The loner grabs a broom
Thu Feb 06, 2020 4:11 pm
E-Rank: Clean up that damn sand
As the loner was meditating along the shoreline, he couldn’t help but to feel as though he was being watched. He tried to ignore it for a few minutes, but the feeling continued to grow stronger and stronger. He finally opened his eyes reluctantly and said, “Must you interrupt my meditation?” Hamako would say as he stood to his feet. The man that was standing behind him held out an envelope without saying a word. The moment Hamako would take the envelope from the man, he would vanish in a poof of smoke.
Hamako just shrugged it off and opened the envelope. He pulled the slip of paper out of the envelope and read the contents. His mind pretty much shut off when he saw the task that he was given. The job that he was to perform was to remove the sand from the pathways around the village. He had just finished taking a man’s ability to use his left hand forever, and now he was going to be getting a job to sweep sand. The idea was ludicrous, but he didn’t mind. Money was money after all. Hamako folded the paper back up and placed it back into its envelope. He threw away the envelope as he began walking down the pathways, brushing all of the sand off of the pathways with a broom created with his wood release. The shaft and head were all solid wood and the brush part of the broom were tiny wooden fibers attached to the end.
He walked through the village, sweeping whatever areas needed to be swept. He marveled for a moment, the power that was the wood release that his clan had access to. It was a very strong and valuable power that he was more than happy to harness. He walked through the town and he brushed the last of the walkways before dispelling the broom that held in his hands. He placed the broom onto the ground, where it returned to the ground and faded away completely.
He actually began to enjoy himself, doing the deeds that were so basic and simple, simple enough to where anyone could do what he was doing. There was a lack of lasting consequences to the mission that he was completing that the interrogation certainly had. If he did a horrible job of sweeping the pathways and proved to be quite sloppy, then it wasn’t going to change the future of the village very much. But if he was sloppy with the interrogation with the prisoner within the Kage Estate, then he could accidentally take the man’s life or wouldn’t push him in the right direction that would lead him to giving him the information that he wanted to obtain out of him.
While he was lost in thought, he realized that he was being followed by yet another higher up, he called out to the loner, handing him another envelope.
