Since You've Been Gone (p)
Thu Aug 17, 2017 7:23 pm
It was a quiet morning in the village hidden in the leaves. Very early morning at that. The sun hadn’t even peaked it’s head over the horizon. The blonde girl wandered aimlessly, walking around the different districts. The Uchiha District, the shopping District, even the Hyuuga one where she had yet to step foot in. Even though she was a Hyuuga herself, the area seemed foreign to her. It wasn’t until a few years ago that she had learned of who she actually was, and thinking back on it, it still shocked her. She was desperate to learn more of her heritage, but it would have to be against her father’s knowledge. He was quite against it, and she wasn’t sure why. It’d something she’d have to get to the bottom of eventually though.
Queen wasn’t busy doing much these days. For the most part, she felt empty and without a purpose. For so long, her goal was to be the Best Taijutsu fighter the world had ever seen. Then she met Jace. While her goal remained unchanged, he had brought a spark to her that she didn’t know was possible; and now he was gone... She felt so loss without him. She never relied on anyone in her life but now, all she wanted was to have him back.
Unintentionally, The girl found herself at the training fields. The sun had just started to peak its bright heard, casting an orange hue light over the quiet village who was now beginning to awaken. She made her way to the spot where she frequently trained with her lover, a wooden dummy staring back at her. Memories flooded her mind of all the times she felt happy, trying to cling on to the emotion as if her life depended on it. Finally she snapped, sending a roundhouse kicked that knocked the holstered dummy a few yards out. She was angry. So very angry, and she didn’t know what to do with all this anger. She tried channelling it into her training, but even that didn’t feel like enough anymore. It just seemed like it would have to do though.

Over the past week or so, Risako had been trying her hand at a rather well kept village secret. In essence it was a pair of seals that allowed the user to instantaneously travel between the two. Pretty snazzy stuff. The start of her training was rather harsh as a side effect of the technique was an intense pain, however at this point her body was becoming used to it to the point that it didn't cripple her for a short while.
On this quiet morning, the Deputy Hokage stood in grassy patch of the training field. Beside her was a pile of kunai, and out in front of her were three training dummies. The dummies were in a triangle formation, with the closest one being a good ten meters away from Risako.
Four hours into her training, and the dummies were littered with replicas of the tool. Preparing three more kunai, she held a shaky hand over the handle of the first one, having second thoughts about continuing with her training for today.
However with no pesky little summons bothering her, she would continue to tread on. Grasping the handle and focusing her chakra, a seal would appear on the weapon. With a toss, it would fly into its target and the second it hit she would disappear, and reappear in a golden flash of light. The second she reappeared by the first dummy, there was hardly a moments pause before she lobbed the second kunai at the second dummy. Once again, rinse and repeat, from the second dummy she would toss another sealed kunai at the third and then teleport to it as well. This was to practice rapid teleportation.
From behind her, she heard a rather loud crack. This crack caught her attention, so she turned to look. Queen was busy wailing on some poor training dummy.

Queen had thought she was completely alone until the dummy she assaulted flew way past a young girl’s head that was maybe 10 meters out. The girl wasn’t one to get embarrassed, she simply stared right back at the girl who had turned her head to face the person who almost knocked her out by a large wooden figure...accidentally. The blonde studied her opposite’s face and features, the short onyx hair that fell to the girl’s shoulders. The silver hues that stared back at her, almost resembling that of the Hyuuga clans’. The features weren’t foreign to her, and Queen knew that she in fact knew this girl.
With a calm demeanour, and letting the frustration she felt slide to the rear of her persona, Queen walked up towards the girl known as Risako. The blonde had spent most of the last few months by herself, rarely ever talking to anyone. Maybe a little chit chatter and the presence of another could help her get her mind of things; even if the pleasantry of the company was questionable. “Hello Risako, Congratulations on becoming Kage Deputy, as well as your promotion to Jonin.” Queen stayed on top of a lot of thing, politics being one of them. And while the girl had been out on the arena with her when the two were promoted, she never really had the chance to congratulate her on it. Well, she had the chance, just didn’t care to.
The Yamano’s eyes wandered off the nearby dummies, all decorated with a single Kunai. Queen had been to distracted by her own thought to see the training she had been doing, so she came to the first conclusion and assumed it was some sort of weaponry training. “We never did get a chance to face off during the exams, did we?” Queen asked, walking past the girl towards one of the dummies that had a kunai pierced into it. She’d pull the projectile out as she waited for an answer, quickly noticing the seal the decorated the hilt. ‘Hell, I didn’t see you do much of anything in that fight’..... That’s what the girl wanted to say, but she let her lips stay closed as she waited for a response. She was trying the whole nice thing, embracing the kindness that her lover once had. She wouldn’t know how long it would last, but it was one way she tried to honor his memory.

She didn't flinch as the chunk of the dummy flew past her head. Risako and Queen locked eyes in the brief glance that the Deputy Hokage took to look at the source of the noise. Queen took the initiative of the two and approached Risako, whose hand shot up from her side to give the other girl a quick wave. In reply to the congratulation she was given, the jounin would say "Same to you."
Immediately stumbling backwards on her words, "Well minus the Deputy Kage bit. Congrats on the promotion nonetheless though." Way too formal. The other girl was a tad intimidating, even when she was being polite. Still, Risako hasn't moved, even when Queen retrieved one of the kunai. In a dull tone she would say, "Correct, the fight ended before it even got started really." Sounded a bit to her like there was potential for the two to take that opportunity here.
Risako recalled grabbing her opponent Royalty by the throat, using her enhanced speed from Sage Mode to ensure the success of her action. Maybe it was a tad much, but it netted her a promotion.

A feint smile crossed the girl’s lips as Risako had to backtrack to clear up her words. Of course, at this point in time, Queen’s back was facing Ris, so her smile was only known to herself, and the passing winds. “Thank you.” Queen said soundly, proceeding to have taken out the Kunai. While observing the projectile, Risako had replied to the girls question, confirming that the battle during the exams was short-lived. “That it was...” The Hyuuga had just begun to enjoy herself when the match was called to and end. It was unfortunate too since Queen had just been making her way towards Risako when the match had been called to an end.
“I still remember the day you proctored my Genin Exam...” The girl paused for a moment to let the sounds of the passing winds subside. The point of the Kunai pressed against her index finger softly as she spun it like a rotisserie chicken. “How times change.” The girl had been doing a lot of reminiscing lately. She was way to stuck in the past, and she needed to start focusing on the future.
“So let’s stop beating around the bush shall we?” The girl asked, throwing the Kunai back at the girl at a slow speed of 30 with the intent of the girl catching it. If by some idiotic freak move the girl didn’t, it would land right next to her rather than into her skin. “ We’re obviously both here for some training, so why not practice on each other and get that matchup that we never got?” The blonde proposed. Queen never left the house without having at least most of her gear, the only thing missing being her ninjato, so she was ready to go. If Ris agreed to the proposal, the blonde would grin. She needed something to get her mind off things, and maybe this would be it, even if it was just for a little while.

A small chuckle managed to escape Risako's mouth at the mention of Queen's genin exam. "I remember calling you disabled. Probably words I'll eat one day." Though there seemed to be a major change in personality for the girl opposite her, something about her seemed softer. Then came the challenge, both a proclamation and an action that involved her own sealed kunai.
Snatching the tool out of the air, Risako would oblige Queen to a duel. "I didn't mean I'd swallow my own words today," said the Deputy with an air of over confidence, "but sure, why not." Once she had confirmed her acceptance of the challenge, her arm reared back before launching forward to toss the kunai back to Queen, aimed roughly a half foot away from the right side of her head. The Sage did hold back on the throw, but just enough that her opponent could avoid it if it came to it. Risako was pretty well decked out in her regular Jounin attire, save for Mako's sword. Not that she'd need it for a friendly fight anyway.

Queen observed the short haired girl, who chucked at the mention of the genin examination from long ago. A soft smile appeared on the blonde's lips as Risako had mentioned how she though Queen had been disabled. A comment that once would have angered her had brought her some sense of laughter. All the anger she had felt recently... she was just so tired of being angry. She's reserve that anger to those who truly deserved it, not those who were her allies. There was just no point.
"At the time, maybe.." queen shockingly agreed before continuing "but now, far from it." Queen was pleased to see that Risako had accepted her challenge, she didn't say anything further, but she truly was about to make her swallow her words. Queen swiftly entered a martial arts stance as well as activated her byakugan stealthily using her skill. The practice match was officially underway.
Risako started it off, throwing the kunai right back at the Hyuuga. With swift movements, Queen reached into her kit, pulling out a projectile of her own. With a flick of her wrist, it launched at full speed in order to meet the other at the halfway point. Due to the strength behind it, it was able to knock Ris's off course, as it crashed into a nearby tree off to the right side while Queen's launched somewhere to the left. Right after she had launched the kunai, the Blonde rushed towards Ris, closing the 10 meter distance between them at a speed of 60.

She observed as her kunai was knocked off course by Queen's own kunai. Risako would follow up by tossing one of the other two kunai in her hand at the ground some distance in front of where Queen would be running. One exactly a meter away from Risako, the other three meters away. By the time this action was over, Queen would probably be around four meters away from Risako.
Once her opponent had passed over the first of the kunai, Risako would activate the seal on the one that was three meters away, and in a brilliant flash of yellow light she would disappear from her current location and reappear right behind Queen. Risako's hand would shoot out from her side, attempting to slam her fist into the girl's back.

With one projectile out of the way, Ris didn’t hesitate to shoot two more at the girl. With her Byakugan now activated, The blonde could clearly see that these other projectiles were also marked with the same seal as the one she plucked from the wooden dummy. She wasn’t sure what these seals did but she was certain she would find out soon enough since it surely had something to do with the Deputy’s training. Suddenly, Rei had wished she had paid attention to her training before engaging in this little fun but at the same time, where was the fun in that?
The blonde, now completely alert, swiftly dodged the incoming kunai by sidestepping away from it. Just as it had completely passed her, Queen’s eyes still locked on Ris until they weren’t no more. In a yellow flash of light, the girl vanished from that position, and reappeared right behind her; only known to the Hyuuga thanks to her Byakugan. Being able to place two and two together, Rei quickly assumed that it had something to do with those seals that were placed on the projectile.
Now the girl was in some sort of a pickle. She had the girl behind her about to make an attack, and the kunai in front of her ready to pierce her perfect skin. A smirked sprinkled her lips as she released chakra from every tenketsu point. This caused blast of energy to release before either the kunai or the punch could touch her, and blow the two things back. “That’s a neat little trick.” Queen mentioned.
Reaching into her pouch, she pulled out three smoke bombs and tossed them between the two in order to strip her opponent from her sight. This would cloud not only Queen, but Ris as well in smoke. With this done, Queen quickly formed a triad of hand seals in an attempt to perform the Genjutsu Choking technique. If done properly, the smoke bomb would have become a catalyst for her Gen and hopefully would have trapped Ris within it.

The kunai that Queen knocked away with her chakra would plant itself into the ground a short distance from its target. Risako would stumble backwards after the blast, and it seemed Queen would continue to run until she covered the previously stated ten meter distance.
Right after Queen complimented, or mocked, the Flying Thunder God technique, Risako would disappear into that golden burst once again. The kunai that Queen had knocked away earlier would still be in the opposite side of her. Just As Queen's hand entered her weapon pouch, Risako would reappear a good five feet behind the girl. Dashing forwards, she would attempt to reach out with her left hand and seize her opponent's arm, (the one in the pouch.) If successful the Fox Sage would follow up by grabbing the same arm with her free hand, and then flipping the woman onto the ground by yanking her over Risako's head.
