Loner Training with Someone? (IO, NK) Empty Loner Training with Someone? (IO, NK)

Tue Jul 25, 2017 8:01 pm
The day has been long and unfruitful. Satoru sat around in his motel room reading books for a while but no new information was gleamed from them. Training has been slow as well, no new jutsu being learnt and no progress being made. By now, Satoru is bored out of his mind. He does not have the money to purchase materials for chemical experiments and ninja work that pays has yet to be found. So Satoru has walked to these training grounds again in hopes of being progressive for his benefit. With determination, some new jutsu can be learned. Or, if a technique is not mastered today, a spar should sharpen Satoru's general physical capability.

By now, Satoru is willing to interact with anyone willing to spar. So he stands closer to the center of the training grounds in hopes that someone willing to interact with him will do so. As for what Satoru is doing at this time, he is tossing rocks into the air and throwing kunai to strike at them as they fall. Decent makeshift training.

Loner Training with Someone? (IO, NK) Empty Re: Loner Training with Someone? (IO, NK)

His days here were numbered and Nobunaga did not know whether that was a good thing. This was a strange and foreign land to him and its people even queerer. But it was nice, homely place and the alternative to this was Kumo, a cesspool of rot and filth. However, Maybe not with Maku in charge, with all of his elegance and flamboyant behaviour he'd clean to place up. Regardless of this however, Nobunaga's home had always been the desert and no place on earth could fill the home sick feeling he was currently feeling unless he was back in the desert. With his days here being few and Kyson busy dealing with Maku and the Hoshi higher ups, Nobunaga found himself yet again with nothing to do. With nothing on but a simple white under shirt that revealed his scarred flesh, black jogging pants and a weapon pouch on his waist, the bare foot brute of a man was calmly lying flat on his back on the lush green grass of the training grounds. Letting the sun beat down on his flesh, Nobunaga would continuously fall in and out of sleep while all around him he could hear, feel and sense other shinobi training. Both low rank and higher ranked shinobi were hear, training with one another, sparring and learning new techniques. All but one.

Nobunaga was able to sense a lone soul who was standing near other's who were training but he was simply standing alone. Still leaning on his back, Nobunaga would would turn his head over in the direction, his drowsy gaze falling upon a kid who was throwing rocks up into the air and hitting them with kunais. He was doing so alone but in proximity of others who were training. Perhaps he was trying to get their attention. Thats what it looked like from where Nobunaga lay. Watching the kid for a few moments the Hiyu would momentarily sigh. He was not the most social person and therefore was not someone who initiated interactions with others. However he had now spent days doing nothing. Although he enjoyed doing nothing, he was not in a situation where he could perhaps get some training in. Sitting up and crossing his legs over one another, Nobunaga would place both hands in between his crossed legs as he turned to face the unknown kid.

"Hey." Nobunaga would loudly grunt in his hoarse voice to catch the kids attention. If it worked and the kid turned to face him, Nobunaga would nudge his head indicating the kid to come over here. Once the kid did so, the Hiyu would calmly ask "Whats your name and where are you from kid?" Raising his left hand and rubbing the scar that ran along his face as he always did as sort of a tick, the Hiyu would listen to the kid's response. If he was looking for a training perhaps he may have just found one.

Satoru has thrown all of the kunai on his person and walks forward to retrieve them. As he picks them up from the ground, a voice captures his attention. The voice is course, sounding as though it belongs to someone who has been through much in this world. The simple "hey" causes Satoru to look over in the direction the voice came from. Its person of origin is a simply-dressed male who seems to be in his mid-twenties with black hair and a scar upon his face. He sits upon an area of the training grounds with grass beneath him, not looking to be doing any form of training.

The man's motions translate to wanting Satoru to walk closer to him and so he does this. Once within talking proximity of the man, Satoru listens to his question and gives an answer. "Satoru. I come from Kumogakure, arrived with the rest of the group from that village. Though I was born and raised in Amegakure." The last portion, Satoru is sure the man does not care about. He is ready to answer this man because he simply does not seem like the kind of ninja to be a member of Hoshigakure. If this conversation were between Satoru and a Hoshi ninja, Satoru would have answered in a minimalist fashion and tried to end the conversation.

Feeling as though he may have found a strong shinobi to talk to, Satoru inquires about this man's name. "And your name?"

Whether or not an answer is given, Satoru would continue. "You don't seem like you're from here."

Without hesitation the child turns his attention over to Nobunaga and came over to the Anbu as requested. Remaining seated with his legs crossed and hands placed upon his knees now, no longer scratching his facial scar; one of many the littered his flesh, the Hiyu would listen to the child's response. Another young one who was part of the Kumogakure forces that came over to Hoshi for the celebrations. Did children form the majority of Kumo's military might? Now being a part of Kumo himself, Nobunaga would have to look into that and find out why. It was odd that they had so many children. Or perhaps the older, higher ranking shinobi had remained back in Kumo for they were not required for the rank up celebrations.

The kid however was from Amegakure, a place Nobunaga knew little to nothing about and did not care for. Being someone who spoke little and asked even less, Nobunaga kept to himself and continued looking up at the child from his seated position. "Names Nobunaga Hiyu." Grunted the Anbu, giving a little nod of his head as a formal greeting. "I was born in the deserts of the Wind Country." Starting to answer the kids next statement which was really a question. "Became a shinobi of the former Sunagakure no Sato. Upon it's takeover my leader was forced to join the ranks of Kumo therefore I followed." Nobunaga saw no reason to lie to this kid therefore he told him the truth about being one of the few who had transferred to Kumo after their village take over, if thats what you could call it.

Nobunaga would however withhold the fact that he was part of Storm, Kumo's newly formed Anbu corps no thanks to Maku. One of his roles was to scout out potential recruits for the corps and of course had to start with Kumo shinobi. This kid was young and judging by the potency and amount of chakra he had, no where near ready to be an Anbu. But that did not mean he could not be groomed into one that Kyson could use. Judging by the fact that he was in a training ground it was safe to assume he wanted to train. "You must be a Genin? What are you proficient in and what do you seek to learn?"

The man emanates strength by his very demeanor. Satoru is not so much intimidated as he is in awe of this person's apparent experience as he tells of his origin in Wind Country. That place, Satoru knows, is a desert. While he prefers heat over cold, Satoru can not imagine living in such a dried up and searing landscape. Maybe Satoru has a problem with giving everyone he meets a great deal of respect but this Nobunaga fellow certainly deserves it.

He speaks of his past as a member of Sunagakure's military forces. Satoru's knowledge of Wind Country ends there, never having read about the place or its ninja village. What did those shinobi specialize in? How powerful was this village on the world scene? These questions are not asked because Satoru is cautious that some bias may be mixed in with Nobunaga's answer. So, he listens as Nobunaga continues to speak, asking his question.

"Yes, I'm a genin." Satoru answers. In his head, he knows that he can add the adjective "weak" before his rank. Satoru is not one to overestimate himself. However, he is one to, on occasion underestimate his ability. He continues to answer Nobunaga's second question. "Well, I'm a member of the Nara clan so I've learned the basic shadow imitation jutsu. If you aren't familiar with it, it allows me to extend my shadow to have it combine with the shadow of another person. Then, that person is forced to perform whatever actions I perform. It's useful, but I'm still developing it. Aside from that, my nature affinity is wind and I'm proficient in ninjutsu. I know it isn't much but I'm working on entering the weaponry field. And then, less importantly, I'm very proficient in chemistry. It isn't all that useful in ninja work though."

Having talked more than his share, Satoru quiets to allow Nobunaga to speak.

Nara? No, Nobunaga had never herd of such a clan. Clearly they were not native to Suna and there had been no district for them in the Sand Village. Therefore the Hiyu remained silent and listened to the kid explain what he could do thanks to his kekki genkai. A clan that could manipulate shadows was truly interesting, one would have flourished in a place like Suna where it was always sunny. A lot of shadows present. However perhaps they disliked the heat for it truly was unbearable in the Wind Country. Due to the fact that Nobunaga had never herd of the Nara clan, he knew no more of their clan than what Satoru had just informed him about and therefore did not have the slightest idea of how he could help this Genin train his Kekki Genaki. But the Genin did appear to be interested in something else that Nobunaga may be able to assist him with.

His nature affinity was wind, he was proficient in the use of Ninjutsu and wanted to learn Kenjutsu, the art of weaponry. Luckily for this child, Nobunaga also had an affinity for wind chakra and was skilled in the use of Ninjutsu and Kenjutsu. However Nobunaga was far more proficient in the use of lighting and earth jutsus. His wind chakra was the one he spent the lease amount of time honing and therefore the only jutsu he knew that used wind chakra was one that would also require knowledge on the use of weapons.

"I will be of little aid when it comes to your Kekki Genkai. I however am proficient in the use of blades." Still with his back perfectly straight, legs crossed and hands gently placed on his knees, the brute would continue "I can teach you Kenjutsu but it will be tough. Knowing that your base is Ninjutsu, it will take time to master another art." Nobunaga was keenly aware of this for he was skilled in three arts. Thanks to his own Kekki Genaki he was a natural when him came to Taijutsu however he spent a lot of dedicated hours into training and honing his Ninjutsu and Kenjutsu and therefore knew how difficult the process of mastering them were. Knowing that the kid was looking for some training to do, the Hiyu would propose "I can teach you the basic of Kenjutsu and a Ninjutsu to go along with it, if you are interested." With his usual stoic face, Nobunaga would gaze up at the standing Genin, his expressionless black eyes staring and waiting.

Satoru is eager to accept this offer from Nobunaga, knowing that this kind of chance does not come around often. Learning from a ninja this experienced is sure to yield great benefits. So, Satoru answers quickly. "I'm interested. But, I think stepping into weaponry is a bit far off from where I am now. I think mastering another fighting art can wait until some other time. You wouldn't happen to be able to manifest lightning release techniques, would you? Learning that is a closer goal than kenjutsu."

Nobunaga's verbal answer would not change Satoru following actions. He would take some steps back to allow Nobunaga space. The distance between the two of them will grow to five meters. Satoru watches intently, prepared for whatever this person has in mind to teach.

The Hiyu watched as the Nara started backing off after stating how he was not ready to learn how to use weapons just yet, which was understandable. Mastering the art of Kenjutsu was no simple feet, it was a much wiser decision for this kid to want to further his skills in what he was already proficient in. From his crossed legged seated position, Nobunaga would raise to his full height. While raising, Nobunaga would nod and said "Aye I am able to use lightning techniques." The 6ft4 brute would start wacking the back of his legs, dusting off the dirt on his pants from having been seated as he continued "You told me you were one with the affinity of wind. Thus before learning lighting techniques you must be able to manifest lightning chakra."

Crossing his massive arms, Nobunaga would start the lesson. "Lighting is not so different from wind in manifesting." In the wheel of elemental affinities, lighting and wind where right beside each other. Therefore despite being two drastically different elements, molding them was done in a similar manner. Luckily for this kid, Nobunaga had mastered both elements and would be able to guide him. "Lighting like wind is a powerful element. Strikes fast and hits hard. However lighting is far more erratic and unpredictable. You can lose control of it very quickly therefore one must be cautious when using it."

Unraveling his crossed arms, Nobunaga would reach behind him and pull a kunai out of the weapon pouch attached to the back of his waist. Twirling around his fingers before grabbing the handle, the Anbu would continue "Now, as you already know how to do first mold your chakra and place it into the kunai." This kid being a Genin, Nobunaga knew he was capable of such a feat. "Once that is done, try transforming the chakra into lightning chakra. Much like wind, focus on its swiftness and power yet remember its unpredictability." The kunai which he held would faintly glow with a blue aura, with light crackles of lighting bouncing off the metallic blade, to demonstrate what it should look like. "Try it."

Loner Training with Someone? (IO, NK) Empty Re: Loner Training with Someone? (IO, NK)

Tue Oct 24, 2017 10:30 pm
While the actions taken by Nobunaga are simple enough to emulate, Satoru still feels an awe out of watching a seasoned ninja more skilled than himself perform any technique. As Nobunaga stands, Satoru prepares himself to do whatever it is that is asked of him. The conversation has led to Satoru learning how to manifest chakra with a lightning nature transformation. In previous experiences, Satoru has found that training on his own has been sufficient for him to learn new techniques and concepts. This has happened so much that Satoru does prefer being alone to learning from another person. But, when offered this opportunity to grow through the instruction of an experienced ninja, he cannot deny that this is more favorable to going solo. So, he stands attentively.

Nobunaga proceeds to draw a kunai. It is held in his hand. He also explains what he is doing as he is doing it. Satoru absorbs every word, even drawing his own kunai and holding it in both of his hands. As told, Satoru gathers his chakra in his hands and lets it seep into the kunai between them. Then, he takes special note of Nobunaga's description of the difference between lightning chakra and wind chakra.

Knowing how to manifest wind nature chakra, Satoru actually does this first. The chakra is gathered in the kunai and Satoru knows it to be wind nature chakra because this is the nature transformation he has set up in his body. Next, he allows the chakra to disperse. With this done twice, Satoru looks towards the kunai in Nobunaga's hand. Some small snaps, crackles, and pops manifest from the metal surface of the weapon. This, Satoru understands, is the manifestation of lightning nature chakra.

That example in mind, Satoru looks back down at his own kunai. It is not lit with lightning chakra, but a simple knife. His chakra is flowed into it once more, flooded with wind chakra as he knows how to do. Then, keeping in mind that the difference between wind chakra and lightning chakra is the erratic nature of the latter. When manifesting wind chakra, Satoru identifies the fact that it flows predictably. Wind has a smooth current, a smooth direction. Electricity itself simply finds the path of least resistance, wherever that may lead it.

So, lightning is jaggedly moving. Both are fast, both are thin, both are sharp. Satoru adds these qualities to his chakra's nature. Then, before adding the simple flow of wind chakra, he stops himself. He makes an attempt to vibrate his chakra at a high frequency before allowing it to enter the kunai. The chakra is stored in his hands and is vibrated to the point that Satoru would not be sure that he is still shaking it. Only then is the chakra allowed to enter the kunai. And when it does, Satoru is surprised by the result. An aura of chakra erupts from the weapon and discharges otuward in all directions. The pulse is small and faint and quick. But what is important, what is surprising is what Satoru sees in the discharge as it disappears. Snaps, crackles, pops explode like minuscule fireworks. This sign that some form of lightning nature chakra has been manifested at least to a weak extent shows Satoru that he is making progress.

"Oh, wow..." He whispers, curiously. "Well, there was some lightning there. It was small but it existed at least for a short time. Sorry, it isn't much to show but a few more tries should let me get the hang of this exercise."

Loner Training with Someone? (IO, NK) Empty Re: Loner Training with Someone? (IO, NK)

"Good." Thought Nobunaga as he watched the kid pull out a kunai himself and follow the Hiyu's instructions. He was a good student. It was also best to follow along with an instructor instead of listening and waiting before performing the task at hand. By following and performing the actions along side Nobunaga that kid would definitely gain a mastery of the lighting element far faster. Twirling the lighting imbued kunai around his fingers the Anbu watched as Satoru moulded his wind chakra a couple of times, trying to get a handle of how it felt in order to grasp the differences between it and lighting. That was smart. Instead of trying to manifest lighting chakra right away, manifesting his wind element which was similiar in nature would allow him to fully grasp what wind chakra truly was. That way when he was ready to manifest lighting he would be able to note both the differences and similarities of the two.

Alas, on the kids first attempt to manifest lighting it worked but was uncontrolled. Sparks and flashes of tiny bolts sprang forth from his weapon held tightly in his hand. It was good for a first attempt, but not good enough for Nobunaga. With his usual stoic face Nobunaga would simply say "Again." His hard gaze locked on Satoru, the Hiyu would watch and wait for him to attempt and perform it perfectly. He already had an understanding of how to master it and based off of this first attempt he would very close to doing so.

Once Satoru inevitably performed the feat perfectly, which wouldnt have taken too long, the Hiyu would continue his less. "Good." Putting his kunai back into his weapon pouch he went on "Now that you have an affinity for lighting. It's time to take it to the next level." Although Nobunaga had mastered both ninjutsu and the use of lighting, ninjutsu wasnt actually his strong suit. Therefore he did not possesses many lighting jutsus within his arsenal. However, there were still a couple he could teach this kid to further his mastery over the lighting affinity. They were highly powerful ninjutsu, but nothing a Genin couldnt handle.

"To improve upon your new found mastery of Lighting you must learn some jutsus." Crossing his brutish arms along his chest once more, Nobunaga would continue "The jutsu I am about to show you is similiar to how you just manifested your lighting chakra within a kunai. However this time you'll be doing it on a much larger scale for you will manifest it across your entire body." With that said, Nobunaga's body would suddenly emit a faint bluish light. With the radiant glow flowing mere millimetres off of his muscular frame he continued "This is Lighting Javelin. A B ranked lighting jutsu which enhances both the users natural strength and speed." Clearing his throat, Nobunaga would keep the jutsu active in order for Satoru to see what it looked like and perhaps get a batter idea on how to activate it. "This will be far harder to achieve. Much like you did before, now you must mould and manifest your lighting chakra within yourself. Summon it in every fibre of your being. Your muscles, your ligament and tendons, your skin. Even your hair. Everywhere."

Learning this jutsu would truly test his control over the lighting element. Trying to both manifest, control and then keep a stable amount across their entire body was no easy feet. Too little and the jutsu would not work. Too much and the user could hurt themselves. The task here would be to first find the right amount perhaps in just their hand or arm and then try to perfectly disperse that exact amount throughout their entire body. However Nobunaga would not tell him that. A teacher could not tell their student everything, they must too learn themselves through trial and error.

651/2325

ooc: Actually, since Im teaching you, you only need half the words. So 1k for lighting affinity(which you've already reached) and now 1.5k for Lighting Javelin.
