasn't broken. Thanks to his skills in the art of genjutsu, the Temple of Nirvana technique would be triggered by the cat simply seeing the crows black feathers, the symbolic white, illusory feathers normally used for the technique's trigger would not appear.

Unfortunately using so much chakra at once caused the curse mark at the base of Jace's neck to spread, activating itself without his consent. Still, it gave him a boost to his abilities that would surely be necessary in this fight. The pain that he felt from the curse mark activating itself made the boy wince slightly as the black markings quickly engulfed his entire body.

OOC stuff:

While still running silently in the shadows of the forest, Matatabi would notice through the gaps of trees, in the light of direct sunlight, that one of the two did something. At the same time as their chakra flared slightly, their armor or whatever it was that these creatures used, began to enlarge. Apparently they were slightly harder to sneak up upon than she first expected, but they did not seem to have spotted her just yet. This line of thought soon led to the monster cat choosing against a loud, crashing-through-the-trees entry. Instead, while still in the shade of the forest and with chakra suppressed, the two tailed beast threw itself to the right and directly at the shinobi. With about 15 meters between them, she would move between the trees in hope of getting on top of them unnoticed. At the very least she was somewhat hidden by the forest and completely obscured from one of them because of an umbrella in the exact direction she was coming from.

His first instinct was off by a bit, his eyes scanning the area from the current position of left to right before stopping at the center of the forest for a moment. Something was in there, he was certain. What on the other hand was unknown. A few deep breaths were taken as the gauntlets floated beside him occasionally moving from the side to the front as he backed away, keeping his eyes in a wide enough arc so that he could see the length of the forest opening. As he did this he quickly made the clone seal, creating a single clone to his left with his same apparel which put Jace on his right. The two (Kasuga and his clone) moved backwards with large strides, the clone sweeping from the left to the right with his sight while Kasuga maintained the center cover as a just in case. With the two moving he knew his partner would follow suit until they had positioned themselves away. He left any major decisions to his squad leader unless...of course Jace had other plans.

Noticing the Jounin turning to look into the forest behind them, Jace also turned. It was obvious the male had noticed something that Jace had not. After creating a clone, the two Kasugas began to move backwards so that they distanced themselves from the treeline. It was a smart move. Whatever was out there was coming from behind them in the dense forest. It would be easier to counter any attack if they were out in the open. At least this way they wouldn't be snuck up on. 

Jace followed suit and also began do back away from the treeline and into the open area. His sharingan darted from side to side, covering as much of the expanse of trees as he could and looking for any sign of an enemy. He saw an enormous mass of chakra ahead of them now; it took the shape of what looked like a large cat of some type. It confused Jace. That was an enormous amount of chakra even for a human. How did an animal come to possess it? 

"Stay sharp. Whatever it is has enormous amounts of chakra. The instant you see it I want you to attack. I'll act quickly to stun it with my genjutsu to give you an opening. I don't like being caught off guard like this. I'll use my crows as a distraction as well."
 he said as he performed a quick series of three hand seals in succession. There was a cloud of smoke and a flock of 25 crows appeared in the air above the two Konoha shinobi. The cawing could be heard across the large expanse of land. There was a sharp pain at the base of Jace's neck which made him wince slightly, the curse mark he had been imbued with activated on it's own. The black markings quickly spread to cover the boy's entire body. He could feel his abilities increasing when the pain subsided. He had yet to master using this damned mark, but it was still a good tool to have.

The creature had spent a while being away from the world, but these two judging by their chakra seemed to be as powerful as the one who imprisoned her, so the beast was not taking any chances. Having taken some time to look around, perform their things and such, the three silhouettes of shinobi would manage to get less than 10 meters from the treeline by the time Matatabi reached it. Her chakra would suddenly explode as she took on a truly monstrous form of the hunt, even setting nearby trees ablaze. The Two Tails would rush at its full speed into the light of the sun and at the three figures, this happening shortly after the clone was created. Before the one with an umbrella would have had the opportunity to speak or perform handseals for that matter, the Bijuu would spit out two hair balls in blue flames. First, taking form of a meter sized fiery mouse would continue flying directly at the armored shinobi in the center of the three; the second hairball falling on the ground would take shape of a somewhat similar creature twice the size and start running towards the identical looking shinobi to the beast's right, would it be allowed to get in range it would attempt to bite into the exposed neck or face of its target. These two attacks would drift slightly in a different direction than the beast was heading as its sights were set on the one closest to it and to the left of the three, the Uchiha (not that the beast knew it yet). Once the two attacks were launched Matatabi would roar while continuing her approach as she started gathering massive amounts of chakra for the most powerful attack in her arsenal.
