He didn't want to leave her side, but there were other things he needed to do, and he could not put them off if she didn't ask him to. "I should get going." He said softly to her."I'll come visit you tomorrow." He promised before making his way to the door. Now was likely not the time to express any feelings he had, so he'll wait for her to get better. With one last look and a smile in her direction, he opened the door of her hospital room and made his way out, quietly shutting the door behind him.
