Katon was supposed to be the big thing with her clan, right? So, she'd just have to get good at it, in a sense. Kozachi found herself in the outer part of the compound, where the sounds of the city were more overt and loud than in the middle. Still, this pier overlooking the water was the best place to train the fire element... just in case there were any accidents. She stood up from where she had been sitting and looked over the waves. As unlikely as it was that she'd ever have affinity with the water element, there was always the off chance.
Still, that wasn't what she was here for, huh? In reality, she was already kneading chakra within herself, the comfortably heated sense of fire element chakra warming up her insides within her core. Ah, this was the feeling she was looking for. This heat was something she could get used to. It seemed that the katon attribute really was her thing after all. She formed the half tiger hanseal, with the two fingers of one hand extended and proceeded to put some effort into the action she was to perform next. The fact that this jutsu only needed one hand to perform made her think that it was possibly more versatile than some of the other techniques she had learned about... not really.
It would be nice, but what made this technique so funny was that it was REALLY weak. So weak, in fact, that it was basically considered a baby bones technique to help young folk like herself work toward that Uchiha special, the great fireball technique. So, here she was, trying to get it down so she could work her way up the ladder towards techniques of higher power. Naturally, she was getting it down a lot faster than she expected, but she'd seen Kenjiro perform it yesterday. Dammit, his form was so good. This is what the elders in the clan meant when they said "blessed by heaven".
She suspected, perhaps, that all this rigorous training that they were trying to put the young ones through was part of an effort by the clan to produce more geniuses on the level of Viper or the ones who had come before him, maybe. However, she had no way of knowing, and as such, was left with her conjectures and guesses as to what was going on around her. Perception could really be a bitch sometimes, you know?
Either way, she opened her mouth and breathed forth the fire stream technique. Ha! Better than most, she thought to herself. She gave herself a small congratulatory grin, then tried it again. There was a concept behind this technique that she needed to grasp by the time she reached genin. Fire techniques weren't always the strongest, but some could cover quite the wide area of ground. And that meant that she could deal with large enemies at once, which her sharingan (if she ever found the power within herself to unlock it) would also come in handy.
She tried again, the fire making a stark contrast against the waves that lapped against the pier beneath it. Alright, perfect! She was all set to start training toward better things. Just you wait, Ken, she thought to herself silently. I'll be up there soon, and then you'll be looking up to me! Except not really, I'll probably always be shorter. Yeah, she was a little self conscious about her height, but there was nothing to worry about. Size could sometimes be a liability in combat, as she knew.
