The air here in Haven Country is fresh, more likable than even than Satoru's home village. Usually, nothing ever beats breathing the air in Amegakure because Satoru grew up there. The moist air is always comforting to be in. Somehow though, Satoru finds himself preferring this foreign country over the place of his birth. It is unusual but Hoshigakure is known for making people feel at home. Up until now, Satoru has not felt that way, he has missed Kumogakure and Amegakure. To him, Hoshi is no home. Is this the beginning of a change of heart?
Satoru stands at the side of a beaten trail, his back leaning against a tree. He waits for someone, a high-ranking member of Kumogakure. The letter he was sent held simple instructions. Satoru has been told to follow a certain path, wait at a certain location at a certain time. Here, himself and the other Kumo ninja will meet for the purpose of touring the land and understanding its geography. With this information and familiarity, defending their allies becomes much easier. Along with this, the occasion is a learning experience for Satoru as he is a genin accompanying a higher-ranking ninja. Surely, the experience of this chuunin or higher ninja will rub off on Satoru in some capacity.
It is morning, the sun is rising in the distance. The clouds have an orange tint to them and the sky a darker shade of the same color. As for the wind and its speed, they are weak. The leaves sway but the wind never gets very strong, no exceptional gusts move through the area. Temperatures are slowly rising as night is gradually illuminated. Soon, the sun will fully emerge and bathe the landscape in sunlight. Satoru knows from having traveled to this country that the sight is truly beautiful to see.
Some travelers have come through this path carrying goods upon a horse drawn cart. Satoru assumes that their destination is Hoshigakure in order to sell their goods at the city center there. Having done an amount of shopping himself in the city center, Satoru understands that there are a plethora of things to be purchased and many more customers ready to spend money. These people passing by will likely be prosperous, Satoru thinks. And that commerce irrigates the world economy. Hoshigakure's contribution to the world scene is evident by this fact. And so Satoru comes to like Hoshi a bit more. However, it still is not home, the home which Satoru misses.
"Where is this other ninja?" Satoru thinks, not that he is annoyed or tired of waiting. The scenery gets progressively more appealing as time goes on so waiting is no issue. Also, he values his alone time. But the letter sent to him states that the time of meeting was one which is not far from this current time. There is no silhouette in the distance. Of course, if this person is late, Satoru will be perfectly fine with this. After all, as was stated, Satoru enjoys alone time.

Senshi appeared behind Satoru, standing quietly as he watched the young Genin he had yet to interact with. It was the reason he had chosen him to accompany him on this random tour of Hoshigakure’s lands. He wondered when the Genin would notice his presence, he seemed rather preoccupied observing the landscape around them. However, it did not appear as though he was observing the landscape for the purposes of finding good defensive positions or ways to use it in a battle, but that he was simply enjoying the view. Senshi didn’t like this land, he missed Kumogakure and the odd scent associated with it.
The feel of the woods, and the cold and humidity that was associated with the area. As the time for the arrival point hit and the Genin had still not noticed the Genin standing thirteen meters behind him, Senshi finally decided it was time to alert him. Clearing his throat loudly, he waited for the Genin to react to his presence. When the Genin did see him, he would see the Jounin standing before him, arms cross over his Maku Cultist armor only allowing part of the red cloud on the front to be visable. His mask covering his face, he reached up removing it, for the moment before reaching into one of the pouches on his waist drawing forth a scroll. With a light toss towards the Genin he spoke.
“I checked in with the Hoshigakure mission office before heading out here, they had a C rank mission that needing to be completed and since we were already going to be in the area I decided to accept it. This will be an opportunity for you to possibly encounter some combat and earn some valuable mission experience.” Senshi paused in his speaking, realizing that he had assumed the Genin before him would know his name and who he was. Senshi after all knew the Genin’s name, but that was simply because he had a roster of every shinobi that was here in Hoshi with him. Withholding the sigh he wanted to release he decided it best to introduce himself. “Kobayashi Senshi, Jounin. What skills do you possess, specialty, and elements? It is best to get some training in while you have the chance, so I can use this as an opportunity to also teach you some basic things.”
With those words Senshi replaced the mask on his face motioning for Satoru to follow him. His chakra constantly pulsed as he searched for any hint of the missing person they were searching for. As they walked Senshi allowed a portion of his mind to wander towards a technique he had been meaning to learn. It required the use of a weapon, but it would allow him to send another person’s weapon flying away from him. It was a simple wind technique that he could infuse into his weapon and send out a gust of wind to disrupt the path of other weapons heading his way. It didn’t require any hand seals as it was all elemental manipulation within the weapon itself.
The Wind Release Vacuum Sword technique would allow him to further his wind abilities, while also affording him a decent defensive technique. He had several ideas for how to use the technique in other unique, and useful ways as well. He did not simply intend for it to be used to send incoming projectiles away from him. If he could boost his wind chakra enough he figured he would be able to do a few other things. While keeping an ear to whatever Satoru was saying as they walked, and a portion of his mind on his chakra sensing he began to convert his chakra to wind chakra. He focused the chakra into his right hand pulling one of his tanto’s out. A low whistling emitted from the tanto, and the breeze around the two increased slightly as he tried to focus on switching it from a cutting edge to the wild, blowing version of the wind chakra.
It was rather easy for him, since he had spent quite a bite of time just playing with his wind chakra, but as he pumped slightly more chakra into the technique it caused it to release more of a breeze around them. Senshi twirled the knife in his right hand causing the breeze to push out away from his body a few feet. It felt rather nice to the Jounin who was wearing heavy, hot armor. He restarted the technique in the knife, repeating the same thing he had done before. He was focusing on increasing the speed with which he could do this with.

"I guess this place can grow on me..." Satoru begins to whisper, forgetting that he is actually out here for a reason. This fact is brought back to mind when he hears from behind him a man clearing his throat in such a way that is meant to attract a person's attention. Satoru flinches by the smallest amount and turns his head to look over his shoulder without moving the rest of his body. The shock causes him to become more alert to his surroundings. When he sees the man standing behind him in the corner of his eyes, Satoru takes note of his mask first as it is the piece of his clothing which he is able to see most clearly. He quickly turns around from behind the tree and bows.
"You must be the jounin. I didn't notice you there." Satoru says as he stands straight. The man removes his mask and tosses Satoru a scroll which is caught and opened. He hears the man explain the change of plans and easily goes along with his words. After all, who is Satoru to reject an opportunity to learn from a jounin in combat? It seems as though his weakness will diminish quickly with all of the physical training he has been able to get done.
Satoru continues after this Senshi asks him about himself. "My name is Satoru Nara. My skills include... well, I'm pretty well learned in the physical sciences. You know, chemistry and the like. I currently specialize in ninjutsu and I am able to manifest wind release." Satoru hopes that his ramble about his skills does well enough to hide the fact that he does not have any real ninja-related skills. However, he does not spend much time thinking on it as the prospect of learning from a shinobi of jounin rank is an exciting one. "Sure, I'm ready to learn."
He follows Senshi in the direction he is walking.
