Fire in the Academy! (p, nk)

Yoi was awake and cooking himself some breakfast. It was a great day. The sun was shining bright. He was just about done cooking when he got an urgent knock on his door. Yoi turned the stove off and walked to the door. He opened it to a frantic messenger from the missions department. The man, out of breath, said, "Sir, there's, a, fire... at... huph, huph... at the academy. Your... help... is needed." The man ran to another house. Yoi quickly activated Icing Over and Body Flickered to the academy (300 speed). This was urgent. Yoi looked around and started sizing up the situation. Icing Over would protect him from the fire, and Ice was resistant to fire. Yoi charged into the building, activating Mind's Eye of the Kagura so he could sense all the peoples inside the building.

Kizaru rode through the village on the back of his newly made Beast. The large puppet was ideal for taking out around town and it felt good to have all of his puppets sealed in scrolls finally. They were getting to be way too heavy to carry around. He simply needed to lay back and let the threads on his fingers do the work. Luckily people tended to get out of the way of a large wooden creature like this.

He went out early this morning to give Beast a test drive and maybe get some breakfast. His mind was off somewhere else but it was snapped back to reality by the smell of smoke and the sound of frantic yelling. He stood up on the puppet's back and saw flames burning from inside the ninja academy.

"Seriously? Who starts a fire like this so early in the morning?" He'd grumble before making Beast run at full speed towards the building. His abilities were ideal for a situation like this.

Once inside he would open up his scroll wheel inside the belly of the Beast and start pulling out his other puppets from the scroll, another beast and Alucard. Rakes bladed fingers wouldnt be of much use for carrying people out.

Snow was in the training grounds, still going through his usual routine of sleep deprivation. He was just finishing up his meditation piece of his training when a man ran up to the training grounds yelling for a water user to rush off to the academy, hollering about a fire that had been started early in the morning. Snow looked over the rooftops in the village in the direction and saw a stack of smoke. 

Snow flung his backpack around his shoulder and sprinted off towards the academy, hoping that the children that would be attending the academy would not be hurt. Arriving at the academy, he saw that a massive portion of the building was already engulfed in flames. "This fire is even bigger than the one in the market district a couple weeks back." he thought to himself as he analyzed the area of the school currently in ablaze. 

He found himself an opening into the building and he rushed through it, performing the hand seals for Rain Tiger at Will. The clouds formed above their heads and rain began pelting the fire with rain. After completing the first technique, he created two shadow clones and all three Snow's cleared the entire building of all the children that they could find. After Snow could not find anymore children or staff, he then turned his attention to the fire itself. 

The rain, and the help of a couple other shinobi, the fire was beginning to lessen in severity. From within the building, Snow and his clones began performing all of their water techniques that they could, slowly making their way out of the building. The building was still raging on, but they were beginning to see signs of the fire weakening and faltering under the constant battering from the three shinobi that were currently fighting it.

Yoi decided to activate Freezing Aura but kept it very weak. That way it would cool the fire without freezing academy students. Yoi figured that since this was not physical ice, more of a manifestation of pure cold, it would put out the fires. He coughed as he breathed in the smoke, but the Yuki didn't mind too much. After breathing plumes of smoke from Calin's vicious fire attacks, his lungs had been permanently scarred. He ripped off some of his bandages, infused them with Water Release to soak them through with water and then put it over his mouth to act as a filter. The Yuki arrived in a classroom full of students. He quickly performed the handseals for Weapons of Ice and cut a hole through the wall, allowing the students to access the outside. His Mind's Eye of the Kagura wasn't picking up any more chakra signatures, so he continued running through the building. He activated Icing Over to shield him from the extrema heat and continued putting out fires with Freezing Aura. He also activated Hidden Mist and put out many more fires that way. Yoi, after putting out several fires, exited the building out front. He bent over, putting his hands on his knees and coughing. He was ready to start again, before noticing Snow and Kizaru. He yelled over to them, "Hey guys, what's the plan?"

There was a ton of smoke starting to fill the halls of the old wooden building. The place was like a giant kindling box. By the time he had all of his puppets out of their scrolls and connected by threads, some other shinobi had shown up to also help. He didn't recognize one of them but he did know Yoi. The Yuki made a big entrance by freeing a classroom of students and landing back at the doors to the school. With multiple shinobi they could coordinate a plan and tackle the blaze a lot easier.

"I can handle evacuation. Each of these beasts can carry a class of kids and Alucard can bust through any debris." He would say while getting ready to take off into the inferno, "I'm not going to be much help outing this fire though. We need water for that. This fire also wasn't started naturally. Someone should look for the culprit, they might still be inside!"

With that he would head in and get to work locating students and faculty still stuck inside. The heat from the flames was nowhere near as intense as the ones Calin had roasted them with. It was tough but he would push through for those inside who needed help.

Snow and his two clones would continue to search room by room, trying to find any signs of students or faculty still trapped within the different rooms of the academy. Room after room, he was beginning to feel the wear that the smoke was putting on his lungs, coughing uncontrollably as he still had a few more rooms to check. One of his clones had taken in too much smoke and vanished within a cloud of white smoke, being the perfect contrast with the dark black smoke that was filling the hallways of the building. While the heavy rain pelting the fire was indeed helping, the fire was still burning with few signs of stopping completely any time soon. 

Snow then heard a voice yell outside the building that they were going to try and find the culprit, the arsonist that had started this fire and caused injury to members of the village. Snow told his second clone to stay within the building and keep trying to put the fire out from within so the others could do the same from the outside. The clone nodded his head confidently and they both went their own directions. Snow too wanted to find the culprit, he wanted to know just why someone would do that to a place for education and advancements for the community as a whole. 

Snow burst through one of the back exit doors in the academy and he saw there was a man sprinting away from the burning school. While that wasn't much to go off of, he figured that it would be worth a shot to catch the one guy that is running away from the school, instead of trying to offer his hands to help fight the fire. Snow sprinted after the individual, but making sure that he would not run directly into any attacks sent backwards by the might-be culprit, beginning to look more and more like this runaway was in fact the arsonist to the fire within the academy.

He would hope that others would join him in his pursuit so he would have a little back up to actually apprehend this guy, and possibly kill him if needed. He would be fifteen meters behind the runaway, trying to keep a safe distance, but not allowing the runaway to leave his sight. He would keep the chase up until the possible culprit tired and slowed down, or until he was joined by others who would help him bring the guy down.

Yoi, still coughing, heard Kizaru suggest someone chase after the culprit. Yoi managed to stop coughing and nodded. After seeing Snow’s Shadow Clones, Yoi created some of his own to help to assist in the stop of the fire. The Shadow Clones appeared in a contrasting puff of white smoke. Yoi directed Boi and Roi to enter the building and do their best to assist any firefighters. Roi, as he ran into the building, turned his head and smiled at Yoi. Yoi rarely summoned a second Shadow Clone, mostly only using Boi as he rarely needed two. Yoi was looking for a man exiting the building. Mind’s Eye of the Kagura was picking a ton of chakra signatures, but he had no way of knowing which was the criminals. He noticed Snow’s chakra signature running rapidly. Yoi made an assumption that Snow himself was chasing after the culprit. The world blurred around Yoi as he Body Flickered to catch up to Snow. All Yoi saw for the brief second when he was moving at his maximum speed were blurs of the brown and green of the forest. Blurs of the red of the academy’s collapsing roof. Blurs of gray and black of the smoke looming ominously overhead. Yoi eventually stopped his extremely fast movement as he caught up to Snow. Yoi, with Icing Over active, was a little faster than Snow. The 20 meter distance between the shinobi and the culprit was starting to close. The culprit took a turn down a brick road. As Yoi started to near the culprit, the culprit heard Yoi’s footsteps. Yoi cursed himself for this. The culprit jumped onto a rooftop and Body Flickered ahead. Yoi continued to chase after him. The Yuki threw a kunai at the culprit, aiming for a non-vital spot of his upper body.

The other two shinobi both produced shadow clones of themselves, immediately increasing their manpower significantly. The clones rushed off to start putting out the fires, luckily both of the others seemed quite capable with water techniques. While the clones fought the fire, the other two headed off in search of the culprit. Kizaru stayed behind to continue the rescue efforts. They could handle whoever was cowardly enough to burn an academy full of children.

The smoke was getting to be thicker than the puppeteer had anticipated, air was becoming sparse and it was getting harder to breathe as time passed. He needed to hurry and get everyone out. He rushed forward with Alucard in front. The puppet would brush off debris and clear a path through the halls. Kizaru began checking doors to see if anyone was stuck in the classrooms. Thankfully it looked like most people had already evacuated the building but there were a few stragglers here and there. Whenever Kiz came across someone he would direct them to climb onto one of his Beast puppets. He was just about to finish his sweep of the bottom floor when a scream broke through the sounds of crackling wood.

"Help us please! Shiro is stuck!" The desperate voice called out. The smoke was so thick that Kiz could barely see where he was headed. The people he was rescuing couldn't afford to stay inside any longer. He needed to get them out of there.

"I didn't want to cause any more damage but I've got no choice." He would say flitting his fingers that were connected to Alucard. The puppet maneuvered in front of a wall to the outside and promptly began smashing the wood apart with its arms. Once the hole was big enough Kizaru sent both Beast puppets through it and out of the building. He released the strings and turned back with only Alucard now to find whoever it was that had yelled.

Snow and his remaining clone ran down the suspect. He was quick on his feet, but not nearly as fast as Snow and his clone. Snow grabbed the clone's arm and launched him into the suspect. The clone flew through the air and wrapped his arms and legs around the fleeing suspect, knocking him to the ground. Snow caught up with the suspect and placed his hands on the suspect's forearms and using his weapons of ice technique, he would cuff the man's hands together, preventing him from freeing himself from the grasp of the clone and running off once again.

Snow and the clone picked the man up and leaned him against the wall that was directly next to them. The fire was becoming less and less intense, telling Snow that the fight was indeed won against the fire itself. Snow and his clone interrogated the man, asking him if he was in fact the one who started the fire. After a a couple minutes of interrogation, the man said that he was one of the few that started the fire. There were two other men that played a part in the destruction, but he had no clue where they were. Snow simply looked up and saw Yoi, Snow yelled over to him to relay the information. "Yoi! I'm taking this one in! He said there are two others who played a part in the fire! You guys get the other two, I got this one.

Snow then pulled the man with him, having his clone watch him just in case he decided to do something to free himself. The ice cuffs that he had made were not going to be broken so easily, but the clone may lose his grip. They dropped him off in the Kono prison and left him there to booked and processed by the authorities. By the time he had the chance to look back in the direction of the school, the smoke had turned white. Assuming the other members of the so called team caught the other arsons, he would resume his training and head back to the training grounds.

Yoi saw the man narrowly dodge his kunai. Yoi gritted his teeth in anger and continued chasing after him. He looked behind him and saw the smoke start to dissipate and lose its darkness. He dispersed both his Shadow Clones, as they seemed to have served their purpose. As soon as they were dispersed, he immediately reformed them right next to him. One Body Flickered forward and activated Freezing Aura. The criminal tried dodging to the right, but another Shadow Clone stopped him with a Weapon of Ice. Yoi ran up behind him and shoved him into a wall. The man was wearing blank pants, a black sweater, a black mask, black socks, and black sandals. He was dressed in all black. The uniformity of his clothing stood in sharp contrast to Yoi’s variety of white shorts, light blue shirt, and dark blue shoes. Yoi made some handcuffs created from Ice. They had their pros and cons compared to real handcuffs. They were easier to slip out of yet at the same time they could be made to custom fit the target. Yoi knew this wasn’t ideal, but it was certainly effective. And he could make these on the go, making them even better. Of course, handcuffs could be put in Storage Displacement, but taking things out of Storage Displacement could be very slow. The Yuki formed them around the man’s wrists, saying, “You better stay quiet. I’m gonna bring you in, and you’re not gonna have a fun time.” Yoi, having done his fair share of missions, knew plenty about arresting criminals. He remembered bringing in that academy student for vandalism. Yoi had only barely learned Freezing Aura then. He hadn’t gone on his Tea Country mission. Chuta has been an active shinobi. The Chunnin Exam sign ups hadn’t even been posted. Yoi smiled and shook his head. He walked the man back to the police station and filed a report on him.
