Are we there yet?

24 Houred from Here
The journey to hoshi had been long and exhausting, running at the fastest possible pace that the weakest of the gennin could keep up with had set them back on time. The trip had taken several days, and left Komon longing for a bed. Thankfully near the end of the day Komon could make out the structure of the village, his byakugan being able to spot it long before any of the others could tell.
“Just a few more miles” He’d say over his shoulder as he pulled his bag up to put it into a more comfortable position.

It was only a few days, but It felt like they had been running for weeks. The young Genin had never run so fast for so long before in his life. His lunges long past the point of burning from exhaustion and over use. If he knew it would have been this much running involved Renji probably would have packed a lighter load. But there was no point in complaining at this point, plus the view made the pain from the heavy pack worth it.
A little while after Komon had said “just a few more miles”, Renji would begin to see the village as well through his byakugan. “finally I can put this bag down” he’d think to himself as he continues to do his best to stay with the group.

Komon sure wasn't kidding when he said this trip was talking forever. Since they had to travel at near civilian speeds everything seemed longer. Eventually after the second day Sakana got real tired of waking around so he got out his shinobi painter set and drew a hawk although it was meant for flying, it's walking speed was still faster than some of the gennin. Ever since, the Meijin had just laying on its back, staring up at the sky as Komon led the way. He was actually quite comfortable.

"Well this took a lot longer than I expected." Komori had begun more towards the rear of the troop but had eventually moved forward due to his better speed. He and Komon had been conversing about how much better looking Komori was than him. Anyways, the gates were in sight now so he pushed forward for the final stretch.

Kaori smiled as brightly as he had the entire journey, lifting his pack a little higher. Finally, being with Takumi seemed like an attainable goal, just on the other side of that village's gates. He moved faster than before, energy now fueled by the thoughts of seeing Takumi again. "Finally! I can see Takumi again!" he exclaimed as he looked at the others. While they seemed tired, he had never been more alive.

The village gates were in the distances as the young blonde genin made his way to the foreign village. The anticipation almost made the boy shudder. Would Hoshi allow all of them entry? It was easy to see such a large group of shinobi as an attack force, despite their good intentions. A bead of sweat could be seen sliding down the brow of Max. This must have been how Akihana felt coming to Kumo.
Max would continue walking, silent as a mouse. The rest of the group had seemed tired and weary from their travels, and the few words they did speak weren't things the boy would be able to add anything to.
Their journey was almost at an end.

He wanted to be ignored throughout the trek and he was indeed left alone. During the time, he was afforded the opportunity to think over a purpose for traveling to Hoshigakure aside from being able to eat the instant ramen that Yuri had brought home. It came to his attention that one effective way to distract himself from his helplessness and form his weakness actually stands within reach. This is having a friend.
"I could have talked to any of these people during the several days we took to get here. I could have made friends, I could have enjoyed some form of association. But that would have been forced. I don't particularly take a liking to anyone, not that I feel negatively towards them. I guess it comes down to my not knowing them..." Satoru sighs, knowing that his reasoning forces him to step out of his comfort zone sometime soon. "It would be healthy for me to get to know one or two people. Maybe in Hoshigakure, I'll find a friend?"
