The hero dog

Mission:

It was a normal day for the village of the Hidden Leaves, ninja all doing their daily missions for the Hokage in order to supply money for the village, as Vergil was no different. Given the task of a E rank level by one of the other ninjas who couldn't take care of it themselves he was now tasked with finding out what was wrong with a dog that was barking up a storm in the village and terrifying a lot of the children that were around. Walking over to the dog's last known location he looked around to hear barking not too far off as he ran towards where he was hearing the barking while whistling softly. It came at him from a group of people it had been barking towards before barking to him and tugging on his sleeve towards the village gates. Vergil would lightly jog through the village gates, dog taking the lead, as they both would go into the woods towards the training field. Making his way quickly to the training field the dog would lead him over to the stream that ran along the center of the field as he noticed a child being swept away down the river stream's current. Well this E rank mission just turned into a high danger mission. Taking off at a run Vergil hopped onto the top of the river's rushing waters, chakra exuding through the soles of his feet, as he dashed towards the boy at top speed trying to catch him before he sunk and possibly drowned.

For the most part the kid looked as though he had knowledge on how to swim, able to keep his head above water as he was swept away, as that was pretty much all his strength could muster compared to the strength of the current. Taking a deep breath, upon making it about a couple feet away from the child, Vergil dived down into the water before zooming upwards towards the surface while aiming directly for the boy's struggling body. The result was Vergil popping out of the water while carrying the boy with him before using his surface walking technique to walk along the water once more. He quickly hopped off to the side onto solid ground and laid the boy down onto his side as he told him to rest his body due to having been strained a bit too much. The dog caught up to them finally and began to lick the boy in the face as, after a while, the boy smiled and laughed to his dog's hyper licking. The dog then turned to Vergil and tried to tackle him over with licks but Vergil kept him held back before merely petting the dog on the head. The result was the dog merely licking his hand in thanks as, after a few minutes of resting, Vergil would guide the boy and the dog to their family. A group of travelers, a father and mother, would hug the boy in relief and thank Vergil before he nodded in response and made his way back to the village.
