Time to hit the books (IO/NK, Kot, Sanae, Tamaki) - Page 2 Empty Re: Time to hit the books (IO/NK, Kot, Sanae, Tamaki)

Thu Dec 14, 2017 6:43 pm
Tamaki nodded before going back to the books on the shelf, browsing through them he managed to find another scroll labeled Kumogakure.
It was rather large so he hefted it down onto his knees, leaning back he took the weight of it before putting it down on a table.
After reading it he gave a summary for his team mates,
"It was a weathered tome that was dedicated to the infrastructure of the land, it didn't say much but it confirmed the forest of white veined trees hidden amongst the mountainous terrain.
There were a number of rivers that coursed through the mountains that ran in to the ocean, knowing something like this they could probably withstand a siege for a long period of time as they had plenty of water.
Known storms plagued the lands, whipping through the stone and carving paths for the intrigued traveler.
Hindering the path were any number of things ranging from lightning bolts to terrible winds that threatened to throw one into a chasm.
The land was a rocky outcrop and what little more the scroll did not say, it was supremely unhelpful other than confirming some of our ideas on it. "
Tamaki put the scroll back on the wall slowly and carefully so as to not disrupt anything further with his clumsiness.

He spoke in a hushed tone, the librarian hardly noticed but still reinforced a firm and solid finger to the lip contrary.
Tamaki sighed before referencing a funny face behind the librarian's turned back.
Sanae's touch soothed him but did little for the ache in the back of his head, he had almost forgotten it had happened.
She was very kind to devote herself to others the way she did but Tamaki could only wonder what had made her that way more than anyone else.
Before finally deciding on a reason his attention was taken elsewhere by the map she had been drawing.
It was an accurate depiction of the land as had been summarized by the scroll, rock country was all but vacant now and if they decided to plan a trip to Kumogakure it wouldn't be too difficult.
Long and ago he sensed that this task was quite difficult for the genin of the village; when there was little or no information here in the library.
But Tamaki could scarcely imagine what other village's would make their genin do for the chuunin exams.
He was drawing blanks as to what to research next before a peculiar book took his eye.
It was labeled, "Dragons Of Kumogakure: A Fiction. "
He took it down from the shelf and opened the grimoire like book, turning through the illustrated pages of dragons on the first few pages meant for children Tamaki finally managed to illicit from the novella an interesting notion of fact.

"There was a cave shaped like a dragon's head that was rumored to go somewhere else somewhere near the village.
Rumors say there were dragons in the cave but no one has proven it to be true, that sounds interesting even if it is just rubbish.
Maybe a back way into the village perhaps carved into the mountain?"
He secretly wondered if Haven city hosted any such places where could be found mythical creatures such as dragons or spirits but dismissed the notion as a childish fantasy born from reading the nonsense title.
This mission was brutally no nonsense, it was trenched in cold hard facts and every fact earned was some how another step closer to the village in question.
It kind of dismayed Tamaki that a compendium would magically encompass all they needed to know in these halls.
Perhaps some one had done this mission before and left clues?
For now Tamaki could not say what he would find more than pictures of mountains and storms.
He turned to Shouhei and shrugged before speaking, "Any luck new guy?"
Before turning to Kotetsu and saying the same proliferating a semblance of hopelessness in his own efforts.
Sitting back down he felt his head seem to split open, his headache was blinding and he needed to catch his breath.
"Sanae, can you treat a concussion?"
He would say as he felt uncertain as to whether he could maintain his equilibrium and balance.
Clutching at the table he closed his eyes a second time and felt sleepy.
Dazed and confused he unhappily groaned from where he was sitting getting the librarians attention and fury.
He measured the lady uneasily and despite his growing concerns for his health he quietly raised his thumb as reassurance.
His symptoms relented and he was given a few moments of clarity, he was feeling ill and disquieted but he would be okay for now.
Done reading for today Tamaki slumped in his seat and rested his head on the table for a moment.
Fearing sleep he just lay there with his eyes open as he rested his head on a book with a leather cover.
Not comfortable but sufficing Tamaki paused to let the world turn and briefly leave him behind.

Time to hit the books (IO/NK, Kot, Sanae, Tamaki) - Page 2 Empty Re: Time to hit the books (IO/NK, Kot, Sanae, Tamaki)

Sat Dec 16, 2017 12:32 am
Shouhei raised his eyebrow. First because he was surprised how little Kotetsu acted like his age; although it was also funny to hear his young voice conflicting with and perhaps even betrayed the leader like tone he was going for. Secondly how easy he gave up on his idea. “Take it easy, bucko.” Shouhei replied his tone sounded like he had done this one thousand times. “I know those two people in person, and wouldn’t have suggested them if I didn’t know that neither of them are the types to go quietly into the night. If anything I can possibly find something not written by them but with their names on it somewhere that is related to the subject.” Then Sanae chimed in and Shouhei replied to her with a smile. “Well that would have been nice and all but I never suggested interviewing any Kumo shinobi, but you are welcome to go with your idea though if you feel like it.”

Shouhei stood up with a friendly glint in his eyes. “In any event, I will find you guys something somewhere in these achieves.” Before leaving the table he looked at Tamaki. “Thank you again for the apple, mate.” He smiled then left the table to go out to find something to add to the report.

On his way to the librarians’ desk he dropped the leftover apple core into a garbage bin, his steps having long and quiet strides to them. His arms crossed over his torso he stood there at the desk waiting until a middle aged man came by. The middle aged man was very average, brown haired and with dark eyes, his facial features sharp and with a raven hooked nose.

“Anything I can help you with?” The man had your standard male voice that Shouhei would describe as balanced. Well I guess it wasn’t average then.

“Yes I am looking for something…you know what let me write it down.” Which Shouhei did, taking a pen and notepad from his weapon pouch then wrote down the writing from the people he was looking for and the subject it concerned. Old mister cloud and the ginger giant he had meet a couple of times.

As they went from achieve to achieve, Shouhei was quiet with his hands in his pocket and kept himself a handful feet away from the librarian. “Looks like we won’t be able to find much from them.” The librarian noted about ten minutes later, but then his body language suddenly changed as he pulled out a file a few cases over. “Well this is not written by Kyousuke Snow, but by an individual called Xuba who had written a testimony for him.” He looked over some of the finer details of the stamps on the paper before handing it to Shouhei. “It’s not classified but it’s a reference document so you’re not allowed to take it off the premise. Is that understood?” The man perhaps addressed Shouhei like he was a kid, but he kind was and he looked like a wild ginger top in spite of his calm demeanor so he wouldn’t really take it against him. “Of course, sir. I will keep it guarded like a treasure.” Shouhei replied to the man as he moved his hands up to accept the folder then went on his merry way back towards the group.

When he came back to the group a voice meet him. It was from the apple guy. “Yes, I found a testimony from a…” Shouhei looked at the folder again. “…a traveler and mercenary who have been a lot of places but especially kumo. It seems to be related to their local defenses and a bit about the ‘troop’ movement of the village.”

When Tamaki asked Sanae if she could deal with a concussion just afterwards, Shouhei placed the folder of the testimony down on the group table and walked over to Takami. “I’m a trained medical ninja. A yes and I will remove it in a second. Well I figure it would be a second seeing as you have been reading for this long without spilling any of your guts.” If he got the permission he would form the Ox and Tiger sign to trigger the Mystical Palm Technique causing chakra to appear on his hands which he would then apply to Takami’s head. Not only would it heal his concussion in a minute or two, it would also recover any lost chakra and or energy.

Time to hit the books (IO/NK, Kot, Sanae, Tamaki) - Page 2 Empty Re: Time to hit the books (IO/NK, Kot, Sanae, Tamaki)

Sat Dec 16, 2017 1:25 am
'...Bucko?..' Kotetsu thought with twinge of annoyance as the orange-haired Genin spoke up in response to his comments. Kotetsu shrugged. "I merely said that it's possible that such mission reports would be above our clearance to access. If you can find something that we can use, great, and I'll add it to the report. If we can't find anything, we'll just make educated guesses based on the information we were  able to acquire." Shouhei then made a comment to Sanae about her remarks, with which Kotetsu experienced another twinge of annoyance. This other Genin was not someone that Kotetsu could see himself getting along with. 'It's almost like he doesn't think a kid like me can lead...' Kotetsu thought to himself as the Orange haired shinobi got up from his seat. After Shouhei left the table to go look for those reports, Kotetsu started compiling the information they had already gathered into the standard report format.

It looked like Sanae had finished compiling information on the Land of Lightning, so that's where Kotetsu started, putting all the details that Sanae provided in an order that provided the most logical flow for the details and how they would potentially help should Hoshigakure work on trade talks with the village hidden in the clouds. Tamaki was next to complete his information, which was on the village and it's immediate geography, compared to the land of lightning as a whole. Since that was related to the previous topic, Kotetsu would add in the information immediately after Sanae's contributions. Shouhei was still collecting information so Kotetsu went over his own notes to make sure they were ordered properly for him to put them in the report. He wanted to put his last, because it made sense to put them after the personnel report that Shouhei was going to acquire details for. As soon as Kotetsu had finished, Shouhei had returned. It looked like he had found at least one report related to Kumogakure so Kotetsu would read over the report as well, and include the details including any other notes that Shouhei had made and incorporated them after the information Tamaki provided, followed by his own information. With everything all in order Kotetsu added some observations based on their findings and left the almost completed report on the table. "I believe that the report is just about ready to hand into the Hogokage. If any of you want to look over what we have and add anything else to it, feel free." If anyone wanted to add more to it, Kotetsu would wait until everyone had inspected it and added their own notes. If no one else had anything to add, he would put the report in a folder, saying "I'll deliver the report to the Hogokage's office now. Good work everyone. I'm glad that we all worked together to get this done."

With that, Kotetsu would pick up the report from the table and make his way out of the library towards the Hogokage's office.

Time to hit the books (IO/NK, Kot, Sanae, Tamaki) - Page 2 Empty Re: Time to hit the books (IO/NK, Kot, Sanae, Tamaki)

Sat Dec 16, 2017 2:20 am
Sanae looked at Shouhei and blinked. Did this need a reply or was he deliberately making fun of her sarcasm. Clearly she had not planned on dragging an actual Kumo into this. Talking to him felt kind of like he was above them, but not the good kind. When he addressed Kotetsu she had almost spoken but other than him she could distinguish the child that Kotetsu was from the Shinobi he had become. If something about what the other one said bothered him, he would speak up. He did not need her help to do so. Still she could not really put her finger on it but something was turning her guts about it all. She left it at that with an eye roll and turned back to what she was doing. While so she would not stop to listen into what Tamaki would read every so often about different stuff in Kumo, because it surly sounded interesting and also she was kind of observing his state of health that worried her. He had be very pale and sometimes seemed dizzy and shivery. She did not know him like that at all. To be fair one did not simply do a Chuunin exam every day. So his exhaustion was kind of justified.

When she reached her finish she looked at him even more worried. He had sat back and rang for air. She would pull her chair closer to his and gently touch his face with her cold hands. Shaking her head she sighed. He had been in no condition to do this, what he endured in the arena surly needed more time to heal than just an afternoon in the hospital. She almost wanted to scold him for still coming here although he felt sick. But who was she to do so? Just as she thought about it he asked a question towards her. Could she heal a concussion? Unfortunately no, she was not really that good of a medic since well Taijutsu was her first priority. So she was getting ready to tell him that she could not do that as she was interrupted by someone who as it seemed had also the name Sanae.

Sure he worked in the hospital, he was a medic and maybe Sanae would have turned to ask him for help but now she was just swallowing anything she could have said to him as Kotetsu was collecting the papers and Tamaki go the healing he needed so badly. After that she smiled bitter at Shouhei: "How of luck for us to have you and how fortunate for us to share names, don't you think so Sanae?", she could not help the dripping sarcasm but tried to dull it down as she turned towards Tamaki: "But indeed I am not able to do that and I would advise you to maybe rest for today?", she tilted her head at him, "I would even take you home", with that she would turn to everyone, "Thanks for your hard work everyone", although by now it seemed as if whatever work she had done was practically irrelevant, if he was so well informed, why hadn't he done it before, well who knew. Depending on Tamaki Sanae would either put back the books he and her collected and leave with him or leave alone.

Time to hit the books (IO/NK, Kot, Sanae, Tamaki) - Page 2 Empty Re: Time to hit the books (IO/NK, Kot, Sanae, Tamaki)

Sat Dec 16, 2017 8:48 pm
It would appear that Tamaki allowed himself to be healed, so Shouhei did that for him making sure that he could conquered the world afterwards without fearing the effect of the concussion. Tamaki didn’t seem to say much but that didn’t really matter, and Shouhei wasn’t a hair dresser so he didn’t prompt any out of him. Now the woman Tamaki had asked for help and who had nursed him in a very unhelpful way when Tamaki most likely needed a medical professional started to talk to him with a bitter smile and some sarcasm. Shouhei gave her a proper smile back and replied with a tone of sarcasm that mirrored hers. “You’re right. It feels so awesome to be Sanae.” Shouhei turned his vision back towards Tamaki. “Sanae is right though. You should take the day off with no moving pictures just to be sure.”

Now that was over with (he hope?), Shouhei took up Kotetsu on the offer to read through the report. It didn’t take Shouhei long, mostly because he took some shortcuts here and there, but he smiled when he was done. “Yeah I can sign my name on this. You guys did a good job with what we had access to of books and journals.” His reply was genuine, and in spite of whatever spat he might have had with Kotetsu and Sanae. If anything his tone sounded professional like he had forgotten any of it. Well he hadn’t but it wasn’t important for this so he ignored any thoughts that might have sprung up. Anyhow, with those words out of the way he handed the report back to Kotetsu with a nod.

Shouhei took his leave waving to whoever hadn’t left already. However, before he did so he walked over to the librarian to return the testimony he had borrowed. With that, he left the library and set his destination towards home. As for what he wanted to do while he waited to hear the news, he wasn’t sure of but thought he would figure out on the way.
