Learning to catch them palms [Solo Training]
Tue Jun 13, 2017 8:08 pm
Eight Trigrams: 64 Palms
This was a technique that garnered an advanced knowledge to learn. First, Tsuki had to understand the gentle fist fighting style, and every tenketsu point known to the Hyuga clan. This was her second time practicing a hyuga technique, and her father had given her such a powerful technique to master. However, it wasn't like Tsuki to complain. in fact, she enjoyed the fact that the eight trigrams sixty-four palms would be her second technique. There was nothing she loved more than a challenge, and this certainly did seem challenging.
However, for now she went over the lesson she was about to put to practice.
Inside every human being were these things called tenketsu, which were essentially pressure points. There were 361 tenketsu in the human body, and every tenketsu was located inside the chakra pathway. Tenketsu were what allowed shinobis to emit chakra from their body. However, there were only a few places tenketsu could be emitted. If Tsuki was a regular shinobi, she would only be allowed to emit chakra from her hands and feet.
She could emit it from her hands to allow her to perform jutsus, and she could emit it from her feet for taijutsu abilities, but those were the only limits she had. Since she was a hyuuga, however; she could emit more tenketsu if needed.
She remembered the first time she saw a hyuuga release chakra from EVERY tenketsu. It was when her father demonstrated his power. The only thing he did was spin, yet he allowed chakra to stream from his body and rotate with his movements. Within a second, a giant ball of chakra was spinning around him. When Tsuki had thrown a chair at the ball, it immediately broke apart and flew around the room. She flinched, terrified of the sound, and was teased by one of her brothers for it. Even still, she couldn't believe the marvel she witnessed.
Tenketsu were important, and the entire Hyuga clan relied on them for their techniques. What the sixty-four palms did, though, was target those tenketsu points.
By pulling chakra into the opponent's body, Tsuki could do one of two things: close the opponents tenketsu, effectively making them unable to use chakra, or open the opponents tenketsu, allowing chakra to flow once again. Tsuki had not mastered targeting Tenketsu yet, but she knew how to see it. Her byakugan allowed her special vision of what others could not see, which was all 361 tenketsu points. What the 64 palms did was target 64 of the 361 points. It was a tough technique to master, mostly because one wrong move and the attack would be ruined. Thus, she had to practice the over and over until she got the steps right.
One of the utmost important things to remember was, never stop once started. Performing the 64 palms and stopping halfway was unacceptable. Her father told her that. He said It was considered a waste, so Tsuki couldn't screw up.

Tsuki prepared herself. In front of her stood a wooden doll for practicing. She had placed stickers on the doll to represent the normal body's tenketsu points. Of course, she could not place all the tenketsu points on the doll since it was 361, but she placed at least 64 stickers on. With this, she would effectively be allowed to perform her technique.
The first and important part about performing the eight trigrams: sixty-four palms was that the opponent was in Tsuki's circle. Every Hyuga imagined a wide circle which allowed for distance interpretation. If the opponent was not in her circle, the technique would fail immediately. Luckily, all she was faced against was a wooden object, so worrying about distance wasn't important.
Thus, she imagined her circle.
"Witness the power of my Eight Trigrams," she chanted as she dropped into the gentle fist stance. After taking in a deep breath, Tsuki allowed herself to remain calm. All that she could hear was the chirping of the birds and the beating of her heart. The wind brushed beautifully past her skin, cooling her and carrying away her stress. When she was ready, she activated her byakugan and launched forward.
She extended both her hands, her fingers outstretched, then struck two tenketsu points. "Eight trigrams, two palms!" she shouted before continuing. She did not back away, but spun on her feet to the left. once again, she struck two tenketsu points with her fingers. "Four palms!" she shouted before stepping back.
What points do I go for next? She asked herself. In a real battle she couldn't second think like this. She had to be faster, and every attack she made must've been instinctual. She couldn't afford to stop and think in a real fight, so she didn't stop now.
She moved forward again, striking two stickers on the chest of the doll, then aimed for the dolls arm, striking two more. "Eight palms!" she hollered. Next, she twirled to the right side, striking two points on the arm, one point on the head, one point on the leg, and four more on the back. "Sixteen palms!" she released.
The next sequence had to be the toughest. She had to strike the doll sixteen times, then thirty two times afterwards. Without a doubt, this was where Tsuki would make a mistake. However, she was determined to succeed, so she forced herself not to screw up.
Tsuki struck ten stickers on the back of the doll, then dove under to strike six more stickers on the front of the doll. "Thirty-two palms!" she shouted with a mighty roar.
What flowed through her more than anything was determination. From the very beginning, she promised herself that she would not give up or fail. From now on, this would be her secret and most powerful technique, so she wanted nothing in the world but to do this and complete it.
Tsuki positioned herself right in front of the doll then struck. She hit the object twenty-four times, then swiftly flowed behind it to deliver 8 more strikes. "EIGHT TRIGRAMS 64 PALMS!" she victoriously shouted. For the grand finale, Tsuki thrusted her hand forward, making the doll shoot in the air with incredible force. The object immediately burst into pieces, rupturing form the power of Tsuki's "gentle fist".

When Tsuki finished she laid on the ground, completely breathless. Her fingers were very numb from all her attacks. They hurt like hell, and the palms she used to strike the doll were even worse. She could feel blisters and blood radiate from her hand, but she didn't focus on that. Instead of realizing she was in pain, she only focused on one thing: that she successfully performed the technique.
A slight chuckle came from her lips, and it quickly grew into a boisterous laugh the more she realized: she successfully performed the technique. It was her first try, yet she was able to strike all 64 stickers she placed on the doll. If her father could see her, she wondered how proud he would be in this moment. She did it! One of the most challenging techniques of the hyuuga were equally conquered by her! Tsuki's excitement could not end!
However, even if she was too excited to feel the pain, it was still there. She had done the unthinkable, but it came with a heavy cost. She couldn't stand by using her fingers because it hurt so much to simply move them. It was possible that she had just broken them while performing the sixty-four palms, because now she couldn't do anything at her own risk. In fact, the pain was so horrible that she had unwillingly passed out from shock.
A couple hours later, Tsuki woke up.
Standing up was a hassle for her, as she had to use her elbows to help herself up. Carefully, she walked inside of the house. She didn't realize this, but she had cried the entire time she passed out.
Tsuki didn't know where she went wrong and what happened to make her fingers hurt so much, but she didn't care. She performed the 64 palms, and that was all that mattered to her.
Wordlessly, she walked up to her room, climbed in her bed and fell asleep. It took a while for one of her brothers to find her and carefully tend to her wounds. She wasn't taken to the hospital, but bandaged up and told to rest herself. Even though she had practiced the sixty-four palms correctly, the risk was too great, and it took her a total of three days to fully recover.
After a week had passed, she was allowed to once again practice the 64 palms. Her father had given her a piece of advice, telling her not to practice on wood, but something a lot softer and close to human flesh. Unfortunately, there was no such thing as that in her home's training room. She wanted to practice the technique more, but her father had forbid her from using it on the practice dummies. That left her with very little options.
Finally, Tsuki came upon the only choice she knew would be acceptable: Practice the technique on a living person. Unfortunately, this technique was very deadly, so she couldn't use it on her brothers with the chance of them dying. So, the only other option was to go out and force someone to be her training dummy.

Stepping out into Kirigakure, Tsuki walked around for a bit, looking for someone to test her power on. She eventually stepped into the city streets. It was raining at this time, and barely anyone was out and about. Tsuki pulled her hood up over her hat to further protect her hair. Instead of shorts this time, she wore sweatpants to keep her legs dry.
She strolled for a while, searching for anyone worth her strength. Eventually, while she was walking down some alleyway, she finally found someone worthy.
It were two people, actually. Two men, one with a hoodie and another with a rain jacket. From the look on their face, Tsuki could tell that these boys were merely school kids, probably a little older than her.
The minute she began walking to them, the boys walked to her. In their hands were a couple kunais, meaning that they were either ninjas or, they came across a very dangerous toy. It didn't matter to Tsuki either way, because she was still going to kill them for threatening her.
The one with the regular hoodie was the first to speak. "Ey girl," he said in a broken dialect. Just hearing him speak got on Tsuki's nerves. "You know it's pretty dangerous being out this late, and in this weather."
It was night time, so Tsuki could understand the boy's words of concern, but there was something in the male's voice that told her he wasn't really worried for her.
At first, Tsuki did not say anything. Impatiently the other boy in a rain jacket spoke up. "Oi girl, can you speak?" he said in a demanding tone.
"Witness the power of my eight trigrams," Tsuki said under her breath.
"What?" the rain jacket spoke. "Did you just say something?... Hey!"
He stepped forward to shove Tsuki's shoulder, which had to be the greatest mistake he ever made. When he touched her, she grabbed his arm and twisted it. Her byakugan activated, and she could see everything. All of her foes tenketsu were on display for her, and they were as clear as the stickers she used before.
She struck two points on the boys back arm. "Two palms," she said, and the boy screamed out in misery.
Behind her, the one in the hoodie saw her skills. He was impressed yet frightened at the same time. However, from the look he gave, he mostly seemed afraid for his friend. So, he decided to take action. Running forward, the boy in the hoodie tried to stab Tsuki in the back. However, with her eyes she could see this coming. She moved back and allowed the boy to continue his path. Instead of stabbing her in the back, he stabbed his friend. Once again, the boy in the hoodie released another painful howl.
Tsuki immediately sent two strike to the other boy. "Two palms!" she shouted again. Apparently, having your Tenketsu close resulted in some major pain, because he also howled in pain.
She focused her attention on the other boy, sending two strikes to his rib cage. "Four palms!" she cried, but continued, delivering 4 more strikes across his body. "Eight palms!"
The boy in the hoodie was quick to rebound while Tsuki focused on his friend. He stood and pulled out his kunai again. Without thinking, he raced towards Tsuki. She saw this and immediately retaliated. Dodging the kunai, she swiftly moved infront of the boy and delivered two strikes, no four, or eight. "Sixteen palms!" she shouted, delivering a total of 14 strikes.
By this time, each boy was terrified for their life. She had struck the one in the rain jacket in the leg, so he was unable to move properly. He had to crawl to get away from Tsuki, but she didn't mind for now. There wasn't anywhere he could go that Tsuki couldn't track.
She focused her attention on the other boy, ruthlessly sending him 16 more strikes. "Thirty-two palms!" she said as she continued her strike. Finally, when she got to the thirty-second strike, she forced her palm to hit his chest, sending him flying into the open street.
The boy laid down unconscious, and Tsuki turned her gaze on the other one... Who had managed to get away.
"Damn," she tsk'd. He had ran while she focused on the hoodie. She didn't think he could go that far, but it was hard for her byakugan to track him. He must've pushed himself to escape, probably very fearful of what she would do. She was very disappointed by that. However, one 64 palm technique was good enough for today. Tomorrow, though, was another story.
