[HFE] The Long Trek (Eliwood & Seiichi)

Seiichi stood on the edge of a cliff. Looking down he didn't think anything of it. It was more than a hundred meters, trees that lay at the bottom where large, but small from his perspective. In the distance he could see a slew of waterfalls. They created a large amount of moister that stuck in the air, it smelled like it was always about to rain, and with so much water nearby accompanying the rising sun, mosquitoes weren't that far behind either. Seiichi hated mosquitoes, little blood sucking vermin. I better get moving. He thought as he tugged on the cord attached to his mule.

His donkey was pulling a large cart full of food, he was working for Maku now, and Maku was catering for the special event at the ruins of Takigakure. A party for the seasonal event at the old ruins was the perfect place to hold it. A creepy place like that, with all of the rubble and debris hanging about he was interested in seeing what they had planned to doctor the place up. Though they may have rebuilt more than he had thought. Whatever it was Seiichi couldn't wait for it to be finished with. Large groups of people made him nervous. They always attracted something sinister, somehow people always knew when a gathering was going to happen and decided to strike, making a new comeback for their village or organization. It was dark times they were in.

The donkey lugged the cart slowly. They were still quite a few miles away but maybe they would get there before sundown. There was a few larger hills to pass by and waterfalls to duck under. He tried not to worry about time but he kept thinking about the food. Not that it was going to spoil, but that animals would get to it. He shrugged. If they haven’t gotten to us yet.. He thought tugging a little more on the donkey.

His suit was pulled on by the large gusts of wind that accompanied the hill tops. It was thick enough to withstand the chill and it kept his body protected from the elements. Red tie, black slacks, black jacket, white undershirt, Seiichi thought he looked nice. Though, the scar that ran down his face plunged a knife into it all, so he brought a mask with him in his pack. It was an old evil looking thing that was red and black, resembling a demon of some kind. Black and white horns protruded along it. It was just large enough to cover his face and flexible enough to be comfortable.

Going underneath the waterfalls he was surprised to feel how warm it was. The curtain of liquid must have kept the wind out. Plus, with all of the moving water the mosquitoes didn't have much of a place to harbor their eggs. Swatting and cursing at them was getting old. All he could think to do was tug on the rope a little harder. It made the mule trot a little faster for a few minutes, then it would start to walk in its slow moving walk. He was glad that Maku invested in comfortable shoes, with so much distance he had to travel it was no small thing to not worry about his feet. The ground gave way to its soles like a parting sea. Water couldn't cling to them if it tried, but the wind could pass through them with ease, keeping them nice and dry and so comfortable... Seiichi thought as he continued to walk.
