Daily Training
Mon Sep 16, 2019 3:35 am
It was 6 AM and the sunlight was beginning to creep through the windows of Fu’s small apartment window as it did every day, causing her to awaken from her short- but needed rest. Fu had been training tirelessly for the last couple of weeks due to the rumors that another Chuunin Exams were in the midst of being announced but had not been officially confirmed yet. There had been a surge in Genin recently and everyone was anxious to get there change to become a Chuunin and take on more challenging missions. That was definitely Fu’s motivation behind competing in the exams, also she wanted a change to test herself against others. She was never going to become a renowned swordsman or huntress if she couldn’t keep up with her peers. Fu decided that instead of starting her day at the training fields, she would head down to the marketplace and browse the swords that were for sale in the area. She was beginning to make traction towards saving up enough money to buy something decent, but she hadn’t decided on the right one as of yet.
Fu pulled herself out of bed and fixed breakfast. Her diet was simple and contained mostly proteins and vegetables. Today’s breakfast consisted of several eggs and wheat toast- food to produce energy for her long day ahead. Once she finished eating, she showered and then changed into her normal shinobi attire. Today she wore a green shirt with black shinobi pants and black shinobi shoes. She was also wearing two ninja weapon pouches that contained various ninja tools and her Leaf headband that was tied securely around her left arm. Now that she was fueled and dressed, she was ready to depart to her first task of the day.
Fu exited her small apartment on the second floor and locked the door behind her- not that she had anything worth taking. Heading into the main street, patrons and vendors alike were beginning to start their day just as she had done. Fu walked for about 20 minutes from her home to the main market area of the village- an area that was always extremely lively. Konoha served not only as the main village of the Fire nation, but one of the main central hubs- which consisted of the Leaf and Tanzaku town. The closer Fu got to the market, the more she could feel the energetic vibes. She enjoyed shopping and spending money, her only problem is she didn’t have enough money to spend and the missions she was getting did not pay out as much as she hoped. As she traversed through the crowd various vendors would call out to her trying to get her attention to show her their products, but Fu paid them no mind. She knew what she needed and didn’t have enough money to go around blowing on things she didn’t need. Her top priority was getting some decent steel.
Fu’s first destination was the main shinobi shop- however after looking around for a while she found nothing of great use to her at the moment. She remembered that medical shinobi from one of her missions telling her to pick up a text book on medical ninjutsu from the market while she was there however, Fu deferred that commitment for now. Leaving the store disappointed she continued to walk until she found a store that fit her needs. After a few minutes she stopped In front of a store front and looked through the glass window to see various ninja tools and weapons. Her eyes were caught by a large great sword in front display. Intrigued, Fu would enter the shop and head straight for it. Now standing before the sword, Fu would grab the handle and attempt to pick it up. It wasn’t easy to lift at first but now that she was holding it firmly with both her hands she had a decent grip on it.
The Shop owner would see Fu messing around with the sword and head straight towards her. This was his change to sell the sword and he planned to do what all good sales men did, sell her the product.
“One of the finest swords in my collection. Big, but not too heavy and extremely sturdy. I reckon you could cut through anything with that if you had the strength. Found it along with some remains of a fallen shinobi in the forest. Whatever finished him off was big- there wasn’t much left of the bastard. See as he was dead I took the liberty of getting this bad boy onto my cart, but it wasn’t easy.”
The shop owner would say with pride. Fu found it odd that he stole the sword she was holding from a corpse and she motioned to put the sword down now feeling a little creeped out. It was definitely hard for Fu to argue with his logic though- the guy truly did no longer have a need for the sword so someone else might as well use it.
“So how much?” Fu would say expecting for a ballpark range of 4k Ryo.
“Well” the owner would say, pretending to check out the sword, “I haven’t seen something this good come through here for a while and since it such high quality… I am thinking 11k Ryo. Will that be cash or credit?”
“11K Ryo!?” Fu would exclaim. “I don’t have that much money!”
“11K is as low as I’m going to go kid. If you’re not going to buy it then get out, I got a business to run and don’t have time to deal with kids.”
By this point, Fu was pretty annoyed by the man’s words and instead of trying to fight him she took a deep breath and stormed out. Back to the drawing board. It did not appear as though Fu was going to be getting a new sword today, so instead she intended to go back to training with hopes that something official would come out soon about the Chuunin exam signups.
As Fu approached the training grounds, she would see a group of people surrounded by the notice board. They were all surround around a piece of paper. Fu approached a boy, he had a leaf head band on his head and he seemed to be in a good mood.
“Hey whats going on here?” Fu would ask him.
“You haven’t heard? The Hokage finally dropped the news that there’s going to be a Chuunin exam exactly a month from now so everyone’s excited. My names Kaito by the way, there’s a group of us heading over to the fields to train if you want to come.” The boy asked.
The Chuunin Exams huh
Fu thought to herself. “Sorry I’m going to have to pass, maybe next time.”
She was not in the mood to train with strangers- if she was going to learn she would need to do so on her own. Fu headed to the far Eastern corner of the training field where she would train for hours on end. If she was going to be the best, she was going t o need to train like the best. Hours went by and Fu continued to practice basic ninjutsu and weaponry techniques that she had read about. Fu was rather a quick learner and found that her work ethic supplemented her thirst for knowledge. It was almost 6PM and the sun was beginning to set. Fu was completely drenched in sweat and had reached the point of exhaustion.
There was a light breeze that carried several leaves with it and then a presence would make themselves known. In a blur of speed, a man with a mask and a gray cloak would appear before Fu. Fu didn’t hesitate. She didn’t seem to be affected at all by their presence- in fact she was rather annoyed. She figured they would come to her sooner than later, but not this soon.
“It appears that they will be having a Chuunin exam in a month and we would like you to join.”
The masked man would say.
“You have one month to train in order to pass and we are expecting you to pass. You will be more useful to us if you are able to conduct higher ranked missions. Don’t let us down.”
With that, he would disappear in the same fashion that he had appeared, in a blur of speed.
How rude he didn’t even give me a chance to talk. Fu thought to herself. Lucky for them, Fu had every intention of training hard and becoming a Chuunin. The stronger she got, the closer she was to her dream and the sooner she could get away from those guys. Pulling herself together, she would gather her kunai and shuriken and begin practicing once more. Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, she would begin to run as fast as she could and release them methodically in order to hit all of the targets she had placed around the field. Fu continued to do this kind of training until she performed every throw perfectly and hit every target. The kunoichi felt as though she had done her best today and figured it was time to head home. Fu gathered her kunai once more and made her way to the exit of the training grounds and towards her small apartment. Hopefully she would get an upgrade once she got promoted to Chuunin rank because she sure needed one. Fu would rip off the exam flyer as she exited.
