Genin Missions (nk p io) Empty Genin Missions (nk p io)

Wed Sep 20, 2017 1:40 am
Spoiler:

Tamaki had been assigned a few missions and was excited about the prospects of earning money and meeting people, he had been designated to wait the arrival of a fellow genin to begin the missions.
Tamaki was dressed in his black cloak and tucked his hands into his pockets as he waited, whistling would pass the time but was ultimately ineffective in dulling his boredom.
It was early morning and the sun was just starting to warm him, humidity clung in the air and despite his best efforts he could scarcely amuse himself.
A guard had ventured towards him and beckoned him closer, it would seem that the first mission was simply to observe the duties and the goings of this guard.
No combat, no odds, just simple observation.
That was not an issue to Tamaki as he started to admire the armor of the guard he thought he could he the approaching footsteps of someone else.
"I hope this doesn't take too long and take you from more important matters that need attending to elsewhere in the palace, sir?"
More or less to be polite the guard shrugged and simply started to inform Tamaki of his routes of patrol and listed a number of important and significant places around Hoshigakure; such as the palace, the gardens; with which Tamaki was already well acquainted with, and described the location of the country on the world map and it's otherwise religious past.

Revan strode into the hallway, throwing open the ornate golden double doors with a resounding boom as he walked towards the meeting point, a young boy in a dull black cloak; Revan's own crimson red cloak with a finely embroidered golden dragon billowed behind him in the wind as he made his way towards the boy and a man in fine golden armor. "So you're my contact I take it?" He said looking the man over as he took the measure of the man. "Well you at least know how to hold yourself, shall we get moving?" Revan said dismissively before turning to look at the other person here, a short young man who was no more striking than any of the commoners Revan passed in the streets, but such an appearance was certainly a blessing in the line of work that he was no doubt employed in. The queen's guard scowled at Revan's arrogant attitude for a moment but caught himself a moment later, giving Revan a curt nod before turning and striding down the halls to lead his two 'charges' through his daily duties.

Genin Missions (nk p io) Empty Re: Genin Missions (nk p io)

Tamaki turned his attention to the new arrival, he wore distinguished clothing and his temperament was eager, Tamaki regarded him uneasily; being new to the village had been otherwise monotonous, and this man seemed ready to change the ambience he had found.
Not alone, at least in these few duties prescribed to him, Tamaki took his hands out of his pockets and greeted Ren with an upraised open hand, "My name is Tamaki Fuyu."
The introduction, no more quaint than the man receiving it hung in the air patiently awaiting a challenge.
Not in any particular hurry, Tamaki's attitude was lax and distracted as he mumbled in reply to the man's bid to move on, "Guess we better."

There was a note of something significant in the air; the wind had an artifice that he knew would drag his hair every which way if it hadn't been secured by a hood, and it was unsurprisingly whipping the cloak of his new companion in a dramatic fashion.
Drawing his hands absentmindedly through the tangled mess of his ashen white hair, he flattened and twisted it all to no avail in what would become a pedantic brushing exercise in futility.
Superficiality of the young aside, Tamaki's hair would have to wait. The guard ushered forth in a broad stride carrying him deeper into the rich expanses of tapestries lining the walls featuring some of the more royal citizens of the holy city village, and as Tamaki broke into a casual line behind the guard he noticed the decadence and grandeur of the decorations swelled as time progressed.
His head swung lazily to the side to glance behind him to see as to whether the new man would follow or add anything new.

Genin Missions (nk p io) Empty Re: Genin Missions (nk p io)

Revan looked the boy up and down again as he gave his name, "Revan Uzumaki, commander of the Yukigakure army, or what remains of it" He said curtly before turning to follow the queen's guard who had already begun to leave. "So I take it we're going to be doing something more interesting than standing guard?" Revan said as he kept pace with the older warrior. The man merely grunted, "Indeed, we have a contact to meet at the Flying squid." Revan tilted his head at this, the flying squid was world-renowned as one of the most prestigious and high-quality restaurants in the word. "What that place?" Revan asked Incredulously as the group, assuming that the young boy had decided to follow them, "Why in the world are we going to that overrated piece of trash?" Revan asked with a frown.

Rather surprisingly the queen's guard let out a chuckle, "You misunderstand boy, we're not there to eat, we're there to pick up a package..." The man let the obvious implication that this was no mere delivery run hang in the air as they finally left the palace gates. Revan certainly had to marvel at the opulence of the palace, even its gates had an air about them that screamed of wealth, elegant and intricate carvings shaped from gold decorated them and not a sound was heard as the gates shut behind them. With a simple nod to the queen's guard, Revan would take point, striding a few meters in front of the group as they began their trip through the streets towards the main street where a giant squid sat floating in the sky, suspended in a ball of water that was held in place by a number of floating rings and barriers that kept the water and the creature trapped in place. The restaurant itself paid a rather hefty fee to keep a shinobi on retainer to ensure that the seals and devices that allowed for this aesthetically pleasing opulence remained in place; of course, this just gave Revan one more reason to dislike the Resturant,

Revan scowled as the orb of floating water came into view, "Honestly anyone with the talents to create something like that should be spending their time on something more productive, or at least something that benefited the village, If Yuki had had talents like that to spare on arrogant commercial projects like that then we never would have fallen." Revan grumbled as he finally came to stand in front of the building, turning to face his companions. "So... We're here what now?"

Genin Missions (nk p io) Empty Re: Genin Missions (nk p io)

D-rank description

Striking up conversation had revealed some formalities that resembled familiarity between the guard and Revan, this was not lost on Tamaki as the guard led on and explained that the mission would require further attendance.
Committing the name to memory he began past the gates of the city village, every cornice revealed a furnishment of every expected glory; how much money did it take to create this place, humbled Tamaki's poverty of thought.
Taking in the sights of the streets had not been high on Tamaki's priorities until the spectacle of the flying-squid robbed him of any allusion to the superficial nature of the richer nobles eccentric penchants.

Something of recollection passed as the aromatic fragrances of the kitchen set his stomach to roaring, he was hungry but the prospect of the menu's prices did not appetize Tamaki.
"Peace and plenty it seems."
Tamaki remarked to Revan before the question of why they had now come here as a part of their mission.
"I hear they make remarkable food here."
The enigmatic contact had yet to announce himself and though uncertain how long Tamaki would have to wait before sating his hunger he thought to himself of the unwarranted leisure of stealing a piece of bread to nibble on.

There was a brief pause before the guard raised a hand in recognition to what appeared to be a chef; his clothing suggested a gusto about him, and the culinary arts lingered in his brisk motions.
He leaned in close to the guard and whispered, "The Lavender Peacock... "
Before handing him a package then making his way back into the restaurant.

The guard looked the package over and handed it to Tamaki; a brown paper that sagged with a substantial weight, nothing giving away what is inside, only an address written in pencil.
The guard gave a brief mention of their task, " You are to deliver this to the address provided.
You are under no circumstance open the package.
You will present it with the password; The Lavender Peacock.
Is This understood?"

Tamaki nodded in affirmation and waited for his companion to respond, a task not quite befitting a commander but the rhetoric tone to the request was not simply an infringement of suitable duties; as shown by the flying squid's flying squid, to suitable parties but rather an expanse of necessary abundance to suit the richer than you.
This was a simple enough task and would earn Tamaki some money as well as an audience with the village leader, something he did not exactly covet as he lacked the empathy to broach a subject worthy of his or her time.

Genin Missions (nk p io) Empty Re: Genin Missions (nk p io)

Seeing no response worthy of retort; not out of anything other than particular disinterest Tamaki looked down at the writing, it was an address that held little meaning for him.
In response to this conundrum, he unfolded the map of the village he had received in the academy.
Noting in intervals places of interest his eye sight failed him in locating the aforementioned location, he tirelessly scrolled through the streets before thinking to ask the guard but as he looked back he saw no sight of the guard or the informant; only the late commander Revan, who seemed to be above this task in respect of his solemn stature.

Seeking no help from his companion as that would perhaps belittle his own station in this mission, Tamaki consigned to be more useful than just a delivery boy but even that would have to wait.
Time being of the essence, he more or less decided to walk in any particular direction and would seemingly lose himself in the crowd; if Revan did not follow, Tamaki called back the name of their destination before realizing the mistake, in open public he had just announced the location of where he was taking the secret ingredient.
Stealing away his own stupidity he swallowed pride and asked directions, not wanting to attract too much more attention to the mission he privately coerced the information from a younger civilian.

He began to make his way past the golden gates of Hoshigakure once more, retracing his steps had been easier than actually being granted the knowledge of where he was going.'
The air was growing fiercely and began to cast his hair flat on his face, brushing it aside he noticed to much alarm that he had managed to find himself lost within a bustling street.
Not caring or checking as to whether anyone was following him, it all seemed to have an automated life of it's own; like a river flowing endlessly, in different streams of action and inaction.
Their idiosyncrasies maligned in incoherent chatter, thousands of pitter patter footsteps and a long deluge of unfamiliar stimuli in a foreign nation all constituted to this humble feeling of being lost.
Finding nothing of anything vaguely helpful, he gleaned what little he could from a market stall trying to sell him some kind of food; the guard had been rather generous with an advancement of their ryo from the mission, and Tamaki greedily bought three sticks of various fruits and spiced meats before eating them, just as greedily.
Wiping his greasy hands on the package Tamaki slowly began to realize the solid-nature of the food had been sorely missed as his diet had consisted of very little, he even had enough left over to buy a cheap packet of cigarettes; ones he didn't like very much but they had a smell and taste of clove, which were an exciting misadventure for a youth to indulge in.

Lighting a cigarette with matches he had bought from a vendor, dispensing them as "Little Lucifers."
He began to drag a short breath on the cigarette, licking his lips before exhaling the warm smoke.
Having money was a fine enough luxury in a place like this and the wafting clouds drifting around his head were enough to part even the thicker parts of the crowds.
A jolly sensation beset itself in Tamaki's cranium as he closed his eyes to allow a sudden wave of light headiness to sink in, his muscles relaxed, was it always this nice to smoke?
The dry wind catching in his throat caught little surprise from himself as he belched the remaining smoke that he had swallowed out, much to the amusement of a young child; and the disdain of their adult accompaniment, she cooed, "Look mumma, dragon, dragon!"
Tamaki turned to see the pointing of the young child to be beyond him, further to the left.

He saw the flames engulf the building just as he registered the addresses of the houses beside him, there was already smoke billowing out the windows as Tamaki exclaimed, "And that's the building I'm looking for... I wish Revan were here."
More likely than not a stray jutsu from a nearby kitchen from a flamboyant and probably now embarrassed chef, hopefully the smoke in the air would attract someone as it was in the village's city center square.
Not wanting to fail the assignments given to them Tamaki sprung into action, doing what little he could to douse the flames.
He formed the monkey hand sign before projecting a small shot of water into the window of the burning building, it hissed as the flames began to eat the window sill.
This would require more water than Ou Tsuba, Tamaki thought to his distress.
There was only one other jutsu he could rely upon and that was Water Release: Water Trumpet Jutsu, he had only performed it once and that was in dire circumstances.
Dragon → Tiger → Hare
He began to mix the water in his stomach with chakra; kneading it into an expansive reserve, he placed one hand up to his mouth and summoned a powerful jet stream in the shape of a cone.
Tamaki swept the gushing water into the windows of the building, hearing a few scatterings of excited screams from inside the building.
He wished that he had assistance in getting people out of the tall building as he had barely even begun to get the fires under control.

A few people had managed to escape the inferno through the window, it quickly began to spread up the sides of the building and threatened to ignite the adjacent blocks of houses.
The nearby vicinity was on high alert and many civilians were offering their assistance in ways of buckets of water and evacuating nearby buildings.
Tamaki was at the helm of this tempest, the package forgotten in lieu of circumstances and it was at his displeasure that they may fail their mission.
A man dressed in purple robes stumbled out the front door and began to babble about something incoherent except for the crying of the words, "... The Lavender Peacock... help!"

Tamaki ceased his firefighting and grabbed the stumbling man by the front of the shirt, before thrusting the package into his hands and saying, "The Lavender Peacock... is your problem now buddy."
Tamaki more than anything waited for the caliber of assistance he could only afford in his wildest dreams, something he was barely scratching with the acquisition of the Water Trumpet Technique and something entirely different than the effort one man or woman could surely produce.
There were peoples lives at stake, and Tamaki was more or less alone in his struggles.

Genin Missions (nk p io) Empty Re: Genin Missions (nk p io)

Sat Sep 30, 2017 11:48 pm
The growing fire was the most prominent of his concerns; the package being forgotten, afixed to his back was the sole concern of his mission but the destination was now ablaze.
First he would have to jettison his precious cargo onto a bystander, he searched the crowds until his eyes met a peculiarly dressed man; bright purples and greens, offsetting the vibrancy of the moment's dazzling colours.
Tamaki rushed over to the man whom he had seen leaving the burning building and handed him the package with an over exaggerated wink before also garnering the odd words, "The Lavender Peacock."
Not knowing whether this would work or not, he was surprised to have the wink over zealously returned and the conspiracy was made pact, he had resolved his mission.
Tamaki watched as the Lavender Peacock left the fray, giving Tamaki enough time to consider his options.
First, he would have to evacuate the remaining person or persons still within the building.
Second, he would have to control the flames so as to not have it spread through the city's central square.

If it hadn't been such a difficult task to do alone he may of hesitated but seeing as how he had made it this far, he may as well do his best to curb the situation into a peaceful resolution.
Dragon Tiger Hare Tamaki's hands interlocked together and fluidly drifted from designation to designation, the jutsu slowly becoming a well-known chore; Water Release: Water Trumpet Jutsu!
He exclaimed as he busted the door in with a stream of water and doused the flames in his path, flooding the bottom floor of the building was easy and Tamaki waited patiently for the civilians; who were no longer trapped by the inferno, to drudge through the waters and out the door.
