God Damn this Boiling Space
Amaterasu Meijin sat on the edge of the rooftop, kicking her feet into the air and spying down on the populace below. She didn't know what building she was perched on, but it was a good ten meters or so in the air. A few people stopped to stare at the twelve year old, wondering if there was any guardian figure neglecting her- but nobody came, and they continued on their way. The sun above shone bright and distant. Cold winds bit at her exposed skin while the rays from the star above warmed it almost immediately afterwards, as if the two were fighting for dominance. She let in a deep breath. The chilly air stung her lungs, and she welcomed the little needles of pain. Exhaling a small cloud of steam, her eyes turned back to the people walking the streets beneath her. To her, they were insignificant. Amaterasu would likely never meet them again, and yet... The thought of each individual she watched having a life just as complex as her own intrigued her. They likely each had their own set of principles, beliefs, histories... A woman walked past with a resting child. She had a family, a job... A man quickly lumbered across the road, blisters trailing up and down his forearms. He was a physical laborer, likely working at a blacksmith.
The concept of morality intrigued the young sociopath. She never really saw the point in adhering to a set of arbitrary beliefs and principles, and it would likely always confuse her- but she found it interesting nonetheless. She only needed to know enough to fake it until she made it, as it were. Everything she did had a reason, of course- it wasn't out of the goodness of her heart. If something didn't benefit her, directly or indirectly, there was no need to pursue it. She turned her mind to Toshizou. Their relationship, while appearing to others as sibling like, started off as more of a business arrangement between the two. At least, that was how the young Meijin saw it. It was a delicate balance of give and take. Give too much and she'd waste her time. Take too much, and... well, there'd be no reason for the older man to stick around. The thought that he could genuinely care for her didn't even cross her mind. Nonetheless, she did enjoy his company- he was an interesting puzzle to study. Three years later, and she still felt that she had only scratched the surface. A small part of her wondered what would happen when she solved it. Would she keep him close or toss him away?
She swung her feet outwards, not unlike a younger child, and began to hum a small tune to herself. It was a traditional Volcano Country lullaby, and as such the words had never really left the sparse countryside. She was the only one to leave her town permanently for generations- despite the fact that it wasn't of her own accord. Amaterasu vaguely wondered how her biological parents were doing back at the country of her birth. Were they shunned for child abandonment and neglect? Were they praised for getting rid of such a monstrous child? The curiosity was just that- a small question. What they did with their lives from here on out was irrelevant. The had made the choice to leave her behind, so she should make the conscious decision to not let them impact her future, either. As the last notes of the melody left her lips, she sat still and silent on the roof's ledge. She wondered what Toshizou was up to. The two normally split up to do their own individual things during the day, only meeting up during the evenings. What did he do? Was he aware of her petty crimes? She had a feeling that he wouldn't particularly care either way. The young girl kept her eyes on the road below. Maybe she could spot him down there.

The lone male sung a song almost instinctively as he sat in a tree to himself. In the area not too far had been a few people passing by, listing to the somber yet refreshing song that for some odd reason caused a few people to stop and listen. At the moment he had been alone in his mind as he repeated those words, a gentle wind blowing through his hair as he cracked one of his eyes open to peer through the canopy of the tree and then he stopped. It had been so long since he had sung those words, the song relieving him of any mental pain at least since that was what had been plaguing him.
As he stared into the distance of the light capturing leaves he could hear the shuffling of small steps and a simply cheery voice before it disappeared into the distance, and he could feel the eyes of a few other people landing on him as he sat there. He wasn't going to move from his perch to find out who the people were and he certainly wasn't going to go out of his way to ask what made them remain. It was what it was and Kuro wasn't in the mood for chasing questions.[/justify]
He slowly leaned his head forward as he looked at his weapon leaning just a few inches from his face, conversing with it as if it was alive...was it? The weapon had been a second half to him after he had been given it, forming a new bond with it in what would be best described as a symbiotic relationship. Yes. Here in this tree sat Toshi...A second year student and someone who did not mind being looked at weird for singing in a tree and conversing with something that belonged to him.The black haired male slowly looked into the distance from where the tree had been, his eyes seemingly catching onto the sight of someone or a few someones actually. If he had caught a glimpse of someone he knew, he would wave them over with his tail and smile to them knowing that if they were a friend? They'd stop by and see what he was doing.

A small smirk could be seen upon the scarred face of Kenshin as he casually strolled through the moonlit streets of the Black Markets. This particular area was ruled by an unknown and The Monster was considering whether he should do exactly what he had done in the markets of Shadow Country. Overthrowing the unknown and their henchmen likely wouldn’t be too difficult… and the twisted soul that was Kenshin had been feeling particularly bloodthirsty since he had left the deserts of Wind Country. After his run in with the young undead puppeteer he had decided to forgo his assault on the forces of Wind Country for a few days in the hopes that the crippled child would warn his Countrymen of the threat that was hunting them. He was still rather impressed with how cunning and ruthless the innocent looking boy had been near the end of their little scuffle… but in his experience no amount of guile could save one from a blatantly superior opponent. The fact that the boys last ditch efforts had only landed because Kenshin had allowed them to was proof of this simple fact.
The scroll that he had taken from the child had proved to be quite the find, as it contained what appeared to be centuries worth of knowledge from a clan that he had never heard of, the Yamaguchi. This knowledge included, but was not limited to, the rather strange art of Undead Puppetry that the youngster had used in their fight, along with the designs for each of the puppets that the child had used and even some that he hadn’t. Before his encounter with the boy the half-blood Uzumaki hadn’t possessed even the slightest interest in the ‘art’ of puppetry, but even after that his interest was mainly in the fact that the boy seemed to use decaying corpses to fight. But now, after he had started reading the scroll that he had stolen from the young Yamaguchi, he had gained a rather passionate interest in the art. Already he had perfected the Chakra Threads themselves, and from there it hadn’t been all that hard for him to perfect the technique that the child had used to force him to slit his own throat… all he had needed was a few less than willing test subjects.
He had his Manipulated Fabric take on a new form after the encounter with the Yamaguchi boy in Wind Country, but if anything the change in outfits made him less conspicuous than he had been before. He had grown to dislike the outfit that he had started wearing during his days as a Chunin of Hoshigakure, not simply because they made him stand out much more than they already did, but also because he had simply outgrown the style of those clothes quite some time ago. He was now clad in a black, high collared overcoat. It was a long overcoat that extended down to just below his knees in overall length, and due to the ten buttons that started at his waist and ended just beneath his neck it was open from beneath the waist down. The overcoat was long sleeves, with 7 buttons between the elbow and wrist of each sleeve to make putting the coat on easier. Beneath the overcoat was nothing save a simple black tank top that seemed to be missing most of its back, exposing the five masks that were stitched to his snow white flesh… or rather they would be exposed if the overcoat wasn’t there.
The pants that he had chosen to have his Manipulated Fabric from really weren’t anything special, just a pair of slim fitting, light black dress pants. He had decided to change up his footwear from grey sandals however, as he disliked having his feet exposed for no apparent reason. Instead his feet were adorned by a simple pair of laceless leather combat boots, black of course to match with the rest of his outfit. The leather gloves that could usually be found on his hands were gone completely, exposing his pale and slender fingers to the world. The single braid that he had added to his hair so long ago was also gone, both because he had grown to dislike both the look and feel of the styled hair but also because he felt that it didn’t fit with his new look. All in all the new clothes weren’t exactly inconspicuous, especially when combined with the features of the man that wore them, but they were still a damn sight better than what he had taken to wearing during his time in Hoshigakure.
He was brought back to reality when his sharp silver eyes caught sight of the relatively small figure sitting on a nearby rooftop, humming whilst casually kicking their legs back and forth in the air. The figure was obviously that of either a child or a young teenager if her pale yet somewhat pudgy face and small frame was anything to go by… but the cold and calculating gleam in her eerie yellow eyes was what truly caught his attention. The look that she was giving those who strolled down the street was very similar to the looks that he gave in the instances that he allowed his many masks to drop… a relatively simple observation that told him a lot about the girl. It was enough to pique his curiosity, and it wasn’t as if he had been doing anything other than wandering through the area in an attempt to both pass the time and familiarise himself with the new location. The pale child would likely have noticed his curious gaze by now, as it wasn’t as if a man with snow white skin and a rather eye catching facial scar would go unnoticed even in a crowd, especially when said man stood at 6’2 and had a silver mane that reached down to his knees.
For but a moment he would allow the mask of casual amusement drop from his face, allowing the child and anyone else that chose to look at him in that exact moment to get a glimpse of his true self, and not any of the various personas that he wore around others. For but a moment a truly twisted and insane grin would begin to spread across the scarred face of the teen, and the silver eyes that had once been filled with life and mirth seemingly be replaced by eerily glowing, cold and dead orbs that no true human should possess. But just as The Monster had been revealed it would don its mask of humanity again, and he would simply begin to walk down the street once more, small smirk only widening minutely as he walked down the street. He found himself wondering whether the child had actually seen the glimpse what hid behind his mask… and whether she would actually follow as he hoped. That slight peek into the true mind of The Monster that had once been Kenshin Senju was more than enough to cause most to flee… but the look that he had seen within those amber eyes told him that she was just like him, a wolf amongst sheep.
Now then… would the little wolf follow the big bad monster?

She continued with her song, skin prickling slightly as she felt someone's gaze rest upon her small form. She tilted her head and turned around to face the figure. Acid yellow irises met silvery gray ones. His expression was curious, and his attire even more so. He was obviously not from the area, or she would've recognized him, but something about his facial scar and hair seemed familiar- perhaps she had seen him on a bounty board or something. His skin was paler than hers, and he towered over the scattered civilians walking to and fro. She held his gaze, curiously analytical about what the man in front of her was thinking about- and what his presence would mean for her and Toshizou. For a brief moment, it was like a mask had slid off his face- a small upturn of the lips deepened into a maniacal grin, and his eyes grew cold. A few seconds passed, and the mask was put back into place. He walked away, and questions burned in the back of her mind. Who was he exactly? How powerful was he? And more importantly... Was the man like her? Following him down the street would inevitably be dangerous should things turn out badly, and she suspected that he was a lot stronger than she was. Curiosity won over common sense, and she slid off the roof. Her chakra flared briefly as she partially surface walked, allowing her feet to attach to the wall firmly enough to stick but not so tight that she would stay in place. She descended quickly, stepping off the building around a yard from the ground. Her feet impacted the ground silently, and she observed the stranger's back as he left the area. She wasn't particularly skilled at stealth- she was more of a weapon of blanket ruination- so it was very likely that he'd already know where she was, and attempting to hide might lead to false assumptions about hostile intentions. Eventually, Amaterasu put her hands inside the pockets of her black sweatpants and followed him several meters back, a smallish layer of civilians in front of her. Should anything happen, they'd make good meat shields, at least.
She ended up passing by a tree as she followed the man. A familiar voice rang out, and she realized that Toshizou was up there. He was holding something in his hands- a sword. And he was singing to it?... She decided not to investigate. Besides, she didn't really need his help following the stranger. He was nearly two meters tall and towered over the people around him. Not to mention his outfit- a black overcoat with a tall collar, combat boots, and simple dress pants. All looked well above the price range of the people around her. This was a poorer area of the borders, and most of the wealth was brought in from merchants who soon left for greener pastures. Crime rates were high as well, discouraging many from staying for extended periods of time. She certainly never helped with that- most of her crimes were petty thefts, robberies, and heists. The twelve year old had nothing against more violent acts, but dumping bodies was time consuming and awfully expensive. Not to mention the potential of attracting bigger fish. Both her and her traveling partner were in a delicate position. Too dangerous of a reputation and someone would put a bounty up. Too little of one and nobody would take the two seriously, and might even turn their efforts at crime towards them. A foreigner and a child were a very vulnerable looking pair, after all. A small exhale left her nose. She was getting distracted... But something about the stranger's expression left an odd feeling. Did he want her to follow him? She had no way to prove this for certain. If she was being lured into an ambush, well, she thought she had a pretty good twelve years. She doubted that theory, though- Amaterasu got the impression that if she was wanted dead she would already be a cooling corpse.

Sight had been a curious blessing given to shinboi and animals and as the male looked at the sword, in the corner of his eye he saw it. His young companion wandering after something. In fact she looked up at him without so much as acknowledging him which meant something had her attention, but just what was it? Sitting up in the tree he followed her movements only slightly to catch a much taller male walking in the distance...maybe this is what she saw? He leaned backward so that his feet were holding him in the tree before letting go, his hand wrapping around the katana and then landing on his feet as he made small strides to catch up with Amaterasu. He stayed behind her for a moment until they had hit an alley and when she had least expected it his hand graced the top of her head as he he squeezed," Didn't I tell you not to follow strangers...Especially ones who look dangerous? Whatever am i going to do with you child," his eyes of course moving upward to look at the male who had maybe rivaled him in stature. His choice of clothing reminded him of an Undertaker of sorts, but the feeling he had been giving off was even worse than that. The feeling he had only told him that if either of them made this one angry, he could possibly wipe them both out but....Toshirou had a hint of courage him in. Let's see if it would help him.

Most would have been terrified by the sheer malice and insanity hidden behind The Rag-dolls mask of humanity… but the little girl that sat on the rooftop simply looked down on him with curiosity. As he walked off his superhuman ears picked up the sound of her sliding off the roof, slipping down the wall, and landing safely down on the street only a few meters behind him. He wondered if perhaps her youthful curiosity had won over her sense of reason and logic, or could she perhaps see him as somebody to learn from… or maybe she saw him as a potential mark due to his rather expensive looking clothing. No matter the reason he was intrigued by the girl, or rather by the look of cold calculation that he had seen as she stared down at the crowd below. That hadn’t been the look of a simple thief casing out potential targets… that had been the look of a predator watching its prey, a look that he had to admit he had never seen on a child's face before.
The further he walked the more obvious it became that she was trailing behind him, as she made sure not to stray too close to him while at the same time ensuring that she never fell too far behind. He found it smart that she was attempting to use the crows between them as cover, although he couldn’t tell if such an action was done in an attempt to hide her presence from him or to use the sheep as meat shields if he turned out to be hostile. However, the further he walked the thinner that the crowds actually got, mainly because he was walking away from the centre of the little town and towards the outskirts. He figured that she planned on at least trying to talk to him if she had followed him this far, or perhaps she intended to try robbing or killing him… either way he would prefer if whatever was to come took place in a more private setting. As he passed by a rather withered and old looking tree he would take note of the tall and pale man that sat within, his white mane flowing with a light breeze as he sung to a sword of all things.
Even as his song stopped he would pay the man little mind, but when he heard the man drop a meter or so behind his little stalker he began to wonder whether the girl was simply a lookout for the rather imposing looking man. The half-blood Uzumaki would be more than amused if that was indeed the case, because while he would admit that the man looked a bit more imposing than him he highly doubted that the man possessed a level of strength even close to his own. He would look over his shoulder when he heard the man finally reach the child, and his silver eyes would narrow ever so slightly as he watched the man put his hand on her head and give a light squeeze. So they did know each other… now the question remained, were they planning to try to either rob or kill him? Because if they were he would need to teach both of them a lesson that they would never forget… if he felt merciful enough to let them keep their lives anyway.
He would stop walking as the pair did, but it seemed that he had noticed something that neither of them seemed to be aware of just yet. His sensitive ears would easily pick up the question that the man asked, and as the words left his mouth Kenshin’s smirk would grow a tad larger. It seemed that it was indeed child's curiosity that led her to follow him through the Markets rather than an elaborate plot to either rob or kill him as he had started to suspect… although that revelation did indeed disappoint him a little. He doubted that the two were related based off their looks alone, but it seemed that the man was playing the role of father or elder sibling to the young one if his light scolding was anything to go by. The former commander of Hoshigakure’s Nova Corps would turn to face the two and give a rather light chuckle.
“At the moment neither of you are in any danger from me… but I can’t say I speak for any of them” the scar faced young man would say, simply gesturing with his head towards the alley that they had stopped in front of. Only around three meters into the alley, somewhat hidden by shadows and garbage, were at least four rather rough looking men that were eyeing the pair rather intently… and the look in their eyes was most definitely not a kind one. He was willing to bet that they were all armed in some way, but he couldn’t feel anything noteworthy in terms of chakra from any of them. It was likely that they were mere bandits that called this particular section of this Black Market home because they were simply not smart or dangerous enough to make it on their own, not powerful enough to survive outside of this wretched little haven for all manner of scum.
The Rag-doll would simply watch the scene that played before him silently, his eyes dancing with a rather macabre amusement and his mouth split by the same small and rather unnerving smirk that was seemingly fixed to his face at all times. He hoped to see the blood of the pitiful filth spilt by the rather unassuming duo that stood before him, and he very much suspected that he would end up getting exactly what he hoped for.
The monster within simply hoped that neither of them would end the suffering of the scum too quickly… as it found that the screams of the damned was the only music that truly soothed its tormented soul

Toshizou squeezed her heat lightly as he scolded her for following a potentially dangerous stranger. She raised her shoulders a little bit, unused to physical contact that wasn't meant to harm. Eventually, the man in front of them stopped, speaking up and exposing four rough looking men hiding in the shadows of the alley. Acid yellow eyes took in the sights below her, quickly analyzing the threat before the duo. The man had expressed that he wasn't a threat for now, and part of her believed him- she suspected that if she was wanted dead, she'd already be lying in a ditch. Amaterasu knew that she was quite a bit quicker than her travelling partner, and she likely knew more offensive techs than he did at the moment- he more than made up for it with his skill in weaponry, of course, but for now she figured that it'd be best if she handled it before they got too close. Her hands, which had been at her sides, quickly flashed into a single hand seal- Tiger. As her fingers twisted, four blue lines of fire coalesced in the air towards her knees. It was a relatively low ranking technique- aptly titled 'Piercing Darts'- but it only had one hand seal, and she didn't want to waste her chakra on a more destructive technique that could potentially bring down the buildings around them. With a twitch of her fingers, they quickly shot upwards in a diagonal manner. They'd enter through the point where each man's jaw met his throat, travel through his neck, and come out through the brain and skull, cauterizing the wounds instantly. The smell of cooking pork rose through the air, and she found herself clenching her nostrils at the smell. She wasn't particularly disturbed by it, of course- she just wasn't a big fan of olfactory stimuli to begin with.
She took in a small breath, tilting her head slightly as she did so and taking in the man in front of her. There was a cold, calculating gleam in his eyes, but not one that was unfamiliar. She often saw it on herself in the mirror. Not entirely sure what to say next, she'd wait a couple of moments before nudging Toshizou slightly. The meaning wouldn't be immediately obvious, but would imply something to her travelling companion. 'Sorry I didn't leave one for you'. She wanted the situation to be resolved quickly and efficiently, and the more people who joined a fight the more complex it got. The twelve year old shifted her posture slightly, not quite standing tensely upright anymore but in a more slouched, relaxed state. While it would allow for more freedom of movement, she figured that there'd be nothing the two could do should the man turn against them- so she might as well get comfortable. Eventually, she opened her mouth to speak. "What do you want out of us?" There was a reason he had warned them. There was a reason they were still alive. Did the stranger find the two interesting, or did he want something further?

At the moment? Was this man seriously telling them this to throw them off guard? Or was he serious? With the addition to a group of thugs this had certainly made things...interesting to say the least. Stuck between a rock and a hard place would definitely be the phrase he would use to describe this. Of course this could have also been an elaborate ruse for the man in black to test their skills. It was an interesting conundrum for sure, but his little friend he was more than willing to settle the issue herself. With a small sigh he would lean against the wall to his right, hand resting on the sheath of the sword as he made sure to keep his crimson eyes on the taller male. Amaterasu could handle this alone herself which was what she was going to do, but him on the other hand? If he had to it would only take two strokes to end their lives. As the smell of burnt flesh and death filled the air around him, a hand went on top of the younger female's head as he smiled," Next time leave some for me alright?," there was no congratulations or good job from him because his smile and words were chosen explicitly to console her.
Since the small annoyance was out of the way, his eyes that remained on the other male shifted to look over to the bodies lightly as he spoke," Since i can probably make a logical assessment and say these weren't with you...Was this a test you inadvertently set up or just a freak coincidence? I'm not one for luck or fate, but that was extremely...well timed don't you think my enigmatic friend?," of course since this male rivaled his own stature he would naturally stand strong, but even his pride wouldn't allow him to stand as if he could take him. The black wisps continued to play outside of his own vision, his eyes occasionally glancing over to them, but made it to where it seemed like he was keeping track of who walked by and who saw the bodies. Toshi wouldn't prevent Amaterasu from speaking but would of course keep tabs on what she had been saying just in case she annoyed the man in front of them.
As a result he wouldn't outright give their names to him and he would expect Amaterasu to do the same. There was a strange power in knowing someone's name and it could also spell the difference between life or death. Amaterasu's question was probably the first time they had a simple thought that wasn't spoken between the two but conveyed as he slipped his hand from her head and rested it in his pockets, moving the other hand he had on his sword away. The question was simple, but the answer would provide him with the necessary actions on what to do next. Something told him not to turn his back on this one, but his mind was intrigued on what he could have possibly wanted out of the two of them besides what they had or their skills. Maybe...Nah. That could not have been the case, but stranger things have happened in this ill-fated world. For now he would remain silent and wait for the answer to his younger partners question before responding.

The half-blood Uzumaki would watch the situation that unfolded with undisguised glee in his icy silver eyes, the calculated efficiency that the child moved with was a wonder to behold, even if her movements themselves were both slow and clumsy to one such as he. No, her current skills didn’t impress him even remotely… but the potential that she held was something that he hadn’t seen in many others. There were only a handful of people in Hoshigakure who he felt had held quite as much as the child that stood before him… Ayato, Genevieve, Kotetsu, Namikaze… and Valen. The first two had reached the ranks of Chunin quite easily, Kotetsu had been a Jounin before his rather unceremonious death at the hands of Valen. Namikaze herself had been given command of one of the Nova Corps squads before he had departed from Hoshi… and as much as he hated the thought of her tarnishing his legacy he knew that with his departure from the village she had likely been given command of the unit as a whole. Valen… well, he was the current Hogokage, and regardless of his personal thoughts or feelings about the Lord of Light he wasn’t foolish enough to believe that the man was anything other than powerful.
He would release the slightest of chuckles as he watched the flaming darts produced by the child pierce the skulls of the four fools in the alleys, although he did find his curiosity piqued even further by the fact her flames were a rather deep blue. The only times that the silver haired youth had heard of blue flames was in the tales told about the Two Tailed Cat and it’s many hosts… but he doubted that one so young and unskilled could be the host of such a beast. If she were indeed the host then it was highly unlikely that she would be allowed out of the village that she called home, and even if she were it wouldn’t be without a bodyguard that could protect her from any threat… or put her down if she attempted to rebel. No… her strange flames had to come from somewhere else… perhaps a bloodline of some form? Sorethin, the Tau that he had made a deal with so long ago, had provided him with a corpse that he said possessed some strange affinity to fire… perhaps it was something similar to that?
While the child dealt with the scum in the alley the man that she was travelling with had been watching Kenshin rather intently, a single hand resting on the hilt of the katana that he wore on his waist. It was obvious that he could the stitched and scarred stranger was a much larger threat than the four bandits in the alley, but said stranger had only regarded him with a glance, his silver eyes seemingly glinting with amusement as he did so. The taller mans minuscule chakra signature was all that it took for Kenshin to know that the man was but an ant before his might. That wasn’t to say that the young girl would end up faring any better against him, but out of the two it was only she that had actually managed to capture even the slightest hint of his interest. The albino would watch with amusement as the man again placed his hand upon the head of his younger companion and seemed to complain about the fact that she hadn’t left any for him. His amusement would only rise as the mans mismatched eyes flicked over the bodies and he posed a rather interesting question, one that earned a light chuckle from the man in black.
“I wouldn’t exactly say that I set this up, I simply noticed that I was being followed and decided to head into a more private area. The fact that said area is home to less than reputable people even by the standards of those that dwell in the black market is what makes the area so private.” The scar faced stranger would explain to the two, seeing no reason to hide the truth of the matter from either of the duo that stood before him. His eyes would travel back to the younger of the pair as she tilted her head to the side ever so slightly and watched him carefully with her burning amber eyes. He had to admit, he was a little surprised when he saw that her posture become less tense and more relaxed as she watched him, especially when she opened her mouth and voiced a question that both of them were likely wondering. His surprise was amplified when the man's hand left the hilt of his sword and simply hung loosely at his side, while the hand that had been resting lightly in the black locks of the child was placed in the pocket of his pants.
“Hmm, you are an interesting one aren’t you” he would muse aloud as he gazed at the child, his somewhat relaxed smirk taking on a much darker look as his eyes changed. His right eye was glowing a deep blue as the left seemed to glow an ominous red, the right having no complex design and the left having 3 black tomoe seemingly inscribed on its surface.
“Most wouldn’t let their guards down in a place like this… especially near someone like myself.” The Rag-doll would then say as he began to walk slowly towards the pair, each of his steps possessing a rather unnatural silence as he moved.
“There is nobody around here that would risk their lives trying to save you if I decided to kill you.” He would say as he continued to move closer to the pair, his steps neither increasing or decreasing in speed.
“There is nobody around here that could actually stop me even if they wanted to save you.” the silver haired shinobi would say as his walk continued, a deep and sickly purple aura beginning to rise from his tall and rather slender form in an almost smoke-like fashion.
“Thousands have fallen to me and many of them were more powerful than either of you.” He would then say, and as soon as the words left his mouth an absolutely monstrous amount of Killing Intent would fill the area, more than likely making both of them freeze out of sheer terror as visions of their own rather gruesome deaths played through their minds. (192 stats needed to resist this effect I believe)
“Compared to me the two of you are mere ants.” He would say as he finally came to a stop directly in front of the pair, his killing intent seemingly reaching its crescendo before vanishing completely.
“But… I have nothing to gain from killing either of you. Nor have you given me any reason to kill you.” he would say as his eyes simply went back to their neutral state and his smirk turned into an amused grin. He had killed countless people for absolutely no reason in the past, and he wasn’t doing so right now because he had changed… if anything he was worse than ever. No, the main reason that he was leaving this pair alive was because they intrigued him… and they seemed to have potential.
“I am not going to pretend that I am a good person… I am a monster and I will do whatever it takes to fulfil my goals. I have killed so many people that I have long since lost count of the true number, and a great deal of those people had done absolutely nothing to deserve being killed… I simply did it for the momentary entertainment that their suffering provided me with.” The Rag-doll would explain, a rather pleasant smile on his face that clashed horribly with the words that were escaping from his pale lips.
“I will be frank, the two of you intrigue me. I like the look in your eyes little one… and you have potential in droves. You seem to have a fair bit of potential yourself, but I will admit that my interest in you is secondary compared to my interest in your friend here” He would say, looking directly at Amaterasu as he spoke of her, while allowing his eyes to flicker to Toshizou as he spoke to him.
“I am willing to help the two of you grow stronger… willing to guide and teach you how to become true wolves among sheep… and monsters among wolves.” he would say, watching the two rather intently as he made his offer. He knew that his offer would be a very tempting one to the duo, as strength like his was rare amongst Missing-Nin and rarer still was someone that was actually willing to help others grow to similar heights. Kenshin was no fool though, he knew that there was only so much that he could actually teach them, and if they were smart they wouldn’t assume that his tutelage alone would be enough to let them grow to heights similar to his own… but it would definitely help.
“All that I ask in return is your loyalty when I decide it is needed.” he would then say, his Killing Intent returning for but a moment as a warning of what would end up happening should they decide not to fulfill their end of the bargain. He didn’t think that his offer was unreasonable either, as it wasn’t as if he was asking for their undying servitude, only that they be loyal to him when he asked it of them in the future.
“I suppose I should introduce myself, I’m Kenshin Uzumaki, former commander of Hoshigakure’s Nova Corps and now A-rank Missing-Nin. The Nova Corps being the Hoshi equivalent of the Anbu.” he would announce, a rather proud grin splitting his scarred face as he did so. He had kept his identity as Alpha secret while he stayed within Hoshi but after seeing what Valen had listed in his Bingo Book entry knew that he no longer had reason to do so, as he had described the mask that he used in detail… along with other information on his other abilities. He had seen the entry on him whilst he stayed within Shadow Country, so he had no way of knowing whether any new information about him or his recent crimes had come to light, or whether his rank had been changed, so he simply announced what he actually knew.
“So… what do you say?” He would finish by asking simply, this proud grin being replaced again by a small and amused smirk.
He found himself wondering what they would decide. Would they take his offer without question? Would they need a few questions answered first? Or would they simply reject it and attempt to flee? There were quite a few other things they could do, but those three seemed like the most likely ways that one would respond to an offer like his. He was truly interested in seeing how the pair would react.

The ragdoll man stepped closer, words spoken at a normal volume but with more threat than a whisper or shout could ever convey. She agreed with him- there was nobody there to save them. And nobody who would want to. It was the way it had always been, but that didn't make his pointing it out any less like a slap in the face. Images of her own eviscerated corpse in a garbage heap flashed before her eyes, and she knew truthfully that if she did die here and now, nobody would ever remember her. And that was the scariest part. She wanted attention. She craved it. The thought of nobody knowing her name for the rest of time was... Well. However, as he confirmed her thoughts that he'd have nothing to gain from their deaths, she flexed her fingers- nothing threatening, more of an instinctive reaction to the killing intent to make sure she was still there. If her hands were slightly sweatier than normal, that was no one's business but her own. And then came his offer. He had come to her in a stunning display of power and offered her something which she desperately wanted- power. And wasn't that the unspoken rule of the world? The weak must fear the strong. The request for their loyalty when needed- well, this was simply another business exchange, wasn't it? You couldn't get something for nothing. Besides, if this man's ambition matched his power, then the things she'd likely be made to do would be like stepping stones to both of their goals. When he introduced himself as Kenshin Uzumaki, a small flash of recognition went off in her mind. She'd heard that name somewhere before, but until now didn't possess a face to match up to it. She took in a breath, eyes slightly narrowed in thought. "My name is Amaterasu Meijin." she spoke simply. "I accept your offer."
A moment passed before she decided to speak up once more. She eyed his mistmatched pupils, one the color of the water and the other a dark red. "Is it a reasonable assumption to make that you're knowledgeable about medical techniques? I doubt those are the eyes you were born with." Medical ninjutsu greatly interested her, and she'd be of a mind to learn more about them later, once she had truly mastered her fire element. "I specialize in fire based ninjutsu, but I get the feeling that you already knew that." her high pitched voice rang lightly through the alley. "I've learned a few techniques on my own, but they're usually easier when you learn from someone else. Do you have any proficiency in that element as well?" She tilted her head slightly, eyeing Toshizou. It'd be useless to hide information about herself that he'd eventually discover anyway, and could hinder the group as a whole should he not be made aware until it was too late. She blinked slowly, not unlike a cat. "Due to my age, my body's delicate and not suited to close range combat, so I mostly stick with mid to long range." After that, she'd turn to Toshizou. She silently asked for his thoughts, the only body language displaying the question being a slight tilt of the eyebrows. Would he join the stranger in front of them?... Would he dislike her for her choice? She didn't make it with the intention of abandoning him- in fact, she was hoping he'd come along. She knew he had a fire affinity as well, so perhaps she could pass on to him a little of what she knew to supplement what he would be getting out of the arrangement. Either way, the winds of change were blowing, and she wasn't yet sure if they were flying or if they were caught in the storm.
