You Will Learn...Or Else.
Fri Jun 29, 2018 1:04 am
The area in front of the Academy is a rather peaceful place at the moment. With the sun shining proudly over head on the area, the occasional critter can be scurrying about. Yes, it does seem peaceful but if you listen closely the inaudible sounds of the area slowly becomes harsh words of scolding. Looking down the road you are able to see a man standing about six feet; Chuunin vest adorning his simple black shirt. Black pants and blue shoes finish up the attire. He appears to be rather stern as he pulls on his right hand a shorter lass, and Under his left arm are some scrolls. The Lass can be seen wearing black shorts, simple shoes, and a Fishnet shirt with a white tank-top under. She is formerly known as Nami...
" You think you can hide from me? " He yells at Nami now approaching the school grounds
Tears have already dried off the girl's face. Not like the man would care anyways; being the daughter of this particular Shinobi meant that her emotions are virtually un-important. Struggling to keep up with her father as she nearly trips; stable footing much? The building now in full view she began to loath looking at the place as it has become a nest of horrible memories. Ones that she has to pretend that they don't affect her. She stares at him to answer the question.
"Papa, I-I was jus- "
-Slap-
Her words are interrupted with a slap across her left cheek.. The stinging sensation of the physical was all to familiar. She brings her left hand to touch the area that was struck, and does not dare to look back up at the man. The pecking order is established from a young age.
" Are you going to lie me again? " He asked with an exhale resembling an angry bull.
Nami slowly shakes her head lower hand to the side and remains in stun silence. No more words where exchanged as the father, Furamo, slowly lowers the scrolls down to Nami. Once she accepts the man would simply walk off to leave the young Uchiha girl all by herself. She is expected to study to learn the academy basics as quickly as possible. She stares down at her scroll with a sorrowful look before slowly dragging her visage up to see a nearby tree. Taking the initiative, she walks over to take seat under the tree leaves. For a moment she stares at the ground thinking about what just happened. Tears would slowly begin to form..that is until a bird flutters over nearby. For Nami this was enough to turn her world back up again. This one instance of nature was enough to take her mind of family matters...even if it was for the moment. The teary eyes disappear as a soft smile could now be seen. Truly Nami is a gentle soul, but her father could not see it. She could only be pushed for so much...right?

(occ :Im at the academy for a mission : Here. Im on a lunch break , explaining my being at the academy)
Having obtained his bento box from the school cafeteria yogimiru retreat from the hellish horde that was the students on a lunch break. Escaping towards the front of the school, the young mans logic was that students wouldn't be allowed off the premises during school hours. Being sadly mistaken the area although not littered still held a few students on the grounds, deciding it was good enough yogi looks around the landscape for an area of seclusion.
The vast area in front of the academy was rather broad and sparse offering only a few tree's as structure to accompany a few bench seats. Wandering around the space with no real sense of direction the young man couldn't help but notice the soul crushing sight of a girl sobbing. Fixated on the girl and wondering what has her upset, he had no option but to approach, "Umm, exuse me. Are you okay?" he says in a mellow and calm tone.
Having a somewhat chivalrous nature and a love and respect for women yogimiru felt a genuine worry for the girls emotional state, if she where to respond he would ask to take a seat along side her, if she where to ignore him he would have no choice but to leave her alone and find somewhere to sit to eat his lunch.

OOC: Feel free to skip the first paragraph, as it isn't much pertaining to the current scene.
Daiko, stretching out on his bed stares up at the ceiling. He had felt that the day was going to be rather uneventful, though he didn't really mind. The fixtures on his walls seemed to be a bit off from what he was used to, though he didn't notice anything that stood out too much. He had a strange feeling inside of himself that it was the type of day where he learned a great load of things that he didn't give too much thought to, though at the same time could be helpful to him later on. Perhaps he would discover more about what exactly his special abilities did for him. Sighing while he sat up in his bed, he looked over in a corner to spot his puppet sitting harmlessly on the ground. Using his puppet strings he had the small puppy come over to his bed, and hop up next to him. He proceeded to pet the creature and had it nibble on his finger with its cute little gums. In terms of things to do, he was at a loss. Playing with his puppet offered him some entertainment, but not quite as much as he felt the world beyond would help him with. There was always the lingering thought that perhaps he would run into at least someone worth his time, though the thought wasn't adamant; Daiko decided that he'd may as well do some training for himself. He stood up to the side of his bed and took short, dragging steps over to his closet. It wasn't much of a tough decision as to what he was to wear today, as he simply grabbed a black t-shirt and a nice black and white hoodie. He pulled on sweatpants over his silk boxers and sighed. Though it was very comfy attire, he was hoping he didn't run into anyone he would have to try and impress. If he ran into the Hokage, it would be quite the embarrassment. An anbu agent? Even more so. Though his opinion of both of the parties did not put them to the highest standards, he would still want to look presentable. Not that he didn't. Walking out of his room, he calls to his mother to see if she was home. It had seemed that she wasn't. Scratching his chin, he shifts around the common area of his home and sighs. With nobody home, he couldn't ask his mother any useless questions that wouldn't give him any information. With his father not home, that meant he could get into trouble. A devious grin slowly spread across the boys face, as he went to the kitchen. Inside of the kitchen was a basic range, as well as some cupboards with various dry foods, as well as some cups and dishes and what not. Climbing on top of a table to get to the highest cupboard, however, he noticed that there was something worth his time. A crystalline cup that looked like it could hold a few cups worth of liquid was what he got. Hopping off of the cupboard, he placed the glass on the counter and looked for something to fill it with. Inside of a fridge he found all the essentials. Orange juice, some milk, and even some bubbly liquid that tasted like guava. Damn, he loved some guava soda. Grabbing the soda, he pours about an ounce into the cup, barely filling it past one centimeter in the cup. Leaving the soda out, he began to rifle through some other cupboards to look for the key ingredient to the drink he was concocting. Finally, finding what he was looking for, a cheesy grin once more spread across his face. He runs his fingers across the label of some sake, as well as a nice, full bottle of shochu. Pulling the bottle from the shelf, he pours it in the cup until it's about 4/5ths of the way full. Putting the bottle back exactly as it was, he closes the cupboard and goes over to his 'elixir'. He sighs, stretching out and sighing. He wasn't exactly quite sure why he had been so sneaky, as he remembered that he had been the one that purchased this alcohol. Laughing to himself, he chugs down the drink and makes a sour face, downing some of the sparkling guava water, or whatever the hell it was supposed to be. Going back over to the cupboard, he takes a decent swig of the bottle for good measure, and puts it back, downing some more soda to drain it down easier. Coughing a bit, he puts the soda away and sighs. He knew his mother would likely frown upon his day drinking, though he didn't really seem to mind. Making a slow pace to the front door, he stands outside and pulls out a pack of matches. Striking a match on his shoe, he lights up a cigarette and begins a slow pace through the village. Nothing really seemed off, as the village was bustling as usual. Daiko hoped he might run into some ninja of Kirigakure, and tell them what's what. In the back of his mind he hoped he didn't, as he wasn't exactly in his 'best condition' to fight. He still had a tactical mind, though he felt he might make some risky moves. Mumbling to himself about shadow creatures, he walks out to an open part of the village. It felt as though the villagers were somewhat alienated from him, walking and looking concerned about onions or whatever they were carrying. Currently all Daiko really had was his puppet, conveniently on his shoulder, and his usual weaponry. He wasn't too concerned about something happening to him, whether it be from his inebriety or just his usual state of mind of not giving much care. Shuffling away from the crowds, he finds himself walking towards the villages training grounds. He was trying to think of what he should train today. One thing that did interest him was his general ability to feel his own chakra inside of him, as well as that strange dark force that seemed to peacefully feed off of his own chakra to power itself. He didn't really mind it being there, though sometimes he wished for some sort of explanation. Kicking the pebbles at his feet, he notes that the details within the pebbles somewhat pertained to his own life. They each had their own place, and would shift and grind over each other and smooth themselves out as each person that had followed this same path contributed to. They all had their place in this world, and Daiko felt at peace. He too, had a place in this world, and had been smoothed out from his younger days. He was happy with who he was now, though he knew that he was capable of much more than he currently found himself being occupied with. Drinking and stumbling around the village. That wasn't quite the way of a ninja, though at the current moment he couldn't have given less of a piece of mind to it. Noticing his cigarette had burned out, he squishes it between his fingers and pulls out another one to light it. He had almost found his way to the training grounds, and nothing had popped out to attack him. That gave him some piece of mind ,and he continued on his way, not quite sure what he would find. The trees began to get a little bit thicker around him, as he was leaving most of the common villagers behind. It didn't seem like many of them had felt any need to go to the training grounds, as most of them spent their days talking about what was going on in the village and carrying onions... Daiko himself usually traveled out into the woods alone, though he didn't feel like that would be a safe place. Though he was confident he could take out most animals with a kunai and a couple fancy jumps, he wasn't so sure he would be the best at jumping in his current state. Laughing to himself like a madman, he thought of scenarios in his head of deer attacking him and trying to get the best of him, only to have wolves pop out of nowhere while they were completely unaware. A wolf had saved his arse once before, but he doubt it would ever happen in a real scuffle. Looking out into the woods longingly, he decided to take a short trip into a thicket he noticed. There were a lot of sticks and brush, though it didn't bother him much. Getting down in prone position, he takes a last puff of his cigarette before pressing it out between his fingers and putting the remnants in his pocket. Pulling up his mask, he slowly crawls under the brush, making it to what seemed to be a clearing under all of the brambles. Crawling further, he noticed a little nest that held small birds that were nesting with what appeared to be their siblings, cuddling and being cute. Daiko, remembering he had his puppy on his shoulder, hid the creature as not to alarm them. Spreading his hand forward before closing into a fist with just his finger out, he gently pets the head of the small peeps. They were very soft, and nibbled on his finger. This caused a giggle to escape Daiko, which was when he heard a loud cawing sound, followed by birds enclosing on him and pecking the living hell out of him. They dug their filthy claws into his hoodie, which left no real marks other than dirt, and they screeched something awful. Crawling out from under the brush as carefully as he could, he brushed himself off. He still had some dirt left on his character, and so, he formed the tiger handseal, and all of the dirt and leaves simply seemed to slide off of his body, falling into the dirt. Coughing, he lights up another cigarette and heads on his way.
Daiko continued on the path with the pebbles, and began to see the clearing that marked the training grounds of the Leaf Village. In the distance it didn't look like much was going on, or even that there was anyone around training. Burping somewhat quietly, he wipes his mouth on his sleeve and takes a last hit of the cigarette before disposing of it in his pocket as he had the rest of them. Still feeling good from his earlier partaking of spirits, he shuffled into the training grounds. It was nothing very special, though it was a bright sunny day and it didn't seem that there was a single cloud in the sky. The sun shone brightly down on the village, and it seemed like all was at peace. It was a nice change from random homeless men being stuck under trees... At least in Daiko's opinion. Taking a better look at the scene, Daiko noticed that the training fields were for the most part empty, save for what seemed to be two children crouched around each other making evil plans. Daiko wouldn't stand for no damn evil planning in his village, and set to think of a way to kill them. Slowly approaching and about 30 meters away, he actually noticed that one of them was a Konohagakure ninja. The entire notion of them plotting as evildoers completely left his mind and he gave a soft chuckle to himself. Perhaps these kids wouldn't be too put-off by a man of his age arriving at the training grounds, and he could even try to teach them a thing or two. Not that Daiko actually knew anything that would be useful to them, he decided that if the topic came to mind that he would be happy to help. About 15 meters away at this point, Daiko noticed that something seemed off. The smaller of the two, which he now realized was a female, was actually sobbing to herself for some reason or another. There was a male that was also with her, but from the looks of it he wasn't the one that made her cry. They were both children, and perhaps she lost a toy or something. Daiko was reminiscent of his days as an academy student, doing stupid E-Rank missions that were completely pointless as tasks for a ninja. Approaching slowly, his puppet that looked exactly like an adorable puppy hopped off his shoulder, and he caused it to gently make it's way through the grass. Daiko was about 10 meters away now, and wasn't quite close enough to make himself super apparent though not incognito in any sense. Keeping his mask over his mouth but his hood down, he approached the scene, about three meters away from the girl. He wasn't quite sure what was going on, but the only real idea he had to help soothe the girl was having his puppet walk up to her, and nuzzle her hands. He did his best attempt to have his chakra strings appear as just one, so it would seem more likely that the 'puppy' was on a leash rather than a puppet. The little puppy would gently lick the girls hands and nibble on her fingers with its gums if she so let it, otherwise it would just roll on it's back and kick its legs in the air and look adorable. Though it seemed the boy with the girl was soothing her on his own, or at least attempting to, Daiko still had the puppy there. The thing was very cute and brought him happiness on some of his dark days. Perhaps it may have the same effect on the two before him. Speaking in a relaxed voice, hiding his inebriety, he asked the two. "Yo, everything alright around here? You need help with somethin'?"

Nami zoned out by the presence of her feathery friend, did not exactly saw the two male approaching. With the bird flying away, disturbed, of course, she had to come back to planet earth and her issues. It is not an exaggeration to say that animals, or rather watching them, gave her the escape she needed, but when it was all said and done the memories came back like a brick flying through a glass window. She has forgotten, for the moment, the troubles that she left behind at her home. The abusive home in which a certain father figure rules it with an iron fist. A mother, who she suspects has her share of disappointment, who can only cope with the man she loves by simply smiling through it all. Nami found herself exhibiting the same behavior in her daily life. Ironically, this is an exact moment where it came in handy. With Daiko and Yogi now in the vicinity, her own troubles take the second place. She quickly wipes any residue of that salty substance before she takes a moment to muster up a smile. Her pearly whites on view for both boys to see to convince them that everything is in fact all right.
" Yeah, I am fine. " She says in a forced upbeat tone.
She gestures over towards the scrolls next to her as she continues
"I'm just -so- happy to get started on my Kunoichi Training. "
She is not exactly a good liar, but when it came to shifting the attention of her towards, she is a natural. Nami glances between the two boys and notices a similarity. The shiny metal piece that shows to the rest of the village, and world, that they are no longer just a child. That they are now apart of something greater. The epitome of greatness for any child her age... Or at least that is what she is forced to believe since she was a young lass. She grits her teeth as she had to ask them a question that would more than likely if she is lucky, receive two different answers. Standing up she introduces herself to the two
"My name is Nami of the Uchiha. "
The last name stings her tongue as if she is forced to include that in her greeting. Of course, her clan crest on her back, under her hair, would give that away, but no...She is forced to take ownership of the life she is given. Uphold a strict code of ethics and even if she is not Heir to the Uchiha, she must act that way. These were thoughts constantly plaguing her mind whenever -she- had to use the name Uchiha.
" You both are Genin, right?... Was there a reason why you both wanted to join the military? "
She would answer her own question, given that they would ask her too, the question remains if she would do it either honestly or she would lie to them. How could she at a time where the village needed a generation of leaders and moral support...

Suddenly deviriting his attention from the young woman a calm voice would ask "Everythin, right around here?, Need help with somethin?" taking his eyes from the girl and moving his gaze towards the man his intimidate attention would at first be drawn to his ninja status signified by his headband and secondly the puffy white dog by his side.
Responding to both questions the young lady would redirect her gaze from the treetop towards them, rubbing her eyes and putting on a false smile she answers "Yeah, im fine". Pointing towards a bundle of scrolls that sat along side her she "I'm just -so- happy to get started on my Kunoichi Training. " excusing her teary eyed look to happiness.
Sceptical about her response he would internally quiery if this where to truth, deciding not to pry he would chose to remain silent. Quickly diverting the conversation the girl would go on to introduce herself, followed by questioning the pair.
"You both are Genin, right?... Was there a reason why you both wanted to join the military?"
Taken back by the girls deflection the question he would take priority in response "Firstly, Nami, its a pleasure to meet you. Im Hyuuga Yogimiru" he would reply with a charming smile. Looking towards the young lad for his name once stated he would reply with "Its nice to meet you",
Pondering the complexity and implications of such a simple question yogimiru knew the answer with in his heart. However due to the current social and political climate he questioned if he could answer honestly, Staying true to his convictions he would confidentially proclaim "The world is broken and no one is fixing it, I want to forge a world of peace were no one has to fight. If this is the only way to accomplish my goals so be it."
Having a sense of immediate regret at his bold statement the context could easily be misconstrued by people that didn't know him, he would continue to feel a sense of worry until hearing the other ninjas reply.

After Daiko had asked if the two needed help with anything, he would notice that the young boy would look up at him and hadn't seemed to say anything. Getting a better look at his face Daiko noticed that he looked somewhat older than he first perceived, perhaps around 15. Noticing secondly that the boy seemed to look over at his puppy, and this caused Daiko's mouth to turn to a slight grin, which would be unable to be seen under his face mask. Turning his attention back to the girl, Daiko noticed that she seemed to have changed her attitude quite quickly. Though she seemed to be saddened and lost to emotion not but a minute ago, she spoke about how she was fine and that she was excited about getting started on her training. Daiko wasn't exactly a master of telling people's emotions, especially with his insobriety. However, the girl seemed to be forcing the 'upbeat' tone more than just a bit, so Daiko decided that he may as well pay attention to whatever it is she would be saying, whether important or not. Small details in her facial features and posture told a much different story than what she was attempting to display as her current emotional state.
Nami... Uchiha. Nice enough name. Daiko felt like he had heard that name before, perhaps in one of the pirate novels he had read as a kid. Pushing that thought out of his mind, he decided that the name Nami was worth remembering as this forcibly upbeat though apparently emotionally distraught girl. She didn't seem too powerful at first appearances, though Daiko was smart enough to know that first appearances didn't dictate everything. She didn't seem to have a village headband, so either she was an academy student or a ninja sent to invade. Noting that she looked to be around a child's age, Daiko was more sure within the fact that she wasn't some evil ninja plotting to kill but rather, in fact, just an emotional child. This didn't lessen how Daiko felt about her in any way, and in fact he felt nothing more towards her than a small semblance of pity that would be offered to someone that seemed to have problems greater than not getting what they wanted. 'Look at this inferior creature... Of the Uchiha clan, with nothing to show for it... Aren't they supposed to gain power from emotions?' Daiko completely ignored the banter of the Yuumei inside of him, focusing instead on something else. Daiko had small flashes of memories of his days in the academy, and he remembered the feeling of shame when he would go home straight faced and end up in tears in his room. Disgusted at himself at the thought of his child self, he casually glances over to the boy. Wait-- What was this she said about military? Daiko wasn't quite sure what that was or what it meant, so he just assumed she used some strange foreign word for Shinobi.
Slightly embarrassed with himself, Daiko chuckled shortly and replied "Somebodies gotta keep these damn vagrants off the street!" Looking to each of them, Daiko would say with a slight pause in the middle, "My name... Is Daiko."
Daiko then looked over to the boy, noticing that he spoke of how it was such a pleasure to meet the girl, giving her a charming look and whatnot. Daiko was pretty disgusted considering they were both children, and did his best not to turn away at that very moment. Perhaps this young girl's problems sprouted from boys chasing her to begin with. But, it was no matter. Daiko registered the boy's name as Yogimiru Hyuuga. Daiko kept a mental note of the man's features and such as well as his physical features. He seemed pretty buff for a kid of his apparent age, though nothing ridiculous. Looking down at himself, Daiko realized he was pretty scrawny in comparison. Well, he'd better not say anything to start a fight, or perhaps this Yogi would be taking his picnic basket as well as the shape of his face with a couple sweet punches. Stopping himself from giggling at the thought of racing this boy around with puppet strings, he realizes that the boy looks over at him and says that it's nice to meet him. "Yeah, Nice to meet you too."
Daiko then stood and listened to the boy.. Yogi, it was, exclaim about how he decided to join the shinobi forces with a noble ideology and how he was trying to make the world more peaceful. 'Good luck, kid...' Daiko once again ignored the seemingly incessant voice of Yuumei in his mind to respond to the boy's proclamation. "Damn. Good to have some noble Shinobi stepping up--" Daiko would then burp, the fizzyness of his earlier drink coming out. He wasn't the least bit embarrassed, however starting his next line of speech he said a quick "Excuse me," continuing, "Ninja I've met in this village so far have been crazy... Breaking and snapping their limbs like lunatics and shooting damned lava orbs... It seems like there's no end to what crazy shit goes on around here. So, what's you kiddo's skills?" Daiko could tell from appearances that the boy was likely a taijutsu user, or maybe a weaponry user who liked to stay buff. As a Hyuuga, it was more likely than not that he was a practitioner of Taijutsu, so Daiko led that as his assumption. The girl seemed to be smaller, and more fragile. Perhaps she practiced Ninjutsu, or even Fuuinjutsu. Not quite sure, he decided that he would find out whenever the girl spoke more about herself.
"I see that you have no ninja headband for this village," He scratched his chin "Perhaps I, or," Motioning over to his newly met genin, "Yogimiru and I could give a demonstration of some basic techniques that would get you through the academy." Daiko made a happy face, hopefully showing with his eyebrow expressions and such, and continued his final words. "Of course, I could also leave, if you'd rather practice without me... You seem to have a big ass scroll right there." Taking a few steps back, looking from the male to the female, he puts his hands on his hips. "Just let me know! I'm not the greatest in a hand to hand fight, so don't expect anything like that! We could, however, more likely than not show you some easy techniques, like surface walking or substitution!" Daiko gave a thumbs up to the girl, hopefully cheering up a small bit. He was pretty drunk at this point, as the alcohol reached in his system. 'Wasting your time on children? You could be doing something productive with your time instead of getting drunk and playing with kids.' 'I mean. Children are the future. Better to have tough kids than a bunch of cannon fodder.' The Yuumei seemed pleased with that, and would hopefully shut the hell up for the rest of this encounter. Maybe he would ask the girl to throw a kunai at him or something, but he wasn't entirely sure. He was going to be playing it however the girl so desired, but at the same time the option of him leaving wouldn't be taken as an offense. The small puppy would nuzzle into the girl's side with its little nose and lick on her fingers more if she would pet it or get her hands near the mouth.

Offering a sigh of relief to the young man the validation offered by the pair gave him faith that there was still a chance for the future of the village. Having introduced himself as daiko he would then proceed to offer a trivial answer to the question and continue on with ramblings.
Starting by an incoherent rant about the "Craziness" of the village and then goes on to ask about combative abilities, Feeling strange about the line of questioning he would briefly display a puzzled look white internally monologue "Whats my skills?, who is this kid and why does he want to know about my techniques?," taking a notable pause he looks in daikos direction. Seeing the young ninja noticeably looking him up and down and then proceeding to size up nami, his mind races in paranoia.
Taking a deep breath to compose himself, he would excuse himself as he sat beside the girl, looking at the pair he placed the bento box he obtained from the academy cafeteria. "Hope you don't mind. Im here on a mission and this is my lunch break." Opening the lid of the packaged lunch yogimiru was filled with disappointment, poorly made and placed rows of sandwiches.
Picking up one and biting into it begrudgingly, his nose is turned up in disgusted by he continues to finish the triangle slice sandwich piece. Returning to diakos question yogimiru had finally formulated a response "Daiko, i specialize in the hyuuga clans Gentle fist." Activating his byakugan he goes onto explain "When using my clans doujutsu i am able to see your chakra flow and tenketsu points." noticing the thin chakra thread attached to the puppy the implication would feed the young man some information.
Deactivating his doujutsu after finishing his explanation he decided to keep the information he gained to himself, addressing his next statement yogimiru gos on to say "Unfortunately im on a bit of a time limit today, but id be more than willing for a rain check." Offering a smile towards the pair he go's onto finish his lunch.
