A Thief's Ambition Part 2 [Private/ Training]
Sun Dec 24, 2017 1:18 am
As time passed, Setsuna continued his training. He skims through the scroll, reading the jutsu list. He comes across a few that were circled; one of them happened to be an academy leveled jutsu. He passes it at first, looking towards more weapon like techniques, however, he glances back in question. He wonders why this jutsu was circled, why would it be of such importance. The jutsu basically describes a technique the user uses to get out of bindings, any bindings so long as the user is conscious. "Hmm...", he thought. The more he thought about this the more he simply had to do it. It really could help; imagine if he were captured, or even arrested and transported to prison, he could breakout before they could even take him there. Although, most of the time shinobi rather kill their targets, but given the fact that he was dealing with the Employer, he figured this might come in handy. With the just now decided, he places the scroll into his pocket, after reading the steps. It was a simple jutsu, academy level, nothing too serious at all. He looks around for something, anything that resembles rope. He does, a few weak strands vines that hug from the trees near the left side of the lake. He walks over to them, and rips some down with his bare hands. Once by one, he pops them, and throws them to the ground. Since he was the only one out here, he couldn't tie himself up. However, he really didn't need too, all he had to do, was move the rope with his chakra. If he could move the rope alone with his chakra, than essentially he could manipulate rope itself, and untie himself if he were ever bound. It was simple as that.
With the vines down, Setsuna focused his chakra directly towards the vines, the tip of it to be even more direct. After a second passed, he noticed the vine move, and with a little more toying around, he managed to move it around. He moves the rope up and down as if he was a piper, and the rope was a venomous Cobra. After that, Setsuna released his hold on the rope, and left it alone. It was as he thought; it was just a mere academy level jutsu. He pulls the scroll out from his pocket once more, reading it up and down. What should he do next? This he must do, he had to be ready.
As he reads the scroll, he notices something crawling towards him; its tail was raised all the way up. A scorpion. He watches as it passes his shoes, and makes it way towards a dead rat nearby. He watches it grab the dead carcass away. Setsuna never really saw much scorpions growing up. Watching that happened somehow interested him a bit. He didn't know why, for some reason, he seemed quite drawn to it. When the scorpion crawled away from sight, he went back to his scroll.

As time passed, Setsuna is seen still reading the scroll. What more could he learn? His eyes were now set on more higher ranked jutsu, ones required weapons, mostly swords to be exact. As of right now, Setsuna doesn't have any. He couldn't really afford anything right now, and wasn't really in the position to get any money yet, due to the embargo the Employer placed on him. This really needed to stop; it really did remind him of the village system. To be under the heel of someone like the Employer, it really got to him. But Setsuna wasn’t going to let this get to him, not before the Employer got his. Whether he’d screw him out of a deal, or rob him in some ultimate heist, Setsuna will get something out of this. He didn’t survive the tyranny of the Volcano kage to end up like this, under some joke like the Employer.
Reading the scroll, he comes across a technique that allows the user to summon weapons and items into ones hands. The jutsu is also circled, which meant it was of great importance. He really didn’t feel like wasting anytime towards learning this juts, but since it was circled, it meant it was important. Why, he asked himself? Why did he buy this, why did he waste what little money he had to get this junk. He needed to develop more stringer jutsu. Then again, the more he thought about it, overcoming his frustration he realized that perhaps this was all the more reason to learn these types of jutsu.
Setsuna really never graduated from the shinobi academy because of his actions that led him to getting kicked out. All the times he got stealing, the time spent in juvenile corrections, it all added it up to the point of no return. In fact, his record was so bad; he would have never been able to get a respectable job in the Volcano Village, which meant he would never ever be able to become a shinobi. All that time missed from the academy, meant more of the fundamental lessons lost to him. When it comes down to it, how do all the strong shinobi become so powerful? The fundamentals, that’s how. Without the roots, what is there to expand on, how would anyone perfect anything without understanding how things work? And so, Setsuna decided to learn this jutsu, in hoping that he could one day turn this into some very useful in the future. You never know what is out there; And Setsuna plans to be ready when that time comes.
He reads the jutsu about three times. Like the last jutsu he learned, the rope escaping jutsu, he knows this will be easy. It was a basic academy jutsu. Indeed it was, and even with limited academy training, Setsuna really was sharp when it came to learning new techniques. Like the Hidden Mist jutsu for example. He learning that jutsu own his own with astonishing pace, a pace that clearly wasn’t that of a Academy student. Indeed, Setsuna was a bright individual. The technique didn’t involve any hand signs what so ever, it basically was all in the wrist, and setting up beforehand. If Setsuna could use this properly, he could have the upper hand in drawing weapons a lot quicker than the average person. The scroll was right; Setsuna really did need to learn this. And So, Setsuna looked on the ground, and checked to see if there were any more scorpions lying around. The last thing he needed was one of those crawling up his legs. Getting stung by one of those, or even pinched by one, is quite painful. After he scanned the area, he sat down near the lake, and pulled out some kunai. He played with some in his hand, letting it slide down into his hand, from his forearm. He needed to get comfortable with this slight of hand tricks. Setsuna then smiled, upon realizing that perhaps, maybe he already knew this jutsu already and never gave much thought to it. All his life, Setsuna stole things, be it via pick pocketing or burglary he’d done it all. All this jutsu required you to have his skillfulness with ones hands, Setsuna already had this. He nows play with the shuriken, letting it slide around his fingers, as if he were rolling quarters along his knuckles. Like he said before, this was an academy level jutsu, it was cake. After that, Setsuna then closed the scroll once again, after placing all his weapons back into his pouches. He wondered what else he would have to learn. It seemed only the academy level jutsu were circled. Perhaps the one who wrote this was trying to send a message from the grave and beyond. No matter, Setsuna already knew what he was trying to say. He was already back in the academy, learning what he should have learned after he got kicked out. Learn the basics, than build on to it. Much like what he was doing now in life. Start by learning how the black market worked, which he was currently doing. After that, build on that and move one. And that was what he had intended on doing. Setsuna then stood up from the ground, padding off the dirt that stuck to his pants. After that, Setsuna decided to return back to the main section of the black market and figure out how he was going to do this. The job he was given, to pay back his debts to the Employer, what a mess this was. He feels the flyer he was given, and pull it out, along with the one he found in the alley. His eyes than twitched upon matching the dates together, there were old dates, which meant, his five days of planning, turned to 36 hours of planning before the carriage arrived. He couldn’t believe he over looked this key detail, what was he going to do?
