Kozurou expelled the chakra from his body, focusing on it as it vanished. He was in the middle of the training grounds, and the results of his past few experiments in both offensive and defensive functions had blasted a large scorch mark around him, and had caused the other trainees there to flee in terror. That was the good news. The bad news was that he wasn't having much success with the process at all. The chakra just wouldn't stick together like he wanted it to. Well, at least he was trying. He wove a couple of handseals and tried again, his body first flaring with a white aura, then the chakra that he generated within him being thrown out of his body.
He knew he was doing it right now, as he'd had several trial and error experiments throughout the morning. The chakra shot outwards, creating a shockwave. More or less, it's what he expected. What a waste of time... not. He'd come to the realization that it wasn't his own body that was betraying him, as he thought it might have been, but the fact that his soul still hadn't caught up yet. He wasn't powerful enough to completely link his chakra to this body, and he wasn't strong enough yet to fully control it with precision and finesse, which he needed at the moment.
So, there were two possible solutions, he thought to himself. Either he could stand here and attempt to raise his power level some more, or he could seek out a training partner... but who would train with him, now that he was stated by the kage to be too dangerous even for the blood games? He sighed. Maybe he should have hidden his power level instead of making an impression like he had. Now, those who had seen him there stayed away from him like the plague. How annoying... and how lonely. His body had begun to bother him again. There was a strange de-sync between it and his soul; an injury that he could only ignore when he was in the midst of intense training or combat. It had held him back until he'd reshaped his internal chakra network, but he could still feel it festering even now. How had it gotten there, and how could he fix it? Problems for another day, he decided, as he began to focus chakra once again.
Raising his hand, Kozurou thrust his palm forward. Despite his great strength, nothing really happened, but there was still hope. He needed something to work, some kind of taijutsu attack with... reach. Normal ninja of his age and stature were able to toss all kinds of fireballs and water bolts and projectiles, but he could only throw objects. Sure, his throws weren't exactly the worst (they were actually amazingly powerful), but he didn't have anything if he ran out of kunai. Well, he had his shockwave, but that was boooring. If he had to use Mystic Soul Star against any given opponent, then that just meant that he himself wasn't good enough.
Well, for now, he'd just have to focus on defense then. A legitimate barrier of sorts, powered by the stellar chakra that he gained during the jutsu that he used frequently. He needed more comprehension of these matters, but was he at another bottleneck? There was only one way to really find out. He put all of his mental effort into forming just a simple chakra shield, the deep portions of his forebrain buzzing with synaptic activity. His mind ran a few hundred calculations at once, slowing down while each slice of his cerebral cortex timeshared and ran a different pattern.
At last, he straightened up, a strange light in his eyes. He raised his hand, and a barrier formed around him, formed of hexagonal plates of energy. Hmm... hard to maintain, and not quite strong enough. He waved his hand and dismissed it. Still, it would form a fine base for him to work off of. With this, he could easily devise something that would shake the field of combat that he was on. He tried again, but realized that pentagons wouldn't work. They just didn't tesselate that well, did they?
So, he tried using barrier particles, each one a finely constructed bipolar particle with a specific spin. That seemed to do the trick, but it was so difficult to energize the particles that the barrier soon fell apart. Hmm... particles in a low energy state needed a nice packaged boost in power. But how was he to do something like that? Perhaps there was something in his arsenal that worked well with this kind of thing. He took a quick break, and grabbed a drink of water. Really, this work was mentally exhausting. Well, in the end, it would all be worth it.
Taking matters into his own hands, he picked a technique that he thought would be suitable for what he was trying to do here. The Yin healing wound destruction technique pre-emptively healed tissue and prevented damage from being dealt to the user. He fed the technique's specification into the barrier, and watched as it began to process it. Things were looking to be pretty good until he noticed that he couldn't cast the jutsu again. Was it "stuck" in the barrier? That was interesting. Either way, the barrier would be a good form of external protection.
