Gathering wood from a forest... Sounds easy right?
Sun Feb 02, 2020 7:34 pm
E-Rank:Lumber
Snow had just finished up his bowl of ramen at Ichiraku's after cleaning out most of the rooms in the orphanage. Lucky for him, there was plenty of people in the village who needed help, and he was just the guy to give it to them. There was still about an hours worth of sunlight left in the sky, so he figured there was still time to get some extra training in before the end of the day was upon him. He was just about to round the last turn until the long straightaway headed directly for the training grounds when he heard a couple guys on a construction lot yelling at each other.
Snow, surprised at just how things just kept being dropped into his lap, all kinds of opportunities for him to be able to help the people of Konoha. He ran over to the construction site to see what was the matter. When he ran through the opening in the gate, the two men were still yelling at each other. Talking about a lack in the inventory and how they weren't going to have enough lumber to get the job done. Snow interjected into the conversation and asked if there was any way that he could help their inventory issues.
The older of the two men turned to Snow and said angrily, "The man who was supposed to bring us our shipment of lumber quit on us this morning. He has already gathered all the wood, but he left the damnned wagon out in the middle of the forests waiting to be picked up. If you think you can drag that wagon all the way back here, then yes you can help us. If you don't think you can drag it, then no there's no way you can help us." Snow smiled and asked simply, "Where is this wagon?"
The man's eyebrows went straight up, as if he was surprised that Snow was even willing to accept the job at hand. The man grabbed a small map of the forests and gave it to Snow, there was a circle in the middle of the map, which Snow took to mean that that was approximately where the wagon was. Snow accepted the map with an innocent grin towards the older man. Snow was then off into the forest to go find the wagon in question.
He ran through the forest, trying his best to keep the map in his mind so he would know where he was going. He continued through the forest, bobbing and weaving through the thick parts of the forest, knowing that if he took the road both there and back, he wouldn't have been back until very late into the day. He finally cut through the last part of the forest that was in between him and the wagon. When he finally laid eyes on the wagon, he hooked it up to his body and he began running back to town.
While it was hard work, he pushed his body to its limits to get the wagon back before sundown. When he returned to the construction site, the older man was just about to leave the site when his eyes opened wide when he saw Snow running up with the wagon in tow. He handed off the wagon and was given a small reward as a thanks.
