Bringing in the Big Guns [Private, Meesh]

The nights following the takeover of the Kumogakure by the polarizing Kutari Uchiha hadn’t been calm. Riots, violence, and a growing chasm between the citizens and military alike deepened in the midst of those who hid among the clouds. A most troubling situation. And yet, there were duties that needed to be performed. In the days that followed the Kage’s departure, Kaito had created teams, and in doing so, told himself that he must follow the kage’s command to him. Should he return, he would need to know his command had been followed. Should he have betrayed the Kumogakure as the easy target it was, then there would be no one to blame but the Kumogakurians themselves. Walking brazenly through the moonlit with an escort of two other ninjas, the trio strolled among the fancier side of the city. Kaito took special care to put confidence in his step; coming from the poorest side of the city, he always felt out of place here, and seldom walked in this zone, but today he felt the need to, following his Kage’s requests.

From the corner of his eye, there was unwarranted movement. Attempts at staying unspotted under the cover of the shadows so gracefully enforced by the bright white moon, and Kaito lifted his right hand, pointing with two fingers in two different directions. The two ninja siding him flickered out of sight.

Kaito’s own target was the closed off compound of the Amherst clan. His stride didn’t falter when once again, his eye spied movement. Nothing too strange for such a magnificent compound with patrols. Except these weren’t patrols. He could give some leeway to a patroller wanting to hide from a prospect thief, but even in the moonlight, Kaito was able to spy the clothing of the individual, reminiscent of one of his neighbours rather than one of clan’s patrols. A single handseal, and Kaito’s muscles energized, and in a blur of movement, he landed in front of the would be looters. “Howdy”, he said before shoving his open palm into the face of the first, a slight crunch and warm wet sensation permeating his skin. The other individual looked in terror at the red dread. “Go back to the wharf”, he started, commanding the survivor of the encounter to regroup at where the lowest of the low agregated. “Tell them the next one I find snooping around here is going to have a much more painful reckoning. Take this piece of trash with you, or he might not make it with a broken skull.”

He got back to his feet and started marching back to the front of the compound. Most likely, the security detail of the compound would have their weapons trained on Kaito, if they weren’t able to make out the headband on his forehead, or the flak vest on his torso. Maybe they saw it but figured he might still be one of the few ninjas turning rogue and planning coups. Whatever the case, he stood in front of the place. “My name is Noboru Kaito. I come on quest from the Raikage. I request an audience!”

Mayhaps it wasn’t polite to have an audience late at night; but the winter weather lent itself to night starting in late afternoon, and shouldn’t be too late anyway for people under threat of looting.

A chill wind beset the Amherst compound, and she found herself rudely awakened with a shove. "S-Solaire!" a small voice hissed, and she spotted a patch of purple hair- Ichira. "Someone requests an audience. He has two ninja with him, and says he's here on behalf of the Raikage!" At that, the drowsiness was blinked from her eyes and she pulled on a simple gray kimono over her white top and black leggings. A pair of small feed slid into leather boots, and she made her way outside. A familiar presence weighed down behind her- Hibari. Though not technically a ninja in service to the village, the woman was wickedly talented with a blade. Her left hand was at her hip, towards her kunai pouch, while her right remained to be unseen. Eventually, the three of them made their way outside, with Solaire in the front, Ichira staying behind at the door, and Hibari directly to her left by two feet. Her hands were folded neatly and politely in front of herself.

"I t-take it that this is a matter of grave importance to approach the Amherst clan at this hour?" The barb was hidden- if this was something less than a village wide catastrophe, it could wait. She eyed the blood on his hand, face remaining calm and stoic. She waited politely for a response at that point. Solaire may have been polite, and she may have been kind, but she didn't waste her time. Should this prove to be more trouble than it was worth... Well, she'd most likely head back inside.
