Grand Tournament: Kinzoku Nazar vs Aryll Hyuuga

Aryll’s own chakra vision was more than sufficient to let her see through the flames. As always, she had a plan for this. Things were actually going swimmingly. She’d managed to force herself through the fire and the flames, her shield catching the fire that burned against it, pushing the rest out around it. Her burst of speed and strength had given her all she needed to force her way through the fires. As she emerged from the fire, coming into full view of Kinzoku for the first time, her shield of fire still absorbing his flames, she would watch as he leapt backwards, still spitting flames towards her.

As soon as he began his leap, before he could create his hand seal, Aryll would, with a sharp release of several fingers clenched into a loose fist, release the flames held by her shield, causing them to be sent back towards their owner, stopping the much smaller cone of flames that was being spat towards her as the 10 meter circle of flames flew towards Kinzoku. Those that were not stopped would continue on, threatening to burn the man’s legs and the top of his head. In his wood form, Aryll wasn’t sure the fire would do much to his head, but his legs were still vulnerable.

At the same time that she did this, Aryll would coerce Ludwig to move to flank Kinzoku, moving to the right and around the remaining fires, Ludwig now moving at a full sprint, in a smooth arc, 15 meters away from the flames at its widest point, that would allow the puppet to bypass Kinzoku’s flames, as well as the ones she had sent back at him, as the ones Aryll herself had sent back were actually moving slower than Ludwig was. This arc would give the puppet enough time to reach Kinzoku after the flames had already made contact, just as Kinzoku reached the highest point of his jump.

Ludwig would begin his swing as soon as the flames reached Kinzoku, whether or not they did damage. This time, the swing was calculated and would deliver exactly enough blunt force, using the dull side of his massive blade, to knock Kinzoku out cold. It would be delivered in a swift downward arc, sending him crashing theatrically into the ground, burned, crushed, and bruised, but alive, nonetheless.

The moment his feet left the main platform of the area, Kinzoku saw fire erupt from the shield of Aryll's robot. The fire formed around his own stream of fire and began heading into his direction. Unfortunately for the Nazar, his cone wasn't large enough to block the entirely of what was being shot back at him since the largest part was well behind Aryll now. So now only had the shield been blocking Kinzoku's jutsu, but it was holding it and waiting for it to be launched back. How devastating yet magnificent. Kinzoku's own stream of fire had gotten stronger than before thus it was capable of holding back some of the fire. Though it wasn't large enough to cover his entire body from the oncoming flames so he was going to have to improvise. 


Now hanging in the air on his way down to the second platform, Kinzoku tilted his head downwards ever so slightly changing the angle at which his Fire Annihilation was being shot at. In doing so Kinzoku's jutsu was pushing back and blocking the fires that would have scorched his lower body and legs. However doing so left his entire upper body vulnerable to the flames. His chest and upper body would likely survive the blast due to the increase in durability by turning it into wood. Although wood wasn't the best against fire but it would have to do. Now he needed to protect his face which wasn't going to be a problem either. As the fire approached Kinzoku placed his metal arm up and over his stream of fire and in front of his face, blocking it off with his forearm and palm. He also had to shifted his upper body to make sure his broken right arm was protected. 


The flames hit him in the chest and he instantly felt the searing heat of his own jutsu shot back at him even with his increased durability. His metal arm protected his face from the brunt of the flames though he could still feel the heat from the jutsu. His clothes however were not so lucky. His jacket, shirt and hat all turned to ash the moment the flames came into contact with it. But the assault didn't end there. His eye's shifted to his left as the massive puppet was now standing directly beside him, swinging that massive sword yet again. Being suspended in mid air Kinzoku's options had nearly run out. If this did not work, he was screwed. 


With the back of his hand blocking the flames trying to burn his face off, the Nazar adjusted his slightly pointed his thumb over to the Hyuuga. He was hoping with her Byakugan she would have no problem seeing it through the flames for it was the key to the genjutsu. If successful Kinzoku would tamper with Aryll's visual senses making seem as though Kinzoku used a wind jutsu to propel himself forward in an attempt to force her to adjust her swing. In actually Kinzoku would remain in the same position he had originally been in, in mid air. If it worked the massive sword would collide right into the Nazar outstretched hand blocking the flames instead of his entire body. The result would still send Kinzoku smashing down onto the ground forcing him to end the release of his own flames as well as knocking him away from the flames that had been shot back at him. If his arm had not been made of metal it would likely be in the same state his right arm were in. Though he could still feel as if it had nearly been pulled from his body.


Colliding onto the second platform left arm first he knew he had to act quick otherwise he was done for. The sword would no doubt have passed through the flames in the process of its swing and the Nazar was going to use that to his advantage. Now having control of the Hyuuga's senses, he would play with her mind making it seem as though the fires had engulfed his sword. Very rapidly the "fires" would move up her sword, up the sword arm and engulf the entire robot itself. Once this occurred the Nazar began heating up Aryll herself making it seem as though she were burning from the heated metal of her robot. Of course this was all in the Hyuuga's head. If it worked out Kinzoku would gingerly get back up to his feet and begin backed up away from Aryll and circling the second platform. Only if he managed to get out of range from the puppets massive sword range would he attempt to make it back on top of the main platform. Otherwise he'd keep his eyes on Aryll.

Huh. He had panache, she’d give him that. Raising his metal arm to shield his face, and slightly changing the direction of the fire he was currently using, he managed to mitigate damage to all but his torso, which was reinforced by whatever technique made him turn into wood. He even made a fucking thumbs up when he did it, the cheeky sonofabitch. Still, at the very least, she’d managed to burn his chest, the second injury Aryll had inflicted on her opponent. 2 and 0. As this attack landed, Aryll was already preparing to end it all right here and now.

The man was carried forward with a gust of wind as Aryll approached and as he did so, she reflected on how many god damned elements this guy had used in their fight. Wind, Fire, Steel, whatever mud was… Did that last one even count?

Ugh.

Anyways, Aryll would of course adjust her weapon’s course to collide with what she thought was the man’s head, but was, in reality, his arm. A resounding, metallic clang would sound through the arena as the blow forced the boy to the ground. Because the strike had been delivered to concuss him via a blow to the head, the damage would be minimal, although that landing would definitely hurt.

Using the momentum of their collision, Ludwig would draw his blade back in an arcing motion, up around what would be his head, and held high for a follow-up slash. It was about this time that Aryll would notice her blade starting to catch fire, spreading down the blade and towards Ludwig’s cockpit. Aryll could feel the immense heat nearing her quickly, and sighed.

”Steel doesn’t burn.” The engineer grumbled.

And like any anime protag who just discovered a plot twist, Aryll flashed back to a previous event, noting that his thumbs up had been terribly awkward and actually pointed towards her, despite the oddity of doing so at that angle. The reason was obvious. This was a genjutsu.

A quick flush of her chakra system later, and Aryll was no longer on fire. She was, however, still moving very quickly towards this man, laying on the ground. She could have just trampled him and that would be that, but she didn’t want to accidentally crush him to death under Ludwig’s weight. Thankfully, the reach of her weapon was so long that she still had time to fit another swing in if she cut it close. The blade, which had been held high, would continue backwards, rotating in a full rotation that would result in an uppercut, aimed for the man’s midsection. He was currently on the ground, or at least, beginning to pull himself to his feet, but this would be a bit of a difficult thing to dodge without compromising his position.

Once again, the blade ripped through the concrete, strategically targeted at the man’s midsection, with plenty of force to send him flying into the air once more. She didn’t pull her punch very much this time, because she knew he could take this blow. If for some reason he maneuvered something else into the path of the blade, she’d make sure to hold back a little more and not eviscerate him. If this didn’t knock him out cold, Aryll had a real showstopper in store.

Kinzoku was watching the giant machine beside him closely as he felt his grasp on the genjutsu dissipate which meant the Hyuuga figured out the genjutsu and canceled it. He wasn't much surprised that she figured it out nor did he expect it to last very long. He was just hoping it had given him enough time to create some distance. But he hadn't even had the time to properly get back up onto his feet before then genjutsu was dispelled. She was skilled without a doubt. If Kiri's ranks were all filled with ninja as skilled as this Hyuuga it was no wonder they lost the war so easily. Though the time for praising was not now. Now, Kinzoku needed to focus on the fight otherwise he was going to come out of here with more than just a broken arm.

The hit to his chest by the flames took a toll on his body, especially since he had partially transformed into wood which only increased the impact of the fire. He felt both slightly weaker and slower. But he could still read the movements of Aryll's puppet relatively well as he watched the sword arm maneuver as though it were double jointed. Yet another good idea Kinzoku could add to his own inventions. For another time. Focus.

Now being on one knee since he wasn't given the time to get up, Kinzoku slipped his left hand into the seal of confrontation yet again followed by a Tiger seal before the puppet finished it's full rotation, possibly as it's sword entered the flooring of the platform again. Upon completion white feathers would begin falling from all around both Aryll and Kinzoku as they swayed back and forth tumbling to the arena 20 meters around both of them. The genjutsu would take effect the moment Aryll's eyes came into contact with the feathers, and being a Hyuuga meant she would likely notice them right away. At that instant she would begin feeling drowsy, likely slowing down her rotating swing or even coming to a full stop. Just in case, as it slowed down Kinzoku would push back a number of steps to avoid the initial path of the swing.

Knowing Aryll was clearly an experience fighter, he knew there was the possibility that she knew of this genjutsu and may be able to dispel it's effects before she went night night. As he took his precautionary steps back, he retrieved Peacemaker from its straps as it's "wings" opened up. Pointing it towards the robot as he began walking back and away from it creating a small distance, he let loose a first bolt. The bolt was aimed at the elbow of the sword arm meant to cripple it and prevent the use of the sword. He pulled the hammer back as the draw string pulled with it and let loose a second bolt aimed at the same spot, just in case the first wasn't enough to prevent further use of the sword arm.

Unfortunately for Kinzoku, his genjutsu did not act fast enough. The feathers would fly freely through the air, placing Aryll under their hypnotic spell, but Ludwig had already begun the killing blow. The weapon would move in a smooth arc through the concrete, ripping it to shreds and sending bits of rubble flying everywhere as the uppercut sent Kinzoku flying up into the air. That would be the final blow, so Aryll believed, at least. Ludwig’s blade would continue moving in an upwards arc after making contact with the man’s chest, spinning back around in another rotation, ending with the blade coming to a rest upon the hard ground with a loud thud that shook the ground around Aryll.

As this happened, Aryll became aware of the drowsiness that was overtaking her. Strange, given that she had hardly broken a sweat, but that cluster of feathers seemed to be the source of this feeling, and it was highly probable that this had been a last ditch effort of the genjutsu user that was her opponent. Just for safe measure, Aryll used the genjutsu release one last time, and sure enough, she was wide awake.

Should her opponent be rendered pacified, Ludwig would raise his blade once more, pressing a hand upon the dull point of the tip, retracting the blade to its smallest size, and placing it safely upon his back. After ensuring that care was indeed coming for him, Ludwig’s hatch would open, revealing Aryll’s face once more, still boredly controlling the puppet.

”I did warn you.” She’d sigh, the puppet carrying her out of the arena and back to her home.

It seemed Kinzoku's genjutsu hadn't worked out as planned. Whether it had worked at all was unknown to the Nazar for he couldn't see the effects of it on the Hyuuga. Not only that, but the rotating sword arm had not stopped. It hadn't even slowed down at all. He watched as the sword cut through the flooring once again, being able to read and perceive its movement but being unable to react in time. The hit he took to the chest from the fire sent back at him had also taken it's toll on the Konoha ninja, making him slower than he already had been. All he could do was watch the sword swoop in and brace for it to the best of his capabilities. 

The sword collided with the entirety of his left side due to its size. He tried bracing with his metal left arm hoping it would dull out some of the pain, but it hadn't really done much. The Nazar was sent high into the air. How high he could not say for he had been knocked out on impact causing his body to rise and fall like a rag doll. By the time he made it back to the ground it was clear he lost the fight. Aryll's words fell on deaf ears as Kinzoku laid there motionless. It was only a matter of time before medics retrieved his body and brought him into intensive care. With the condition his right arm had been in as well as his ribs from the last hit, the Nazar would likely be in intensive care for a number of days. He was lucky to come out alive.
