Higuto Saves the Boy (Mission)
Tue Dec 19, 2017 11:37 pm
Higuto was walking along the streets of Konoha once more as he watched the sky turn gray with clouds in the sky and rain fast approaching. He had felt the air turning humid and the wind picking up the pace with gusts as leaves in trees were moving about frantically and chaotically. To Higuto the weather made the day even more perfectly worse than it already was as today was mission day for him. He was tasked with the mission of helping a young boy who had trapped himself up a tree and was unable to get down. He knew the poor boy had to be scared and terrified and Higuto felt it only right to help where he could. He had been warned that the tree was home to a nest of hornets which was why most people were afraid to help and he knew he was the right person for the job.
He walked over to the tree that was stated in the mission debrief as he could hear the calls of the child screaming for help. He rushed over to the tree and looked up to see the child holding on to the trunk while scared of the buzzing of the hornets. He could see their nest below the boy as they were agitated from the wind of the oncoming storm and some would fly near the child as he whimpered and tried to climb higher away. Higuto watched the hornets as he looked up to the child. "Don't worry! I'll get you down soon! Just don't make any sudden movements or they'll attack!" The child understood as Higuto thought of the situation and the best way to go about completing his task. The hornets weren't going to be a problem but he felt that the best way of going about rescuing the child as well as protecting others of the village would be to safely move the nest and cause the hornets to move house as well. He brought his hands up as he started to form the Ram hand seal.
He placed his palm on the tree as a web of chakra formed from his fingers up the trunk and drew the hornets away from their nest. They flew around the thread as Higuto thought of what next to do. If he released the thread the Hornets would fly back and protect their nest once more so he needed to come up with a way to move the nest quickly and safely. He also had to make certain that no strays would fly up to the boy and harm him, possibly causing him to fall out the tree and becoming even more hurt or worse, as he many thoughts crossed his mind. An idea popped into his mind as he smiled and waited until all the hornets in the nest came down to meet the others around the chakra web before allowing a few of his insects to fly out of him and up to the nest.
Higuto kept his hold of the hornets as they flew and landed calmly near the web of chakra as he directed his insects to slowly bite into the stems of the nest that were pinning it to the tree. He watched as the child was watching the event take place in fear, thinking Higuto was about to be stung, as the insects continued to chew amongst the stems of the nest. "Don't worry. I have a way with insects. If you want you could call me a insect whisperer corny as that may sound. They won't harm me or you I promise." Higuto's insects continued to chew as Higuto knew it might take a bit of time and he hoped that the child could remain calm enough to not disturb the tree and therefore disturb the jutsu and cause the hornets to scramble.
After a short while, the child holding on to the trunk of the tree, Higuto felt his insects cheer softly as the stems snapped and the nest fell from the tree. He threw his hand up as more insects flew from his jacket sleeve as a swarm caught the nest and held it up in the air. The child watched bewildered at Higuto and his insects as Higuto slowly directed his hand through the air as the insects followed his hand and flew the nest away from the tree. He thought of what next to do as he knew that he'd need to move the nest away from the leaf area but his insects could only travel a certain few meters away from the area. He looked up to the boy as he knew he'd need to leave him there a little while in order to find a nice place to leave the nest. "Don't worry, I'll be right back!"
He next slowly slid his hand down the trunk of the tree as the web followed and therefore so too did the hornets. His hand slid all the way down until it reached the ground and the web of chakra moved along with his hand as it shaped itself to the contours of the grass and dirt. As he saw the insects follow he slowly backed himself from the tree as the hornets followed slowly after the web. His objective had become to not only save the boy from the wrath of what would soon be really angry hornets but to save the whole of the village possibly as he continued to slowly walk back all the way toward the village gate with the hornets in tow. He continued to walk slowly while holding his palm along the ground as the hornets all buzzed and walked around the web as Higuto slowly walked through the gate while his insects continued to move the nest alongside him. It wasn't until Higuto was a few meters away from the village as he looked at the hornets and thought that he needed to do this as quick as possible so that he could get back to the child. So he did what most considered crazy and pulled his hand away from the ground and began to run.
The hornets, after snapping out of the trance of the jutsu, began to chase after him and their nest. His ninja speed was enough to outrun the hornets as he made his way to the training field so that he'd find a nice tree to leave their nest. After making it to the field he spotted a nice tree as he guided his insects toting the nest towards the tree as they went to work connecting the nest to a branch. He brought up his hands once more to form the ram seal as he placed his palm down on the ground once again as the hornets that were chasing him stopped and flew around the web that formed from his fingers once more. He kept them there as the insects went to work to connect the nest to the tree as several minutes later they finished and flew back to Higuto. Feeling as though he had been there long enough he got up and took off once more as some hornets followed before giving up while most stayed behind with the nest. He hurriedly made his way back to the tree with the child stuck at the top as he looked up to find the child still there. Feeling like he needed to get the child to safety so that their parents wouldn't need to get any more worried than they probably already were.
He slowly brought his hands up and directed his chakra to his feet and slowly walked up the tree as the child watched and seemed even more frightened at the concept of someone walking up the tree rather than climbing it rather than he was with the hornets. Higuto, seeing this, stopped after getting the feeling the child would go so far as jumping down from the tree if he came any closer. If he was to stop this from happening he'd need to come up with a way to keep the child from making any sudden movements that might cause them to jump or fall. So Higuto thought the best course of action would be to pin the child without hurting him. He had heard of a technique that could paralyze a target temporarily as to help capture them for further action. It would be the first time he'd try the jutsu but from what he was told it was a rather easy jutsu to perform so he brought his hands up to form the tiger seal as he looked at the child. "Don't be afraid. This may seem weird at first but I promise I won't hurt you." He allowed his chakra to flow as he guided it out to the child. "Ninja art: Paralysis Technique."
He saw as the child suddenly lock up as the child was whimpering from being unable to move. Seeing this, keeping his concentration on the jutsu, he walked up to the branch the child sat and reached over to pick them up. Getting a firm grip Higuto picked the child up and held them firm as he continued to apply the technique upon them as he made his way down the trunk. He stepped slowly and calmly while carrying the paralyzed child before making it back to the ground and placing the child on their feet. Feeling the child was fully safe Higuto released the Jutsu as the child's limbs unlocked from the Paralysis technique and they stood up while shaking from shock. Higuto watched them as they panted while coming to realize they were safe on the ground once again and looked around as they looked up at the tree where the hornets nest was and back to Higuto before realizing what had happened. "You ok? Don't worry, you're safe and sound now. I made certain that the hornets are as far away from here as possible so you don't have to worry about them anymore." The child blinked as their breathing calmed down a bit as Higuto watched and straightened their clothes for them. "You alright? You need some water or food or anything? You've been up there a while."
"I wanna go home." The child felt scared as Higuto chuckles.
"Follow me. I'll escort you to your mom and dad." They walked along the streets as the boy stuck close to Higuto.
"How did you get the hornets away?" The boy asked Higuto as they walked.
"I told you: I'm an insect whisperer." He waved his hand as insects skittered along it and flew around it as the boy watched in wonder and a little fearfully. Higuto chuckled before calling the insects back into his jacket sleeve.
"And... what did you do to me? I couldn't move at all for a moment there. What happened?"
"I'm sorry about that. I mainly did it because I was afraid you might get hurt so I used a jutsu to keep you still for a little bit so that I could get you down from the tree. I'm a ninja so doing things of that nature comes naturally to me."
"Ninja? What's being a ninja like? You're around my age!" The boy was stunned that such a young boy of 11 could become a ninja.
"It's not easy but it's satisfying. I get to help out my village and go on adventures to help my village grow. I may not be as strong as I can be just yet but one day I'll be there. If you devoted yourself to it even you could become a ninja yourself." The boy blinked and was lost in thought at possibilities as they stopped outside the boy's home. The boy bowed before Higuto, thanking him over and over, before walking towards the door and knocking it. His mother answered the door as she hugged the child and guided him inside. Feeling his mission complete Higuto walked along the streets once more as he proceeded to report the mission.
