A Proposition (Nk/P)
Sat Apr 29, 2017 12:37 am
The meeting had just come to a close, and she knew the male known as Maku couldn’t be far. She had business with the male, and hope that he would take the time to listen to her requests. She hit the rooftops first, allowing for a better view. Her eyes scanned the area looking for the male. She wasn’t on high alert per say, but casually looking. She could still sense the boy’s chakra in the surrounding are so headed towards that direction.
What kind of business did she have with the male you might be asking yourself? Well, Suna was now under Kumo’s absolute control. They had control of their wealth, their military, everything. Not only that, but Kyson was not considered the Kazekage of the Hidden Sand. She didn’t understand it, nor did she think she ever will, but she needed to believe that the male could take care of the village. If he truly cared about it as he said he did in that room, then she would be able to leave the village without any worry.
Leave where you might ask? Well, Maku wanted to take half of Suna’s military force, so the girl had a proposition for him that she hope she could convince him to take. What was that proposition? For her to lead Suna’s military. Why would a Chunin lead a military over someone of a higher ranking? because she had the skills needed to do as such, and while there were many who were against everything that was happening and rather uncooperative, the Uzumaki wanted nothing more than gain Maku’s trust. If you can’t beat em, join em... right? She also wanted to make sure those that were taken would be safe, and that the male would keep his word. We could sit here and go on and on over all the reasons the Uzumaki was doing this, but we’d get there all in do time. For now, her goal was finding Maku.

Walking through the village after dark, it was oddly quite. Almost peaceful even, despite what had occurred not that long ago. The people here, they must used to being safe. He contemplated what it would be like to be somewhere...........where the threat of violence was so low that one could sleep after all of these events. It must have taken years of complacency, of solitude from the war of shinobi kind.....Or perhaps Koroshi had simply been that strong. A pillar that stood firm even in absence, lifting up an entire village by mere reputation alone. These were his thoughts as he walked the streets, sand his mainstay for travel companions at the moment.
He found his fingers fiddling with his mask. Untying the strings and bringing it down to hang from his hands. He looked at the empty eye sockets, the grin, the way the wood absorbed the light of the street lights surrounding him. It was not dissimilar to that of an ANBU mask, a position he may have once aspired to be. He had little doubt with his skills he would make a good one, well if he could have accepted the life of being faceless.......which was admittedly doubtful. So many paths, so many questions. Even now in these moments of victory these thoughts of doubt crept their way in. What was the point, what was the end game. The disappearance of Koroshi if possible, upset him more than the villagers. It could have been a good death....for either of them. Now there was this.....Nothing.
Placing the mask back on his head his chakra signature would vanish. Though he was making no secrets of his presence or pace. He merely strolled, because strolling is what one does when they contemplate the mysteries of the universe, or after they have had a big meal. To which, he could use.
He thought he could feel someone following him, however he paid it no attention. The wolf does not walk through the herd of sheep and pay them heed.............The quite night was interrupted with his own tinkling laughter. Honestly, the thought some might take themselves that serious left him with endless amusement. Damn, where was a bar when you needed one. He had admittedly cut back during this latest adventure. Attempting to fill a void, find a purpose.....build something tangible. Yet, what was he building and who was he building it for? Himself..........anyone who knew Maku, truly knew him would know all of this meant next to nothing. It had not be hard, had not been a struggle, it had just been something to do. This very fact irked him beyond belief. Yet here he was......He missed being surprised, even by the little things like sandwiches. He missed his friend who continued his isolation, he had always been more sensitive than anyone knew. He missed the man that had first given him a mission...........He missed, well that is what it is isn't it? He was missing.................so walks a missing shinobi, not because of deed or desire, but the lack of a true purpose. In searching for the struggle, he only found a clear path, which was never what he really wanted.
These musing tormented his mind, left with the silence of night. These were the times he most hated, he needed the noise, the bustle, the drums. His left hand came up and pinched the bridge of his nose, it would be easier to let loose......but he wouldn't, not yet. A drink sir, that's what I need......he thought quietly to himself. Well, and for the tailgater to hurry it along.

Re: A Proposition (Nk/P)

The girl sat on the edge of one of the many rooftops in Sunagakure, her eyes imprisoned by the captivating crescent moon that rested above the desert village. She had been searching for the male for a little while now and had decided to just take a moment to observe the tranquility that was blessed over her village on this night. Things could have ended very differently than it had, yet everyone has come out with their lives. The only thing lost on this day was probably the village’s pride (and the kazekage), which was probably a small price to pay for the lives of many.
It was a strand of luck, or maybe just some sort of sixth sense (plot power?) that she directed her attention to the Suna road below her and what did she see other than a lone figure walking by. On any other night, the girl would take it as just some drunkard making his way home or to a quiet spot in a small alley to call it a night... but this wasn’t no ordinary night was it?
It wasn’t just that, but the golden blonde streaks of hair and the black cloak with the crimson clouds that signalled the girl that it was no one other than the male she was looking for. Well, and the fact that the brief removal of his mask revealed the boy’s rather large chakra signature. The boy’s feeling of being watched/being followed wasn’t off, as the female simply watched blonde walk a handful of metered before she’d approached. Her mind echoed with emotions and she wasn’t quite sure on which exact one she should be feeling? Part of her felt carefree, ready to pursue a new chapter in her life as part of the Kumo empire. Another part of her felt livid to the fact that she now had to go an indefinite amount of time before she could start her journey on finding her parents. Another sensed frustration towards her inability to do anything about her village’s condition. This was just a freckle in her despair.
Of course, the girl plucked one of her many feelings and ushered the other ones out the door. She considered herself to be an actress after all and locking away how she truly felt and throwing away the key was a skill she had mastered. Based on her limited interaction with the unknown male, she had selected her desired approach. She simply leaped off the edge of the building, landing early about twenty meters behind from the boy’s current position. The Uzumaki wasn’t trying to achieve any sense of stealth so Maku would probably hear the girl’s landing on the dry desert floor.
“Any one out after a day like this is either a tough son of a bitch, or looking for a good drink.” She let out, her voice filled with energy and confidence as she made her way towards the boy. “You seem to fill both those things.” The girl would pause for a quick moment, halting about five meters to observe the boy’s characteristics. Considering most of him was hid away behind a devilish white mask and dark cloak, there really wasn’t much to observe, but she searched anyways as if she’d find something. “If you’re interested, I know a place right around the corner. I’ll even buy you a drink, and I don’t do that for any guy.” She winked at the male, giving the boy a wry smile that exposed a dimple on the right side of her face.
Ironic no? Her actions to the man who single handedly demanded a world power without contest. Welp, the girl was full of surprises. Besides, he spared everyone in the village so he didn’t seem like someone to just randomly kill someone for no reason. He seemed... rational. “C’mon.” She’d say, waving in her direction as she continued walking past him. While she was a rather care-free individual, she also wasn’t stupid. Her senses were all on rather high alert during this process. A beautiful woman alone with a man in the middle of the night. That just screamed stranger danger.
Assuming the boy had followed along, the Uzumaki would lead the male down the road and to the left where the bar known as the ‘Sand Lobster’ stood proud at the corner of the street. The somewhat rundown establishment had maybe one or two patrons, the only other person being the bartender who was reading an old newspaper. The self proclaimed Princess of Suna took a seat at a small table near the center of the room, calling over the bartender. “Can we get a bottle of Sake.” The girl asked as the man complied. She figured she’d wait for the drinks to arrive before the conversation could actually commence.

He would hear the girls feet hit the sand and start to turn. Finishing when she was speaking. Once she had concluded he would lift his mask and give a smile. His eyes absent of the red tint. Instead they were blue, drinking in what little light was left. "Why not?" He would ask without expectation of a return answer.
His mask would bounce behind his head, it's effects no longer working since it had been removed from his head. His hands fiddled with invisible cufflinks, before his whole outfit popped and changed. Instead of robes, he now had black slacks, and a fitted black button up shirt. The tie hung about to his belt, with little red clouds that continued to trace around the dark fabric.
He would shrug and wave, clearly he's trying for her to lead the way. He had no interest in conversation as of yet, and therefore followed her in mostly silence.
Entering the bar he took in the surroundings, and had a seat at the agreed upon table. The bartender moved and retrieved the bottle bringing it quickly to the table. He looked at Maku without recognition. This was fine, he simply gave him a smile and a wink. "Bourbon for me please. That swill isn't for me I'm afraid." He would say with a shrug. Allowing the bottle to clear be placed on the kuniochi's tab. He could have stopped it, but maybe the girl had a drinking problem, who was he to stop her?
His own dark amber drink returned quickly after. In a crystal glass, a single Ice cube floating in the drink. Picking it up he swirled it, giving it a smell before placing it back down. Up until this point having given her the minimum of notice. "Soooo, what do you want?" He would ask cheerily. Sometimes he enjoyed playing games, moving this way and that, and other times he enjoyed just being direct. Honest it was like it came on the spot.
His chakra wasn't hidden, he claimed this place. It was his, that much was not up for debate. His posture relaxed, and his body language describing such. He continued to swirl the beverage still having not taken a drink.

The man accepted her offer, following her along to the local bar that she had acquainted herself with quite well since she first arrived in Suna several years ago. The two would make their way there, taking a seat and placing their drinks.
The blonde individuals turned down her choice of drink for something with a little more kick. “hm, nice choice.” The girl would simply say. She was a fan of all sorts of liquor. There wasn’t any that didn’t ticker her fancy. Those who knew her knew she was quite the heavy drinker, but a bitch could hold her liquor. While she did like her stronger spirits, she stuck with a bottle of Sake. She wasn’t looking to get crunk on this little meeting of strangers, but she would be looking for a little liquid courage. The girl poured some of the warm Sake into her little glass before taking a sip of it, letting it’s contents flow through her body. She’d need to do a couple of shot of those before she’d feel any true effects though.
The man was straight to the point, something the girl could respect, and would probably do the same were she in his shoes. “A girl buys you a drink and you automatically assume she wants something?” The girl retorted to his question. “Jeez, you must be quite the lady’s man.” She took another little baby glass of Sake down before pouring herself another. Her eyes would flick from the glass to the male as she finished, giving a moment before she took another drink. She noticed, his glass remained untouched, but that wouldn’t stop the Uzumaki from enjoying her liquid gold.
Kira weighed her options momentarily. She could make buddy-buddy with the warlord, but let’s be honest, at the end of the day they weren’t there to make small talk, Maku had proven that already. With a slight smile on her hips and an airiness in her voice, she’d continue, getting straight to the point. “ I want to help lead the Suna army for you.” She’d lay back in her chair, getting herself comfortable yet expecting the laughter to leave the male’s lips to the thought of the rather petite girl leading a military army. If he left room for her to talk, she’d continue.
“We can both agree that your reception has been met with --” She paused a brief moment to search for the right word before continuing “conflicting opinions. But I want to be a part of your whole political takeover thing.” She drank another little shot of Sake, leaving room for a mocking laugh or whatever it was that the blonde male might throw her way. Either way, she’d continue unfazed unless it was something completely out there. She knew her own capabilities. “Let me gather your trust, and your respect... Not because I like you, not because I respect you, not because I’m a traitor, and definitely not to be a kiss ass, although I hear I’m quite good at it.” The last few words having a hint of seductiveness before she continued on. “But for the people of my village. I think it’’s best for both parties that we cooperate with one another, and not being at odds will probably result in the least amount of death don’t you think?”
She’d poor herself another glass of sake, getting through about half the bottle at this point. To be fair, it wasn’t a very big bottle. She weighed what she had said in her own mind. She’d hope she’d see the truth in her words. While Suna had surrendered, the fate of the village still hadn’t been released as public knowledge yet, and who knew the outcry that could occur. She hopes that having such a position could help calm things down, get people to cooperate, and see that maybe being under Kumo’s rule and protection could be a diamond in the rough, especially after their Kazekage had gone MIA. She’d await his response, her Blue/Green eyes locked on the blues of his.

"That's a bold move...". He would say before downing the whole glass. He could feel the warmth in his gut and the burn down his throat. He missed this, it filled a void that was left empty. One he had admittedly placed there himself, yet it was there the same. The girl was truly going for it so to speak. It was a good move, she was the first suna nin to approach him sense the take over, and clearly this was planned.
If it was anyone else they might take the offer right away. Using someone who so clearly had aspirations to their advantage. Yet where was the fun in that? It was better to breed some struggle in his opinion. It is only through struggle that greatness continues to be gained. "Kyson is the leader, you all let him sit the chair, why wouldn't he be the one to lead?" He would ask pouring a second glass.
He was still weighing out the people of this village, the powers he felt varied greatly. Yet that didn't always truly tell the tale of power. This girl for example could be holding a lot more than she outwardly displayed, or outwardly she could display more than she had within. That was the game of shinobi, trust no one, keep your secrets close to the chest.
"Regardless, what can you do for me that he couldn't? What makes you qualified to lead?" He would ask going on. Being powerful, strong by oneself was one thing, but to inspire and to hold a militia together was something completely different. Still she had sparked his interest, he stared back at her eyes, noticing the differentiation in colors. "How far would you go to prove it?" He asked, still looking in her eyes, starting to smile.

“I’m a bold person.” She bounced back immediately matching his chug with hers. In her mind, she prepared herself in case this had gone sideways. Her plan wasn’t to take over Kyson’s position per say, but to lead on the outside the walls of Suna while he led inside the walls. Though, she had to be careful with her words. While this man had proven to not be as violent as the rest of Kumo, she still had yet to grasp the boy’s personality as a whole. Maybe he would do a 180 real quick. Last thing she wanted to do was end up like Spencer from The Walking Dead (Spoiler?).
Her eyes were still locked on his as he finally began to speak. It was no surprise that Kyson was brought up. The answer to his question seemed obvious, but she decided to play along and answer, her glass already filled with Sake as she held it up at eye level, studying it’s contents. The brown warm liquid begging to be swallowed. To those dirty minded readers, get your head outta the gutter. “We let him take the lead as it was the wishes of the previous Kazekage. If that is what Koroshi wanted, who are we to truly argue a dead man’s wishes... Assuming he is of course.” Her voice remained nonchalant as she remembered how his Chakra just booped out of existence. She truly did wonder if he would ever come back, and why it was that he had to disappear at such a vital moment; when Suna needed him most.
The girl would continue speaking, finishing to answer his first question. “As he was appointed as the Kazekage, I’d only assume you’d keep him here to watch over things in the village. My request is to lead Suna’s forces outside the village to be a liaison between you and them” She’d slowly bring the glass to her lips as she finished off the sentence, tilting the liquid back as it made her way through her body. She was only now beginning to get a slight tingle from the alcoholic beverage, but she’d barely call it tipsy. For the first time since it arrived, she let the glass go and leaned in as she prepared to answer the boy’s second question. Her cleavage was in full view through the v neck cut in her red dress from the date that was ruined from the day’s events. Of course, it wasn’t her complete intention to give off such a view, it just came natural to play with a man’s mind; not that it would work on Maku.
“Well for starters, I have quite the way with words.” She said playfully, a smile perched on her lips. The smile quickly faded as she continued to speak. “ I believe I can lead Suna’s forced in a way that Kyson cannot. I’m sure you’ve noticed that he’s a rather passive, soft spoken fellow. qualities that aren’t really met for a leader wouldn’t you say?” She waved toward the Bartender, asking for a second round as her sake was running on empty. It was at this moment when the Uzumaki recalled some wise words that Maku had said during the meeting. She figured now would be a perfect time to use them. “Like you said earlier, a title means nothing unless you’re able to back it up, so let me back it up. Let me face Kyson, and I’ll prove a portion of my worth.” She didn’t sound arrogant or cocky, but she did ooze with confidence. While she mainly meant was she said, she was partially bluffing, not thinking a fight was necessary but rather a method to get Maku’s attention. But she’d be stupid to think that Maku wouldn’t call her on this proposition and it would be at this moment that her fate was probably sealed.
Her eyes were still locked on his as he finally began to speak. It was no surprise that Kyson was brought up. The entirety of her speech would be given before Maku responded. She was bold there was no doubt there. Self importance, cocky, ambitious all were ways to describe her. She saw what she wanted and she was going for it. This wasn't something he could fault her on, it is what he did.
"Deal." He would say setting down his glass. He did not refill it or make any move to do such. "Yet, not in the way you think. Kyson will be coming with me in the end. You too. You think your better, that you will do better then prove it." He would say standing. "Not in fighting, I can't think of anything I'd like to watch less than that. It would be meaningless. You want position, power, to maybe even bring your people out and lead them, then you have to beat him politically."
This revelation may or may not surprise her. If she had been confident enough to ask for a trial by combat he had to assume she was in some way willing to back that up, especially not know Maku that well. Though, he didn't give others what they wanted, he reserved that for himself. Keep them guessing, give them goals that met his own, that was the key. The harder she worked to take over, the harder she worked that increased Maku's own goals and aims. In the end it was simple.
"I'll be meeting with Kyson soon. You should get yourself ready for travel. We won't be here long." He would say cryptically. "Again, you want to prove it, you will soon get your chance. Patience though, I wonder if you have that....". He would comment noting how bold she had been with this meeting. Could she hide her time, did she have the political power, all would be put to the test soon. The courts of Hoshigakure would also help weigh these skills though she didn't know that was where they would soon be going.
"Until next time,". He would say with a half smirk and wave. Turning he would head to the door, "o and make sure you either cover up or go all in. No one likes a tease."

The girl spoke no words, leaving her superior to finish what he had to say as he had let her. It was a twist to see that Kyson was going to be coming along with them on this journey, and it quickly made her wonder who would stay here to look after the village if not Kyson. Sure, Suna was no long it’s own entity, but at the end of the day there were still people here that needed protecting from any others looking to do them harm. Maku had come peacefully asking for them to surrender which they did, but the next individual may not be so gentle and want to wreak havoc just for the hell of it. If it wasn’t Kyson, and it wasn’t the Uzumaki, maybe it was Roy? Hopefully someone the trio could trust.
The girl’s eyes narrowed slightly as her lips curled into a smile. “Consider it done” she said simply to his proposition of showing her worth. It wouldn’t be in combat, but in politics... in the ability lead the people. She was confident she can prove herself, and gain his trust but the fact that Kyson was indeed coming along changed plenty. At the end of the day, her goal was never to bring him down, but to bring herself up. This possibly meant that the two would be working together, and not against one another... but of course, Maku didn’t need to know that.
The Uzumaki continued to listen to the rest of his words as her second round of Sake came. “You’ll see everything that I have to offer shortly.” She said, taking another sip of the warm goodness in response to his reply about having patience. “That’s how you lure them in darling and get them coming back for more.” She called back out to his last remark just as he made his exit; loud enough so he’d surely hear. Kira would stay seated in her chair, finishing off her last round in her own company. Looks like she’d be doing some light packing tonight, but there was someone she had to go and find first.
