Neither of the two boys deigned to reply to her question. It irked her just a tad bit, but Saya was not a petty girl. At least, she hoped and thought she wasn’t. So, the girl exhaled an exasperated sigh when no reply was forthcoming. Instead she worked on her slowly melting ice cream, enjoying its sweet taste on her tongue. Her eyes darted between Komori and the new kid, Haruto Uzumaki. Since they wouldn’t be telling her how they met, she figured she could work on her deducing skills. A bit of Sherlock Holmes play in her head. It was certainly something fun to do while they were in this weird standoff that spanned over a mere few seconds rather than the length of three months.

Starting off with the redhead’s case. A boy that, just moments before, stated he had recently been promoted to genin. A complete green boy. Saya tilted her head just so as her eyes roamed over the boy. He did reek of inexperience and innocence; in her own opinion. But he did mention quite a bit of trouble when it came to his own academy mates. Particularly of the girl variety. Fangirls. Of course, Saya had seen their behavior on several occasions. Her own year’s Number One Rookie had multiple pleasant encounters with said fangirls. Unlike Haruto, however, Satoshi handled his fans quite well.

But that was neither here nor there. Saya blinked, already halfway done with her ice cream as she continued to connect the dots. Haruto had been an academy student only until a few days ago, which meant that he had passed the ever sporadic genin exams. And who usually conducted the assessments? Those who ranked chunin or above. And seeing as Komori was clearly a high leveled shinobi, it was more than likely that he had administered Haruto’s genin exam. It was so simple. Honestly, anyone could have come up with the same conclusion. Not at all at the level of a Sherlock Holmes problem.

Saya could have laughed at herself for thinking that. Internally shaking her head at her nonsensical thoughts, the girl shifted her attention to the slowly growing crowd. Many old faces peppered the mass but there were several others that were new to her. She raised a brow at how young most of them looked. Most probably Haruto’s aforementioned entourage from his academy days. That didn’t surprise the medical kunoichi. The Uzumaki would be busy the moment he was assigned to a team, and he would not be interacting much with his old schoolmates. Much like her actually.

”Well, I think I’ll be heading out,” Saya said after clearing her throat and Komori’s wordless exit. She looked towards the redhead one more time, giving him a lopsided smile. It was kind of a pitying smile in regards to his situation. Should she give him a warning? She hardly knew the boy and it was none of her business on how he dealt with the fangirls’ need of him, but he was clearly afraid of them. Actually, on second thought. Nodding to herself in a decision made, Saya would leave the boy to his problems. Haruto needed to learn how to overcome such a dilemma. ”It was nice meeting you, Uzumaki-san. If you need help or whatever, you can usually find me at the hospital.”

With those words said Saya gobbled down the rest of her sweet treat and went off to resume her training.
